pharmacist with an attitude
I went into Shoppers Drug Mart with a prescription, the lady behind the counter advised me that my item could now be purchased over the counter. She was very kind and helpful but after getting home I came to realize she left out some information in terms of being able to put through a claim with my insurance. I called back to get this information and a man answered who was extremely condescending when I was asking for clarification, he did not listen to my questions rather he continued to rush me off the phone even telling me that he had customers to help in the store and he had to go. This is very rude to say as I am a customer as well and have made a purchase in their store just a few hours earlier! I will not be using this pharmacy in the future, this is a shame as I have just moved to the area and having a shoppers near by was convenient but I do not feel comfortable with being spoken to in such a manner.
medication
I asked the Pharmacy to provide a copy of my prescription, before they filled the medication. I paid for the medicines, however they would not give it despite being on hold for over 2 hours. They did not explain how to use the medication and puffers. They have charge me dispensing fees. There is only one pharmacist on duty and they are super busy. If they charge patients dispensing fees should they not explain how to use the medications and puffers? I am most disappointed with the service in this pharmacy. Not one person bothers to care for people Never going to use this pharmacy again. I purchased medication on October 24th the Pharmacy is under the Name of Frank M. Hack Pharmacy Ltd.
I am unable to take the medication purchased because they did not explain how to use it and have my prescription. They will not oblige to even fax my prescription..
discrimination
After shopping and getting everything I needed I proceeded to one cashier but another grabbed the mans in front of me and moved him over to the next till. I followed and after she served him her attitude changed to indifference towards me.. I paid my bill she then turned her back to me and did not give me my receipt or a pin card for the new contest.. I dont know if I got all my points on my optimum card or not cause I did not get a receipt.. I was treated badly here before but was told staff was retrained.. I dont see it.. I feel I was treated this way cause I have piercings and a shaved head.. From mike cameron at mikes. [protected]@yahoo. Ca
Depends on whether or not you paid with a mastercard; the shoppers promotion at the time is a mastercard-geared promo.
1) when I lost my optimum card
Five months ago I lost my optimum card, I received another one on the spot and was told that my lost card points would be added to the new card. However I have not been given the points from my old, lost optimum card. I had about 38000 points when my card went missing. Will I still get my points? My new points card number is [protected]
After my purchase at Shoppers Drug Mart, October 11 2016, I was given apiece of paper to enter a contest for a vacation, this paper says to enter the pin number to enter the contest. This a.m. I went to the SHOPPERS DRUG MART site to enter this vacation, I was directed to enter my DATE OF BIRTH to confirm that my OPTIMUM CARD number belonged to me. I followed directions, entered my dob only to be told that I was not able to enter the contest with the information I provided to them. I had 5 chances to enter it and it failed. I was then directed to telephone . SHOPPERS DRUG MART has failed me 3 times in less than 24 hours .No one else has my birth date and my Shoppers Drug Mart OPTIMUM card numbers except me. I will soon stop all shopping at SHOPPERS DRUG MART as I am too frustrated with their failures .
Please read the above note, Again I did not see this box until the end of my rant . this is also very frustrating
Today October 11 2016, after I made my purchase from Shoppers Drug Mart, the cashier, Tammy, told me about the survey I was able to to take for a chance to win a $1000 gift card. I was excited for the chance to win. This evening, I called to take the survey. I was cut off because I guess because I was too slow in giving my answers.I called again and again and again and again . being cut off 5 times before I was quick enough to complete the initial information required. I was totally disgusted with this being hung up on the first 4 times. I am 67 years old and a bit slow and not very good on computers. I felt so ticked off that I do not ever want to do another survey for Shoppers Drug Mart. You upset me so very much and I was already having a very bad day. I hope you change how you do telephone surveys. I get that you only want to surveys online. but you are wrong, all wrong now you have made me suffer another crisis by having to go online to make this complaint. I suffer from a lot of back pain and leg pain due to a workplace injury and sitting at this PC adds to my pain. Smarten up please. FIX the telephone problem as I am not the only one going through this survey problem. Belinda S Repose [protected]
PLEASE read the above complaint as I am in great pain trying to submit my complaint and did not see this box until after I had written the complaint .

