Risk Assurance Partners Extended warranty couch/sofa

So we bought a custom-made leather couch from florida leather gallery. The couch was in upwards of 9k so the $849 warranty that covers tears, stains, and malfunctions for 5 years seemed wise. That is until we actually needed some service from the 5 tar service; their name should be 0.05 star service. I started to try and file a claim in may of 2022. I called customer service and they asked for my contract number, which they said didn't exist so I had to call the store and verify the number was correct so then I called back again and they finally were able to verify the number. I was then instructed to send them a copy of my receipt in the online portal and add photos of the damage. I did so and no one called me, so after a week I called to see what the status was, I was told they can't read my receipt so I need to upload it again. - they should already have this info, why do I have to provide it? Anyway, I re-upload it and wait for a call to set an appointment. A week or so goes by, no call, so I call back. They claim my warranty is not applicable because the dates are different, well I bought the warranty 2 days before I received delivery of my custom, made-to-order couch. So then I had to contact the store to get prove the delivery date, upload that info, and start the process again. Fast forward 2 more months and they deny the claim because they say I didn't report the damage in 30 days. This is laughable, they keep delaying my ability to make a claim in the first place. I argue my point and they have me start another claim, this is now december. I'm told because of the holidays it might take a few days for someone to schedule the repair. To make this as concise as possible, I have called, emailed, left vms at least 24 times, and asked for supervisors and I still have not got my couch repaired let alone someone return my call with an attempt to schedule a repair. Today is 3/13/23 a refund and compensation for loss of use of half my couch seems fair.

Desired outcome: Refund, complete service, compensation for loss of use.

Risk Assurance Partners Night stand

Horrible horrible customer service. I put in a claim for a night stand that had discoloration due to water damage and they denied my claim and accused me of lying. How disgusting. I spoke to 4 different people including 2 supervisors (supposedly) and all they can say is " there's nothing we can do because it doesn't look like water damage" All I did was wipe juice or candy with a wet paper towel with water and the the paint came off. My furniture is only 8 months old. I want a full refund for my warranty since they won't ever be able to help me. I was disgusted and disappointed with their service I even cried when I got off the phone. They were so nasty.

Desired outcome: Fix my dresser or give me a full refund for my warranty

Risk Assurance Partners furniture failure, leather splitting and excuses as to why they will not pay for the dadmage

we bought a 5 year warrantee with Ashley furniture, backed by Risk Assurance Partners LLC, the Platinum Plan, 1615 South Congress Avenue, Del Ray Beach, Florida. A rip or tear showed up in the leather of a sofa with electric recliner, well within the warrantee and when we called them, they find all kinds of excuses to not pay. They find some absurd reason that you should notify them even before the damage is there. These are con artist and we sent them the photographs and still denied payment and responsibility

Desired outcome: they pay in full for the replacement of the unit, they have the contract as well

This company is a scam. They operate as Platinum Warranty Services sold as extra furniture protection through Ashley Furniture. They have over 36 complaints with the Better Business Bureau and I am adding one more. They are very unprofessional and have the worst customer service. They refuse to cover accidental incidents that are clearly within the policy...

Risk Assurance Partners furniture warranty

Purchased a leather sofa from Ashley Furniture in New Jersey along with the platinum warranty from Risk Assurance Partners, LLC. I had to call them within the first week of purchase because the electric reclining feature did not work. A service tech did not come to home but instead sent me the motor to replace myself! The motor wasn't even the correct one and 2 years later I am still not able to recline.
Just recently I contacted Risk Assurance because my sons belt buckle put a tear in the couch. As requested when filing a claim, I sent in photos. Risk Assurance declined my claim stating that it was caused by wear and tear and bubbling of the leather. The sofa is not our main piece of furniture and we barely use it. There is absolutely no wear and tear on furniture. When I requested to speak to person making this determination, I was refused. When I asked to speak to someone hire then representative, I was refused. Maria Berrio, Consumer Advocate at Risk was very rude and unprofessional. She did not offer any solutions to rectify my issue. Nor did she listen to what my claim actually was. I highly recommend you reconsider purchasing ANY insurance from Risk Assurance and please do not get caught up in thinking you need it when purchasing new furniture.
