On October 4, 2023 I visited the SonoBello office located in Norfolk VA for a consultation, filled out approximately 15 pages of my personal medical info and was given dates of November 8th and 14 for pre-op consult and surgery. This office also charged me $2500.00 up front at this appointment which came out of my checking account as I did NOT want to charge that fee to any credit card or financial institution. I was later the next day disqualified due to several factors on my medical history. I had a detailed conversation with the nurse named "Sidney" who explained that a point system was used to qualify a candidate and I didn't pass the test. So she said I would be refunded the $2500.00 deposit but gave no amount of time to receive it. I called on October 9th and asked about the time frame for refunds and the receptionist said up to 30 days. THIS IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE business practice as that money could've stayed in my pocket if my medical history was going to disqualify me. Your office and its representatives had ALL my medical information, age, list of previous surgeries and list of current medications and measurements. This practice of taking a large deposit at the appointment and meeting with a sales consultant and NOT properly screening someone at the same time is deceptive and outrageous. You could've saved us ALL a little grief and disappointment if my visit had been handled differently. I want my refund now, today is October 17, 2023 and I'm still waiting. I am planning on reporting your company and its deceptive practices to the BBB and will NOT give a favorable review on your website nor give anyone a referral because of my experience either. You DON'T have a right to take someone's money like that IF there is ANY possibility of not providing a service to them, under any circumstances, that they paid for in advance! My name is Susan Bailey and I live in Chesapeake, VA.
Desired outcome: I want my $2500.00 payment refunded now and NOT at your leisure. Also, I think you should reconsider taking large deposits in advance at these first consultation appointments.
