Weeks before the owner of a Rushcard account died, and because he was in several different medical facilities, he gave his card (and authorization for its use) to his son. The phone number and address information were updated to a PA address since the cardholder was not going to be returning to his residence in DE. Rushcard was supposed to send account balances to the address on file. However, because the cardholder died in May, the balance was not sent, and Rushcard reps said anyone claiming ownership of the money had to supply ID, the death certificate, and proof of executorship. Because the heirs did not go through probate court, the address on file is in PA, and there is no proof of executorship, the son of the deceased requested that Rushcard submit a letter via USPS expressing why the money was not sent, why it would not be sent without all the criteria, and what they plan to do with it. Please note that Rushcard blocked the card without proof of death and closed the account because of fraud (although no fraud was committed)
Claimed loss: $502.23, which is the balance
Desired outcome: Written correspondence that includes a helpful resolution
