Cabinets ordered online
I ordered some cabinets. The drawings looked wonderful and reviewed them to the best of my ability, not being a construction worker. The cabinets were delivered and not the quality I expected but acceptable. There was one sheet in each box on assembly. Once assembly was complete, I found out that 2 critical pieces to make the cabinets look correct were not...

Totally disgusted with this company. spent close to 10, 000 and one of my cabinet doors started to peel. I took a picture of it and they said it was due to water damage. NOT TRUE! Boxes came and were installed in a new construction home. They looked fine and a month later the peeling started on ONLY 1 door. Clearly if the cabinet had gotten wet then more than one would have had water damage and NOT just on the door. Looks more like a manufacturing curing defect. They refused to replace the door. Can't believe they would do this to a customer for just 1 of the doors. They ware wanting me to purchase a whole new cabinet for another 300.00. I will never, NEVER recommend these people again!
poor craftsmanship
I am highly disappointed with the quality of cabinets I received Arctic White Shaker, do yourself a favor and DO NOT order these. It all started with the "chat person" trying to sell me the cabinets and lied about the doors. She said the doors were wrapped in a wood veneer, that was completely false. Then when the cabinets came the delivery guy called and said they couldn't make it to my house and that I had to meet them at a gas station (the order was 30 or more boxes) so I did it and the delivery guy said we would get a $150.00 credit--its like pulling teeth to get RTA to pay the $150. They are dodging the ? like its a dodgeball game. The craftsmanship is soooo bad. I don't even know where to start-- the sawblades and router bits were dull, the dovetails are an 1/8" from meeting, some frames where split, the paint has runs and drip marks, the side/back panels are delaminating, dents and dings in the cabinets AND MORE... it is unreal! I sent over 20 photos to the warranty people and they are not doing their job. PLEASE do yourself a favor and DO NOT order these cabinets.. OOO yeah the claim people have not responded to me in over a week after multiple emails

damaged part replacement(s) missing/broken
We ordered our cabinets 2/26/2018. They were shipped on 3/15/2018 and arrived March 26th. Several boxes (9 total) were damaged on the outside but when inspected most were acceptable on the inside. We first sent a written damage claim on March 27th. Some of the replacement parts (two packages) arrived via Fed-Ex on April 14th . The replacement back panel was damaged and the door frame for one cabinet was not in the box. There was no shipping list included either for that matter. We immediately contacted RTA. It is now May 3rd and we still cannot install the cabinet that has the missing door frame or any cabinets that are next in line. This is holding up flooring and cabinet tops. I have contractors that have other jobs scheduled and I do not have a working kitchen as I have no dishwasher, stove, or sink! We are getting the "I'll check with the vendor" run around with no mention of the damaged back panel let alone the door/face frame. I recommend staying away from Ready To Assemble cabinets from any company with "RTA" in their name. From the complaints I have found, it appears all these companies work in the same manner: "Get their money, if it works fine, if not, delay, delay, delay."
non-responsive to "guarantee"
This merchant offers a "Lowest Price Guarantee, " but in reality proved non-responsive, despite follow-up inquiry calls, to my guarantee request. A chat agent suggested that I pursue the guarantee, noting that requests are typically turned around within about 24 hours. I then spent about 20 minutes putting together the understandably detailed information (including same-day screen shots) they require. My email was never acknowledged. Phone customer service agents were able to confirm that my request had been received, but could not prompt a response (I was told that the price guarantee requests are handled in a different department). Four days after the request I decided to order the cabinets from another company. I still haven't heard back from RTA Cabinet Store.
The cabinets may be lovely, but I thought I'd post this in an effort to keep people from wasting their time with a "guarantee" that seems anything but genuine, or in case such non-responsiveness is indicative of service follow-through elsewhere in the company. Their "guarantee" ended up delaying my project by a few days.
horrible customer service and broken pieces
I ordered some cabinets from the rta cabinet store which did not come in a very timely fashion. Once I received the cabinets there were no instructions what so ever. They sent some of the wrong cabinets, and chipped drawer faces. They answer the phone 1 out of 10 times. Customer service is awful. I have been waiting on a phone call from management to address my issues for over a week still no phone call. I will never do business with company ever again, and will be posting this exact review on every google review and forum there is.
8 months after purchase - no product and no refund
I placed an order at shoprtacabinets.com on 4/26/16 (order # [protected]
). When the company failed to follow through on stated promises, I asked for a refund. I was reassured many times via email that I would receive a refund (in fact I was told that it had been mailed). To date, I am still out almost $3000.
