I used RIA for a home inspection 2 months ago and I can't say enough good things about them
I used RIA for a home inspection 2 months ago and I can't say enough good things about them. They were super profesh from the moment I called to schedule. The inspector was really thorough and his communication was on point. They even hit me up after the inspection to make sure everything was cool. All in all, I'm stoked with the service.

I got an inspect done by Residential Inspector of America on May 27
I got an inspect done by Residential Inspector of America on May 27. They said the dishwasher was fine, but four electrical wall sockets around the stove had some problems. I closed on my condo on June 24th. A week later, I tried to run the dishwasher for the first time and there was a big water leak that went through to the downstairs condo through a light fixture. The outlets still don't work. I talked to my real estate agent about it because I was worried about water damage for my condo and the one below me. They told me to talk to their claims team, which I did on July 1st. I haven't seen a response to my email and I asked for an update a lot, the last time on July 12th. I don't get why no one is helping me fix the problem when there could be water damage for more than one condo. I just bought the condo and the inspection warranty says they'll fix and replace stuff.
I had a leak in the water main between the city meter and the shutoff in my home, 2 weeks after moving in
I had a leak in the water main between the city meter and the shutoff in my home, 2 weeks after moving in. I paid Residential Inspectors of America to inspect my home before buying it. They said they'd cover the repair costs under their warranty. But it turns out they only cover a certain amount per linear foot of damaged pipe. They didn't say that in the policy. So, since the whole pipe is under concrete, I have to replace the whole 60 feet of line. That means I'll have to pay $3000 for the repair, but I'm only asking for $2000, which is the maximum amount they cover. The inspector said the water line was copper, but it's actually plastic and was visibly repaired before. I hope Residential Inspectors of America will honor their warranty and pay me the $2000.
