My wife and 3 kids went into the S&S in gastonia today (our reg S&S).we tend to eat there alot.we were seated at 3:26pm.our order was takin 12 mins after we were seated.we went to manager, after waitng 40 mins for our food and enform him we were not happy and leaving. then he charges me for 3 adult and 2 child drinks.i am sorry but i really dont think that was professional.not sure if we will be attending this location again, which sucks because its our local.in turn, we will not be eating at S&S again.thank you.i do apologize but i wasnt given a receipt or could supply store info.

Every time I go to this location of steak and shake something is up. I'm not a person to complain in the slightest but I've had it. In particular, two instances where I felt cheated is the last time I went to steak and shake drive through I ordered a speciality chocolate fudge brownie shake and received a plain chocolate shake.. I got home by the time I realized that there were no brownie or fudge to be found in my shake.. so I paid an extra 1.50 or whatever for a plain chocolate shake? Wow. Then tonight.. I have a coupon for a steak and shake meal, I ask for chili to be my additional side.. guess what.. I got home and there was no chili. I pay extra for items and then don't get them from your locations. Feels like I'm getting scammed out of my money and my patience continues to be tested. This is ridiculous and infuriating that things like this keep happening at the same place. And will I get my money back or my food.. not unless I wanna drive all the way back there to get it. Which is what I shouldn't have to do to get the things I ordered. Please do something for me

I went through drive through, only ordered a double steak burger with only cheese and a coke. My burger was not cooked fully and they had it wrong. While sitting waiting for 15 minutes I had a lot of rude comments and attitude from the manger and employee. My coke was not carbonated it was straight syrup! When I asked for a fix they gave me the wrong drink. Also when i got ky burger back it had hair and what looked like spit in it. This is a place I have loved and come to for years and I haven never had the problems I did today. I will not be back I am also contacting corporate.

I had the worst service with no consideration that i was the customer on break that couldnt eat because my order was wrong with no time to get it remade and was told i couldnt get a refund and not once did she even apologize for the inconvenience immediately i received attitude. The bad part is it was by a manager who also walked away while i was explaining the issue. I also called cooperate who said they would have someone call and follow up which never happened.
my trip to steak 'n shake
We arrived at this restaurant in Concord, North Carolina at night with my friends after a concert. The store was very busy and there were only a few working. Being the chaos that was at hand, we waited for a table for a long time before someone told us we could sit at one that had been available for the whole wait. However the table was very dirty. We waited another long time before we got our drinks. Everything was ok then they got the order wrong and blamed it on us. We tried to explain the order was wrong at the register but we were not taken seriously and treated as if we were dumb. I'm very disappointed considering I love the food at Steak 'n Shake.

On 7/9/17, I bought a milk shake from the Steak n Shake at:

We started in the take out line at 8:57 pm. Three cars were ahead of us. It took until 9:23 pm to get the shake. While waiting for the order at the take out window, we observed five employee enter this area. Driving out we saw no more than a handful of customers sitting in the restaurant.
I have been a customer of Steak n Shake for over 30 years. I will never go back to the Bolingbrook store again.

Went to Steak n Shake today around 7:30 pm in Springfield MO on Battlefield Rd. First the drive thru guy said we had everything we ordered but after he left my granddaughter told me her shake wasn't there. He came back with it but I was taking my granddaughter to the park to eat. Not only were the salt and pepper I requested not in the bag but no napkins and no fries...very annoying. I called and talked to Phillip he didn't appoligize just seemed like I was bothering him. Just said come back to get the fries now but we were on the other side of town so starved that we had eaten the burgers and our hands were all greasy but anyway we like to eat our fries WITH our burgers. He said I will have to come back another day to get some fries but we really don't eat fries by themselves and I don't feel I want to eat there anymore anyway because he seemed mad at me for calling. Mistakes are one thing but how you deal with your customers after it happens is even more important. Sorry I bothered you Phillip but treat your customers better, appoligize and make it right so maybe they'll want to come back. PS this is the 3rd time we've had something like this happen at this store.

I just thought you would like to know every single time my family goes to the Steak 'n Shake in Martinsville Indiana its always a joke. I don't know why we ever go back there. The service sucks. We waited over an hour for our lunch. Not to mention we waited in line for about 20 min to be seated. We ended up leaving because we still hadn't got our food and we had a three year that was hungry. Every single time we go here it's this way. Once they even completely forgot us. My husband had to ask if they were ever going to take our order. That was on Mother's Day of all damn days! We will never go back there. The service is always awful. They really need to hire people that have a clue on how to be servers.

I went thru the drive thru ordered the xtreme double bacon combo when I got home to eat my fries were hard as a rock like they had been sitting in the warmer too long I didnt recieve a reciept either It was too late to turn around and show them my order I live on the other side of town I had been atvthe hospital with my grandmother all day long and needed something quick to eat maybe i should have just went to bed hungry because it was a waste fries are my favorite but will never order from that location again
slow drive thru service & cold food
Sat. Night pull into steaknshake drive thru @8:35.takes 31 min. to get thru. Kid @window has order wrong & her response is "my bad". I made a comment about slow service and she replied "ya kinda". This is not the first time I have been thru this steak nshake and it taken forever to get through the line. If I wanted to wait that long for my food I'd gone to a sit down resteraunt & gotten good food! This was the worst crap I have tasted. Fries tasted like they'd been sitting in the rack for a day & not under a heat lamp. They were very cold. I'm not sure there was even a piece of meat on my sandwich. Steaknshake use to be one of my fav places to eat, even though they were more expensive than other places.
Tried to find a place to send a comment to steaknshake but apparently they dont want to hear complaints! There are too many other establishments that want to try to improve. Fast food is so expensive these days, if you have to wait in line @ drive thru that long...you should have good hot food.

