Like all the other complaints I signed up for $5 for 2 coffee mugs and a sample of coffee. They immediately charged my account 38.85, which I didn't see on my statement for a month. in the meantime I received another shipment of 4 bags of coffee. I called their customer service and she said it was probably a mistake from what she could determine and that I should just enjoy the free coffee. The enxt week I received 8 more bags of coffee, and when I contacted them they told me I was signed up for aut0matic shipments, which I had NOT signed up for. She said she would immediately credit my account and cancel the account. It is 3 weeks later and I have enough coffee to feed the state and they charged me over 150.00. I have once again contacted customer service and told them I would refuse any further deliveries. The sad thing is that their coffee is WONDERFUL and I would buy it, but not in these insane amounts! Beware of their tactics and customer non-service.

I order from them one time. I keep getting coffee from them every other day for two weeks. They keep taking money out of my account unauthorized. Each time it around $40. I have over drawen checks because of them. I keep calling them and they tell me I'm off there list sure enough I keep getting more. I live on a fixed income. They still won't give my money back.

wow these people have apparently not changed a thing, as I am caught up in this scam now. worst thing is the coffee sucks to begin with! i was fine with the $25 initial and even if they were sending coffee every 2 weeks i could understand that and it would be my fault for not reading the details, but they're sending coffee and billing me EVERY TWO DAYS! fortunately i was able to get someone (i called after their posted customer service hours) and supposedly my account will be canceled but i think i'll have to get a new card number anyway just in case...

I placed one order for $25 as a promotion for two travel mugs, two coffee cups, and two bags of coffee (which was terrible, by the way). A few days later? Another shipment of coffee. I was confused. I thought that maybe the order hadn't been completed originally. Then a few days later? Another package. And today? You guessed it. I called my credit company tonight... SEVEN charges in SEVENTEEN days. The credit card is now closed, but this damage has been done.

I already threw away some of the coffee (yuck!). But now that I see this is a sophisticated scam, I'm wondering if I should bother sending the rest of it back (and having to pay the shipping!) in the hopes of a refund? Or just go through the BBB (whom I will contact anyway). Advice on how others have succeeded lately?

I was sent two shipments of coffee which I did not order on March 23, 2009. I immediatley called and was told to refuse the shipments and when they were received my card would be credited. It is now May 5, 2009 and after several calls to the company and one fax they have sent my credit union that they would be crediting the card $77.90 I still have not received anything.

Initial offer was $5.00 for 2 lbs of coffee and a grinder. I received 2 lbs of coffee, 2 travel mugs and 2 coffee mugs and was charge $25.00. I called and canceled my account but am still receiving shipments every 2-3 days for $38.95 each. I've contacted my bank and am contesting all charges from Seattle Coffee Direct!

I received extra coffee when I signed up for your promotion that I didn't order but was charged for it. I contacted the company and spoke with a customer service agent and she told me that as soon as the other shipments came in just refuse them and when they received them back I would have a refund of the two charges of $38.95 each to my credi card. This has been over a mont now and I still have not rec eived my refund. I wuld greatly appreciate it ifyou would please look into ths matter and get me my money back.

I contracted for samples of Seattle Coffee. The company charged my Master Card three times - once for the $5.00 the offer claimed was the cost, and twice for $38.95 - not mentioned in the offer. I have rfeceived nothing from Seattle Direct and Google has not taken me to a company website.

On 5/1/09, I also sent in for the free trial offer (paying for shipment only) and then called on 5/7 to cancel after trying the coffee (it's HORRIBLE), and found on my bank statement that my account had been charged $38.95 not once, but twice, on 5/11 & 5/12, for additional shipments, both of which resulted in $40 bank overdraft fees. I called again to complain, and was told they had no record of my cancellation, and, furthermore, that I had enrolled in the twice weekly shipment program! (Who drinks 4 lbs. of coffee a week, and if they do, why not order it by the month to avoid shipping?) Anyway, I was asked to provide my bank's fax # so they could make a refund. No refund. Called the bank about the overdraft fees and advised to file a fraudulent charge claim. Meanwhile, still out $120 for the coffee and $80 in overdraft fees.

Regarding seattle coffee direct, this past week I had the same problem with them. I ordered their trial offer of coffee & mugs for $25.00, with in a few days, I owed $144.00 . Icheck my bank statements almost daily, within two days of original order, another charge was made for $38.95 two days in a row. A couple of days later 2 more charges, I called & complained & demanded my money back. One more charge has been made. According to them & I took down names, money would be refunded when shipments were returned. Allhave been returned I amwaiting on my money a TOTAL of $188.00 . They are very deceptive .

