I had a great experience with Shleppers. When I started my search for a reasonably priced, reliable moving company I talked to a spectrum of businesses that charged an arm and a leg for my simple 1 bedroom move, and those that gave a very cheap quote, but were notorious for hidden costs and scams. Shleppers was both reasonably priced for my move (definitely a bargain compared to the market!) and also reliable, as I was recommended by a friend. The representative who worked on my quote was very attentive, transparent and trustworthy. My items were picked up with no issues (even though I was not there for pick up due to the pandemic) and delivered without damage. Everything was well organized and completed as promised. No extra costs and no damages. This move was from NYC to Seattle. Highly recommend for short or long distance moving.

Moving is challenging especially when you are relocating to another state. Shleppers Moving Company were able to ease the tension and stress of packing and organizing for us. From the time I inquired about their offering to the manicured quote they provided with an easy step by step process, the challenges of moving were reduced to a simple to-do added to my schedule. The *** and crew arrived on time, easily identifiable by their crew shirts. *** orchestrated a detailed room by room walk through in accordance with the move description on work order. The crew were warm and inviting and got to it once the walk through was concluded. They performed exceptionally. If and when I cross the (moving) bridge again, I will be sure to hitch a ride on the Shleppers Moving Company rig. Thank you for an outstanding display of professionalism. Well executed!

This was the smoothest move Ive done to date. The movers were timely, professional and efficient. The four men wasted no time getting the job done with caution for my belongings and a pleasant attitude all day. The quality assurance manager showed up midway through the move to check on everything, which was very reassuring. The company was easy to work with and would definitely use them again if I needed to move.
Loved our SECOND move with *** - initial contact was very pleasant and easy, price was reasonable, they showed up on time and prepared for everything we asked for and some things we didn't even know we needed! Lovely help. We would move with them again and probably will.

The definition of shlepper is is an inept person. In the case of my move I hired an inept person. The movers tightly folded and taped my king-sized mattress. It remained that way for about four hours. The mattress is ruined. Although I did not see the supervisor, the *** said that a supervisor saw the folded mattress as it was loaded onto the truck and did not make any changes. Additionally, the movers showed up a bit late and asked for a 20% cash tip in the early part of the move. I completed the Company's survey which was quickly responded to by the Company.. They resolved the tip issue and said they would work to resolve the mattress issue and that I would hear directly from the Company owner or representative. I never did. I attempted to reach them five times before posting this review -- still no response. I was offered only $95 for my $1700 mattress.

I needed a moving company to haul my belongings from *** to ***, ***. I was very skeptical and worried about using any moving company. Based on several reviews and after several calls with *** I decided to utilize Shleppers. They were professional, courteous and timely. I have to say, outside of a very small hiccup, I would totally use them again. I would definitely recommend Shleppers Moving & Storage.
Shleppers were extremely professional and incredibly organized. They worked very well as a team and made us feel our possessions were in good hands. This was our best move experience and would 100% hire again.
I have used *** every time Ive moved. They are professional and reliable. Super nice movers who are efficient. And if you are a repeat customer you get discounts which is great. I will keep coming back!

They had come to take inventory of our stuff, and gave us a price based on that. Once 90% of our stuff was in the truck, they said they had no more room and I would need to pay $600 for another vehicle. This was in clear violation of the contract.I disputed the additional charge with ***. Shleppers did not respond, and the dispute was resolved in my favor. I then received wild (almost deranged) threats of legal action from the *** (***). At the end of the exchange, I saw that they decided to just go ahead and charge my card again--a month after the move--without any authorization to do so.I disputed that charge (successfully) and put a block on their ability to charge my card again. They are now threatening legal action yet again.I waited this long because to write because I thought the movers themselves did a good job. But these people are nuts, so stay away.

We had a splendid experience with our move in today. Not only were the moving team on time, early. Saying that the move was smooth, but the guys sent were exceptionally efficient it respectful. We absolutely recommend this company.

My Shleppers moving experience this week was extremely smooth, organized and went without a hitch. The team of 3 were professional and courteous and took every precaution to protect and make this a seamless perfect move. The packing and un-packing is a must. I appreciated a call from the main office to check in with me and see how the move was actually going, nice touch. Payment was exactly as stated from the onset. No surprises. Team finished in timely manner doing great job. Cash tip...No *** moving. No B.S. Better than all the competitors. I highly recommend Shleppers Moving.

