A reservation at Quality In at the airport in Toronto, Ontario for July 18 & Aug. 9, 2022
I booked a hotel at Quality Inn at the Toronto airport in, through Reservation Desk. 15/5/2022, I asked several questions before accepting the reservation:
1. Is the money in Canadian dollars, answer - yes
2. Will parking be free for the entire time I am away, 24 days. Answer - yes
3. Is the shuttle to airport free - answer yes
Once I received the confirmation the following was quoted:
Money is in US dollars
Parking will be $169, Per week
Shuttle to airport $15. Per person each way.
I was told by Reservation Desk that they would listen to the phone conversation and get back to me. So far, I received emails offering a refund of $68.60 No explanation what this represents.
Desired outcome: I want to completely cancel this reservation due erroneous information provided to me by Reservation Desk.
False and misleading booking site
Booked a last minute hotel for an unexpected trip. While searching the internet, it brought up a link that looked like an official Homestay Inn and Suites website. The pricing was about average for other hotels in the city, so I proceeded to book. They advised that there was a 14.99 reservation fee that would be credited toward the room, with the balance to be paid at the hotel.
We arrive at the hotel late (10 pm) to find that the hotel had never received the reservation and have never heard of Reservation Desk.
Beware of this website. Scam!
Desired outcome: Credit of 14.99 fee.
No refund
Made reservations for 2 nights at Heathman lodge in Vancouver , Wash. Since the wife ended up with cancer and could not go. Called reservation desk asked for refund , emailed Doctors letter . No response , then called Heathman manager . She contacted Reservation . Desk .Com . She sent email saying they would fully refund and have email stating they would fully refund . Thats been 9 days ago cannot speck to anybody . This place is terrible, lets kick someone down more . Quickly the personnel at Heathman Lodge have been excellent at trying to resolve this issue .
Desired outcome: Need full refund , that they stated they would do !!!
Crooks
I thought I was calling the Maribelle Inn, but I was somehow hijacked to Reservation Desk. I still thought I was talking to the hotel, but it was Reservation Desk. They booked a room for me at The Maribelle Inn in Solvang. The total cost was $376.48.
I had to cancel. I was connected to someone in some other country that didn't speak much English, with a broken phone connection. I finally was able to cancel, for a $14.99 service charge.
I realized that I could still go, so I rebooked, the same room, with the hotel. The total cost was $261.75.
The cost for The Reservation.com booking was $114.73 more than calling the hotel, not including the $14.99 cancellation fee.
I thought that I was in contact with the hotel that i was booking with, not a booking agency.
Somehow, I thought I was in contact with the hotel I was booking my stay with. I clicked on the website. However, I was charged a booking fee and charged for the stay I thought this must be their policy and wanted to stay there. Paid for staying parking and free airport transport. Had I known I wouldn't have booked.
Desired outcome: Please refund booking fee!
Reservation for two nights at a hotel on Sanibel, Florida
When I arrived at the hotel where I had reserved and paid Reservation Desk for two nights, the hotel manager told me the reservation had been cancelled. On the Tuesday before my check-in on Friday (March 18) she had received an email from Cloudbeds cancelling my reservation which I had made with Reservation Desk.
The hotel manager, at Anchor Inn, Sanibel, Florida, had a room for me on the 18th but not the 19th. She contacted the "sister hotels' but no availability on 19th so she then called the Chamber of Commerce on Sanibel Island.
I called three hotels suggested by the Chamber but the only rooms available in March, high season in Florida, were $600. suites. I had no choice but to book a room that was twice the cost of the room I had booked with Reservation Desk.
When I contacted Reservation Desk, the agent said my payment to them would be refunded but there would not be any payment to me for the additional expenditure which I incurred because Cloudbeds had cancelled my original reservation.
Reservation Desk could not explain how Cloudbeds could have cancelled my reservation and would not reimburse me for the more expensive hotel which I had to book the day I learned of the cancellation.
Desired outcome: Reservation Desk should send me a check for $300. to cover the additional expense which I incurred because of the cancellation of my reservation.
Online Booking Scam
I booked my reservation on 10/28/21. I chose a room with cancelation policy that was refundable. When I recently attempted to cancel, I noticed that my online receipt now claims it is nonrefundable. I immediately called ReservationDesk.com and talked to your agent where I learned that this was not the Marriott Hotel I believe I was booking with directly. Through the course of my one hour experience, I spoke with 3 different agents who all insisted the reservation was nonrefundable and there was nothing they could do to assist me. Eventually, I just gave up.
