Stein Mart coupon for 20% off

I have a credit card with your company, and spend hundreds of dollars at your stores. I find it unsatisfactory that I was presented a 20% off entire purchase for anything over $50 only good for today, and not refundable on other purchases, for using your stein mart credit card. I would have waited to shop today. I just spent over $200 yesterday and even asked if there were points or a discount I could use, which the associate said there was none. To see this coupon come out the next day that could have saved me probably $50 on the purchase is very upsetting. I think as a customer for years, with a credit card through your company, I should be allowed to receive the 20% discount on the items I bought yesterday. If you do not feel the same way, I will no longer support your company and will take my business elsewhere.

Stein Mart overcharged and have not received my money back in two weeks

Order number = [protected] was placed online 2/8/2018. I bought 11 items online that were clearance bedding items. I was overcharged $49.82. I was charged the regular/sale price not the clearance price. no one notified me, I found the overcharged amount when I went to my paypal account. I have contacted steinmart cs numerous times. the last time I was told it should be refunded by 2/23/2018. it was not! today is 2/24/2018. it has been two weeks. I was also told they have to credit each of the 11 items one at a time — even though we both agree I was overchaged $49.82. I am so frustrated that I opened complaints with paypal against steinmart and stein mart has not responded to paypal either. I want my money.

Stein Mart credit card that was never received

Dear Gentlemen:
We have a situation that I hope you can help rectify. Spring of last year, my wife, Shigeko Whitley shopped at the Steinmart located at 50 Ernest W. Pkwy, Marietta, GA 30066. While checking out, the store clerk processed a credit card application for my wife. She had thought that she was only registering for a store discount membership card. When Lifelock contacted us, I found out what had happened. I was not concerned because we love Steinmart. However, we never received any correspondence. We never received the credit card and therefore, didn't activate a card.
Last Monday, we were contacted by Midland Credit Management, Inc. attempting to collect an on a defaulted account for $83.59. Mr. Davison with Midland, helped me call into your agents in an attempt to find out what happened with this account. However, your agents could not help us. The account number is [protected], and our address at the time was: 3350 George Busbee Pkwy NW, Apt. 901, Kennesaw, GA [protected]
It seems that the Steinmart employee didn't obtain the apartment number, and therefore, the mail was never received. I am sure that you can correct this problem very easy, and the best part is it only for $83.59.
This activity is on my wife's credit report, and it my expectation that you first contact Midland and remove the account from collections. Secondly, to have it removed from her credit history on all three reporting companies.

Stein Mart never buy online

I went through over a month of hell with your lack of service over one stupid sweater. I have spent at least $50, 000 in your stores, but I will never shop with you again after your lousy service. I received some ugly sweater that looked used and had no tags on it from an online purchase. It looked like the person who did my packaging stole the sweater I wanted because it was the last one and gave me hers. I dealt with 4 managers at the stores, several people in service, and at least one service manager who actually told me she can't even do a return. You really should have better service than this, especially for customers that are supposedly preferred without a history of returns. Service like this will put you out of business! At least Nordstroms will now appreciate my business. Bye!

Stein Mart manager @ stein mart in colorado springs, co / customer service

I am an Elite member at Stein Mart & have been for far too many years. I regularly shop there & look forward to receiving my two 20% off regularly priced items every January in my birthday month. Well, I did not receive the coupons via the postal service as I usually do, so I called to the Colorado Springs store off Nevada where I regularly shop & told them my dilemma & the sales associate told me to come on in & she would tell the manager & honor the birthday discount. I said great, I would be right over. Please make note that it was Sunday January 21st & it snowed all day & there were very few cars on the road! I decided to go for it because I had surgery scheduled that following day & I would not have another chance to get over there until well into February, not my birthday month! So here is my complaint, I was maybe one of three people in the whole store & when I came up to the register the sales associate called the manager on the phone as she promised she would, told her I was an Elite member & my situation but the manager would only give me one coupon instead of the two I would normally receive. I did not say a word to the sales lady, paid for my purchase & walked out to brave the icy roads home. I promise you that I will never step foot into another Stein Mart again! The stupidity of that manager is beyond belief. There are far too many great online companies out there with beautiful clothing & competitive priceing that I do not need this aggravation!

