extended warranty refund
2010 Honda Ridgeline RTL purchased from Willey Honda of Bountiful, Utah along with the Extended Warranty ($1885.00). It was promised to be refunded if I never had to use it and I have not.
The dealership is now named Performance Honda. I contacted them and they "washed their hands of it". Some dealers are paying these debts back to their customers as a courtesy, but apparently this one is not.
Since Signet is bankrupt and no cooperation coming from the dealer, what can be done to resolve this?
I purchased this vehicle May 11, 2010.
auto service contract refund
I also purchased a service contract refund from Signet and seven years later was shocked to find them out of business and that I was out of a $1300.00 refund that I have been waiting for.
The dealership was useless. I could not locate a class action lawsuit in New York State pertaining to it, and I complained to the NYS Attorney General's fraud office and the media.
There are thousands of people in the country with the exact same story, and there seems to be no recourse other than to be angry.
service contract refund agreement
Purchased a Service Contract Refund Agreement from what I thought was Dolan Toyota in Reno Nevada. The nuance of it being a 3rd party provider and not Toyota was not mentioned. I, of course, did not read the fine print so shame on me. However, I never used the contract and am entitled to a refund of $1, 250.00. I am going to take it up with Dolan Toyota because they should at least refund me the commission they made selling this contract which is now simply lost money for me. As a senior citizen, this really devastates me. I am disturbed at so many levels. After numerous phone calls to Dolan they never even had the courtesy to call me back and explain the situation. So now I am upset with Signet and Dolan Toyota of Reno. I intend to research through various agencies to see what recourse I might have.
Dolan Toyota Scion of Reno reached out to me and have helped me to better understand the situation. The actual warranty was still being covered by Toyota; Signet was at fault on the refundable promise. Toyota did apologize for not reaching out earlier and have made me feel okay about their dealership. However, Signet is still a very "bad guy" and they scammed many people.
I purchased a 2007 Lexus and Dolan Lexus sold me a Signet Financial Group extended warranty. I never used the extended warranty and 84 months later I attempted to contact Signet Financial for a refund as stipulated, and found out they went bankrupt. I paid $1320 dollars for the extended warranty and still have all the papers regarding the warranty. I never knew until now that a third party was handling complaints. I doubt I can get my funds back, but I thought I would attach a complaint against this company. thank you, Robert Neamy, 550 State Route 88, Gardnerville, NV 89460; cellph. Service contract refund agreement
I purchased a brand new hyundai sonata from capital ford/hyundai in carson city, nevada in february 2011. I was encouraged to buy this extended warranty with the agreement stating that if I did not use it within the contract time period, I would get a full refund. When the contract period was up, I wrote a letter to signet financial group requesting a full refund of $1755.00. The letter was returned to me as unable to forward. I called the signet number and found out it was no longer a company in service. I then called the dealership to report this and got a run around from the financial person there. Since, he never got back to me, I called again a week later, and requested to speak to someone else in finance. He told me that the dealership was offering $300 toward service. He also stated that there was a class action law suit and to look it up online.
service warranty
I also have been duped by Signet Financial Group. When I bought my Mini Cooper from a reputable dealer, it was suggested I purchase the service warranty agreement. Now that it is time to collect, I find that there phone numbers are no longer in operation and there is no way to contact them via the internet.
I understand there is a class action suit or there was. Does anyone know if it has been resolved or if it is still possible to join the list of complainants? If so, count me in. $2498 is what I paid.
Refund of Service Contract Agreement
I purchased a car from a Carson City NV auto dealership. In 2015 I was eligible for a full refund of $1, 380.00 because I had never used it. I wrote to the company requesting a refund and my letter was returned as "Unable to Forward, Return to Sender."

I entered into an service contract refund agreement and I can not get in touch with the company. There info is:

When I called Honda I was told that there is a class action against this company and was given this number to call, [protected], they told me it was the D.A. Office. I have called this number a few times only to have to leave a voice mail and no one has returned my calls. I called Honda back and all they would say is " well that's the number we were given".
The water that waided inside the car has caused lot of damages . Although the damages are being attended to by the dealer, yet I am un- aware of the extent there of caused to my Vehicle and consequences thereof in future even if the damages are confirmed to be made good by the dealer .