In Marion Ohio, by Meijers, we had our order rushed, our sentences cut off, and huffs and groans after our order of only three meals . Normal service behavior I've noticed, and drawing a thin line at continuing to be a loyal customer . Also, the salads here always have water at the bottom of the bowl, along with unexplaned residue left inside cups .
slow service - dirty facility
I finally received my small, basic order but the sales clerk hastily dropped the bag on the counter in front of me. She never even looked inside so I had to tell her there were no fries as ordered and paid for. When using the restroom, it was out of toilet paper and only a few hand towels on the roll on top of the container (container was empty). Restrooms and entire facility was dirty, especially the restrooms. Food was only average. I won't go there again.

On 7/8/17 at 12:18:21am we ordered two simple items. Fries and a shake. Not only were we missing the extra Oreos which we insisted be on the side- we were charged for a completely different order altogether. The girl originally charged us for $12.51, then proceeded to hand us a coke. Of course this isn't our order and she shows no effort in correcting it at first. Eventually she refunded us a total of $8.06 (how much we were supposed to be charged originally) then took our card and charged us $8.06 AGAIN. I am not sure if they lack basic math, but we were still overcharged. We eventually got our other $4 dollars back, still losing out on 45 cents and a now melted shake. We did not even recieve an apology, or a new shake, and being late at night and in the drive-thru did not want to take any longer. The name on the receipt is Kelli R and this was from the Batavia, Illinois location. Please help, as we are unsure why whenever we come here we always receive less than decent service. Thanks.
milkshakes
I come throw the drive thru at least 5 times a week just for milkshakes. This week let alone my milkshakes have been wrong. The first time I went inside & got it fixed & the manger was really ride about it & seemed not care.. Tonight I called after getting home because milkshakes were wrong once again, the worker that answered the phone was talking to someone else in the back round when she answered, then when I told her what was wrong she told the manger I said myilksahkes were watery & that's not even close to what I said, the manger got on the phone arguing with me trying to tell me I didn't just come through the drive thru & that I have to pay extra for two things in my milkshakes which I knew that, but that's not what I called about & then the manger hung up on me. I will not being go back.

This evening I came through the dt at the steak and shake in Altamonte Springs, Fl. Although my order was correct, I didn't receive my sauces. When I pulled off I had to circle back around to go through the dt again. My dog was in the car and is ill so I couldn't leave her alone or I would have walked inside no problem. I asked if someone could bring the sauces out to me and instead they made me wait in line again with 4 cars ahead of me. Meanwhile all my food is now cold. I would like a refund. This is rediculous.
being closed mon-fri from 2-5am
I have a third shift job and try to frequent this location since it's conveniently close, the problem is every time I pull up they say they're closed or not taking orders. I was curious and went through for a whole week and got the same reason.i really like your guys food being dinner, but I'm very disappointed about to give up on the franchise.please do something about this I miss my steak and shake dinners.

I have worked in the food service industry for ten years so am typically never one to complain. However, I just went through the drive thru with my boyfriend, his daughter and his niece and received the worst customer service I have ever experienced. First, there was only one car in front of us and one table occupied on the store yet we still pulled forward and waited over half an hour for our good. During this time two separate employees came out asking what we ordered again. After thw second employee employee came to the vehicle I went inside because I wanted to be polite and try to alleviate THEIR stress so they wouldn't have to keep running outside. At this point, the girl who took out order got very rude with me and told me that I was wrong about what I ordered and handed me the bag of cold food. She didn't even offer to make what we had actually ordered . She just basically was telling me to take it or leave it. The receipt I'm in our bag had the correct order on it but instead of admitting that and attempting to fix the problem she was just extremely rude even though we had been nothing but polite the entire time we were waiting and waiting and waiting . As I've said, I typically don't like to complain because I understand the job can be stressful but I am I'm in disbelief over how we were just treated and felt the need to let you know.

The drive through was very unfriendly and unprofessional. They messed up my shake 3 different times two in the drive through and then once inside. The lady that helped me get it right inside tried to say it was my fault the shake was wrong and she wasn't sorry or anything for it and had a terrible attitude about it. Horrible service and after I got the correct shake there was chunks of frozen things in my shake that shouldn't have been in there.

The steaknshake in Noblesville, In. Is the dirtiest diner I have ever frequented. July 5th we stopped in and even the salt and pepper holders were FILTHY along the floor was a real eye catcher- unbelievably so. Maybe the Board of Health should be Notified? Was worried about eating there but called up some courage and did so. A black eye for the company and I wondered why and how it could be so dirty, the floor was even Greasy! Clean this building up!
didn't get my whole order
On July 4th 2017 my boyfriend and I were in Rockford about 30 minutes away from where we live to see the fireworks. We usually always go through steak and shake because the food and service is usually pretty good. This time however it was not. We both ordered a meal. Order # 529451 @ Steak 'n Shake No 220.It was very busy so it took about 10 minutes in the driver-thou just to get our order. I ordered an triple extreme combo with no tomato meal and the double stack portable with no onions meal and a snicker jr shake. We usually check the bag before leaving town, but it was getting a little late so we just left. So my boyfriend looks in the bag while we are on the highway and there are no fries at all. I told him to double check again. So he did and there were no fries. I check my receipt and I was charged the meal price for the triple extreme but not the double stack portobello. So I am pretty irritated but still hungry so I go to eat my burger and it is just full of onions. I can't even pick them off or out because I am driving by the time I would be able to a half hour would of gone by and the burger would be cold. So my boyfriend goes to eat his triple extreme and his burger is cold. I am highly disappointed with the service not to mention the fact my order was not taken correctly and that I was charged on my debit for food that we didn't even receive.