This is my third time using Shleppers over the past twelve years
This is my third time using Shleppers over the past twelve years. I come back to them because of their pricing and their service. It's easy to get in touch with an agent who will walk you through the details of your move. Supply them with a list of what needs to be moved and you will be given a price quote. This is one of the main reasons I like them: the quote is set (unless you make changes to what you are moving), and it is NOT hourly. So the movers have no incentive to drag things out. In my experience, Shleppers' movers have always been fast and efficient. Example: I had a huge desk that took three guys taking the door off of my apartment to get it inside and which wouldn't fit into elevators. During my recent move, the lead guy, *** looked at it, figured out that it could be taken apart into three pieces (I had no idea) and was able to get it out of the apartment and into the elevators with no problem. Everything was put back together smoothly and efficiently. Moving is stressful enough. With Shleppers at least you know that you're going to get a team of skilled movers and no surprise bills at the end.

Shleppers did a fantastic job with my recent move. I am so glad I decided to go with them after obtaining quotes from a few different companies. Eric, the on-site estimator was kind, clear, and informative on our first FaceTime call (no on-site estimate due to pandemic). He was very responsive and flexible when I had to call back a couple times to adjust some of the moving details. On the day of the move, the movers showed up on time (early, in fact, but not so early that we were taken by surprise) and did an incredible job. I was just blown away by how efficient they were. We moved from a 5th floor walk up to a 4th floor walk up on a hot day, and the move involved heavy furniture as well as breakable items. The team worked so hard and did not break or damage a single one of my items. While they took charge of doing all of the hard work, they checked in with me frequently about what else to pack, what to leave, and where I wanted my items to go in the new apartment. They were professional, polite, and a joy to work with. I was beyond impressed with their work and would recommend Shleppers to anyone who needs movers. On the day of the move they came out and charged us an extra $1600 and said they won't be doing the move until we agreed to the new charges. they said we had extra boxes and said that if we don't agree to the new price of extra $1600 for extra *** small boxes they will walk away.They literally implicitly holding your move hostage until you agree to pay on the day and hike a price that was absurd and to their advantage because they know that you don't have a choice on day of move (an extra $1600. That's 30% over) And during the transit period they damaged 70% of our items and furniture.When I complained to Yesnia and *** who looks after the after move they were willing to give us $75.They basically lowball you, then on day of move charge you $1600 then damaged 70% of the good to our house.I could never in good faith recommend Schlepper to anyone, especially with the methods of operation and little to no respect with regard to how our belongings were treated - boxes smashed and items damaged as 5-6 people's moves were crammed into one trailer.

Don't be a Shmuck! Hired Shleppers for a cross-country move (NYC to Spokane WA) and deeply regret doing so. Though the initial packing and pick-up ran rather smoothly (aside from a $1,000+ upcharge on moving day because the movers said we had too much stuff and it required some additional packing), the problems really came later. Shleppers' selected third-party local mover in Spokane came without masks. They refused to remove the moving blankets wrapped and secured around the furniture and just left things in a complete mess in the house. They had no inventory list and kept no track of what arrived or did not arrive. Upon leaving and unpacking the move, we realized that a number of items were damaged (artwork, lamp, furniture, etc) and missing (chaise lounge, several boxes of kitchen items, musical equipment, lampshades, etc). All told, the value of these missing or damaged items was well over $4,000. Despite countless attempts at an equitable settlement, Shleppers refused to acknowledge the poor and unreceived service (blaming it on the their local partner, though we paid and contracted Shleppers) and would only compensate for a small fraction of what we should have been owed. Buyer beware. Would absolutely not use Shleppers again and would highly encourage others to look elsewhere. Extremely dissapointed.