Signet Financial Group Fraud
All Seasons RV
My name is Randy Jackson from Rochester, Illinois.
I bought a 2006 Puma Travel Trailer from All Seasons RV in Muskegon, Michigan on October 7, 2006 through Ebay. The salesman was Joseph L. Benedict. Mr. Benedict also sold me an extended service contract with a Signet refund addendum for $1, 495.00. The key term of this contract is as follows from the service contract agreement document:
“Signet Financial Group (SFG) agrees to refund the full purchase price ($2, 500 Maximum) of the service contract to the original purchaser named above only if the service contract runs the full months term and is never used.”
This extended service contract I purchased was for seven years and is due to expire October 7, 2013. I have never used this service contract and expected to be refunded the $1, 495.00 after October 7, 2013 as agreed to in the contract. I called the number for the Signet Financial Group (listed below) on April 17, 2013 to inquire about the upcoming refund promise. The phone is disconnected and subsequent internet searches about Signet have revealed that the company was an outright fraud and is out of business.
All Seasons RV is located in Muskegon and the contact information is as follows:

Signet Financial Group is apparently out of business now and their contact information was:

The President of Signet Financial Group is Gregg Lehman
I called All Season RV on April 17, 2013 and talked to a salesman named Mike Coron about this Extended Service Contract they sold me. Mike gave me the All American run-a-round and said All Seasons RV is not responsible for the Extended Service Contract they sold me. He sent me a letter dated May, 2011 from All Seasons RV to their customers stating essentially that they were not responsible for selling me the contract and pointed out exculpatory language in the contract that relieves them from any responsibility for the $1, 495.00 due me.
Another devious and diabolical aspect about this fraud is that it entices you not to have covered warranty work performed if the cost is substantially less than the cost of the extended service contract because you assume that you would be money ahead if you can re-coup the entire cost of the contract verses losing it if you turn in the cheaper warranty work. Example:
Extended Service contract cost: $1, 495.00 *
Water Heater Circuit Board remove/replace: $250.00
Difference $1, 245.00
*Amount is fully refunded if the Extended Service Contract is never used.
As this example shows, you would lose $1, 245.00 if you turned in the $250.00 warranty work and the company was legit and would have refunded you the $1, 495.00.
All Seasons RV may not necessarily have a legal obligation to pay me the money owed but they do have a moral obligation. I wrote the check to ALL Seasons RV, not Signet Financial. Also, All Seasons RV represented Signet as viable and should pay me the $1, 495.00 and try to recoup the $1, 495 from Signet. The salesman really pushed this product and promised me I would get the $1, 495.00 refund. All Seasons RV should honor that promise
It is my understanding, from internet searches, that some dealerships are reimbursing their customers on a case by case basis.
Also, I understand that this Gregg Lehman is now back in business in Texas and living in a multi-million dollar mansion.
I will pursue this issue in perpetuity until I get my money back and/or see Gregg Lehman in jail.

I too purchased a service contract when I purchased my Toyota 4-Runner in 2006. I have held on to the contract in case there is ever a lawsuit against these crooks. I paid $1, 522.00 for a 6 year or 100, 000 mile warranty. Please let me know if I can help in any way. I too would love to get my money back.

