Complete rip-off
We have a leak on our roof in our master bedroom and water is getting into our covered porch as a direct result of negligence on the part of Sunrun. We had a licensed roofer look at our roof and take pictures. He states that Sunrun never should have cleared our roof for solar panels and that we needed a new roof installed before Sunrun placed the solar...

We are leasing a new PV system from Sun Run. There are discrepancies regarding the PTO date. MECO says it is 12/22/23. We were led to believe we were leasing a system that would cover the household electric needs 24/7 except for cloudy days. Now we are told by customer service that the system covers on a good day electric up to 8:30 pm and starts working again at 7:30 am leaving the family to pull from the grid each night from 8:30 pm to 7:30 am. My son with his growing family paid over $600 with the bill of $216 from MECO and $365 from Sun Run. They were out of town 2 of the weeks with only a dog sitter there sometimes. We can't pay for a system that does not cover the household electricity needs. Can we have it removed please? Please help us.
Desired outcome: Remove system or ensure it covers electricity needs except for cloudy days.

SunRun Solar
We signed a contract in 2014 for solar panels. The company at that time was named Vivint. We are leasing the panels with a 20 year contract that increases in cost a little each year. It is now called SunRun This past summer I noticed out electric bills being so much higher than usual and contacted SunRun to see what was going on with our solar panels. I...

Three years ago I signed up with sunrun to put panels on my garage & house I was to pay about $192. Per month for 25 years. When it came time to install the panels I was told my roof on the house was too steep & they could only do the garage. I thought my monthly payment would go down but it never changed. After about 12 months I received an electric bill...

I am in process of selling my home. On October 10th it was discovered during home inspection that there was a small leak in the roof due to solar installation. The leak was small enough that it never made it through to my ceiling, but a leak none the less. The buyers wanted the leak taken care of by SunRun before closing which was set for November 7th. I filed for a repair and was given a date of November 13th for repair. Despite my efforts to get an earlier date to which I was told that was the earliest and confirm or lose it, I moved my closing date to November 15th in order accommodate. Now, on November 8th I got an email telling me my date was moved to November 22 and again, take it or leave it. At this point, the sale of my house is at risk. I guarantee if I look around there are technicians installing panels in my area, but no one available for repair until November 22. It is just unacceptable.
Claimed loss: At least, extending the time until my house closing, costing me additional bills for maintaining 2 homes and at the worst, the sale could fall through.
Desired outcome: My originally scheduled date of repair- November 13th.

Horrible Experience with Sunrun Solar I am deeply disappointed and disgusted with the service provided by Sunrun Solar. Despite contacting numerous representatives and supervisors, my issues with non-functioning solar panels persist. We spoke to Anda M on 6/16, Moria C on 7/12, Boris S on 9/25, Deja R on 10/4, Natalia P on 10/9, Ebony T on 10/9, Daniela P...

Over a month ago I called sunrun to report a roof leak due to the solar panel installation. Prior to calling I had two contractors come inspect the leak and confirmed my suspicion that the leak is coming from a solar panel bracket. Once I spoke to Sun run I was assigned a case manager. A weeks went by and I didn’t hear from anyone and no one returned my...

So a Sunrun sales representative came to my house and said ca had a free solar installation program going on and Sunrun solar was chosen to do the install. I listened thinking it was time for a change. There was another representative who over saw the sale. Well they came and installed the panels. I was happy thinking I only had to pay $211 per month...

I am a customer with a prepaid lease that your company inherited from Sungevity. Back in April 25th I contacted your customer service that the critter guards installed by your company had failed an that animals were under the panels. At that time also told them that previously there were animals under the solar panels that chewed on the wires. On may 3...

I was sent a email stating my complaint was resolved. My solar is still not function correctly. My complaint is not resolved. I have not received a call or email from the company.
I guess the only response I will get is the automatic response from the compliant that was sent a few weeks ago.
I continue to incur a true up bill and pay for the solar that is not working.
Desired outcome: Fix the issue
Sunrun solar
I went to Costco and was approached by a Sunrun salesperson. As a result, I got panels installed on my roof, wait a month for the Energy Company approval and the NetMeter to be installed, on Aug 14th. I called the local person I was told to call to switch my system on and followed her instructions. She said it would take a few days for the production to...

The beaker in the electrical panel has gone out three times. The first time was just after the solar was placed. The solar system was out for three months. During this time I incurred $900 true-up. Sunrun was not aware the system went out until I contacted them. I was told by the salesperson that Sunrun would upgrade the panel if needed, at no cost to me...

I reached out to Sunrun regarding providing information on an application that would fit my needs. My neighbor was a newer and a happy customer and recommended the company. After meeting, we had a plan that I was ok with, and we moved forward. I was told at that time that I would be non-dependent on the grid. Installation was great with no issues. No one...

Reroof by sunrun for solar install
Was sold Sunrun Solar back in Dec 2021, and signed on sometime in February/March of 2022. Around June of 2022 reroof was completed paving the way for solar install. But solar install was pushed back every month and passed around different reps (My assigned rep would not get in contact with me until March 2023). In December of 2022, with all the rain, my...
Read full review of Sunrunreplacement of 1/2 of my system.
Since late in February my system was removed in order to redo my roof . they came after to replace my system , 1/2 0f the sections was replaced but they report a problem with the way they installed the roof and the personnel states that they have to redo the pictures in order to continue with the placement of the rest .
So finally after many phone calls and complaints, a gentleman came here on 5/9/2023 to take the pictures. He reports there is no question, the pictures are taken and the company will come to replace the rest of the panels in no time. I have been calling the Sunrun office many times, give different managers but so far nothing is happening. My last call was yesterday with no answer .
I have enough and I want to know what is going on.
Solar System customer service
I have been waiting for almost 8 months to get one of my inverters replaced. System is running half of guaranteed output.
I receive no updates and when we call we are just told sorry and still not given an ETA. This has just become stupid to have to wait this long for a replacement.
I have been seeing advertisements about how great their customer service is. What a joke.
Of course during this whole process they are still getting their monthly payment.
Just to note 1 unit was already replaced and even though they are supposed to be monitoring the system I had to notify them this time and the first time that there was a problem.
Desired outcome: First I would like the inverter to get replaced.I want a credit for all of the energy it has not produced under the guaranteed amount for this whole period.
Billing, customer service, and system failure
I have been with this company since before they changed from Vivint to Sunrun. I never really had problems besides the constant equipment malfunctions. This would cause issues with the utility company, but the issue would always be resolved, and my billing was never affected. In December, I received a bill of $808.24 because I had supposedly produced over...

Do not sign up with Sunrun. They are a predatory company and will lie every step of the way. Their customer service line is totally useless. For instance, I was on the recorded line with them for over an hour trying to resolve why our online payment was still not credited. I had to make the payment manually because their auto pay didn't work properly. It's still showing after making the payment manually that the billed amount is still due. Any other company will show that you've paid. It's just ridiculous dealing with these incompetent folks. In addition, your energy bills will actually be the same or even more after having their solar panels on your roof. There will be no savings. They are making money off of you and you will be stuck paying each month to two companies (Sunrun and your energy carrier). Had the panels for 10 years and wish we could have them removed. It was a total ripoff.
Desired outcome: Finally credit our account for payment made to Sunrun.
Solar panels installed in my home
Our leased home solar system went into service about 6 months ago. Since our credit rating was below the minimum needed to obtain the system, our salesman suggested that we use a family member with a good credit rating to sign for us. This involved adding him on our deed for a 1/3 share of our home. We were not made aware of the future complications that...
