HORRIBLE company!

Their website is very misleading. I have not even had a chance to brew any of the coffee they sent me, but I am now the unhappy ownder of 3 shipments... in about 8 days! They say that:

"Monthly shipments are an estimate. They may be more or less frequent.

SeattleCoffeeDirect may, in case of an inventory shortage, substitute one of your coffee selections with another variety in stock. In these situations, we typically give you two bags of the variety we have in stock. "

And this translates into "we will send you coffee as often as we please, and we don't care what you selected, we will send you what we have." MORE OR LESS FREQUENT! HA! I got three months worth of coffee in a week! They are not even the Flavors I ordered! I have 6 bags of coffee that I didn't order, costing me 35 bucks a shipment...over 100 bucks. I called and requested a refund, and they want the unopened bags returned. I called my bank to make sure they cannot charge me again. Stay away from these guys, and if you can think of a clever way to put them out of business, I would be interested in hearing it.

I signed up for this through a survey. I was under the impression that I would pay $25.00 to initially try the product/services. I received the two mugs as described along with two bags of coffee. I have since received two more bags of coffee but have been charged $38.75 TWICE. I am now out $102 and have received 4 bags of coffee. This is a ridiculous website and a big scam. Hopefully you are unlike me and it seems a few others that have been completely ripped off. What a terrible service.

I, too, have been scammed by Seattle Coffee Direct...They sent me extra coffee along with the intro. package.. and con't. to send coffee...I have called them once (so far) and my account was suppose to be closed and I was to be credited for returned coffee...I have so far returned 5 unordered shipments of coffee but haven't seen any charges refunded on credit card...I regret ever getting involved with company and will never order coffee from anybody, on-line or thru the mail, ever again...I'll stick with store brand coffee or instant coffee from now on...I would never recommend this or any other coffee company of this type to anyone...Don't just walk away from these types of offers...RUN!

I know better than top respond to these things... my fault.

Please be aware. Do not order anything from Seattle Coffee Direct.

I, like others, have ordered a small trial for a small amount of money. However, they charged more than they said. And then, they charged my account for more a few weeks later. I had never authorized them to charge my account or send me more. I sent the packages back "return to sender" and when I called to get a refund of my money the lady said that "as a courtesy" she would refund it. I laugh because she was doing me a "favor" for something that was not authorized in the first place.

Be very aware. Go to your local grocery store and buy coffee instead. Much safer and they won't over charge you for something you don't want!

Same problem. They charged me 9.00 then about 30 days later, they charge me 38.95. I canceled the membership and sent back the coffee for a full refund. I sent the coffee back on 10/31/08 and still I have not seen a refund. They are trying to give me the run around and hold my money.

Seattle Coffee Direct is garbage. I have also been charges 39.95 for coffee that i didnt receive. The coffee is garbage and i cannot get a hold of anyone from the number on the label on the package. I would also like a refund of my money for the items that I didnt receive. This is a scam and a fraud and this company makes all other decent companies look extremely bad. Companies like these need to be reported and closed. I am reporting to BBBonline for this nonsense and fraud.

Fortunately I saw the charge before I got the bag with the $20 a pound coffee. I called and canceled the auto shipments no one told me they would start the next day nor did they say it was $20.00 a pound. Crazy! They told me to return the bag when I got it so when the ups guy showed up I refused it and sent it back Return to Sender that way they have to pay the shipping back not me. They said I have to wait 30 days to see a refund of the 38.75 but I filed a dispute with the credit card company just incase they decide to try and keep my money and the coffee. Juan Valdez should be truely outraged, I'll bet he never got paid 20 bucks a pound.

I took survey and made an committment for one order in exchange for points on facebook. they have charged my credit card for three additional shipments of which I knew nothing about until I checked my credit card on line today. I did receive one additional shipment which I thought was part on the original order which had already come off my credit card. I am still trying to reach them at the customer service number. I am on my second day of trying every hour or so . I am reporting them to Maryland's Better Business Bureau and the Md State's Attorney's Office.