pharmacist/owner
The Pharmacist and Owner of store 1355 (Kenora Ontario) brought me in for employment. I was hired over the phone, no background checks required. Kids as young as 14 are allowed to work back there because the owner hires her friends children or children of close people she chose as management for the front end. She lets pharmacists swear where customers can hear, employees from long ago come back and check things on the computers back there, people who have stolen before are allowed to shop again. I was let go and then BANNED from this store for no valid reason. No charges against me, no theft, no threats, nothing. No reason. What kind of business is this run in this small town? Her employees attacked my background and laughed about it while she did nothing. I was not a part of her clique and for monetary reasons and hiring the front end manager's daughter to take my place with NO medical background is sickening. I am moving forward with this. People are not treated right. A surprise visit should be made, perhaps a secret shopper.
complaint against the manager of shopper drug mart (45 overlea blvd, toronto, on m4h 1c3) east york town center
This complaint is about the immoral behaviours of shopper drug mart manager, his name is start from "h" and he his moustache. He is working in shoppers drug mart - east york town centre (45 overlea blvd, toronto on m4h 1c3).
Two days ago I bought baby milk, which was near to expire and the milk almost change colour, I dint know why, but you can see in the picture below.
The manager with his immoral behaviour argue a lot here and there, instead to solve the problem and look like that wants to fight with the customer.
I am strongly complaint against his immoral attitude towards me.
pharmacy
having a very hard time getting prescription filled. have to wait 2 or 3 days, also doctor ask for brand name and I get generic. when I ask the pharmacist about it, she says " there is no difference and we don't have any info from your doc about that" then the pharmacist told us maybe we need to go to a different pharmacy . I can not believe her attitude, she was very rude and short with us.
re: cannot use bathroom
Complaint against Shoppers Drug Mart: I recently had a bladder operation and after the operation I was required medication. I went to Shoppers because this is the drug store my employer's drug plan pays through automatic payment. As I was waiting for my prescription I needed to use their bathroom and to use it quickly as I mentioned I had a bladder operation. I was told I cannot use their bathroom but to go to the grocery store across the road. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, after-all they provide free water drinks to the customers but no bathroom to use when needed. I spoke directly to the owner and was able to use their bathroom. I called their head office with this complaint and the receptionist responded that she would take my complaint to their administration. She mentioned that I couldn't speak directly to their human resource but when I said to her that I will then take my complaint online and go viral, she was then quick to ask for my name and phone number. She also mentioned that they have received many complaints about no use of bathroom from other customers. Gas stations provide better service than these drug stores. If these drug stores cannot provide the essential service of a bathroom, I would encourage their customers and non regular customers to choose another drug store. The irony was that after using and exiting their bathroom, I could hear another customer arguing with the Shoppers Drug Mart employee and raising his voice in disgust because he also needed to use their bathroom. My message to Shoppers Drug Mart Administration is as follows: Take a fraction of your multi billion dollar company and provide a bathroom for the good paying clients and afterall this is considered a health care facility.
The washrooms at most Shoppers I've been to are in the Employee-only part of the store, where the front office and safe is located; depending on the layout of the store, it could be a loss and prevention issue to let customers back there (often are unsupervised, not enough staff to babysit someone in the washroom)
scam!!!