I always thought they only gave out one birthday coupon... well that’s how I’ve always seen it when I’m on the register! But what would I know, I’m just an employee!

The tales of your driving in the snow are a little over dramatic. Just remember, you were the one who chose to drive through all of that for a lousy coupon. (20% off two items isn’t really a lot)

As for you never shopping there again, good! Now the people working at that store will has one less difficult customer to deal with!

Stein Mart misleading return policy

Stein Mart refused to accept for return a shirt for $32 that was unused with all tags attached and accompanied by my receipt. Their outside service determined I had too many returns. I have spent thousands of dollars at Stein Mart with only a small percentage in terms of dollars and items returned. This policy not only rips off consumers who expect a merchant to honor their return policy, it is also fraudulent in my opinion. Buyers Beware at Stein Mart. If you buy something there--- do not expect to return it!

Well that awful policy is alive and well. My 88 year old mother has been shopping there for many years. She mostly buys items and takes them home to try on. She then keeps items and returns what she doesn’t want. The place where she lives provided transportation to/from the mall where the store is. So the amount of shopping time is limited. Again let me stress we are talking about an 88 year old woman with poor eyesight.
Now for the story- she returned items last week at the Steinmart in Boca Raton on Glades Rd as she has done in the past . She then proceeds to purchase a couple of items she saw for me (her 61 year old daughter) quickly so she can make her transportation pickup. I come to visit and I take her to return those items as they did not fit . We we told we could not return them as she reached her limit of returns. They were rude and referred her to a “transaction” policy slip that printed out when this return was rejected. I could barely read the print out let alone my mom! This policy was never verbally explained to her when she got the “return warning” with her prior return the day before. WHICH SHE WAS UNAWARE OF -RUDE AND DISMISSIVE associate at the register and manager. Their attitude was “don’t shoot the messenger. We don’t make the policy and we cannot override the system”. Basically we are left with going thru a third party to make our case to see if they will override and let her return the items and get the credit put back on her credit card.
My mother is outraged and mad as hell! She has had a few sleepless nights over this - I am serious about that! I will attempt to follow through but based on this policy don’t expect any positive result. STEINMART WILL BE OFF THE LIST OF STORES TO SHOP AT. I think the Better Business Bureau should look into this or other agency. I will post the outcome so fellow Steinmart shoppers are informed. Shameful!

Same exact thing happened to me! They would not except my return. Called customer service and was promised a return call within 24-48 hours. I have called Steinmart customer service 4 times over a two week period with no response! How are they getting away with this? If a customer has a receipt, how can you be told you "have too many returns". Have never had this happen
at any other store! They don't have to worry about me returning anything anymore as I will no longer be shopping there!

Stein Mart service

I Elissa Fant recently purchased clothing from Stein Mart, I am a frequent customer of your store in Greenbriar, the sum of the purchase was $150.00 with $10.00 off for each $50.00 ($30.00 total), this was not applied to the transaction and the cashier refused to apply the $30.00 to my purchase. It may sound petty but fair is fair. If this is not resolved I will return the items and stop shopping at your store.

I work at stein mart and we occasionally have an offer where we give a customer who spends over $50 a $10 off coupon to use on their next purchase of $30 or more. The limits are one per customer and you can only use one on your purchase. People try to abuse this and use multiple coupons so there are limits. The clothing is already discounted, somebody made them, the store can’t just give merchandise away when a customer wants everything dirt cheap.

Stein Mart unethical behavior from assistant manager

I went to make a payment on 11-29-17 on store #161 in Laredo, Texas
I was doing a partial payment with cash and I tried to use my credit to pay extra, (I was not aware that a credit card can not be use for that).
The assistant manager Leticia Cardenas was present at that moment, withing hours she was calling a friend, that she is also my friend, telling her that I did not have enough money to make a payment, and I was using a credit card.
I do not know what kind of rules and regulations Stein Mart have, but this kind of behavior is very unprofessional and unethical, that person need to be reprimand or else, and apologize to the customer...