We didn't do enough research and got "stung" by their newest offer. We signed up for the $5.00 intro offer on 5/16/2009 believing their statement in their terms that the first shipment would not occur for a month, allowing us to cancel should be not like the coffee. However, on 5/18/2009, before the introl offer ever arrived, we were charged for the first of 4 UNAUTHORIZED shipments. Each shipment was billed at $38.96 (12-oz bags at $12.50 + 6.98 for each of 2 bags) for a total FRAUDULENT charge of almost $160! We canceled, returned the coffee, and have requested both our bank and VISA to reverse the charges. Since then, I discovered that “SeattleCoffeeDirect.com” is also known as “MetroCoffeeDirect.com”, “GlobalCoffeeDirect.com”, and “CoffeeRoastersDirect.com”! It’s obvious (at least to me) that they are an “agile” company in today’s rapidly changing e-business environment — they change their name frequently to HIDE . . .

Oh great, looks like I will not be getting my money back any time soon. I order the promotion of 5 for $25 and then started getting more and more every week and was charged $38 for all these bags that I didn't order! So not only did I get charged for a bunch of coffee that I didn't order, I also got charged the $25 for the first order and never even got that one! When I called to cancel all the orders they told me to send the unwanted orders back and I would be credited back the money I was owed. This was 3 months ago! I finally got a refund confirmation that said it would take up to 14 business days to refund my money but when 2 weeks past and I still didn't get it I called again and their new excuse was that their was an error with my account. NO THERE IS NOT! They have the right #, they just wont give me my money back. This is illegal! This company should be shut down!

I'm trying to get charges reversed for coffee I haven't even received yet. Went to the Better Business Bureau online and filed a complaint there. The "parent" company of all these coffee scams is Peel, Inc. out of Chicago. Theoretically if you get a delivery you can send it back via UPS, unopened, saying you REFUSE delivery. That's supposed to get you a refund, but I'm not waiting. I filed with BBB and will hopefully get some resolution soon. (I'm going through the same thing with some green tea/hoodia junk -- ALL of which is the result of thinking I could get a free Blackberry just for "trying" So-and-So's products. You'd think I'd have known better...)

I purchased some of the companie's coffee for $25. I did not authorize them to bill me 38.95 2 additional times. It does not say anywhere on the site https://www.seattlecoffeedirect.com that you agree to multiple charges. it mentions a subscription, but it does not imply you are signing up for it in any way shape or form. These people have overdrawn my bank account and I have incurred 2 $35 NSF fees because of these charges. They sent a release form to my bank yesterday for one of the 38.95 charges but never released the funds on their end. They refused to give me a number to contact their corporate offices or to let me speak to anyone higher than a supervisor. The supervisor I spoke to was Beverley, and she said they would not refund my NSF fees either. This company is committing devious acts to get people signed up for their services. I could buy kona for cheaper than what they are charging! 2 of the shipments have already been sent out, and I understand they must receive them back before I can be credited for those, but the 38.95 that was still pending until today should be returned immediately with the $70 worth of NSF fees.

I wish I'd found all this before I ordered! They did the same thing to me. Sent me three orders for $38.95 each. Each one sent out two days apart! I guess they want to hurry up and get their money before we have a chance to catch on! I have been trying to get them to return my money. I sent all the coffee back. What a Fraudulent Company. I too, foolishly filled out a sample order form for Seattle Coffee Direct. I thought I was getting a trial offer, 5 for $25.00. Not really that good of a deal, but I was willing to try it! On 5/08/09 I was billed the $25.00 for my trial offer. On 5/11/09 I was billed an additional $38.95 for my next shipment, that I hadn't even ordered! I hadn't even tasted the trial shipment coffee yet! When I checked my bank account online, there were TWO more orders for $38.95 in the pending activity! I immediately called the company and told them to cancel my order and return my money! The girl on the phone laughed and said just return the coffee. I did, and I am still trying to get my money back. I am definitely reporting them to the BBB. I am also going to contact the Attorney General. This is fraud, plain and simple.

I got this one settled with Seattle Coffee: they refunded my money within 72 hours of being notified by the BBB. Now I'm waiting to get my money back from the other dietary supplement outfit: weeks after I cancelled my "membership" with them (Acaipur is one of their company names), they were still taking money out of my checking account. I had to cancel my debit card and open a new one to prevent further fraud.

I signed up for a "no purchase necessary" item - just pay shipping and handeling. I received 2 lbs of coffe and then 3 days later I received another 2 lbs. Two weeks later I had received 24 lbs of coffee in total. I called the company after I had receved 4 packages and they told me that I was signed up for their "membership" and that 2 lbs of coffe were being shipped every othere day! for each shipment I was charged 38.95. SCAM! SCAM ! SCAM! I returned all the coffe via USPS ($14.00) and I'm still waiting for a refund to my credit card... 3 week into waiting! Look luck to all that try this please learn from my huge mistake!