This company is a piece of work. My adventure initiated with TrialPay.com and I was offered the coffee as a means getting a free download of a software for converting music files to mp3s. I agreed to a $25 charge for 5 pounds of coffee that turned out to be undrinkable. Seattle Coffee then made several charges of $38.95 to my credit card. Once I discovered the charges, I emailed TrialPay and then called my credit card company. Both entities were great at getting me a refund. But then I found that the charges have since resumed (4 more charges of $38.95 in the past 3+ weeks). I was faced with a similar scam when I lived in Florida and filed a complaint against a New Jersey-based company through the Federal Trade Commission. Several months later, I received a letter from the Florida Attorney General to let me know that they were investigating the company and wanted me to fill out an affidavit. I am filing a similar complaint about SeattleDirect and might also contact the Illinois Attorney General's office directly.
In the meantime I suggest that any one else do the same, but do call your credit card company immediately. Let's get this company out of business!

Like so many of the other complaints that I've read about this company I fell victim to a trial pay offer that, on the face of it, sounded like an outstanding offer for a software upgrade that I really needed. The offer was two bags of coffee, two coffee mugs and two travel mugs for $25. So I jumped at the offer and on Dec. 12th placed my order. On Monday the 15th I checked my account only to find that I was almost $40 short. I then looked at the itemized list of charges to my account only to find that I had indeed been charged the $25 but that I had also been charged an additional $38.95 on Sunday the 14th. I haven't yet tried to seek recourse and renumeration since it is only just now that I discovered this transgression, but I will do so immediately after posting this complaint.

I was offered a free download of McAfee virus protection if I signed up to order coffee. What I was not told was the exorbitant price of the coffee and that it would be sent out every week! For example, the first order was billed at $25.this amount bought 2 large nice coffee mugs, 2 metal coffee mugs and 2 bags (12 oz. each) of flavored coffee. I considered that a reasonable price. However, for the next 3 weeks, always on Friday, 2 12 oz. bags of coffee were delivered, by UPS so it was not easily returnable, and each batch was billed to my debit card for a whopping $38.95! 1 and 1/2 lbs of coffee is not worth anywhere NEAR $38.95! I called the company and was told that I needed to call UPS to pick the coffee up in order to return it and that I would get a refund within 10 days AFTER the coffee was received. Without a Return authorization number or any other way to verify that the company receives the return, I seriously doubt that I will ever see the money again. A word to the wise or to those who assume that a name such as McAfee would be associated with a legitimate company..

I called the number to inquire about how to return all of the unwanted coffee. I was told that the company ships EVERY WEEK .I can't drink 24 oz of ground coffee every week not to mention that $38.95 for 1 and 1/2 lbs of coffee is absolutely ridiculous. The person that answered my call was not at all helpful in explaining just how to return the coffee. According to her, I should just call UPS and they will pick it up. Once the company receives the coffee, it will still take 10 days for a refund. Why do I find this hard to believe? Without some type of Return Authorization number, how can I be credited? RIPOFF, RIPOFF, RIPOFF.These people need to be put out of business and immediately as I now see that they have been scamming people for at least 2 years!

I signed up for the promotion and received what I had asked for. No where in their ad did it mention that they would be sending additional shipments and charging me for them. I have received two additional charges and two additional shipments that I had not ordered. The charges for the additional bags of coffee are extremely high with the shipment charges.

The coffee came fast - two packages every week at $40 for less than two pounds! There was no disclosure, no information, no invoice, and no internet way to contact Seattle Coffee Direct (and now the charges are from Metro Coffee Roasters). Even an avid coffee fan could not use the coffee this fast, or would be willing to pay the exorbitant charge. It looks like my credit card will have to be canceled and reissued. Quite the scam.

