debt collection
This company contacted me about a credit card debt that is over eight years old, from when I was married to my former husband. I was vaguely aware that there is a statute of limitations on old credit card debt, but when I asked the rep, a Mr. Lendell about this, he said no, there is no statue of limitations on collection of credit card debt. According to all the information I can find on the internet, this is a LIE. In my state, the statue of limitations is five years. Watch out! Their company website goes on and on about how they treat consumers with dignity and respect in these hard economic times. Oh put away the violins! I don't consider being lied to being treated with dignity or respect.

This company keeps calling me at odd hours of the day and continues to call until I answer the phone
This company keeps calling me at odd hours of the day and continues to call until I answer the phone. They claim that I own for a PUD bill which I paid in full months ago. I requested that they send me something in writing that shows the name of their company and a breakdown of what I owe.
They refused so I refused to give them my credit card over the phone. Every time they call they really push for me to give them my credit card number which makes me feel like they are a scam. When I requested to talk to the manager, John Anderson, he threatened to sue me over $36.43 if I did not pay the bill now. I then asked him if he was going to really sue me and he told me to “shut my mouth”! I hung up.
Keep trying to collect a debt that was paid twice. Once seven years ago once 5 years ago. I have proof it was paid November 17, 2003. Have the Electronic check (front and back) And a statement saying the amount was being withdrawn.
When you have a company usinf drugs and selling drugs in the parking lot how care you take them seriously? I am surprised their clients allow this behaviour.
Fraud
Received a call from Sentry Credit concerning a open account with a local bank. I informed the collection specialist that I wanted to pay this debt and requested a payment plan and that this debt not be reported to the credit Bureau.
She informed me that she couldn't authorize this and I would have to speak to a manager. I was placed on hold then transferred, I reviewed my request again for a payment plan (that what start with a payment today.) and I was told they needed payment in full during a 30 day window to avoid this being reported.
I told her I couldn't afford to clear this matter in that time frame and asked her if they could work anything out for me. Her reply was I am looking at your 401K statement and that you own a house worth XXX. She was suggesting I cash in my 401K (that was been hammered with losses) and they I could take out a second mortgage on my house(which has lost over 120K in value).
I told her that she couldn't have access to my 401K because that wasn't a matter of public record. I told her she was lying to me about having this information and she started making excuses.
Lastly I asked for your name and title, I then found out she wasn't a manager and that she was another collection specialist who couldn't even authorize or deny my requests.
I find it funny in this time of financial hardship that they would treat me this way when all I wanted to do was pay this balance and move forward.

Harrasment
I have been harrassed by this company. They have failed to provide me with the necessary information to settle a debt, and have tried to keep me from paying this debt to the actually debtor this whole time. I am a single mom and my kids were on state medical, they have a dead beat Dad and I work full time. My son went to the emergency room in November of 2007. I had a medical coupon and presented it to the hospital after service was provided. I thought the debt was cleared. I started recieving very rude, tasteless and threatening phone calls from Sentry Credit about an Emergency room vist. I told them I didn't understand why I owed them when I had state medical. They would yell, curse and scream at me on the phone. When I would ask them to not be smart or rude to me they would threaten to sue the company I worked for! When I would ask to speak with a supervisor the treatment was even worse. In the last phone call recieved I was screamed at but also finally given the information I needed that the hospital I went to subcontracts out to a place called North Sound Emergency Medicine. I contacted that place right away and settled the debt with insurance information. Sentry Credit is still fighting me on this, calling my workplace daily, yelling at me and everything even though I have settle the debt with the company owed. When will the harrassment end? Isn't there laws against this?

unknown-they have not told us
We are getting constant calls from a Sentry Credit. The person living in the home has care givers so we are not sure if the call is for me or for the caregivers. (maybe they gave out my number
There was a problem this year and the only one that would concern a credit bureau, although we have not gotten any help on what this is about. We were charged a $25 fee for ISF from Comcast of Florida. We paid our bill completely but not a $25 fee ISF fee. Instead we sent a letter from the bank and the bank also called Comcast, left their number to let them know that there was no reason to charge us for ISF in our bank account. Comcast dragged this out for months assuring us that the department that was now handling the problem would take care of it. Then the next department would handle it. My attorney said to have them send proof that this was something that belonged to me and not someone else who entered the wrong account number. But Comcast never supplied any info to verify that this was actually my account problem, they just posted the fee on my account. *Why would they when there was only my proof it was not. Next thing we know the calls started, but again there are caregivers in the home and they could have used the phone number.
The account that they are accusing us of the ISF is in Florida and we live in Michigan. Which attorney general do we write to-Michigan or Florida? What do we do next? Maybe we should go to court for $25 to show our documents and then maybe we will get to see some proof of ISF in my account. I don't think Comcast or any company like ATT or the local gas company for that matter should be able to charge for something that they are not showing proof and they have the letter stating that at no time in April 2009 was my account overdrawn or had any type of insufficient funds.
Seems like a lot of calls and harassment for $25, So first of all we need to know if they are trying to collect the $25 in dispute with Comcast or if this is about a caregiver who gave my name and phone number out.
If we cannot call and find this info out then what should we do. Get my phone disconnected, changed and unlisted?
I do have the letter from the bank that I am attaching--the account number is the account of Comcast in Florida along with the bill my son copied to show that the $25 is for ISF. Now if they had some kind of computer problem, I should not be charged the consequences. I got so many stories when I called Comcast, that was one of them.
I am 94 years old, I have never owed anyone any money and I have never cheated anyone. But I don't want to be cheated either. And it seems Comcast is cheating me since I did not ever this year have ISF in my account and I paid the rest of my bill.
Seems like they are sure going to a lot of trouble for $25 so I am worried it could be the caregiver. Thank you.

I have over 8 years experience in this field and a working relationship with a law firm who specializes in cases like yours that may have them PAY YOU!
this is the worst chop shop (collection agency) i have ever dealt with. I CALLED THEM TO PAY MY DEBT. i set up a one time draft to pay my balance off in full and this "Ron Allen" took the fund from my bank account well before the date i authorized...when i called and asked why he said "CUS I DONT LIKE YOU!" then denied me my balance paid letter... if you unfortunate to have a account placed here i would make sure you record your call . THIS IS THE WEB SITE TO REPORT HIS VIOLATIONS OF THE FDCPA -------http://www.ftc.gov/complaint---------
THIS IS NOT THE FRIST OR LAST TIME THIS "MR. ALLEN" HAS DONE THIS ...TAKE THE TIME AND REPORT BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE ! IT ONLY TAKES 3 MINS
