I filed a claim with State Farm on October 13, 2023. What happened was that I had a toilet replaced with a new one. When the installer was getting ready to install said new toilet, he discovered that the bottom of the old toilet was sealed with caulk. He also discovered that there is mold in the area where the old toilet was. He was so concerned, he contacted a company that deals with mold issues. The restoration company came to my home to check to see how bad the mold was. The equipment she used indicated that the mold is severe. It took 4 days for State Farm to get a hold of me. Also, they used an claims adjuster who is not local in my area. I was under the impression that claims adjusters came to a persons home to evaluate the claim being made. That never happened. State Farms' way of dealing with a homeowners claim is over the phone only. That is so wrong. This claims adjuster I spoke with via phone put words in my mouth about what had happened. I had no leak whatsoever. When I received the email about the claim, I was so shocked to see how he worded everything to make it seem like this was a existing issue, and that they denied my claim based on that.
Desired outcome: I would like to have this work done that needs to be done. This type of work with getting rid of a mold issue isn't cheap. I am willing to pay my deductible and have this done without all the drama.
