RTACabinetStore.com has their white bathroom vanities listed as "solid wood frame". My vanity arrived broken exposing it as particle board, which is not what I had ordered. I requested a refund which I was told by customer service rep, Jonelle, I would be recieving. However, Gary Nealon, the manager has denied my refund request and is requesting my pay to ship back the item at my cost. I should not have to pay to ship back something I did not order. I did not order the particle board vanity I recieved, I ordered a "solid wood" vanity. I request a full refund and RTA to pay for the item to be shipped back if they want it.
Sounds like a common mistake that can be made with some RTA products. The kitchen cabinets that I bought were solid wood and NO PARTICLE board. Hopefully you get a refund, but I would not hold it against this company, I received a very good product.
I have bought from RTACabinetStore.com 3 times now and have had nothing but fast.efficient, and actually very friendly service. I am a contractor who uses them from time to time (and I always recommend them to anyone looking at new cabinets/bathroom vanities) throughout the year(s) and never have had a problem. Even when I recieved a damaged cabinet one time out of the 100+ individual cabinets I've ordered from them over the years; they sent me a UPS label ( free of charge ... ) in the mail and all I had to do was slap it on my damaged cabinet and send it back; I got my new cabinet within days of sending my return back to them.
Easy with that comment. A lot of times, these cabinets are wood paneled sides and solid wood fronts, but once in awhile a "bad batch" will arrive from China. I would get your money back and not worry about it too much... I bought their kitchen cabinets and they are the real deal.
I forgot to add... ALL of their cabinets are made from REAL-wood. Not particle board like "Krysten" has mentioned... I'm not sure what she's referring too or if she just isnt familiar with materials but I have bought a set of white bathroom vanities from them to install about 6 months ago and they were both 100% real-wood from the faceframe to the back of the cabinet.
They can get away with saying "real" wood because technically partical board is real wood, just not a solid wood board like "real" wood leads you to believe. So if it ever came up in court they would be okay. It's kind of a buyer beware thing that most companies use in their marketing. Most marketing is misleading and they depend on the consumer not knowing this. Unfortunately, most consumers believe the good in companies and get mislead.
i ordered sample for kitchen cabinet. however its totally different from what they showed on lcd monitor screen. i lost my $20 bcoz i dont like color of sample. batter to go locally, i thought. and founded lot cheaper store for same dam product called Sienna Rope. RTA estimated $4200 with shipping and they just $3450 + tax. well i lived in same state where showroom are so, i have to pay taxes. still i got 800 cheaper price.
pulseps i am confused by your comment. So you dont like rta and bought from some one local and paid the same amount plus tax? Your comment makes no sense to me. Who should you what on lcd monitor? I agree you must order sample to really see if you can live with your purchase. I live in NJ and drove to the showroom and for a company that has a great webpage their showroom has a lot to be desired. What i took from the visit was they will give or send you door fronts for 20 dollars. They have three models that are nicer than the rest of their cabinets. Tuscany/brandywine and I think the mocha all have the dovetail in the drawer standard.
I ordered a set of cabinets by telephone. All items were in stock and the order was placed with a delivery time of up to two weeks. This met my scheduling needs. One week later I received a call telling me my order was ready except for a key piece of cabinetry which was backordered for an additional 4 weeks, BUT not guaranteed even then. Jonelle explained that in some cases the back order may not come in even in that time frame. These items are shipped from China. Jonelle also stated that even though their system says an item is in stock, that does not mean it is. Since I had renters moving into the home two weeks prior to the new shipment date, and this missing piece would cause an incomplete kitchen, (including no countertop) I asked what solutions were available. It was a 30"3-drawer base cabinet that would be missing. They offered two 15" 3 drawers to replace it, or 1 standard 2-door base cabinet. This was not acceptable as the piece would be part of the base for an island and I pointed out a two door base does not provide the same storage as a drawer base, nor would two 15" drawer bases serve the same storage purposes (i.e pots, and pans). I was forced to look elsewhere and found the exact cabinets, but at a small cost increase. I asked RTA to please reimburse the difference I was forced to pay and they refused saying they had offered me an alternative cabinet. I maintain that it is not my problem that their ordering system is flawed and does not coincide with their inventory. I will not order from this company again, as it is impossible to tell whether you will receive the products you ordered as promised and the company is not willing to make ammends in a way that satisfy's a customers needs, only what is convenient to them. I have no comment about the cabinets as I have not received them yet.
I received my bathroom vanities - finally. They were made in China as the original post states, but they are quite nice. Much nicer than the Home Depot or Lowes and better price for 21" depth. I only got the white ones because I don't need anything really nice. The fronts of mine are solid wood and the rest is made up of the thin pieces of wood pressed together. Not particle board. Don't know exactly what that is called. For the same price Home Depot and Lowes cabinets are 100% particle board with the fake overlay. I would order again, but would expect to wait quite a while. Don't plan on them coming quickly and don't try calling, e-mailing, or the online chat. They don't respond and they have no voice mail. My fiance is a licensed contractor who buys and remodels 100 year old homes from scratch and he was impressed by the quality for the price. I'm neutral because of the slow shipping and poor customer service, though.