Date : September 25th, 2016
Store address : 620 Keele St., Toronto, ON M6N 3E2
I was walking around the store and found an item (Nexcare Acne patch) that I usually buy and it was on sale! So I grabbed 4 boxes and went to pay. But when the cashier scanned the item it wasn't on sale... So I told her that I saw the price was on sale which is why I bought so many... So she paged another person to go and check it out (which took a very long time, when it wasn't even that far away) and he came back saying that it wasn't on sale... Which I didn't believe because I saw the sticker and also checked that it was for the right item before buying... but once I went back to check the sticker was no longer there... I'm not going to blame anyone... but I don't appreciate how the guy blamed me for putting the sticker from another area there... when the sticker was no longer there... Such rude attitude! I always buy from Shoppers and would never have this problem but to have someone blame me for change the sticker and trying to save 2$! I am disappointed! I was there with my aunt and she also saw that it was on sale! And what happened to the sticker afterwards?!? TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
customer service/manager service
My friend and I went into Shoppers drug mart at Yorkdale mall in Toronto we both bought water from there, our other friend was getting a bday card, we left the store and my friend got confronted by a rude secret shopper accusing her of stealing an item from the store. My friend said oh the water I paid for and he wanted to See a receipt she showed him the receipt, she wasn't given an apology just well my coworker said they saw you stealing an item if you would like we can go and talk to my manager. My friend did want to go and speak to the manager, she did not help the situation told my friend she was uneducated meanwhile my friend has her degree in medicine, very rudeeeee and advised us to leave the store, my friend said that she can keep the water and the receipt for it aswell. There was no apology given and the store front manager LeeAnne did not defuse the situation only made it worse by calling my friend uneducated and laughing at her. I am a loyal shoppers customer until today I will never shop at that shoppers again and will take my services elsewhere to make matters worse I had my ten month old son with me
bath retreat sugar body scrub passion berry 500g
This product is disgusting.
It leave a very thick, oily film on your body.
Instead of scrubbing away dead skin and oils it leave your skin even worse.
It left both mine and my husband's bodies breaking out due to the thick film left after using. It doesn't even scrub nicely, the "sugar" dissipates to fast.
And it does not have a pleasant smell to it.
This product simply shouldn't exist.
I think this whole brand should be discontinued at shoppers because none of their products work well or smell nice, they just cause more problems.
rain check at, shoppers, drug, mart kingsgate mall 370 e. broadway vancouver bc
I was issued a raincheck for 4 bags of No Name potato chips in June 2016.
The raincheck was very specific as to the actual flavour of the chips which happened to be Sour Cream and Onion. I visit this store about once a week but every time I have visited since June they had no stock of those chips. I was told I couldn't use the raincheck for any other flavour of chips. Today, Sept 15, 2016 I went into the store and voila, they finally had them. I took the chips up the cashier and was told that the raincheck had expired after 30 days, so they wouldn't honour it. I explained how I had repeatedly checked for the chips in this store after being issued the raincheck and they were never in stock. The manager's further explanation was that I should have stood in the usually long lineup at this store and asked for an extension of the raincheck. I didn't even know that there was an expiration. After this final refusal without granting me a customer satisfaction exception, I left the store vowing never to return. The staff at this store is constantly changing and in the past I didn't receive this kind of lack of satisfaction on any issue I had. Too bad, they've lost me as a customer, I'm never shopping there again.
unethical service
My wife phoned yesterday to have her medication refill sent to her doctor as it is a narcotic. The young girl said that she would need to go to see her doctor for this. My wife told her that she can not as she has had surgery. The reason is not important and the pharmacy assistant should have just said yes. My wife was put on hold for a few minutes and the girl came back and said yes she would. My wife also said she was going to call the doctors office as she was incompetent. This morning my wife called the doctor and nothing was received at the doctors office. A call was made to the pharmacy again and was told that it was faxed last night. At 4:30 today my wife called the doctors office and it was closed. Once again she called the pharmacy and was told that the request was sent to the hospital. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING! Because of a staffs incompetence to know where the hell to send a fax my wife must now go without pain meds. This is completely unacceptable.
The pharmacy is correct. Narcotics require a new script each time it needs filled. This is not a pharmacy requirement. This is a DEA requirement.
itunes card
I visited the shoppers drug mart on Highway seven and Weston in Ontario. I purchased to iTunes card at $25 each. It was only after I my purchased that I saw that there was a $50 card. So I immediately went to return the 2 $25 iTunes card to exchange it for the $50 card. I was told by the employee there that I could not or refund The iTunes card for exchange it. The employee at the Shoppers drug mart was very rude and had appalling customer service. I asked her if she was sure that I could not refund or exchange of the item. She said in verbatim "I am damn sure".
I'm checking the receipt it said that refund or exchanges can be made within 30 days with original receipt. Even if I was not able to refund or exchange of the items, that back should have been made clear before my purchased by the cashier. I am disgusted by my treatment and I will never shop at this location again, this type of behaviour is not at all acceptable in customer service and individuals who have no patience for customer care should not bother with such a position. Issues such as this need to be dealt with in order to maintain shoppers drug marts professional integrity.