I think this is fraudulent. The name makes me and others believe we are making a reservation through the hotel itself. The $14.99 service charge was not disclosed until after I made the reservation.
I want to be refunded in full.
Desired outcome: I want to cancel my reservation and receive a full refund.
Lying and cheating by reservation desk
The Reservation Desk guy said he spoke with the Resort and was told that "I had to book a room in order to rent a boat slip for a week". This is definitely not true. Then to cap things off, he reserved the room for February 24th instead of July 24th.
So:
1. The Reservation Desk lied about speaking to the Resort in question.
2. The Reservation Desk didn't even get the dates right: missed by 5 months!
3. The Reservation Desk took my money under FALSE PRETENSES.
4. The Reservation Desk says they won't give me my money back!
Desired outcome: I want my money back from these cheating liars!
Reservation process
This company is stealing money. They have a terrible cancellation policy: it’s impossible to cancel and get a refund, even after 15 minutes. Their website doesn’t let you confirm before finalizng the transaction. Stay away.
Hotel booking/Did not disclose they were a third party booking agent
1. The reservation agent at the call center never said that they were with a third-party booking site when repeatedly asked if I had reached the Marriott Hotel. They only stated that they could assist me with the reservation.
2. The agent did not provide full disclosure of the breakdown of charges associated with the hotel booking. When asked about the total fees and charges above the room rate, he only stated that they were the taxes and fees charged by the hotel. Once again, misleading the consumer into the belief that they are dealing with the hotel reservation agent.
3. The agent never disclosed the $14.99 service fee for the third-party booking. This would have been another opportunity to question whether the booking was with the hotel or a third party and provide the consumer with the opportunity to make an informed decision about the booking.
4. The Taxes and Fees charged by Reservationdesk are more than twice that of the hotel. The agent stated that these are the taxes and fees charged by the hotel which is totally inaccurate.
5. The Reservationdesk phone numbers, which are numerous, are all designed to create roadblocks and prevent the consumer from reaching a customer service agent to discuss the complaint and resolve in a satisfactory manner.
6. When I asked for a specific room block for my booking, instead of stating that that room block had to be done by calling the hotel directly, he said that he "did not see the room block". Had he mentioned that the room blocks need to be booked directly with the hotel, I would have once again questioned who I was speaking to and not completed the reservation.
7. The reservationdesk website is misleading and looks like you are on the hotel website with reviews done by customers who have stayed at that resort.
8. My reservation was cancelled immediately, within 10 minutes, on the day of booking after receiving an email confirmation of the booking. It was only then that I learned that I had booked with ReservationDesk and not the Marriott hotel.
I have been trying to resolve this unsatisfactory and mentally exhaustive experience with ReservationDesk since my booking on January 12.
Subject: Re: Reservation of Itinerary No. [protected] of Debra Barnes
Travis,
I am writing in response to your email regarding a complaint I had filed regarding a very unpleasant and unprofessional experience with my hotel reservation booking and request for a refund due to the extenuating circumstances with your customer service agent. I am hereby requesting that this complaint be forwarded to your Escalation Team or appropriate supervisor for review as this initial outcome is unacceptable.
This complaint is based on the following:
1. On January 12, I contacted the phone number for what I thought was the Marriot Kansas City Overland Park to make a reservation under a room block for March 11-13. The customer service agent misled me to believe that I was speaking to a reservation agent for the Marriot Kansas City Overland Park hotel. I had obtained the telephone number online for what I thought was the Marriot hotel. When I called, I repeatedly asked the agent if this was the Marriot Overland Park hotel. The agent never said No. He said he could assist me with the reservation. If this was an honest and professional business, he should have said that this is not the Marriot Hotel instead of playing with words and confusing the matter. This is very unprofessional and attempts to falsely misrepresent the hotel to the consumer.
2. I specifically asked for the Room block that is being held by the hotel for my planned booking since I thought I was speaking to the hotel reservation service. I asked him several times if he had the room block I was looking for and was confused again as to why he did not have access to the room block.
3. Although he said he did not see the room block, he could have said you need to contact the hotel directly for that booking. He did not.
4. The discounted room rate he offered was $105 per night and was being booked for 2 nights = $210. He said the total booking price was $307.17. I asked how come the room costs so much if the price is $105/night and $210 for two nights. I asked him what were the other costs. He told me the balance was the taxes and fees charged by the hotel. I told him that I thought it was excessive.