Oh I hear you. I ordered on an add that said 5 for 5, then after you order their add says 5 for 5 each. If it were 5 for 5 each, I would of NEVER ordered it. Then the started shipping things I did not order twice a week and are charging me almost 40 bucks per shipping. I dont think so. I will be returning the orders, and I better damn well get my money back. I already told them that I should of searched their company out first. I am so sick of being ripped off by people.

Never, ever, ever order coffee from this company! I placed one order with them, for a total of $25, which was for several coffees and 2 coffee travel mugs. Seattle Coffee charged my credit care$38 10 SEPERATE times in a period of 2 weeks! I kept receiving packages of coffee in the mail every other day! They billed me so frequently that my card automatically was cancalled and reported stolen. When I called the company they arrogantly informed me that when I had made my purchase I had signed up for their coffee club. First of all I did no such thing! I made one purchase and NEVER assented to membership in their little "club". Secondly, what kind of club sends two large packages of the same coffee to a person every other day, totally more than $300 in less than three weeks?!?! Finally, the original order I had placed for $25 was never filled as I never received the mugs at all. The coffee is mediocre at best, the company is dishonest and unscrupulous and has cause me such a headache. Stay away from this company I urge you! They are operating completely dishonestly and they deserve to be brought down.

UPS brought me a package that I signed for yesterday. When I opened the box--I thought I opened someone elses package. In the box was 2 bag's of gourmet coffee bean's-2coffee mug's and 2 travel mug's. I called the 800 number on the box and told them I did not order the content's--there was no receipt in the box-I was told it was ordered with my credit card and the man gave me the last 4 number's on my card. I don't drink coffee---I was told 25.00 was charged to my account and I would get credit back. I then had to call my credit card co. to get a new card--I have to wait 10-17 day's for a new card now. This purchase was made over the internet--I will ck. with my bank tomorrow to see if I was credited the 25.00--if not--I will go to the BBB and make a claim . This is outrageous--going through all this trouble because someone illegally used my credit card--gee could it have been theSeattle Coffee direct Co.? Pissed off in Indiana.

Total SCAM! it's funny how similar all of these complaint are. I ordered, and was billed 3 times in 3 days and sent 3 shipments within 3 days. I called and they said "well you didn't check how frequently you wanted coffee" First of all I did and it showed so on the receipt, which by the way I had to request they send to me. I also asked for tracking numbers which they never sent me. So back to the "how frequently you want shipments" box. Even if I hadn't checked it does anyone think a reasonable shipment schedule is two pounds of coffee every other day?
Called, the guy immediately said "okay just return and we'll refund" clearly it's a rehearsed reaction didn't ask for explanation or try to keep me or explain just "okay, thanks." Thanks because in the meantime they're holding my money in their accounts for up to 90 days as they have a 60 refund window.
I called back again after the first refund was issued but the other two were not. Total run around, finally spoke to a manager and she too was evasive and just stuck to the script of "oh it's our policy for 60 days" so I'm like you're basically stealing money from my account for 90 days while you collect interest on it, it takes 2 seconds to pull it from my credit card but 60 days to refund it? She says well we only get our mail from the warehouse every TWO WEEKS?!?! In 2009 they get their mail every two weeks? Yeah right. It's all just a SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS SERVICE.

I ordered and received my initial order from Seattle Coffee. However, I am now getting continued delivery of coffee every 2 -3 days. When I try to get into my account I am unable to. I have had no satisfaction from calling their customer service. I am not paying for all of these unasked for shipments!

It seems as if this is the usual thing for this company. I did the 5 for $5 deal which i knew would be $25. That's fine. But when 3 days after I got the initial shipment, I rcvd 4 more bags of coffee. I didnt sign up for any auto ship program. On the terms and conditions section of their site, it clearly states they have an autoship program. Hey, thats cool. But IT DOES NOT say you are signing up for one.

So, they got me for $25. Thats cool. I can eat that. The coffee is ok. Not great but ok. But the 3 charges I have rcvd for about $39 a pop, those are going to go away. I'll try to let them refund my money. If not, thats cool. I'll have my bank backcharge them. Wife works for the bank, so we will be getting our money back. It's just if they want to do it the nice way.

Also, going ot make sure I complain to the better business bureau and the federal trade commission. We need to get this company shut down. They are screwing people left and right. Yes, they end up paying refund for a few orders here and there but what about all the people that just don't feel like fighting them? This company will stay in business if we do nothing.