It also says no returns on the gift card spinner
Apple owns the ITunes cards and sets the return policies for them. Regardless of what the receipt says, there are restrictions to returns, and gift cards, music cards, reloadable cards, phone cards, etc can not be refunded in the store. The cards state this on the back of the cards. Read them next time.
discrimination, accused of shoplifting and banned because of stupid mistake
To start this complaint off I have suffered from Attention Deficit all of my life and it has been a struggle. I know it is fashionable nowadays to have ADD but I really do and have been treated for it most of my life. I always have my hair brushed back and a short pony tail and I take care of it. I play music and I guess I'm stuck in the 80's but this does not make me a criminal and I am not one. I run a small business and am trying to build a name for myself here in the community. I am 46 years old and have no criminal record. In fact, I volunteered my fingerprints to the police for a background check to deliver the mail about 6 years ago, so it was not in my plans to become one either.
The night of September 8, 2016, I decided to walk to the Shoppers Drug Mart on 142 Clarke Road in London, Ontario. It was very hot & humid so I did not want to carry my bulky wallet so I just took my bank card and Shoppers points card. I have shopped there for 5 or 6 years and there almost every day because I live so close. I still had my work clothes on dress shirt and dress pants. I have had a couple of minor problems with Shoppers Drug Mart in the past because I asked for an extra bag after I paid for my items and the woman gave me heck " ask for your bags before you pay" even though I'm sure I heard stores do not have to charge for them anymore and one other time because I complained about getting charged more than what the price said, I complained this time because it was the 3rd time it happened to me because they say they forgot to take the sale price down.
Anyway on the night in question I had gone to the Metro grocery store across the road first and got 4l of ice cream, big bag of cat treats, 2kg of sugar and a few other items. I had too bags from Metro. I went across the street to Shoppers and got 24 rolls of toilet paper, a large pizza a case of pop and a bottle of caffeine pills worth 9 dollars.
I never got a basket because I did not plan on getting so many things but they were on sale. My hands were full but I exercise so I thought I could handle it but the caffeine pills fell on the floor a couple of times so I stupidly put them in my pocket with every intention of paying for them when I got to the cash. I thought nothing of it. I got to the cash and I am always nervous in there about asking for extra bags for I think is the cashier going to be rude to me today and I always try to smile.
I had to explain I'm walking and I'm going to need a few bags and I'll pay for them and I was smiling like I always try to do and be pleasant and see that I'm not being overcharged. I paid cash and gave my points card and asked her for all change back because I take the bus a lot. I have a license but I like taking the bus because of my ADD. The cashier said I can't at first but then she did. I walked out to the side of the building and set all the bags down to arrange them thinking "how am I going to carry all this".
I looked up and there was this guy in my face, "He says you didn't pay for those caffeine pills you put in your pocket". I said what and I clued in. I probably turned beat red with embarrassment but I said man I'm sorry I didn't mean it, I'll run in and pay for them, I really did not mean it. He goes follow me and I thought we were just going to the cashier which I would have done anyway even if I got home I would have walked back and paid.
He then said no to the office I'm calling the police. I said are you serious I've shopped here every day almost for six years and I have never stolen anything in my life it was a mistake. I said if I was going to steal something I wouldn’t be waiting outside the store and also who would risk their reputation on 9-dollar item. He wouldn’t listen to me. He was so serious and was acting like he was a police officer who just caught a serial killer.
He gave me attitude right from the start and He made me empty my pockets. He read me my rights and was filling out some kind of form and asked me my name which I spelled out for him twice, address, phone number and what I do for a living. I said I am self-employed and told him my business name and he said "oh Ontario Works" and I said I just told you my business name why did you say that and he said "most people I catch for theft here is on Ontario Works" I said to him if I meant to steal from this store I wouldn't be waiting outside the store to get caught. I also said if I was a criminal, I would probably say screw you and just run away because you have none of my identification.
