We moved into this property at the beginning of the year. We have been here and paid rent including this month's rent for 8 months. Our rental agreement not only includes landscaping care but prohibits us from doing it. In the 8 months we have been here we have had one visit from a landscape vendor contracted by ResiHome (around March).
On that visit the vendor informed us they were only instructed to fill three bags and that is what they did (using OUR blower because theirs was broken). We have had no lawn care since and the grass and weeds are over a foot tall at this point in every part of the yard front and back.
In addition, the pool at this property needed to be resurfaced and they simply had it painted instead. The paint is of course already pealing up now. Their vendor for this was not even cleaning the pool and ruined the filter so we decided to forgo that service and hire someone to care for the pool out of pocket. An added $100 to be able to actually use the pool we are paying to rent... At least it isn't continually green as it was before.
Finally, there is the pool cage. By law, ResiHome is required to service and repair it at least once annually. It has not been done in the 8 months I have been here and was absolutely covered in pine needles when I arrived.
After a number of emails and phone calls, I gave ResiHome a 7 day notice to resolve the issues with the lawn and pool cage in conjunction with Florida law. The day after that notice went out, so did the AC. I called the emergency line and was told they would make a ticket, find a vendor and call me back. After and hour and a half with no returned call, I called again. I was then told by a different person that there was no ticket and no one would be coming because it wasn't an emergency. At this point, I am seeing red and literally am at my wits end.
We are here with two dogs, no AC and a yard that makes the house look like an abandoned property. I do not want some prolonged "thing" with a landlord. I work 50-70 hours a week and sometimes go a month without a day off. Life is hard enough without having to fight for simple things that are easily remedied.
ResiHome, wouldn't it be easier to just honor your contracts and do the right thing? Wouldn't that just make good business sense? Seriously, creating this kind of drama over simple requests that you are in the end legally required to abide by is quite frankly stupid... and really gross.
One star after one star, after one star. Aren't you tired? The simple solution is... Do the right thing, abide by your contracts and treat people like they matter... because they do!
Desired outcome: Fix the AC, not in 2 weeks, fix it right now. Mow the lawn in the next 7 days and schd going forward. Credit for the 8 mo of lawn care. Service the pool cage.
