Mens size 10 Sperry topsider loafers
I contacted the return dept by computer to return these shoes 42 days after the purchase, I was not able to Do this, so I called customer service to find out if there were any avenues I could take in order to return the item in question. I got the stock answer that after fourty days and on and on. I am contacted daily with the written statement of Sierra's return policy. I have been a loyal customer of the TJX companies for 30 years. However, I will NEVER purchase from Sierra again, and have informed them thusly. I consider this bombardment of e-mails from Sierra harassement, and I am closet] to filing a complaint with my states Attourney Generals office. Can you help me?
Desired outcome: return the item in question and never receive any e-mails from Sierra again
Everything is ruined now
I used to be their regular customer for many years. But something has changed and I'm one of those unhappy customers now.
I want everything back. The wide choice, stylish clothes, that's not embarrassing to wear, good quality and great customer service, reasonable prices and relatively fast delivery.
All of this is gone and I'm really disappointed. I know that many people say the same. I guess you changed your management. Well, it was your worst decision...
Sometime back they were bought by someone else and things obviously changed.
Ordered boots for my son and received wrong size
I bought a pair of boots for my son from this website www.sierratradingpost.com. I had a terrible experience with them and I am very disappointed.
Shoes arrived and were too big, so I contacted Sierra Trading Post and told them that we received wrong size boots. They offered us a replacement and that was a good offer, but later they contacted me and said that they did not have the correct size in stock.
I told them that there was different information on their site and they said that there was a mistake on their website, that they simply did not have time to update it. Absolutely ridiculous way to do business. Don't order from them!

return process
I have purchased a lot of things from SierraTradingPost and was always satisfied with the quality and service.
My last order arrived damaged and when I contacted customer service they said they were not able to refund me because it was against their policy. I asked them to show me where it was written, but they ignored me.
I wasted a lot of time but they finally agreed to replace the item, but said that I had to ship the defective one back at my own expense. And then I also had to pay for them to ship me a replacement! Are you kidding me? They said that was the only option they could offer.
I'm very disappointed with SierraTradingPost and I doubt that I'll ever order anything from them!
worst ever!
I've tried to place an order here but wasn't able to do that! I've tried over 10 times and every time they cancelled my order! When I contacted
SierraTradingPost customer service they said that there was something wrong with my card so they were not able to process my order. I even called my bank and they said that everything was ok.
Every time I made an order SierraTradingPost took my money and then they cancelled it and refunded me. I have no idea what was going on but I'm very disappointed with this site!
Sierra didn't want to sell me jacket - reason they had problem with my billing address
I tried to purchase jacket online from sierra trading post and i must say that i had the worst shopping experience i ever had and i made 1000+ purchases so far.
They just cancel my order multiple times with absurd reason that my billing address is not as stated during my checkout process. They didn't want to double check with my bank although i confirmed three times that all information that i have provide to them are correct.
I have send photos of my id + credit card photos and still it's not enough for sierra trading post to sell me a jacket from their website.
Their customer support is useless as well and they only provide you with template answers.
I don't recommend anybody shop from sierra trading post !
After few talks with Sierra Trading Post customer support the issue was resolved and I'm very happy and satisfied with price that I paid as well as with shopping experience with Sierra Trading Post!
The sale was scam and it wasn't worth to buy from them
We decided to buy some outdoor equipment for our trip from the company www.sierratradingpost.com. We placed large order and almost all of the items were sold with the discount, but the total sum was rather high. We checked the list and noticed that the seller added $50 for the delivery, but it was mentioned that it was for free if your order was over $100...

Don’t believe to the ads of the company www.sierratradingpost.com. I have ordered from them, because there was discount over 70%. It was big lie, because they didn’t sell me the item with the discount. As well as you want to cancel the order, you need to pay about $25 for it. I don’t think that it is fair and I want to warn other people about this scamming...

I placed the order on www.sierratradingpost.com. It showed that all customers would get 10% off if their order would be over $50. My order was $246 and I got the discount. When I got the receipt, it didn’t have the discount/ I contacted the customer services and the agent told me that they would return money simply. I waited and waited, but still nothing...

I placed an order on may 31 indicating explicitaly that it should be delivered to an address different from the billing one. 2 days later sierratradingpost emailme staying that the order was delayed because booth addresses were different... I explained them again why (I was goinig to be in a hotel in Massachussets). They emailme again with the same crap the next day. I called them on the phone and I explained that they had to rush the order because I was going to leave on friday and the person on the phone offered me an express delivery for thursday. Of course nothing happened on thursday then I called again and they told me that the previous representative typed something wrong in the system and hence my order would arrive next tuesday (long after I am gone). She said the only thing she can do is a refund. This does not solve the problem because I promised my wife the gift that I ordered from them, which I did not received. I dont even know if they will reimburse me (over US$300) because she could also "type" something wrong in the system.
Nobody gave any believable excuse nor took the credit for this mistake.
Aweful service, aweful company lie on the phone, never ever do business with them.