I have filed complaints with the BBB, Attorney General's Office, and local police department. I will continue to work toward a resolution, but in the meantime I would like to share my experience, so others are not robbed as I was. I have over 30 pages of correspondence on this issue, if desired.
Getting Cabinets from RTA Cabinet Store
While the purchasing of the cabinets from RTA Cabinet Store went smoothly, receiving them was a completely different story. Packages arrived in about 2 weeks but, to my dismay, only one skid of cabinets were delivered because the other skid was left on the dock. The carrier that RTA cabinet store used would not deliver until the following week. About 1/2 of the cabinets were damaged. I was informed that it was a shipping issue. However, some of the damage was lack of quality control - not sure how you could miss a 4-6 inch chunk of particle board missing! The second shipment came and more damage including the most important piece for lower cabinets - the corner lazy susan. Throughout the month of June, packages would be delivered randomly without notice (though their website states notifications). Still had issues of missing pieces as well as pieces that were sent which were not the right size. The first package was received May 26, 2016...last package to finish the kitchen came June 29, 2016. Their staff informed me that I could be compensate for this. RTA's Operations Manager offered $250 for this - purchase was for $5500. Owner offered an additional $100 or I could refer others to RTA. If they bought cabinets over the next 2 months, I would get $100 per purchase. Both were unacceptable offers which I declined. I used their website's online testimonials to influence my decision-making in purchasing from this company. If they would have some of these reviews from this site on their own site (which they are positive reviews on their website), I may have reconsidered.
In my opinion, I would not use them again due to damaged cabinets, the fact that it took over a month to get all cabinets received, and the amount of time it to took with every issue I had. The owner inferred that I was looking to make money because of my experience which I found offensive - making money would be getting more back than what I paid for them . He kept saying I got a beautiful kitchen out of the deal - I had to deal with issues continually for a month+ to have a beautiful kitchen! It was an RTA employee who said I would be compensated - they went there first, not me. The Operations Manager stated that my friends and co-workers are biased and then he 'lol' after stating that. Needless to say, these are people that I have been aware of the entire situation - not sure what was so funny about a key way to get future customers through existing customers.
RTA Cabinet Store seems to separate themselves from any damage cabinets/shipping issues and seems to focus on you saving money and you getting a new kitchen - they seem to want to overlook the frustration that their decision to use a freight company causes the client. I am sure RTA Cabinet Store will post to justify this.
I may try to print/scan/upload another day.
Misguidance on Website
I submitted a request for help with the design of my kitchen just as the Memorial Day Sale was starting. I even submitted another bid that I had to have them match. The website says they will assist you - they didn't! They don't present a caveat that if they are too busy, they won't help! I was pressed to make a purchase due to time and had to make the order before 11:59pm on Tuesday to get the discount as they wouldn't work with me after to give me the Mem Day Sale price. Turns out, one cabinet was still needed. Now I have to wait another 2 weeks and the price total is more than if I'd bought local! And, soft close doors would have been included locally - and pre-assembled as well! There is no great price savings here. I am a landlord and would never consider using this company again.
Missing part
I am so fed up with this company. We ordered kitchen cabinets from them 2 months ago. Three weeks later we received the order, minus one end panel. We called and were told it would be sent out right away but it has now been a month and we have still not received it. Without this piece we cannot install our countertops and our entire project is delayed. I call constantly and get no answer and only vague email replies as to when it will arrive. I will never use this company again and don't recommend it to anyone.
Update: Shop RTA Cabinets and World Craft Cabinetry
A warning that there's a couple more kitchen cabinet companies out there being run by a scammer named Frank Lamark. These newer websites are "Shop RTA Cabinets" and "World Craft Cabinetry". Frank Lamark is ripping people off by taking their kitchen cabinet orders, then cashing their checks and money orders and NOT sending their cabinets, then ignoring their emails and phone calls and NOT giving them a refund. The Illinois State Attorney General has filed suit against Shop RTA Cabinets and Frank Lamark:
http://www.illinoisattorneygeneral.gov/pressroom/2015_04/20150413.html
The Illinois Attorney General website says (copy and paste, verbatim): "Click Marketing Inc., In Stock Cabinets Inc., Shop RTA Cabinets Inc., World Class Commerce Inc. and Frank LaMark, Jr., based in Franklin Park, for charging customers for cabinets they never received. According to the lawsuit, consumers purchasing cabinets online or in stores were required to pay up front. The lawsuit says the promised cabinets were never shipped, and consumers did not receive refunds."
