I arrived at the Smartstyle about 7 minutes before they open with my daughter. Before the store opened another customer ( Jourdan Gaudet) also walked up and waited. When the store opened my daughter and I got to the counter first. I advised Maria that my daughter needed a wash and flat iron. She advised that she probably wouldn't be able to start on it because she has a 10:30 a.m. appointment. That is when Jordan advised that she was the 10:30 a.m. appointment. I then asked her what she was getting and she advised just the top of her hair cut because the rest was already freshly cut. I advised Maria that we would wait. When she was done with Jordan she washed. blow dried, and flat ironed my daughter hair. When it was time to pay My daughter pulled out her $100.00 bill and Maria advised her that it would be $60.97 for a wash and flat iron. The screen displayed a tip but she was not given a tip. The whole time in my head I am thinking that I have went to many Smart Style Salons and never paid that amount. I noticed that when she gave my daughter her change she kept a $20.00 bill out of the register. I believe that she overcharged so that she could get extra money to put in her pocket. We did not give her a tip.I even called surrounding Smart Style locations and they advised that there is no way it should have cost that much. I then went back to Smart Style because it did not seem right. I asked her for a price list she advised that she didn't have a list she could give me. She went on the little display screen and typed in something and it did not pull up what we requested. She mumbled something about a silkpress and thermal that was 90.00. I told her that I have visited other Smartstyles and was never charged this price. She advised that all stores are different. I understand if that is the case but that was just a ridiculous amount. A few minutes later I noticed that the receipt had someone elses name on it. I went back and asked for my receipt with my name but she refused to give it to me. I spoke to the store manager and he advised that I have to contact your department. I need to know if she stole from the register and if I was overcharged.