Stealing my money...
I placed an order from STP on the 1st of October (SATURDAY). When I placed the order and decided to pay with Paypal everything went smoothly and the order appeared as completed, I received an email telling me the order was completed amd would be shipped shortly. Well that didn't happen! They did take money off my Paypal, but on the MONDAY I received an email from them saying my order was "pending" because my shipping and billing addresses were different and I had to confirm that info with them, so I did as requested, answering the email at the same day. It was WEDNESDAY and the order still hadn't shipped.
I needed those items for the next weekend so I told them that they should cancel my order and issue a refund. They replied saying they one of the items I ordered was "out of stock". Oh great, yesterday the shipping and billing addresses were different, now it's out of stock? Anyways I informed them that I wanted my order to be canceled. The next day they sent me another email saying my order had been shipped! HAHAHA. I told them that I wanted them to cancel it and they did tell me they had canceled it because something was out of stock. But something happened and they shipped it. LOL.
I have been sending them emails since then and they tell me that they will issue my refund when the order gets back to them (I didn't get a hold of it; they set it to return to them automatically). Hey wait... Now I have to deal with the consequences of THEIR mistake of shipping it to me? I want my money back REGARDLESS of the order getting back to them. My money and I have nothing to do with the fact that they made a mistake and shipped it. It is not my responsibility that the order gets back to them, in fact I don't even have a tracking number to make sure it gets back to them. I want my money back. If THEIR order that shouldn't have been shipped gets back to them or not it's their problem. They are using my money now and I consider it stealing. They should be ashamed of their mistake and give me my money back that is not at all theirs.
I have nothing to do with that order. I want MY money back to me.
MY MONEY IS NOT YOURS SIERRA TRADING POST!