Update: There's also tons of unresolved Shop RTA Cabinets and World Craft Cabinetry complaints at the Chicago area Better Business bureau (BBB) for both of his companies which are rated "F" and have alerts posted to warn consumers:
http://www.bbb.org/chicago/business-reviews/cabinets/shop-rta-cabinets-in-chicago-il-88607217/complaints
http://www.bbb.org/chicago/business-reviews/wholesalers-and-distributors/world-craft-cabinetry-in-elk-grove-village-il-88695698
The Shop RTA Cabinets and World Craft Cabinetry websites combined with his UPS Store mail drop boxes, checks and money orders only (big red flag), automated email response system, and 1-800 recorded call centers have netted "free money" for the owner Frank Lamark and many hundreds (if not thousands) of angry customers who paid for cabinets, never received them and then did not receive the refunds that they asked for. I recently did a Google search for "Frank Lamark Research" and "Frank Lamark Complaints" and found even more then I bargained for, much worse than when I first posted here about this scam a few years ago - yes, it's still going on after all these years.
If you lost money from Shop RTA Cabinets, World Craft Cabinetry or Frank Lamark I recommend you file a complaint through your state Attorney General web site "and" the Chicago BBB for Shop RTA Cabinets or World Craft Cabinetry, whichever of his companies is not shipping the cabinets you paid for and is not giving you your money back through a refund. He's not concerned about your email requesting a refund (delete) or your voice message to one of his 1-800 call centers asking for your money back (erase), he IS however very responsive to government agencies and the BBB as he must "smooth" things over with them in order to keep doing what he's been doing for so long. The government and the BBB have the paid staff to contact him (and get his attention), investigate your case for you and help you get your refund back. But they can't read your mind so YOU have to take the first step and file a complaint if you want your money back. It has worked for others in the past... it will work for you too:
http://www.naag.org/naag/attorneys-general/whos-my-ag.php
From what I can tell his other two kitchen cabinet companies "Cabinets Direct RTA" and "In Stock Cabinets" are no longer operational for kitchen cabinet orders and they now redirect to his blog.
I believe when his BBB rating hits the grade of "F" and there are too many complaints for him to respond to, and the website starts to show up at places like this... he opens a new kitchen cabinet website and the cycle of having consumers send their checks or money orders to his UPS drop boxes continues. I recommend you avoid any of his many other kitchen cabinet registered domain names:
https://docs.google.com/document/pub?id=1Mau48AWhCABtQIlEo2zuJjxCqQdjGhZcWme3-jlMCmI
Best of luck to you. If you already ordered through Shop RTA Cabinets or World Craft Cabinetry with an e-check to Frank Lamark, then I hope the links above help you get your money back.

Failure to provide cabinets or refund
I ordered cabinets over the phone with Frank authorizing a checking account withdrawl because Shop RTA doesn't accept credit cards "in order to pass savings along to the consumer". They were very reasonable but I was told delivery takes 2-5 weeks. At the 4 week point we took apart part of our kitchen in anticipation of delivery When 5 weeks had passed (6/13/14) I called and emailed every business day. Despite their voice mail's promise, they do NOT call back within 24 hours, they have not returned my calls once in the last 2 1/2 months I have been trying to get a refund. Shop RTA finally returned an email on 6/18/14 after I told them that we would be contacting the BBB and Illinois AG's office. Shop RTA customer service told me they did not have our bottom cabinets but could send out the uppers. I told them that we needed to get our kitchen back together soon. I asked if they could substitute another cream maple cabinet they had and I was told that was not acceptable to them as it was 3x more and that I could get a refund. I said that was fine, when could I expect my refund? They did not respond to my daily calls and emails until 6/26/14 when the Chicago area BBB intervened. We were told then that Shop RTA would be sending out our refund on 7/7/14 but to "allow ample time for delivery". Two weeks passed without a refund and again I asked the BBB to request my refund because Shop RTA wouldn't answer calls or emails. After the BBB requested a date it was sent out, Shop RTA emailed us a Chase Bank Online Payment Summary pdf with a send on date of 7/23/14 and a deliver by date of 7/30/14. I had responded asking if the refund would be mailed or deposited back in my account. They still have not responded to my emails and we still have not received our refund. Do not do business with this company. Their customer service is horrible and I believe it is at the very least negligent and more than likely a scam. Check the Chicago area BBB website before you purchase anything through Shop RTA. I wish I had
Like I said, check with the BBB and you will see that many people have had the same issues with Shop RTA and Cabinets Direct (an associated company). We are just glad to be done with them and are happy to have gotten something for our money. Some people have not been so lucky. Check out the People Ferret Report on Frank Lamark. After you do you will understand why we gave up trying to get our money back and just focused on getting something for our money. Run, don't walk away from this company. I have had other victims contact me through these forums pretty regularly. Go with a company that takes Visa or another insured credit card so they can help you get your money back if something like this happens to you.