He then said you would try, "I take muay thai, kickboxing and do MMA" and I said jokingly with a smile "maybe we can arrange a match sometime after all this is over" He said "sure" I said "it is obvious my hands were full and said you could give a person a break" I said "I really did not mean to steal anything it was an honest mistake". I have been coming here for 5 years almost every day and all your coworkers have seen me here hundreds of times. "I said "I know it is not going to change anything but I do not want anyone thinking that of me" I said "you could have given me a break if you had of believed me" He said "it's not up to me to give anyone a break it's up to the police". I said "yeah but even if the police don't charge me, what are all your coworkers going to think seeing me being detained here for 3 hours?" "I hope you tell them it was a mistake after all this."
He kind of loosened up a little and we got talking about all the other people he caught stealing there, about this one guy in a wheelchair who was in a wheelchair and he started ramming him with the wheelchair. He said I caught a guy the other day steal a can of shaving cream with $500 in his pocket. I said "come on tell me the truth why did you treat me this way?" "it’s because of my pony tail isn’t it? He said no "my dad's got long hair" "I started watching you because you were carrying Metro bags and I’ve seen people put stolen goods in them" He also told me he has another job as a roofer and they are all criminals so I know he stereotypes.
I had to wait there for 3 hours with this guy until the police arrived. Waiting is one of the worst things for hyperactive people and I think I treaded a trench in the floor even though I tried to sit because my medication was wearing off.
The officer finally arrived and he came in and the Shoppers guy said "his hands were full and he put caffeine pills in his pocket and walked out without paying." The officer then looked at me like he wanted me to say something. I began to tell the officer my side of the story because I thought they were done and he said "I didn't say you could talk" very forceful and rude and he says sit down. I said sorry I have ADD in case I got that social cue wrong than if there is a pause in the conversation and someone looks at you, they want you to speak. He said "I don't care go over there and sit down. Which I did and waited for permission to speak.
He asked my name, address and if I had a record. I said I lived here about 5 years and lived in Sarnia before that. and said no record. I even spelled out my name twice first and last because people usually spell my last name wrong. The officer then said if you didn't lie to me I will not charge you for it looks like a misunderstanding. He told me to wait where I was.
After about 5 minutes he comes back and said real angry "Stand up and put your hands behind your back" in which I complied. He said you lied to me. In which I said I didn't lie about a thing. He proceeded to push me through the store handcuffed and in front of everyone said "you are being charged for theft". I said why are you doing this.
He then stuffed me in the back of the police car and it hurt. Handcuffed so tight my wrists are still sore and no room for my legs because the seat was so far back my feet could not face forward. I had to sit sideways and my legs were still jammed against hard plastic front seat. I told him I have been here 5 years and he said I cannot find anything on the computer about you whatsoever so you are lying. He said angrily "There is no way you were here five years and had no interaction with the police". I did not know what he meant and I said "what do you mean interaction?"
I was thinking should I have made a donation to the police or gone to a policeman’s ball or something. I just said there is nothing about me because I don't do anything wrong. I just go to work and come home. I then remembered because I was so nervous that I lived in Park Hill with my girlfriend for a year or so after Sarnia and volunteered my fingerprints and got a background check to do the mail so I told him and said you are connected to other cities on your computer aren’t you. He then found my information. I was still jammed in the back seat handcuffed very tight and he told the guy from Shoppers I won't be charging him I think he is telling the truth.
I thought he would let me go but no. Then he proceeded to take me to my place to get my ID. I said my landlord is going to think I'm a criminal with a police car pulling in and me handcuffed. He said I'll take the handcuffs off of you. I thought he meant right away but he drove me down the street first and was on the wrong street and still angry says where is your apartment I don't see it I said you’re on the wrong street in which he said no I'm not and I said yes you are.
Then I finally saw my apartment he set on the road for a minute then pulled into a closed garage across from my home. He got out and opened the door and said turn around I'm going to take the cuffs off of you. I was jammed in so tight I couldn't turn around backwards enough.
I asked to put my legs out so I could turn but he would not let me. I said I cannot contort my body that way. He then goes just a minute and does something in the front of the car comes back and with my legs jammed sideways I turned to the right with my hands behind my back and did the best yoga of my life forcing my chest to the seat. He took the most time he could to unlock the cuffs.