They were more expensive, but I thought this would be a quality move and it would be worth it. Unfortunately, they proved to be very rough with our items, broke many things, packed many things terribly, and broke a large tile in our Penthouse unit during the move. They promised to pay for the tile to be fixed, but when I submitted the claim, they came back with a low-ball offer. I explained to them the actual cost to repair the large tile, gave documentation, and they would not meet the cost. They continued to stall and offer low replacement costs for months. I gave them many, many chances to resolve the issue, but in the end, they wanted me to sign an agreement not to disclose the incident. I waited to write this review until after all of my efforts were exhausted and I have not been compensated for the broken tile, let alone any of my items. I do not recommend them whatsoever unless you want your things thrown into big boxes with abandon and without any care. When unpacking, you will discover heavier items thrown on top of other, more fragile items. Things will be bent, scratched, chipped, and covered in black sticky plastic that leaves a residue. What a terrible experience for me and my family!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! My family made a move from *** to ***. It has been a nightmare from the moment they picked up our things in *** on July 11 ( It is now August 9, and we still haven't received our items! Let's start with the pick-up, The movers came and we went over our inventory that we discussed previously before setting up the move. We originally told them 25 boxes and some other items from our home. We were quoted a price. We originally thought we would have 25 boxes but we only had 11 and we added an extra item,,, a mirror, stand, and my son's ukelele. At the end the movers added additional charges stating that we went over. I didn't quite understand being that we didn't have the amount of boxes that we originally stated. After arguing with him and getting my husband on the phone he agreed to give us a "discount". We were told that we needed to pay half of the movement fee at that time and the other half when they delivered our items to *** ( that was a lie) we were then asked when was the first date we will be available for delivery. We told them June 19. June 19 comes, we don't have our things...we call and was told that in our contract it states they have 14 business days to deliver our things from the the time we stated we were available for delivery. So that put us at August 8 for delivery. August 1 we get a call requesting that we pay the other half of our movement fee before delivery. We were told previously that we will pay when our things were delivered. At this moment we are livid , we are in another state and all of our things are still in ***. So we went ahead and paid the rest of the delivery fee because we were afraid if we didn't they wouldn't deliver our things. So the fee is paid, a couple of days later my husband receives a text from the driver stating that they were in ***, *** and the truck broke down!. This is unbelievable. So now it's August 9 we have No idea where our things are

The moving/packing team showed up on time and were nice enough... until after the first day of packing we went to our garage and noticed there was glass everywhere. They tried to sweep it away (not very well) and did not come to tell us what happened. When we approached the main person the next day, he said that the glass from our bar just magically broke in their hands and he simply "forgot" to tell us. Fine mistakes happen, it was a piece of glass not the end of the world. Then when we arrived to our new home, the team was nice enough to wait until our closing virtually occurred (due to the pandemic) and once given the green light they got to work. Once they left, we noticed various scratches to our walls, a chipped corner, and then we found that they broke the frame to our front door. Now I contacted Eric, who assured me that their claims department would take care of it. Now after multiple communications back and forth, I was asked if I had video of the exact moment that they banged my door and broke the frame... I was just moving in and obviously did not have video cameras set up to track the moving team's movements. I also did not follow them around with my cell phone tracking their every move because how am I going to follow so many people around. After they left, we realized that there was damage to some walls (small scratches, nothing big inside) but the damage to the door frame was OBVIOUS in the before and after photos provided to them. Apparently time dated and stamped photographs are not appropriate proof and because we did not have a movie crew set up the offer was a "good will gesture" of $50 to replace a door frame. Don't bother doing business with these people. They seem nice until there is an issue and then it is a completely different story and they do not stand by their own "Mission Statement". Stay away from this company if you are nervous about movers creating damage to your home or belongings because unless you have a camera crew set up, your not going to be covered.

Their position is they could have had the repairs done for less, but I have explained to them that the premises do not belong to me and the owner would not allow further access after Shleppers damaged the walls and molding. The owner had the repairs done and has held me responsible for them. The cost of the repairs was modest--$261.

The experience was a disaster - involving many damaged items, lost items, and the temporary loss of three pieces of art valued at over $20,000. (These pieces were miraculously "found on the truck" days later, only after I threatened to file a police report. I filed a complete insurance claim with Shleppers, and my settlement amount was far too low. (It's not even covering the 60 cents per pound bare bones insurance that is covered.)

I contracted with Shleppers to move my furniture to my new home. Included in the final cost estimate was an upright piano that was to be placed in the living room of the new home. After two attempts (the first involved a broken lift on the truck) the movers failed to move the piano to the final desired location in the home and left the piano in the garage of the final destination. As a result, I had to hire a separate piano moving company to complete the move from the garage to the living area of the home and incurred additional expenses. I have contacted Shleppers and according to the customer service representative, since the piano was moved to the final address, the move is considered complete. However, in their sales proposal, they state that Shleppers will set up the furniture in the desired locations. The garage of the house was not my desired location and therefore I feel they did not fulfill their commitment.

They had a staff of 2 movers after one of them damaged my massage chair the Foreman had the employee stay with the moving truck while he moved the rest of my bedroom set which he damaged as well. They scuffed up and banged up my furniture leaving it to need repairing. My Massage Chair weigh 434 pounds which they started off with a dolly. I went downstairs to check on my chair and the mover was rolling my chair on the 2 back wheels which are only used to move it from one room to another causing damage to the wheels and breaking on side off and damaging the leather. the moving company offered a settlement of $258.00 for damages which is unacceptable to me as the price of my new chair is $7,799.00 which will not cover the cost of new wheels and to repair the leather. My desirable out come is that they promptly pay for all damages in full.