Initially they could not give us a time that they could give us our back ordered cabinets. After waiting 6 weeks they had less than half of our cabinets. We had torn out part of our kitchen in anticipation of receiving them. It only made sense to get our money back. When I read how many complaints were pending against Shop RTA and I received numerous "the check is in the mail" emails (Istill have them if you would like to see them ). After the FAKE Chase Payment PDF I realized that our chances of getting out money returned were almost nil. At that point we decided that if we could get our cabinets out of them we would have to live with that. While we finally did receive our cabinets - first shipment was August 26th and the rest did not come until almost the beginning of November. Shop RTA may be trying to clean up their act because the Illinois Attorney General has gotten involved, I would recommend that you steer clear of doing business until they have done so. The Chicago Area BBB can tell you all you need to know.
We would prefer not to debate whether the customer is right or we are right in any public forum.
Fact is the customer DID receive their order. Their order was shipped via R&L Carriers : Here is the tracking # [protected] (R & L Carriers)
Also fact is they agreed to wait for the back ordered items to come in.
We would like to sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this back ordered item has caused to Kim but first and foremost its about the product itself, the cabinets. We wish Kim the best and hope she loves her cabinets!
***Update from Company***
Please note we are a high volume dealer selling over 100+ orders all over North America every month.
This customer is INCORRECT
Their order was shipped via R&L Carriers : Here is the tracking # [protected] (R & L Carriers)
The customer changed their minds numerous times between waiting for back ordered items and having a refund sent to them.
The customer again is INCORRECT
We are a direct importer of our cabinets and we made them fully aware of the back ordered items and they choose to wait for them.
When they came back in stock we alerted them and shipped them as promised.
Wrong/broken merchandise
First, they shipped the wrong mirror to me. After waiting several weeks for the right one, it arrived broken. This is a mirror and I sent them pictures of it but they told me that I can't get a refund unless I return it. I sent them pictures but they expect me to ship a broken mirror. I won't do that without repackaging it so that it is safe. That would cost me as more shipping material is needed to do this. They don't even make this stuff. It's merely a shipping center for Chinese products. In order to get a refund from them, one must go out of ones way first. They don't deserve to be in business. I too am a small business owner but my customers are ALWAYS taken care of by us.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Mirror did arrive damaged and we gave Mr. Pray the option of us shipping back the mirror for a refund, or we could replace it (whichever would make him happy). Mr. Pray stated that he didn't want a new one, and would like a refund... but he refused to return the "damaged" mirror. While in a perfect world, we would like to make Mr. Pray happy... refunding his money AND letting him keep the mirror doesn't sound right. If the mirror is truly broken, all he would have to do is stick it back in the box and we were paying for the package to be returned. I am not sure how that constitutes poor customer service when we a) offered different solutions and allowed him to decide which option would be best for him b) send him return labels for the product once he decided that he just wanted a refund. Unfortunately Mr. Pray refuses to return the "damaged" mirror so that we can return it to the factory. I am not sure how asking Mr Pray to put it back in a box and stick a label on it is asking him to go out of his way or that it is bad customer service. We are more than willing to take the product back at our expense and refund him the money. As a small business owner, Mr. Pray was very rude on the phone spouting profanities at our staff who was simply trying to explain to him that he could stick the product back in the box and send it back for a full refund.
Crown Molding
I ordered cabinets from RTA Cabinet Store and a matching piece of crown molding in the Chestnut Maple. The 8 ft piece of crown cost almost $40 and it was a joke. It was wrapped in what looks like plastic veneer and the dark line detail is drawn on with black marker. My 2 year old son could have made this. There is no way that anyone in their right mind would use this in their home. I have now attempted to contact the claims department 5 times with no response. It is sad that a company would misrepresent a product on their website and leave a customer hanging for such a small amount of money. I will never use them again.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Lies
RTACabinetStore.com has their white bathroom vanities listed as "solid wood frame". My vanity arrived broken exposing it as particle board, which is not what I had ordered. I requested a refund which I was told by customer service rep, Jonelle, I would be recieving. However, Gary Nealon, the manager has denied my refund request and is requesting my pay to...
