rude employee
there was a long brown haired woman who was tall and smoking in the front of sally’s and i was looking for hair dye and when she came in she pushed me out of the way and ran into the back room when she got out of the back room she continued to be disrespectful saying the store was going to close soon and to hurry up so i just walked out
Desired outcome: get her fired
Not paid for accrued vacation pay upon leaving company
Worked almost 2 years for company as part-time (but 35+ hours/week). Worked extra as always was short handed, and came in anytime needed. Put forth a good worth ethic and always treated customers with total respect. Worked biggest part of the time by myself in store, waiting on customers, stocking shelves, upkeep of store (cleaning), and unpacking delivery. Upon giving my 2 weeks notice I asked about accrued vacation pay (had by next to last check 39.5 hours vacation pay) to make sure I'd be paid for it, and was told I would. Did not want to leave on bad terms as the store was extremely short handed. Asked the store manager 3 times as I was counting on the vacation money with change in jobs, and was told I would get finial check with vacation time. Result, 2 weeks after leaving no check and was informed by Sally Beauty Holdings they do not pay out vacation time. (Strange as why is vacation accrued from year to year?) It was stated Sally's only pays out accrued vacation to employees in states that require Sally's by law to pay. Somehow with all Sally's diversity and equality, this seems very discriminating. Filed complaint with Ethics Point, which now shows they've been notified and only response I received was they were trying to see if they could make an exception but it would take another month. Seems like this is way too long to have to wait and no communication. Plus the fact sadly the store manager should know and be knowledgeable of corporates policies. The whole thing feels like I was taken advantage of for working to help them out, where I fulfilled my obligation but Sally's did not fulfill theirs.
Desired outcome: To be paid for the 40 hours vacation accrued. Corporate needs to look at policy of vacation pay as it is unfair to employees not living in these states.
Shipping Problem
I had ordered several hair sprays and Eco Hair Gel. One hair spray came in a different box than other items, which was 2 hair sprays, nail polish, and the hair gel. The gel container was cracked, but the big problem the lid on the gel popped off sometime during shipment, and the box filled with the gel. Only about 1/4 of the gel was contained in the jar. This was all a huge mess, but I was able to get everything washed off and it is keepable. But I would really appreciate a replacement of the gel since I have only a small amount. Thank you.

I had an Babyliss pro hairdryer and diffuser for Christmas. as soon as the hairdryer heats up the diffuser flies off across the room even though it was the one recommended for the hairdryer itself. Contacted Sally's who would only exchange the diffuser "as a good will gesture" as I didn't have the receipt as it was a gift. I had tried my Mum's diffuser which was the same one and the same thing happened. I explained that the item was effectively faulty as I could not use it without a diffuser due to my hair type.
Customer service was so rude, basically talking over everything I was trying to explain to her on the phone and still refused to do anything about it.
I contacted Babyliss who are now raising a claim. I will buy straight from Babyliss in the future and have explained to them that Sally's is certainly not a place I would like my brand advertised. I will be informing trading standards. Disappointed is an understatement.

Customer service
I was looking at nail products the manager stood at the end of the aisle an just looked at me. She never said anything to me. When I said something about staring at me like I am going to steal something she walked away. Then when went down the aisle my niece was on she came to that aisle and did the same thing. When got the register she came there to and was talking to me niece why watching me.The manager is white and I am black. My niece on the other hand is mixed and really light in complexion.I always shop at that location and I have never felt so uncomfortable.

Went to Sally's to get a tonerT14 and 050 with 10 developer, explained not using it now going to continue with treatments. I explained that my hair dresser had recommended these, I couldn't see here since I was a month before I would see her. Asked receptionist if this would be a good for my hair or what else she could recommend. Said she should not be telling me what I should do over the phone, answer back to her was I wasn't asking you that I was asking should I use this or something else. Answer back was I can't give you a answer, I went to Sally's for advice as well as buying products, was explained to her you can see my colour were my hairdresser can not so what do you recommend, answer again not comfortable with giving you a answer. If your staff cannot give a answer regarding colour what to use then why do you have them working there. Have had one on one with people in the past and this is not what and how I would of replied back, could of been another option like for example...since you are continuing with treatments to make your hair healthy this would work or here is another suggestion? Will not be recommending Sally's not impressed.

I have purchased 4 sets of tape in human hair extensions since January and spent hundreds of dollars. After only a few washings and a few weeks, the hair begins tangling as if it is several months old instead of only a few weeks old. This is NOT the same quality hair that I have previously gotten from Sally's. I don't know what's going on but this hair is like synthetic hair and I am not pleased.

1/26/2021 After an 11 hour work day, I entered Sally's Beauty to return some make-up sponges my husband erroneously purchased for me on 8/24/20. I walked in with my ridiculously large paper Sally's bag that my husband paid an additional.15 cents for (WHY?!).
The employee behind the counter asks if I need help, I start to head towards the make-up sponges as I explain I am exchanging or returning. The woman behind the counter then demands I give her my bag and product. This infuriated me, accusing me of shoplifting because I have your BIG bag with your little sponges? Really? I work way too hard to be treated as a thief. I decided I need nothing from Sally's other than a refund for the $4.49 unopened sponges.
The woman then marks my receipt returned and starts the process. But first she holds up the unopened package and asks me if they were used? I asked if she was serious and to antagonize me she asks me 7 more times if the unopened item was used!? Clearly I am on fire now and want to leave with my refund. After attempting the return a few times she then tells me she cannot refund because it has been over 90 days... Are you kidding me? Sally's, how dare you. This country is in the middle of a pandemic! All businesses are having to act out of the normal practices due to the pandemic. We have dealt with illness and have stayed home out of extreme caution. I cannot believe you refuse to refund me 4.49 out of your 90 day return policy during a pandemic. I called the corporate number to be told, sorry we can't manipulate the register. Nonsense, and yes I refused the merchandise credit because i, nor anyone in my family, will ever visit sally's beauty. I am appalled at your lack of customer service and it seems you think you have enough business to not miss a few disgruntled customers. Make it right and provide me with a refund for the $4.49 unopened/unused sponges!

Defective Blow Dryer and they won't return my money!
Brought a blow dryer defective and they won't return my money due to COVID-19, the blow dryer is damaged they will not resale it due to that why I can't get my money.
Zero regard/respect of employees & customers by sally head office
I recently filed a complaint regarding the lack of any camera/security at one certain location, which was the target of an incident ; where the employees were threatened by an out of control drugged up freak. After contacted Sally HQ - I honestly thought they might review the internal security and offer a solution to give a little care for the safety of both the customers & employees. I was wrong - they answered by saying they couldn't afford to put a camera in at this time - This is the only store, ANYWHERE as far as I know that has no security camera - this is NOT acceptable. This tells me that to the people who own Sally, profit is the only goal & people are not worth the couple hundred bucks it would take to get a camera put into store # 5571, 941 Taunton Road east, in Oshawa, Ontario - Thanks for nothing - enjoy your money - The safety of your employees and customers is obviously not a priority.
Can't get a response from them and never received my product (ordered 05/06/20)
I ordered two different items, application bottles and application gloves. I recieved the bottles but not the gloves. Sallys says they shipped them and they charged my credit card for them, but I never got them, only the bottles. I have been trying to get them to contact me for over a month now and they won't even respond. All I get is a canned email that says we will contact you and I can't even get through on the phone.