So many things went wrong I don't know where to start. Booking - booking was simple and I made a few more changes as I packed, not a problem, and I even added kitchen packing a week before the move. I was assured by the sales rep that if I added a few more boxes, it wouldn't be more than 20-30 dollar, for 10 boxes, so the night before the move, I started using smaller boxes for books and other heavier items. I ended up with 30 or so more boxes. I emailed the Sales rep, but her response was don't worry - they'll take care of it day of. I'd like to also state I paid extra for a 'carpenter' - more about the 'carpenter' Day of 1st Move - the movers were on time - Team Garcia. But they were unable to get a spot close to my building, so they were parked down the street. You can imagine this really makes for slow moving. So a move that probably should have taken then 4 hours ended up being probably 6-7 hours. So you see where this is going - they are going to charge me. And charged me a lot they did. I had probably 30 extra small boxes and perhaps a few items that I didn't list (small rolling luggage, a small rug, a wine fridge) - not super large items, but a handful. They charged me an extra $800. Yes, you heard that correctly. The total estimate of my move was about 2300 for the 1st half, and they charged me an extra $1000. Keep in mind the $2000 quote included them packing an entire kitchen (which they told me was more than what they estimated. They estimated the cost!). But what was I to do? They tell me at the end of the move - when they have all my stuff in the truck that's how much extra my move would cost. It's essentially holding my stuff hostage. I talked them down to $800, and Alex (the operator of the day) claims nothing her can do. I call my Sales rep, nothing she can do. Essentially no one can do anything for you except charge you more money. Also - my $2000 quote includes kitchen packing, a $300 carpenter fee, so really it was like a $1500 quote. That's what made me so mad - the actual moving of my stuff was $1500, and they tacked on an additional $800, they upped the price 50%. Storage - So my stuff goes to storage, where it stays for a little over 2 weeks. I was the dummy that let my Sales rep talk me into not moving month end cause the move would be more expensive. Instead she talked me into moving Jun 3 instead. So my 2 weeks of storage, because it went into the month of June by 3 days ended up costing me 6 weeks (yes they charged me the entire month of June for 3 days of storage). And once again - not a soul had the authority to assist me in any way. Day 2 of this miserable move. Thankfully no surprise charges this day. But guess what? My double PAX wardrobe no longer works (they offered $12). There are chips on my Crate and Barrel Buffet ($30), missing wheel to my West Elm office chair (they offered $12), and the list goes on. So for half an apartment of broken things that they consider cosmetic, they offer me a measly $177.

Moving long distance is never easy, but Shleppers does its best to ensure that everything runs smoothly. The moving men arrived promptly at the appointed time to take inventory and load the truck quickly. I received everything at my new home in *** a week later, as promised. There was good communication with the office both before and during the move, to make sure everything was in order. Wow! We moved from Brooklyn to ***, and Shleppers made it as seamless as possible! Our movers came the day prior (on time) to the move and packed our 2 bedroom apt in only a few hours. The same movers (which we appreciated for continuity) came the following day (on time) and efficiently moved us out and into our home. They were friendly, respectful of our belongings and professional. We were absolutely dreading moving with a baby, and Shleppers eased so much of our moving anxiety and stress!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! My family made a move from *** to ***. It has been a nightmare from the moment they picked up our things in *** on July 11 ( It is now August 9, and we still haven't received our items! Let's start with the pick-up, The movers came and we went over our inventory that we discussed previously before setting up the move. We originally told them 25 boxes and some other items from our home. We were quoted a price. We originally thought we would have 25 boxes but we only had 11 and we added an extra item,,, a mirror, stand, and my son's ukelele. At the end the movers added additional charges stating that we went over. I didn't quite understand being that we didn't have the amount of boxes that we originally stated. After arguing with him and getting my husband on the phone he agreed to give us a "discount". We were told that we needed to pay half of the movement fee at that time and the other half when they delivered our items to *** ( that was a lie) we were then asked when was the first date we will be available for delivery. We told them June 19. June 19 comes, we don't have our things...we call and was told that in our contract it states they have 14 business days to deliver our things from the the time we stated we were available for delivery. So that put us at August 8 for delivery. August 1 we get a call requesting that we pay the other half of our movement fee before delivery. We were told previously that we will pay when our things were delivered. At this moment we are livid , we are in another state and all of our things are still in ***. So we went ahead and paid the rest of the delivery fee because we were afraid if we didn't they wouldn't deliver our things. So the fee is paid, a couple of days later my husband receives a text from the driver stating that they were in ***, *** and the truck broke down!. This is unbelievable. So now it's August 9 we have No idea where our things are