I told him several times how embarrassed I was and don't want my landlord thinking I’m a criminal but he pulled in my driveway and then went through my bags to get my keys and first said he could not find them just to make me sweat. By that time, I was afraid to breathe without his permission. He gave me my keys and I opened the door and gave my ID to him. He then said have a good night which was pretty hard after that and I said thanks for believing me because I just wanted this over and I do not argue with someone who obviously hates you with a gun.
I thought it was over but 20 minutes or so later I heard a knock at my door I went outside and he said I forgot to give you this Trespass to Property Act RSO 1990 Basically I cannot go into 142 Clarke RD for a year then I can apply in writing to go back after a year.
I asked the officer what it was because I never saw one before. He said the Shoppers guy said I threatened him in which I told him "no sir he gave me attitude right from the start". I felt like saying you did too but I know better because I respect the law but I have heard things and he already treated me like a hard core criminal and embarrassed me in the store in front of everyone, so they all think I was charged for theft when I wasn't and he is not going to tell them otherwise.
I noticed today my first name was spelled wrong on the trespass letter even though I spelled it out twice for the officer before he went to check my information on the computer and once more after he called me a liar 3 times and paraded me handcuffed in front of everyone in shoppers loudly saying your being arrested for theft and jammed me contorted into the back seat of the police car.
I am hyper and move around a lot and I have tried to stop that my whole life. I told the officer this is not fair; it was a simple mistake. I then told him I will not go there anyway and I'm going to write a letter to the newspaper or something I said but not out of vengeance. I said this just doesn't feel right. He was nicer by that point and said go ahead.
Then my cat got out he left and I then see my neighbor that lives in the front apartment sitting in his car watching it all. My neighbor then comes over and asks me what is going on. I said it was a misunderstanding.
I don't understand how Shoppers Drug Mart advertises to be a store for the community and I have been going there for 5 years always with a smile on my face but belittled because I asked for extra bags after I paid. I brought to their attention not rudely that the item was on sale and they went to check and had forgotten to take the sale sign down. Two times was OK the girl did not mind but the same woman had to go check once, an older woman with short dark hair the same one that gave me heck over the bags, had to check once and she was rude again and was really put out. I think it was the owner. Not once did they offer me the sale price as advertised by their own mistake.
When I shop no matter how much money I have, the sale price influences me to buy maybe I'm wrong but isn't that false advertising. Everyone makes mistakes and I did not make a big deal of it but I feel they blamed me for their mistakes.
My heart goes out to the poor and disabled and mentally ill because I have had hard times before. I feel that store stereotypes the poor. Another thing I noticed is an advertisement on tv on how Shoppers Drug Mart are helping the poor by partnering with the food bank to bring in tampons because some poor women have to choose between dignity and food. I go to shoppers on 142 clarke road almost every day or every other and buy toilet paper there 12 double rolls 4.99 all month and a lot of other sales. Everyone knows when the poor get assistance at the first of the month.
I know because I take a bus to go to work and they are severely crowded. I notice The 1-4 of every month toilet paper is 8.99 at 142 clarke road in London, Ontario and all other sales are off. Seems like a coincidence to me that this happens. Women need tampons but not toilet paper?
Maybe I'm wrong in feeling I was mistreated but it was an honest mistake and I do not want to be part of this community anymore for I'm afraid to make another mistake. Maybe I should give into the pressure and cut my hair real short and maybe some people will not target me and stereotype and not think I’m a criminal. Maybe the police will treat me like I'm not guilty until proven innocent. I am thinking about making a Human Rights complaint.
Sorry about the length of this but I am really bothered by this and embarrassed and had to get it out.
cashier service, inappropriate behaviour, forceful and rude.