5. I was charged $82.20 in taxes and fees for this room in addition to the $14.99 service charge. The hotel's taxes and fees for this room are only $39.46. I was charged more than double the taxes and fees for this room.
6. He never told me about the $14.99 booking fee which would have informed me that I was not dealing with the hotel but rather a third party booking site. If so, I could have made an informed decision about completing the reservation. I would never have booked this reservation if I knew that it was not through the Marriot hotel.
7. The hotel also offers a nonrefundable, nonchangeable room rate. It allows a full refund if made within 24 hours of booking if cancelled.
8. My room was cancelled immediately, less than 10 minutes after booking, as soon as I received the email confirmation from ReservationDesk.com which is when I realized that I had not booked through Marriot hotel.
9. Due to these circumstances, I assert that I am entitled to a full refund for this booking. The room was cancelled immediately which allowed your business to offer it to another customer with no adverse impact.
Desired outcome: Refund of all charges in total of $307.17
refund
I canceled my reservation for the Venetian on 1/25 for a 3/02 stay. I actually canceled it a few days earlier but never received a confirmation. When I called the second time I was told they had no record of the earlier cancellation.
I received a confirmation of my cancellation on 1/25 - Cancellation Itinerary Number: [protected] - The Venetian Resort Las Vegas. Here we are, 14 days later, and no money. You owe me 888.42, less your $14.00 service charge.
If I need to go to the attorney general's office to get my money, I will. It appears you have a huge backload of complaints about not refunding money. Where there is smoke there is fire. If I don't have my money by Friday, I will leave no stone unturned to not only get my money but to have your company investigated.
Desired outcome: You owe me 888.42, less your $14.00 service charge. I want my money.
Right hotel, wrong city
I called December 27, 2021 to reserved three rooms (2 king size and 1 double beds) for Hampton Inn, Johnson City, TN. Gave debit card information to the agent and amount of $1, 139.86 was paid. Check in date was Jan. 14, 2022 as I had a church reserved Jan. 15, 2022 for a memorial service for my husband that passed Oct. 29, 2021. Check out on Jan. 17, 2022. I did not have any reservations upon our arrival. The rooms were booked for Lebanon, TN. All of my calls were met with our policy is etc., Hampton Inn, Johnson City was able to provide me with three rooms for three nights. My problem is Price Line reimbursed me a total of $469.65. I was charged cancellation fee because I did not cancelled the rooms in "Lebanon" and also I was charged one night hotel room fee because once again I did not cancel the reservations. King Hotel Bed was ugly when I called them, I was told it was my mistake not the agent, that booked the right hotel in the wrong city. I admit I was very emotional dealing with another memorial service for my husband and the holidays, but I am very upset that all of the "our policy" is etc., no exceptions. My only mistake was trusting the agent to book rooms at Hampton Inn Johnson City, not Lebanon TN. My "mistake" cost me $670.21 plus the additional cost of three rooms for three nights at Hampton Inn, Johnson City.
Desired outcome: Would like "policy" to have exceptions instead of its our policy no exceptions, and would like $670.21 reimburse to me.
refundable booking
I booked my reservation on 11/12/21 @ 2:20pm. My confirmation # is [protected]. I chose a room with cancelation policy that was refundable. My receipt claims it is non refundable. I immediately called your service and talked to your agent. She claimed they would review this and it would take 24 hours to hear from the hotel to see if they would refund my cancelation. I asked if I should call the hotel myself and get it resolved quicker. She said yes and to get their name and position and call them back at your service. I spoke to Erica at the front desk who claimed my reservation was through booking.com. I said that not true and I want to cancel their reservation and be refunded. She canceled your reservation and I called your service again. I spoke to Elaina who then spoke to Joe. Now they said it would take 48 hours or more to see if they would refund my cancellation.
I think this is fraudulent.
First, your name makes people believe they are making a reservation through the hotel itself. The $14.99 service charge is not disclosed until after you make a reservation. Second, your prices vary and one day later there is no room for $165. I choose a room for $167.34 with a cancellation policy.
I want to be refunded in full. I will also contact my bank if necessary to make a dispute on your charges.