I ordered an entire kitchen full of cabinets from rtacabinetstore.com and the cabinets are beautiful. Unfortunately the company itself is another story. 5 of the cabinets arrived damaged in the box and trying to resolve the situation has been a nightmare. I filed the claim with them as they required & it's going on 5 weeks of fighting to get my calls returned. Matt, the claims manager, actually told me that they are a very small company with just a few employees running around trying to do everything so they're very busy (too busy to return calls?!?) & besides (I'm paraphrasing) you get what you pay for.
So this is why they have a better business bureau rating of C!
I just ordered from them and checked the BBB site. Their rating is actually A- as of today. I used the free design service and I was very pleased with that! I will inform everyone how my order goes...
To Shay125 - not sure what you looked up to see a BBB.org rating for RTA Caninet Store as an A- because as of right THIS SECOND the rating is STILL a C.
I'm now a repeat customer, and you're not going to beat their quality for the price. Bottom line. I was hesitant, too, but the cabinets look fantastic. Solid Maple - EXACTLY like the photos of the finish. They assemble easily. I will say that a couple (this is out of 20+ cabinets mind you) of the cam lock hardware pieces were bent, and one was broken. They were easy enough to manipulate, and don't affect the structure - just a quick countersink and a screw. So, further, I got the full-extension, soft close drawer glides. This part of my first order wasn't included in the shipment (again, sizable order we're talking). Once I got a message to claims, Joanie called me back next morning and the brackets were on the way along with some free touch up stain. Think I covered most aspects of how they do business.
To shay125 and Ponges: I suspect you are talking about 2 different companies. Thertastore.com has the A rating with BBB, I didn't bother checking rtacabinetstore.com
Order the cabinets 11/26/14 and today 12/09/14 and they have not shipped my cabinets. What is going on? Did any of you have the same situation?
I ordered cabinets 3/13/2015, I received an email saying they would ship 2-4 weeks, and then after chasing their almost non existent customer service around I was told 8 weeks. At 10 weeks I requested a refund, 28 days and counting still no refund or cabinets.
This company is a scam, they have litigation against them from the Attorney general of Illinois office, they have a F rating with the BBB. I have submitted a report with the FBI for internet fraud.
I have a feeling I won't be seeing my money back.
I haven't used them yet; hence, coming here to read comments, but the BBB rating is A+ as of 6/11/2015.

These are two different companies. Rtastore.com is a different store from rtacabinetstore.com
Their current BBB grade is a D.
Haha. This is what I meant to post. Current grade is a D.
I submitted a request for help with the design of my kitchen just as the Memorial Day Sale was starting. I even submitted another bid that I had to have them match. The website says they will assist you - they didn't! They don't present a caveat that if they are too busy, they won't help! I was pressed to make a purchase due to time and had to make the order before 11:59pm on Tuesday to get the discount as they wouldn't work with me after to give me the Mem Day Sale price. Turns out, one cabinet was still needed. Now I have to wait another 2 weeks and the price total is more than if I'd bought local! And, soft close doors would have been included locally - and pre-assembled as well! There is no great price savings here. I am a landlord and would never consider using this company again.
While the purchasing of the cabinets from RTA Cabinet Store went smoothly, receiving them was a completely different story. Packages arrived in about 2 weeks but, to my dismay, only one skid of cabinets were delivered because the other skid was left on the dock. The carrier that RTA cabinet store used would not deliver until the following week. About 1/2 of the cabinets were damaged. I was informed that it was a shipping issue. However, some of the damage was lack of quality control - not sure how you could miss a 4-6 inch chunk of particle board missing! The second shipment came and more damage including the most important piece for lower cabinets - the corner lazy susan. Throughout the month of June, packages would be delivered randomly without notice (though their website states notifications). Still had issues of missing pieces as well as pieces that were sent which were not the right size. The first package was received May 26, 2016...last package to finish the kitchen came June 29, 2016. Their staff informed me that I could be compensate for this. RTA's Operations Manager offered $250 for this - purchase was for $5500. Owner offered an additional $100 or I could refer others to RTA. If they bought cabinets over the next 2 months, I would get $100 per purchase. Both were unacceptable offers which I declined. I used their website's online testimonials to influence my decision-making in purchasing from this company. In my opinion, I would not use them again because of the all the damaged cabinets (1-2 seems reasonable), the fact that it took over a month to get all cabinets received, and the amount of time it to took with every issue I had (plus time I had to take off to be at the house to receive shipments). The owner inferred that I was looking to make money because of my experience which I found offensive - making money would be getting more back than what I paid for them. He kept saying I got a beautiful kitchen out of the deal - I also got a splitting headache from having to deal with this! The Operations Manager stated that my friends and co-workers are biased and then he 'lol' after stating that. Needless to say, these are people that I have been aware of the entire situation. All of this information is contained the email conversation between myself and RTA reps.
White Shaker frameless cabinets manufactured by Innovation Cabinets in Dallas Tx
The absolute worst cabinets and Poor customer service. Cheap Chinese garbage (well not so cheap$$$) Probably assembled by Illegal immigrants somewhere in Texas.
We had to rebuild all the cabinets re-using only the doors, install all new hardware, new plywood.
WE Lost our A$$ on this job. But at the end of the day our customer was satisfied