I was shopping late one night with my mother, sister and husband. We received great service from the pharmacy technician and went up to the front of the store to check out. As we stood waiting the cashier was busy filling out paperwork. We did not mind as we waiting for her to finish and call us over. However, when she was done she did not greet my mother and sister, did not call them over, she just stood there and looked at them waiting for them to come over. My husband and I were checking out separately and were still looking at magazines and add on items at the register. I noticed that my mother (who is very ill and shaky) was having some trouble finding her cards and the cashier became very impatient. She began rolling her eyes and insisting that my mother just pay for the order and forget her "just 100 optimum points". She kept turning the pinpad and insisting my mother pay for her purchase. My mother told her that she wants to give her the optimum card first to collect her points and then pay. The cashier then rudely told her "it doesn't matter I can give you the 100 points after you pay its just about 100 points, I have more people in line"...and my mother responded, "what does it matter when I pay if you still have to scan both cards"... the cashier then said that "you can pay first". I then stepped in from my browsing asking the cashier "what difference does it make when you still have to scan her points card, that why are you insisting on forcing her to pay first...it takes the same time...why are you forcing her to move quickly when clearly she is sick?" The cashier looked shocked at first as she did not realize that we were all together...then she rolled her eyes and said that "she does not have time to wait for her to look for her cards, that she has other customers in line (she had one other customer behind my husband and I" and then proceeded to say that the store is closing in 30 minutes and has a lot of things to do. I then told her "the order in which she gives you her cards does not matter, but satisfying the customer is what matters and you are not...the customer is always right, especially when it is a loyal paying customer". My husband then proceeded to try to educate this ill mannered cashier until she rudely responded " I am right, I know my job and the rules and I am right to tell her that I can give her her 100 points afterwards"...this angered my husband as your cashier is clearly a bully when she sees elderly people. He used fowl language telling the cashier " you are acting like an f***ing idiot and you need to be learn how to treat customers no matter what time it is" I apologize for his language but your cashier was rude, and ignorant. She was insistent that her behavior was acceptable and she was "right".
What happened to good customer service, especially with the sick and elderly. I expected more from your company and this is definitely disappointing. She belittled my mother, and even made her feel poor for wanting to collect her "just 100 points" as the cashier said over and over again. Another customer who did not know the beginning of the story then ignorantly jumped in when my husband was speaking the cashier thinking that we were harassing the cashier when in fact we were defending our mother.
Had your cashier been a true reflection of PROPER customer service none of this would have happened.
This situation WILL greatly impact the drug stores in which we do our business at...as well as grocery store since you are a part of the Loblaws chain of stores now.
This cashier conveniently was not wearing a name badge for us to note down her name and refused to give us her name when we asked for it.
Description of the cashier is:
Approx 5' 7" female of Indian Origin, fair complexion, dark hair. Was operating a POS register at approx. 11:30pm on Saturday August 27, 2016 at the Morningside Crossing Shoppers Drug Mart location.
profiling by shoppers beauty associate
I am writing this review a few days after my sister had a very upsetting experience with a long time beauty associate at the 8865 Yonge Street Shoppers Drug mart in Richmond Hill. I am also writing it because before my sister even described the woman whom it happened with I knew who it was because I too have had disturbing experiences with this woman in the past. The one difference is that this woman never approached me so my suspicions about her behaviour could not be proven.
My sister and I shop at this drug store all time. We own a condo in the area and it is a 5 minute walk from where we live. On this afternoon my sister went to buy a bunch of items because we go on vacation. As she walked around with her cart she realized that she forgot an item from the beauty department so she returned to that section to grab it. It is then that an associate by the name or Rebecca stopped her and said that she preferred that my sister continue shopping but leave her cart in the beauty section. My sister was shocked and confused. When she tried to leave Rebecca insisted that she stay! At this point my sister insisted a manger come right away. One did and she reported the entire incident to the gentleman.
I was so upset when I heard that this embarrassing, inappropriate and downright horrible incident happen to my sister. I have literally shopped at this drugmart and caught Rebecca staring at me from between aisles. This did not happen once but at least 3 times. When I would catch her she did not approach me for help but simply slipped away like a rat. I was left so shaken and upset by her spying on me, clearly looking to see if she would catch me stealing, that I literally have not shopped in the beauty section at this location for years – except for one time when I reluctantly bought a perfume there because I couldn’t get to another location in time.