Stein Mart response from district manager

I called customer service about a complaint and spoke with a supervisor, who could do nothing so she informed me I would receive a call from corporate with in 24 to 48 hours that was well over a week ago. I even called back to speak with her and was suppose to be put through to her again and I got a store. Do they know what they are doing? I called and canceled my charge and they just tried to scare me into keeping it, I couldn't open it again, loose stuff I don't know I just cancelled it why would I want it again! Its a shame because I really likes the regulars at the one in Rochester, and the management there. I had to leave after they kept me there for 40 minutes and still they made me return something as if I had no receipt when in fact I did! Blonde women with shoulder length hair. Who was said to be management and a women I had never seen there before. I was a regular shopper there and knew most of the employees.

Stein Mart service

I called in to complain last month about my earrings not given to me when I purchased all my items. The Manager (who was very rude and disrespectful) informed me that the earrings were tied to my garment bag per the so-called video. I informed her there was no extra bag and I put my items right into my front seat when I got in the car. I requested to see the video and she laughed at me and said she couldn't do that. In was like oh well we put them on the garment bag and you should have them. I advised again no one told me that they were attached to the bag and to check to see if they fell off. She laughed again and rudely replied there was nothing she could do for me. Now normally I would have just said oh well I'm out of 25.00 and move on. But because of her disrespect and rudeness, I called and attempted to make a formal complaint via to your cust serv line. I was supposed to hear back from the district manager and never heard back. I called your 800 line and they said they would have him call back well. The manager from the stored ended up calling me back and said " smacking her lips um well they said you wanted me to call back (which I thought the district mgr would call but oh well) She was still rude and said she would send me a store voucher for the credit of my earrings, well I never received it and I waited 3 weeks to get it and still haven't received it. Let me just say this: I had 57K blog viewers on the call listening to the call. We were impressed with the customer service from the 800 # but we were disappointed and appalled at the way the whole situation was handled and the disrespectful manager at the store in Kennesaw GA. I shop all the time at your store and have been shopping there for years me and my mother and now my daughters. This store used to be so classy and had workers who were so full of life and very respectful I am so disappointed in the way this was handled and would like to file a formal complaint again.

Stein Mart online ordering/ customer service

This was my first time shopping at Stein Mart. I found a 8 piece comfort set for 99.00 I thought that was a great deal so I purchased it online. 2 days later the same set was a "doorbuster" for 49.00. I contacted Steinmart.com and asked if I could get the doorbuster price... they said yes that I would take up to 5 working days. In the 5 days I received my order. But I didn't receive the money back into my account. I called again after 5 days and then was told that they could not give me the doorbuster price. So I said I could have sent it back and got full refund and got it at the doorbuster price. The response was yes. I said that was stupid. I would have sent back but I had wash it. I will NEVER buy anything from this store AGAIN!

Stein Mart poor service

I was soooo excited to order a sport jacket that was on clearance. The additional black Friday discounts really put this item on the top of my Christmas list. As I went in to order this product, only one size (52 L) was available to order. As I put this in my shopping bag and began to checkout, I applied the appropriate code for discounts. I was beyond excited to see the price come down to a very favorable value. As I attempted to check out using Paypal, the order disappeared and I was unsuccessful with receiving this great deal. I'm am beyond upset and just having a hard time coming to accept this. I've attempted to go back into the website however, no luck to receive this deal.

Stein Mart management

I have never been to such a store that treated there associates with such disrespect in my life. The lakeland fl stein mart needs a shift in management asap, their store manager and home good manager are two of the rudest people I have ever seen interact with their employees before. I felt so sorry for the young women who have to deal with them on a daily basis. I will certainly not be shopping when those two managers are working.

