I had a less than desirable experience with Shea Shea Bakery. I made an order way back in January and it's now the end of March, but still no sign of my shipment. I reached out to the company for an update, but they initially apologized and gave me an excuse, but still couldn't confirm whether my order has been shipped. Even worse, they stopped responding to my emails entirely.
I eventually had to take matters into my own hands and escalate the issue to PayPal, but even that didn't spur them into action. They claim that the pandemic is to blame for the delay, but I find this excuse hard to swallow. I've placed orders with plenty of other companies all over the world since the pandemic started, and I've never had to wait longer than a week to receive my orders.
I even placed an order that originated in Texas during their snowstorm and still managed to receive it, but nothing from Shea Shea Bakery. It's crazy to think that I can order wigs from China and receive them within a week, but can't seem to get my order from a company located right here in the USA. It all seems like a load of baloney to me.

Woaah, it's May of 2023 and I still can't believe Shea Shea Bakery hasn't learned from their past mistakes! You'd think that now that the pandemic is over, they'd be upping their game, but nope- they're still scamming their customers. It's such a bummer because I'm all about supporting Black-owned businesses, so this is highly disappointing.
So, I took a chance and placed an order with them on April 3rd, 2023 (my first time ordering from them, by the way), but now it's May 3rd and I STILL haven't received my package. I reached out to them via email and they gave me a tracking number, but when I checked it, it said "Ready to Ship: Pre-shipment info sent USPS awaits item." Ugh.
I sent them another email the following week, which was the week they promised my package would arrive, but I haven't heard back from them at all. Meanwhile, they're on social media, posting about their new renovations and promoting other businesses (which makes me think they've been using the money they scammed from people to fund their own ventures).
Honestly, I don't think anyone should do business with Shea Shea Bakery. They've scammed so many people and I wouldn't be surprised if they start asking for donations on GoFundMe again in the near future. Spread the word- let's make sure no one else falls for their tricks!

After weeks of waiting in the dark, I reached out to usps to see if there were any updates regarding my package. They informed me that they never received any packages from Shea Shea Bakery, even though Shea Shea Bakery assured me on their website that they had already shipped my order on 2/23.
Unsure of what to do next, I decided to contact Shea Shea Bakery again. They informed me that it was usps' mistake and that the package was probably lost. They offered to file a claim and even gave me the option of receiving a refund. I was grateful for their response, but it took a few days for them to follow up with me again.
Feeling frustrated by the lack of communication, I did some online research and found several claims that Shea Shea Bakery has done this to other customers, deleting their negative comments and ignoring their complaints. After placing my order, I waited patiently for it to arrive. The website said that it can take anywhere from 4-6 weeks to receive orders, so I didn't expect it to come immediately. They blamed everything under the sun for the delay. They mentioned COVID-19, which we've all been enduring for over a year now. It didn't smell anything like strawberry's like the website said it would. It smelled more like watermelon kiwi, which was not what I had hoped for.
The candle, however, did smell really good. But I have to say, I think $25 for a candle that small is a bit too much. I think Shea Shea Bakery is really good at making everything look amazing, but the reality of it is that their products aren't worth the price.

I reached out again after the store had been reopened for two weeks and today, they finally responded. How many people have they stolen from? They are dishonest and I would not recommend shopping here. Update: After seven months of waiting, I finally got my refund! I had to do a lot of extra work to get it, like commenting on the owner's Facebook picture, messaging her directly, and threatening to report them to the FTC (which I did). It took a friend of mine who recommended this brand to me a year ago just as much work to get her refund. If you're still waiting, report them to the FTC and then send them an email about it. It's unbelievable that a company would treat its customers this way.
