I hired Michael ***, also known as Rocco Colucci, aka Rocky Colucci, aka Rocco Colucci Construction LLC, aka Corleone Construction, in May to replace my concrete driveway and sidewalk. It took him a couple of months to finish the job, but he finally completed it around July. The end result looked okay at first. However, by March 2, 2022, one of the concrete pads had lifted significantly due to freezing and thawing, as well as improper soil stabilization. A few weeks later, cracks started appearing in multiple pads, which was a result of both poor soil stabilization and other construction mistakes. I tried to reach out to Colucci by phone, sending him text messages and photos of the failed concrete. I sent several texts and photos over the course of several weeks as more and more pads developed cracks. However, I didn't receive any response until May 28, 2022. Colucci replied via text, claiming that the phone number no longer belonged to him but to someone named Janelle, who supposedly had the number for the past six months. I tried to locate him further but only found the *** address for his company. I contacted the Company at the Secretary of State registered address, but they didn't reply. I also wrote to the address in ***, but received no response. Additionally, I emailed the only address I could find for him, unsure if it was actually his, and again received no reply. The concrete is also spalling in several areas. I paid over $16,000 for this driveway replacement, and it has failed about 60%. I am requesting a refund of $9,500 so that I can hire another contractor to remove the faulty concrete, properly prepare the soil, and pour a new driveway in the cracked areas. I have included photos that clearly show the poor construction practices. The concrete was poured over the trench created by the cement truck wheels without proper leveling or compacting of the soil. This is where the most significant failure occurred.
