On June 27, 2024, I received an email from from Alex Crusoe of Ryze Superfoods, informing me about a new shipment of Ryze Mushroom Coffee was scheduled to be shipped within the next few days. I promptly responded to him and informed him that I never selected any recurring subscription and that I only made a one-time purchase on June 1, 2024. In response, he sent a single screenshot of inconspicuous text containing six words showing "$36 refill ships in 30 days." He did not, however, send anything indicating that I intentionally selected this subscription or otherwise had another option of not unknowingly selecting this subscription. I promptly informed him that he needed to cancel any auto-shipment, not make any unauthorized charges, and not send any products. I even tried to go online to "cancel" this illegitimate "subscription." The website will not allow me to log in to do so, even after trying to recover the lost password. Potential customers need to be aware of this deceptive business and advertising practice. The FTC, CFPB, BBB, and Attorney General's Office need to be involved to prevent Ryze from continuing to deceive consumers.
Recommendation: Ryze will try to make you unintentionally register for a subscription.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