Desired outcome: I want to be refunded.
overcharged on my credit card
I am disputing a charge on my Master Card - Confirmation #[protected] at Days Inn at 1841 Parkway Pigeon Forge (Sevierville Tn). I made the reservation for (2) nights but upon arrival we were told the reservation was for only 1 night even though we were charged for 2 nights in the amount of $635.56(for 1 night). So my husband had to pay addition $125.00 for us to stay the second night. Note: we only paid the hotel $125.00 compared to what your company charged. Also, the lady at the Reservationdesk.com said through her research there were no other vacancies & that is the reason we felt we had no other choice but to agree. I called Reservationdesk to cancel after I realized that I had been taken advantage of to cancel reservation but they refused. I was treated poorly. I am requesting a refund for the additional night that we were charged. (1/2 of $635.56)
checked in Oct 9th/out on Oct 10 on this particular reservation & then my husband had to pay additional $125 for one more night. I have spoken to my attorney & he suggested filing based on fraud.
Desired outcome: requesting a refund for one night when we were charged for 2 nights.
Poor Business Practices
Made a 3-night reservation (starting tomorrow night) at 3:59pm via this website thinking I was dealing directly with the hotel. But, then within 5 minutes noticed that a) I was not on the hotel's website and b) the room rate and taxes/fees were both higher than if I had booked on the hotel's website directly. I immediately called (4:06pm) the ReservationDesk phone number [protected]) to try to cancel the reservation, but was informed that I would be charged for the first night as I did not cancel by 4:00pm 24 hours before arrival. I even volunteered to let them keep their fees, but that offer was summarily declined.
Bottom line: ReservationDesk.com is pretty much a scam that does not offer "the lowest prices" (as advertised), charges hidden fees and does not conduct business in a consumer friendly manner.
Desired outcome: Cancellation of reservation without a one-night charge
Hotel Booking
Made a reservation with them, recieved a confirmation, arrived at the hotel and found out that I had no reservation, contacted them they said it was confirmed but hotel said no, so out the money now that was paid and no refund, they did find me another hotel but it was run down and very sub par and almost double the price
Desired outcome: Money refunded
reservation service operator
I called to make a reservation at the Baltimore Harbor Inn and in the discussion with the operator (Logan) he told me that the price depended on whether it was a no-money-back reservation or one with a cancellation option. I said I was surprised at that since my previous reservation experience was that I could cancel up to 24 hours before the stay. Logan then asked me if I had booked a hotel during this COVID period and I told him that was not his business. He called me rude and said he would put me on a list that blocked me from reserving a room at the hotel. That angered me and I asked to speak to a supervisor. He repeated the threat to block me (at least twice more) as I asked again to speak to a supervisor. He called me rude again which angered me further and I told him he was rude. He claimed to have many years in the business and knew how to deal with rude callers. He put me on hold and after a few minutes, told me he was still waiting and would keep me on hold. Then he hung up.
This occured at about 9am EST on 7/31/2021. I think/hope you have a recording and can check it.
Desired outcome: I don't like to see anyone fired. But this person needs better training in customer service!
Stole my money
I hit the cancel reservation button on the confirmation sent to me from Reservation Desk by mistake. I couldn't undo the mistake. Calling their line to explain what happened, I was told there was " nothing they could do. They had my 560 for a two night stay, a higher price than dealing directly with the hotel in Montreal would have been btw, and they simply kept the money. Theft.. no credit, on file nothing . I complained to the credit card company about the theft, 2 days later and Visa stopped the transfer of funds. Still waiting on the final outcome. The reservation desk thieves are fighting the block by Visa. I booked another hotel, with other money. Do not deal with this criminal org.
reservation process at reservationdesk.com
June 2021, #[protected]. When I made this reservation I was not told of the $14.99 service fee AND my email address was not verified (with regard to the spelling of my name) when I requested a confirmation by email. When I did not received an email confirmation, I called a second time and when the agent completed the time consuming process to send me an email confirmation, again the spelling of my email address was not verified. I then used the on-line email form and, for the third time, requested an email confirmation of my reservation. After not receiving that email, I called the 833 number and made my fourth request. I had to ask the young man who answered to spell my name on my email address and of course it was wrong. I received the email confirmation at my correct email address but of course the email address on the reservation still had the wrong spelling of my name. I will never use this service again and I will not recommend it to anyone else. Thank you
Scam - do not use this service
They lure you in, making you think you are booking directly with the hotel. Then charge your exorbitant fees. When I asked about the fees, they said they would explain in a moment. They gave me a confirmation number and I never agreed to the fees. When I asked about the fees for a second time and then refused to book with them, they said it was already too late. They had no desire to make things right, . Their only desire was to take advantage.
Desired outcome: I’d like them to refund the fees since I technically did not agree to this service.