No one, no honest, tax paying responsible adult should be made to feel like a criminal when they walk through the doors of a store. This incident with my sister confirmed to me that I was right about this associate the entire time and now I will speak up and make sure no other customer experiences this profiling and poor behaviour from her again. We are awaiting her manager to return from vacation and will be contacting head office. If shoppers doesn’t take this serious I will not be shopping at this franchise ever again, which is disappointing because with the exception of this horrible woman the staff are really great here, nonetheless I may become a Rexall customer exclusively.
refusing to provide tester for perfume
I would like to share the bad experiences that I had on August 30/2016 at Shoppers Drug mart located on 1050 Leila ave., WPG, MB R2P1W6. The store has a big variety of perfumes on sale which is $20 + tax but the problem is that they don't have testers available for it so my question was how am I suppose to buy perfume if i don't know how it smells like and the answer was "Yes, that is a big risk" the sales representative answered than I called the manager with the same question and she tried to explain that "The perfume is cheap because the manufacturer wants to get rid of it" (which doesn't even sound good to me as a customer) and that "Shoppers head office is not allowed to provide testers for these kind of perfume." But this still doesn't make sense for me, even so, the price of this product ($20) I guess this is the type of product that should be tested before release, no matter the cost plus there is no indication, sign or note that highlights this particular rule for the public.
poor customer service
I have had poor customer service from a cosmestic person at the Essex Shoppers Drug mart. Customers name is "Becky" no last I know of. I go to the shoppers at least 3 times a week, I have been told that the cosmetic counter is used by comestic customers as well as all other types of customers. Becky ignores you when you are waiting to pay for your products and actually ignores you when she gets to the counter if she is helping someone look for make-up. I feel that customer service should be a first come, first serve basis, therefore the first person waiting at the counter should be served first. Becky ignores you at the counter and has her make-up clients cut in front of you. If they are going to allow her make- up clients to go first and if she is ignoring all other consumers who wish to pay at her counter, then why is it acceptable for shoppers to say you can use that counter if Becky just ignores you at her counter. I need this clarified and I feel that Becky is very rude and she has out right told me she ignores all other customers other then the ones buying make-up. shannon barron
If Becky is already waiting on a customer, then you are not first, are you? In fact, Becky's customer she is already with is actually first. Therefore, Becky is doing her job correctly.
If Becky is to wait on customers . All customers. Then you are right first come first served. That would annoy me or anyone with half a brain very much!
What exactly do you think the make up counter is for? Just because you walk up there does not mean the customer she is helping has to get in line behind you.
an employee
I was in the hanover, ontario shoppers drug mart august 18th 2016 around 6:00pm, when I was looking for some cosmetics, when I was proceeding to the checkout there was a cashier who's name tag had the name "arianne" she had brown hair, and she was extremely unpleasant and rude. There was another girl with the name tag "jordan" with blonde hair also very rude. The two were standing giggling at customers and did not seem to be "working". I am a regular shopper and I find this behaviour absolutely disgusting. I will not be returning if these are the employees working there.
No one in the Goderich store. That's why it closed over one year ago. There "Specials" at Shoppers are regular prices at most other retailers- even Zehrs which can sometimes be on the expensive side. I, for one, don't miss it.
August 19 - 96th and 128th, Surrey, BC
VERY VERY sad experience. Went into the store to purchase some personal items for myself, I also, took the opportunity to introduce myself to the MANAGER, (I am a local sales associate and have heard that the Shoppers are in possible need of product and service that I offer), Manager was rude at best, referred to me as SWEETIE, she advised me that they do not purchase ANYTHING locally and refused to take my information because she would never need it. I HAVE ONE QUESTION FOR THIS MANAGER AND ALL OTHER SHOPPERS - WHO EXACTLY DO YOU THINK IS SHOPPING IN YOUR STORES - I AM GUESSING THAT IT IS ALL LOCAL CUSTOMERS!
PS The items in my hands to purchase were put back on the shelf!

I don't see what the problem is Most of the time, if you have a script for an over the counter medication, you do not have to submit it through the insurance, thus not adding to your claims, thus leaving your insurance for more expensive scripts. Plus, sometimes, using the over the counter without involving your insurance makes it cheaper as you pay store price and not the insurance co-pay, especially if you are meeting a deductible.