I absolutely hate them...I joined them thinking that I was going to be getting coffee monthly. I mean their terms are so vague. I haven't opened any packages from them and are sending them back! In 3 weeks I have been charged around 180.00 SERIOUSLY! And one of them occurred after I cancelled the service. This is unacceptable I am talking to my bank as I type and wanted to know if anyone has asked a lawyer about everything. When I spoke to them they said that you had to call because the system automatically defaults you into weekly service! Who wants to pay that much for coffee good or bad on a weekly basis. I am wondering if anyone has consulted a lawyer?

Seattle Coffee Direct advertised getting coffee, mugs & travel mugs for $5.00. Today I checked my credit card statement and i was billed on 1/18 for $25.00 under Seattle Coffee Direct and on 1/21 was billed $38.95 under the name Metro Coffee Roaster. both companies are the same. I have been charged $63.95 for a order that was suppose to be $5.00. Telephone number that I have for them is [protected]. I was unable to reach them in reference to these charges.

Continued appropriation of funds from my bank account after confirmed cancellation of services and specific demand to cease withdrawal of funds, ; immediately after cancellation company, through other dummy company made two withdrawals from account for zero goods as well as having already being told that legal action was forth coming. Someone besides myself needs to also begin legal action to cease this thieving.

I received an email for an introductory offer for Seattle Coffee Direct- for $5.00, I was supposed to get a pound of their coffee, 2 insulated travel mugs, and 2 coffee cups. I signed up online, and authorized ONLY a $5.00 charge.

When I got my credit card bill, Seattle Coffee Direct had charged my card $25.00 on 1/6/09, then $38.95 on 1/7/09. Then on 1/14/09, my card was charged $38.95 AGAIN by a company called Belleza Coffee that I can find NO information on (so I am assuming it is again Seattle Direct Coffee, since it is also based in Evanston, IL). At any rate, I have never placed an order with a company called Belleza Coffee, so- still fraudulent.

I tried to call Seattle Direct multiple times to get this straightened out, but always got a recording, even when I called during business hours. After calling 3 times, leaving my name and number each time, I left them a message letting them know I was alerting my credit card company, which I promptly did, reporting the activity as fraudulent and (on the advice of my credit card company) the card as stolen so that Seattle Direct couldn't try to rip me off any further.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS- They charged me all that money and never even sent the original order!

I also have had a bad experience with Seattle Coffee. I received a "trial order" which I paid $25.00 for. About 2 days later I received another shipment which they charged me $38.00 for and of which I had no knowledge of signing up for. I contacted them and told them I would be shipping it back to them unopened. They told me they would refund my money back asap. I checked my credit card on 1/15/09 but I had not received a refund. They said it would take about 6 days to process. I just checked again on 2/03/09 but they still have not refunded my money back. I called again and they said they saw where they received it but for some reason the refund wasn't processed. They said this would be sent on to the manager and it would take about 6 more working days to process the refund. WHAT A RIPOUFF!

Incredible a company could do this and get away with it. I was about to sign up for a smiliar promotional offer, but before I did I did a quick google search to see customer reviews for the cofee and this was the first page I clicked. Thank you all for posting this, I will not buy this coffee now and it seems like you saved me a lot of trouble. I wish you all luck, I will see if I can find information from my lawyer freinds about how to stop this.

I also signed up for their promotional coffee deal, two plain white mugs, and two bags of coffee for 10. It cost me $25 dollars. Before I could even receive the coffee my credit card was billed $38.95 for the next shipment. Hell, I hadn't even tasted the coffee before I paid for it and of course getting a credit on my card never happened! I will never, and I mean never buy from this company again and I have informed everyone I know about this scam!

Sorry but my phone number was listed as their phone number during my complaint against this company. I have relisted the phone number as found in the Illinois phone book. Due to all the phone calls I have gotten I guess this company continues to do what they had done to me I would say its about time someone put them out of business. Their telephone # id [protected]. I hope this helps anyone else that gets caught in their web.
