Seelye of Paw Paw was an excellent choice to purchase our car for our daughter
Seelye of Paw Paw was an excellent choice to purchase our car for our daughter. The service department is exceptional and extremely helpful. We'd like to specifically recognize John Doe, the sales representative, who seemed to have gone out of his way to help find us a car. In fact, when looking for another car, he had his connections out to help locate one for us. It's as if he would do anything for his clients. That's the overall experience we received whenever we have dealt with Seelye of Paw Paw. So grateful we went with them. We really almost feel like we have a friend in John Doe.

TOXIC MASCULINITY + NARCISSISM (1) Card was run when a check was the agreed method of payment (2) Blamed/Guilted for their mistakes (3) Bullied into a deal to line their pockets I came into the dealership pre-approved and ready to go. Called ahead to have the car ready to go for a test drive. Did my checks on the vehicle, asked my questions, was overly honest about my Subaru trade-in (even had an employee interested in buying it), and then everything that could go wrong did. The first issue being my paperwork being withheld from me; even though, I paid $2k as a partial down payment to return with the other half via check. But then my card was run WITHOUT A PHONE CALL and the second issue came to light. The second issue - the wrong bank information was entered on the contract. Even though I verbally walked through the document before signing; to ensure all the information was correct - the first time. Never got my original paperwork after RESIGNING a SECOND CONTRACT; and when I asked, Jeremy tried to tell me I didn't need it because that deal is dead. Doesn't matter - if my signature is on something, I want a copy for my records; just in case - but I guess that's too much to ask. The third and final straw, I got a call from their bank telling me not only had they spelled MY NAME wrong but I would need to RESIGN the contract...AGAIN. Thankfully, I was able to go back to my personal bank and get a MUCH BETTER rate, warranty, and GAP insurance than Seeyle could offer. Every conversation, Jeremy was negative ("just wants this deal to be done and over") and made me feel like it was my fault this chaos ensued. As if I should be grateful you're willing to drive documents to me after you messed up - when you're only willing to drive said documents if I used your bank. But now that I'm using my bank, I have to come to you. Not to mention the unsolicited advice to "diverse my portfolio" by using a separate bank. Not even taking into consideration loyalty and trust I have with my bank. AND he felt the need to mansplain GAP insurance and why I didn't need it. The answer/explanation as to why they pushed their bank was to do a deal and drive away with the car, I needed to go through their bank; otherwise, I would have to get the check from my bank and blah, blah, blah - no one asked if this would be an inconvenience, it was assumed. I would have gladly returned with a check and picked up my car. But NO ONE ASKED. I said multiple times I would prefer my bank - but Mai and Jeremy insisted their offer was better. If only I had been a man because then I'm sure "no means no" would have been heard. Definitely got below value for my Subaru ($500) - because you know, they gotta make money too and can't give me Kelly Blue Book value. No - they will do ANYTHING to make a sale in their favor. Horrible communication and will make the customer feel some level of guilt if anything goes wrong. I can't wait to be done with this dealership. The only good thing and why I gave two stars - I love my new car.

Replace all *(asterisks) with appropriate text in review about Seelye of Paw Paw:
engine light flashing and still having issues after several attempts of dealer trying to fix it. Vehicle started flashing engine light and stalling out while running back in November . Took it to Seelye in Paw Paw and they said it was a bad cylinder head. Got that covered under an extended warranty. After that, the engine light came on again and we took it back to the dealer. They then said it was the O2 sensor and catalytic converter. We paid over $1400 to have that fixed to then within a day have the exact same issue. Took it back to the dealer and got the run around to in the end them tell us that we needed to replace more O2 sensors. I personally feel the converter was an unnecessary repair. I went back and forth with the dealer for a few days to have them call and say they would do the additional O2 sensors at no charge. That was nice except that repair was $300 not the $1400 we had previously paid. The Service Advisor called and said that I should call the manufacturer and tell them that the converter failed due to the cylinder head going out. I called the manufacturer and the lady I spoke with was very helpful. I explained the situation to her and she agreed that the part would be covered as a good will. She gave me a case number and told me to have the dealer call her if they had questions. The dealer called and spoke with the manufacturer's representative who said it would not be covered. Now we are at the point where neither the manufacturer's representative or the dealer will call me back to explain why the goodwill part was reversed. The dealer of course is not willing to refund our money and they are just pointing the finger at one another. I would like a customer good will for the unnecessary part that they put on my vehicle.