Clearly something has gone awry with out PayPal payment system -- we like to think it makes shopping easier for customers, not more difficult, Allexamina. I'll be passing this link on to our customer experience team, but in the meantime, we really would like to make it up to you. Email me at pr@sierratradingpost.com, and I'll be sure to respond promptly and effectively. -Juliette
Exactly the same scenario like in these 2 complaints happened to me just last week. Except their anonymous customer representative sent me an email stating that due to the different billing and receiving addresses on the order they CANCELLED it. Well, I checked with paypal and there was NO cancellation! It was a lie. The email, however, stated that if I wanted to get the order I needed to REPURCHASE IT this time using a credit card and not paypal! Paypal, of course, didn't know there was a problem until I told them that there was a problem - 3 days later. To Sierra I said, no, I paid for the stuff already, either give me my money back or send the order to the address that you were given. I am not paying twice for the same stuff! To that they issued NO apologies at all (for trying to extort a second payment from me) and instead suggested that I should appreciate that they are trying to protect me from internet fraud! And further that they would hold on to my money for 7 days until I resend them my address. I, of course, told them what I thought of that, who wouldn't? It's fraudulent behavior to take someone's money and not fill their order. If you don't intend to fill the order - return the money, or better yet, don't sell in the first place! I purchased the stuff on Saturday. It's Wednesday and I haven't heard from them (except for idiotic automatic message that I was to fill out a customer review survey since I contacted their customer service - except I didn't contact them, the customer service contacted me with invented problem). I complained to paypal and I am confident that I will get my money back - eventually - and now I'm thinking of calling BBB. Btw, I knew it's a systemic problem for them even without finding these 2 exactly the same scenarios because I swear I was checking if the emails I got STP if they weren't some lame phishing attempts - they were so outrageous! I thought STP website was hacked! They haven't been hacked. This is how STP behaves! Indeed, terrible customer service! Highly unprofessional! Does exactly the opposite of what it should do - it creates problems instead of resolving problems. Well, I am going to get my money back and let them aggravate someone else in the future - I'm done with Sierra Trading Post. Their discounts are not worth the insult and the wasted time.
We’re sorry about your bad experience, aware_customer. We pride ourselves on the ease of shopping with us, and clearly something went wrong here. Give us a second chance? Email me at pr@sierratradingpost.com with your order number or customer number or just the email address associated with your account, and we’ll take care of the refund without bothering you with a return. -Juliette
Terrible customer service
My mother in law who lives in Greeley, Colorado was scheduled to have an extremely high risk open heart surgery on October 6, 2011. She is a wonderful mom and grandmother and deserves every bit of comfort she can get before this scary proceedure. She had mentioned that she had searched several places for a pair of short sleeve button down pajamas to wear in the hospital. She felt it would help her with her dignity and it would just be a small piece of "normalcy" in the midst of chaos that is approaching.
On October 4, 2011 I placed an online order with Sierra Trading Post. I had found the perfect set of pajamas for her, 2 turtleneck shirts that would cover her soon to be surgical scar, and a beautiful scarf that she could use to wrap around her neck post op. I was so pleased to have found these items and I was also very pleased that Sierra Trading Post was located in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Cheyenne is just a short 45 minute drive north of Greeley, Colorado. I had confidence that without a doubt that our order would be processed and delivered on October 5, 2011 since the distance between the two cities is so small. I paid $30.00 for overnight shipping and my order was placed before STP's 3pm deadline. My order said that it would be delivered to Greeley, Colorado on October 5, 2011.
On October 5, 2011 I had not received confirmation of shipping yet at 8am that morning. I called Sierra Trading Post to inquire what was going on with our order. I was extremely disappointed to hear that not only had our order NOT been shipped yesterday as promised by this company, but that it had a "hold" on it. I was told by customer service that STP had sent me an email that morning (10/5/2011) asking me to verify my billing and shipping address since they were different. I understand and appreciate this fraud prevention policy, but there is no fathomable acceptable reason why a phone call to me the day I paid for it to be shipped on was not made to verify my information. My package was paid for to ship on October 4, 2011 and STP should have taken care of that. I was so disappointed that my mother in law would not have these pajamas as she goes into the hospital for her surgery.
There were 4-5 phone calls made to STP on October 5, 2011 begging and asking for them to correct this problem. No one there was willing to go "outside the box" and help. STP promised a service, they made a huge mistake, and they were not willing to help correct the problem. We even asked if there was an employee who could drive the 45 minutes with our order and deliver it themselves and we were told no they could not do that. Could not, or would not? This company prides themselves on providing "optimal service" but we did not received such service.
After hitting a wall with customer service we decided to go out of the box ourselves and used our own contacts in the region. We found someone who was going to be in the Cheyenne area for business and they agreed to pick up our order and hand deliver it themselves to my mother in law. This person, a stranger to us, went out of their way during their own work day and took the time to do an act of kindness that won't soon be forgotton.
The insensitivity and unwillingness to correct a major screw up on the part of Sierra Trading Post will also not soon be forgotton. This has to have been the worst customer service experience I have ever had in my entire life. Huge dissapointment here.
I have been a long time customer of theirs. I will call and tell them they better take care of you.
Wow, I have always had such good experiences with that company. I'm sure they will make it right. I hope your Mom is doing well.
We’re sorry for your bad experience, Aebfaith. It’s not how we like to introduce ourselves to first-time customers. Please know that our customer service leadership team reviewed your order experience and issued a credit to your account. We hope you will give us a second chance. Already, leadership has determined your request for personal delivery should have been accommodated, and we know we’ll do better next time! -Kimberly
One Less Customer
I ordered a pair of Vasque Momenta Trail Running Shoes on-line through Sierra Trading Post. The total bill with shipping was 51.91. There was a problem with the shoe fit, rubbing around the ankle. I wanted to return them in exchange for a trail running shoe made by another company for the same price. They told me I would have to deduct the return shipping cost of 5.95 from my credit. At this point, the original shipping charge of 7.95 + 5.95 (return shipping) puts me at 13.90 thus far. This totally surprised me. I have ordered discount and full price items through other on-line stores and shipping was free if you needed to return/exchange an item. No special programs, deadlines, or other annoying technicalities. Sierra Trading Post does not warn you about return shipping charges. Or at least not on the medium to large print of their website.
I ordered a less expensive replacement shoe and two pairs of socks to compensate for the 5.95 return shipping loss. I was told- as if this is a bonus- I get free shipping on the replacement shoes they send to me. As long as I reorder within 7 days.
Because I paid through PayPal I can not use their “return express” procedure because Sierra Trading Post would need to bill the return shipping rate to my credit card. Ironically, I used PayPal in to avoid giving out my credit card number. Under this policy, if the original shoes I return do not arrive in their warehouse within 7 days I will lose the free shipping “benefit” on my replacement shoes.
Sound complicated? It is and ridiculous too.
I did send back the replacement shoes as they were a worse fit then the original shoe I ordered. I was charged an additional 5.95 shipping. All in all- I started out paying Sierra Trading Post 51.91 for a supposedly good brand of trail shoes (I guess the reviews were trumped up) and have ended up with 26.91 credit and 6.00 socks I really didn’t need. I still do not have the trail running shoes I needed two weeks ago. I lost a total of 20.00 in shipping costs.
I do not recommend buying anything on-line from Sierra Trading Post unless you are absolutely certain of the fit and the item you are purchasing. Otherwise you may ring up a shipping bill amounting to more than the purchase price of the item you ordered.
Furthermore I have been to their outlet store in Reno and am not impressed.
I bought socks at the store online. None of them were comfortable, so I prepared to return them. I, too was charged for return shipping. I paid over $14.00 for shipping both ways. With these costs, the "sale" price of the socks became more expensive than regular prices. Good stores like Zappos, Amazon, and L.L. Bean have free shipping both ways. I will NEVER shop at Sierra Trading Post again!