Warranty up, no refund
We have been waiting 7 years for the extended warranty on our travel trailer to be done. In fact did NOT sell it because of the warranty refund! Am really frustrated now to find out that we will not be getting back the almost $1700 we paid for it! We are a one income military family and that is almost a month's salary for us. We were hoping for that money!
Am contacting our base legal office to find out if there is any recourse, even if we need to go after the dealership that sold it. They should be help partially responsible since they were paid to sell it! As of right now, they are not giving us the option, but I haven't requested it either. Will wait and see what legal says.
Failure to refund balance of service contract
I contacted and FAXed to SFG all documents, and they acknowledged reciept on 6/10/11. I was informed I would recieve a refund of between $980 and $1015 depending on where they determined covreage ended vs. contract inception. I was told I would have a refund in approximately 25 business days (five weeks). Five weeks would have put us in late July, I have no refund and it is now the end of August. Now the phone number for SFG is out of service, and I have filed a consumer complaint with the State Attorney General's office.
Stay away from this one
I purchased an extended warranty from this company on my ford fusion in 2005. I sent in all the documentation and was always told that its in the processing stage. 3 months later I contacted the dealership about it and wanted to know if they could find anything about this. The owner of the Ford dealership told me that to be loyal to our customers that they would give me the money toward the purchase of a new vehicle over the next 2 or 3 years. I went to buy a new vehicle last night and guess what? They wanted to give me a 1, 000 dollars over my trade in and 1, 000 dollars toward the purchase of a 2500 dollar extended warranty. I said I don't have a trade in and I don't want to buy another extended warranty. They told me they couldn't do anything else for me. I'm not sure what to do. . Another scam this dealership was offering was tires for life.
Just got my letter returned to me in the mail. Followed all the measures for a refund, and it looks like bad news. We were not going to do a warranty on purpose and then the sales person really pushed us to get this and sold us on "well if you don't use it you will get it back" well now look where we are. Very frustrating and wondering what to do next. Wanted to note that I am going to look forwarded into what to do next and will post anything I find for class action suits and such.
Fails to refund as promised
On June 18, 2005, I purchased a new 2005 Saturn Vue automobile from the Saturn of Beaverton (Oregon) dealership. As part of the sales price, I bought a vehicle service contract from Signet Financial Group of Vacaville, California, with a purchase price of $2335 and a term of 72 months.
The service contract was strongly recommended by the sales representative of Saturn of Beaverton, who sold me the car, as well as the Saturn of Beaverton finance manager. Their arguments were similar to this: “How can you lose? If you don't have any claims against the service contract, you will receive a full refund from Signet at the end of the 72 months.”
During the 72 months, I made no claims against the contract. Therefore, according to the promise made by Signet, we should now receive a refund of $2335.
On June 20, 2011, I sent a certified letter to Signet at the address on our contract requesting the refund. Two weeks later, the post office returned the letter unopened with the notation “Signet Financial Group, box closed, unable to forward, return to sender.”
From a recent search on the Internet, I found that in 2001, the Insurance Commissioner of the State of California issued an “Order to Show Cause” to Signet Capital Corporation, d.b.a. Signet Financial Group, for business activities similar to what I encountered. I was not advised by Saturn of Beaverton of the possibility that Signet might not fulfill the conditions in their contracts.
Since Signet apparently sold service contracts that they were unable to support, and Saturn of Beaverton did not warn me about Signet defaulting on their contracts, I believe both organizations should be investigated for fraud. On request, I can provide information for a criminal investigation or a class-action suit against Signet.
Same story as everybody else. I feel like I was pressured into purchasing a $900 extended warranty on my 2006 Honda Civic. At the time, i was told that I would be refunded the purchase price if I did not make any claims during the warranty period. When the date arrived, I sent off the required documentation through certified mail. It was returned, marked "undeliverable."
I have left messages with the car deal who sold me the policy, and have yet to receive a call back.
My next step will be a series of letters to the dealer, the Better Business Bureau, the Utah State Attorney General, and my representatives in the Utah State Legislature.
Refund request ignored
After talking to Mr Johnson on several dates in February 2011, and confirming all documents required, I sent the package off to Signet. After the prescribed 60 days and no further contact I called Signet, e-mailed and sent a registered letter. After getting no response I sent an e-mail to Kamala Harris Attorney General of California, only to be advised that Signet had gone out of business, and thus they could not assist me. I then contacted my dealer in Reno Nevada, discussed it with them, again, nothing they can do. The sum in question is $1595.00, and I have all the documents required for the refund, and all communication details with Mr. Johnson who identified himself as "Refund Department Manager."