Stein Mart online purchase cannot be returned to store

I only purchase online from local stores so I can return in person to save shipping costs. No where on Stein Marts website does it say that if you pay through Pay Pal it has to be retuned by mail. I am angry that they are getting away with this as the store said they have no way to credit a PayPal purchase. meanwhile all other retailers, Macy's, Home Depot, etc. do.

Stein Mart loyal customer letter offering discounts

I received by mail a "Loyal Customer" letter offering $10 off a purchase of $50, or $20 off $100. It stressed that no coupon was needed and no date of composition or expiration date appeared in the letter. Since I've received in the past discounts in birthday letters good for a month, I didn't rush to the store. A week and a half after getting the letter I shopped at a nearby Stein Mart at 144th & I 25 in Thornton. I had a purchase of over $100.00 and presented the letter to the checkout clerk. The store clerk stated the promotion was no longer active and they could deduct only $10, the current discount being offered that weekend. They took the letter so I don't have any proof, but there appear to be other customers with the same experience.

I am disappointed that Stein Mart doesn't really appreciate its loyal customers. If they did they would reissue these "loyal customer" letters and be clear about the active deadline for the discounts.

Stein Mart rip off

Received by mail promotion $10. off $50. or $20 off $100/ no coupon needed and no date posted.
Oct 5 and had a purchase of over $150.00. The store clerk stated I was one of many complaining since the promotion ended Sunday the 2nd. There was no expiration date and stated no coupon needed. I had another $70.00 purchase I wanted to make and put back after the disappointment of not being able to use the $20.00 saving. Felt bamboozled. Not happy.

Stein Mart item priced wrong

I was at the Stein Mart in Lafayette, LA on Saturday Sept. 23. I was browsing some items on the 50% off rack. I found an item that I wanted to purchase, so I took it to the register. The item scanned at regular price, but on the tag there was a red line marked through the regular with a discounted price. I let the cashier know that there were similar items on the 50% off rack with the discounted price as well. I went and got 3 similar items with the discounted price, but the one that I wanted still rang up at the regular price. She told me it was probably because it was a different color. I asked her could she sell it for the discounted price; she said she would have to check with the manager. The manager was called up and she said she couldn't sell it for the discounted price because it rang up regular price. I asked her could she honor the price that was on the tag because it was discounted and in was on the 50% rack. She told me no because someone must have placed it on the wrong rack. I left the story and decided to call customer service to see if the store is supposed to honor the labeled price and the told me to go back and speak to the manager. I went back to the store and went back to the rack and found another one of the item that I wanted to purchase on the same rack and also discounted. I took in up to the register and it also rang up at regular price. The manager was called up once again and said that one should have been removed also and she still could not honor the price on the tag.

Stein Mart return declined

I am absolutely livid that I was refused a return today at Stein Mart, I do not abuse nor do I commit fraud. I have shopped at Stein Mart for approx. 25 years starting in Columbus, Ohio. I purchase mainly from Stein Mart and when this happened today I went out to my car to look at some of the receipts I have in my wallet to verify something I thought I noticed in the store. Stein Mart does not treat an exchange of the exact merchandise because of the size as an exchange; they return the merchandise to your Stein Mart Credit Card and then make it a purchase again. I do this at times realizing after getting home that I really needed a smaller/larger size and your company is picking this up as two separate transactions not just an exchange. I have been a great customer and truly resent being told I could not return first time for 60 days second time for 180 days which means I do not get a credit on my card until these items are probably on sale and I end up getting the sale price. Do you really think this is the way to do business, please check out their way of doing exchanges. Ihave three items for return, one was actually an exchange due to size.

Stein Mart head manager

I know this lady's name cause I've had a lot of dealings with her in the past! She is not good with customers, Marcy! I've also heard her call out employess in front of customers! Then I've also heard her being rude to customers! This kind of Woman is not management material. I heard the only reason they keep her own is cause she knows someone in Charlott! This is not right! I also was told the CEO never sees these remarks! Someone needs to do something, she's running everyone off including the customers!