Can't contact for refund form
We bought a new car from a Carson City NV dealer with an extended warranty guaranteed by Signet which would be refunded at end of 5 years if we didn't use it. The amount to be refunded is $990. We called the 877# of Signet in Vacaville CA in anticipation of requesting a refund the following month, only to find the phone # is disconnected and there is no new number.
An Internet search shows numerous stories of others in the same situation, no one to contact, office closed, etc. We contacted the local dealer and were told to file a complaint with Solano County CA District Attorney as the county where Signet's last known address had been located. They sent us forms to file a complaint and we promptly returned them. We contacted the Nevada State Attorney General's office and were told to file a complaint with the Dept of Motor Vehicles. We did and were told they couldn't do anything as Signet was not located in Nevada.
They disappear with your money
I bought a Toyota Prius in April 2005. I bought an extra warranty because the dealer encouraged me to saying if it's not used I would be reimbursed. Last month I made my final payment and pulled my folder thinking I had a nice little nest egg since I had not used it. Called the number and it did not say disconnected. It said something like 'this business is not answering and we will disconnect now.' Then I quickly did a Google search and to my chagrin, up pops pages and pages on Signet Financial Group being a bunch of crooks and scamming folks out of maybe millions of dollars. I just called my dealership who also felt like a victim of this company. People like Greg L. should go to jail and any other owner in this business. I plan to make as many waves as I can about this intentional 'ponzy' scheme. Where are they with our money?
I too found out today that Signet is no longer in business
I too found out today that Signet is no longer in business. After a call to our dealer we found out we are on our own. Because Signet is CA based the Insurance Commissioner's office has asked us to file a complaint so they can investigate them.
We too bought an extended warranty for our camper with Signet Financial group. They filed bankruptcy over a year ago and have seemed to disappear without any further from them. We are out lots of $$$. Does anyone know if their is a Class action lawsuit ? They prolly went bankrupt and reopened under another name. We contacted California Attorney General and they don't seem to know anything either.
Service contract refund agreement - not honored
Submitted all the paper work on time in September 2010, and after many calls was told the refund amount was approved and had been turned over to their insurance carriers and they would issue the refund check on April 1. Called SFG on April 8, and reieved a message that they are closed until further notice. Based on other complaints, it looks like they will not honor the contract.
They should be ashamed of their poor customer service
We purchased a camper in 2006 with a four year service contract. It stated that if we did not use the service that we would be refunded our full amount fo the service contract. (about 1500.00) We followed all procedures (like jumping through hoops, it is not an easy process) to apply for our refund. Th contract states that you will receive a refund 60 days after everything has been verified etc. We filed for this in September ( you only have a 30 day timeframe to get all the required paperwork in or you do not receive your refund) Months go by and finally in Janurary they said that we would be cut a check on Jan. 28. We never received the check. After endless calls and voicemails we were told that they would reissue the check.
It's now almost the end of March and we still do not have a check. We have left so many voicemails with different individuals (atleast 15) and even to the president of the company) We have never received a call back from the company. When we finally were able to get in touch with someone they didnt know what was going on or what to do. What kind of business is this and why are they still in business. I am so disgusted with this company. That's what wrong with the world today, no one cares. That might not be alot of money to them but it is to me. Be careful who you do business with. We have yet to resolve this, hope we do but I feel as though it may be a lost cause. They should be ashamed of their poor customer service.
Warranty was not refunded
Purchased extended warranty on new Ford Escape purchased from Dan Wiebold Ford in Nampa, Idaho. The warranty was around 1800.00. We were told if we did not use it we would get it refunded to us. We did not use the warranty and when the time was up we sent in all the paperwork, we even went to Dan Wiebold and they gave us the correct paperwork to send in to Signet . We took all the pictures that they required and followed the instructions carefully. After no refund we called the company and we were told it would be sent out next month. Still no refund than we called again and were told it would be sent out in two weeks. It is about 4 months later and no refund. We now have been told from the company basically that they are filing bankruptcy and we will not be getting a refund. It would be nice if the auto dealers checked these companies out better before offering them to thier customers. This company is bad news!
