This company is absolutely terrible!
This company is absolutely terrible! When I tried to complain, the lady who answered the phone told me that I'm not the customer, the city is. But hey, it's me who pays the bill, not the city! They even pick up commercial dumpsters in residential areas between 3 am and 7 am from Monday to Saturday. Their customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. I wasted over 30 minutes on hold, not once, but three times on three different numbers, and I never got through. They promised to call me back, but that call never came.

Stevens Disposal & Recycling Service, Inc. has been taking my garbage bag from the can, but leaving the rest of the garbage behind. This has been happening for a good two years now. I've called them multiple times to complain, but it seems like nothing ever gets done. They promised to send a truck back to pick up my garbage, but it never happened. They also said a supervisor would come out, but that never happened either. Sometimes, they even flip my garbage can upside down, leaving me to clean up the garbage they didn't take from my yard. It's frustrating because right now, I still have the same garbage in my can that they haven't picked up for the past two weeks.

I paid for a service but Stevens Disposal didn't provide it, they didn't pick up my garbage! This has happened twice now. First time I called and they said they'd pick up the garbage the next day -- that didn't happen. Happened again today. They should do the service they were paid for!

It's really frustrating because they're the only waste management company around here, and they don't seem to care about their customers at all. When I reached out to them about the issue, they basically told me that unless I have video evidence of their workers breaking my cans, they won't take any action. Seriously? Am I supposed to pay for CCTV installation just to prove that they're at fault? It's ridiculous.

However, I witnessed one of their drivers on camera taking a non-marked can out of my driveway. This can was filled with lawn statues. Instead of disposing of the entire contents, the driver decided to keep one of the statues for himself. It is important to note that this can was not anywhere near the marked disposal cans.
When I tried to address this issue with the manager, they refused to take my call and simply dismissed it as a mistake. This lack of accountability and refusal to rectify the situation is highly disappointing. As a customer, I expect a certain level of professionalism and adherence to the agreed-upon terms. I've been using Stevens Disposal for like 6 months now, and let me tell you, the past 2-3 months have been a real pain. I've had to bug them so many times just to get them to pick up my trash. Every time I call, they say they'll come later that day, but guess what? They never show up! It's like pulling teeth to get them to do their dang job. And to top it off, they haven't even offered to give me a credit on my account for not picking up my trash for over 2 months, even though I've called them a bunch of times.

I had a really frustrating experience with Stevens Disposal & Recycling Service, Inc. I wanted to switch from having my residential trash picked up to getting a 2YD dumpster. But here's the thing, I never received a contract from them. After a lot of back and forth, they finally sent me the contract, and guess what? It said I had to commit to a 3-year agreement. That was never mentioned in our conversation!
So, I decided not to go ahead with the dumpster. But guess what happened the next morning? They went ahead and delivered the dumpster anyway, even though I hadn't signed the contract. I immediately contacted the company and they sent a truck to pick up the dumpster. But get this, the dumpster had garbage in it! And to top it all off, they told me I wouldn't be refunded the delivery charge.
Overall, I'm really disappointed with the way Stevens Disposal & Recycling Service, Inc. handled this situation. They delivered a product without a signed contract, caused a lot of inconvenience, and refused to refund my money. I would definitely not recommend their services.

I was supposed to get a refund for 2 months, but it took more than 2 months to receive it. And guess what? They had the audacity to keep $5.00! I had already paid for their services from 7/01 to 9/30. In July, I let them know that I would be moving on August 1st and asked for my refund for the 2 months. They told me it would take 6 to 8 weeks to get it. At the end of September, I made several calls and they said it was still being processed. I called again on 10/08 and left a message for the manager to call me, but no one called. I called again on 10/09 and they told me the check was mailed on 10/02. I asked how much the check was for and they said it was $20.84. It should have been $25.84. They told me they keep $5.00 for processing. Can you believe it? What nerve! On their bill, they charge a $5.00 late fee. I should get my $5.00 back, plus the $5.00 late fee.

My trash ain't been picked up for 3 weeks straight, on 8/4, 8/11, and 8/18. I called 'em so many times in the past 3 weeks, but they still ain't picked up my trash. The office told me twice that the trash "weren't out early enough". I told 'em I put it out the night before. On 8/18, I called 'em again and they said there was a change in their way of doin' things. I told 'em I ain't received no phone call or letter 'bout no change in their service. Seems like they didn't tell me 'bout the change 'cause my account was on vacation hold when they made the change. They said a truck would come by to pick up my trash by the end of the day. But as of today, 8/19, my trash still ain't been picked up. I got 3 weeks' worth of trash sittin' at the end of my driveway.

This is the 2nd time my trash was not picked up in the last 30 days. Stevens took over my previous disposal company's routes, and pick-up was moved from Wednesday to Monday, and since that time, it has only been picked up 1 time on the correct pick up date. On 9/7, my garbage was not picked up, (on Tuesday for Labor Day). On 9/8, I called their office and they asked to not pick up until the following Monday, but would send someone out to pick it up if I wanted. I told them I did because there were strong winds and I live on a busy road, which makes the trash receptacles dangerous to drivers if blown in the road, and the trash was picked up the evening of 9/8. On 9/26, I put out my trash tote for pick up on 9/27. It was not picked up on 9/27. I called and left a message 9/28, see attached picture, and was told someone was coming to pick it up. No one picked it up. I call 9/30 and 1/1, was told both times someones was enroute to pick up. Still not picked up.

I switched to a new waste service because my former waste management company kept raising their fees. I had paid for services from June to August 2022. I started with the new company in late August, allowing for a week of overlap, as documented in the attached file. I left my old waste bin out to signal the change. Later, I received a bill for services I did not use, including a previous balance and upcoming service charges, totaling $137. After disputing these charges, they agreed to remove some but insisted I owed $71. I refused to pay for services not rendered and ended the call. Now, they threaten to send me to collections for $155, with additional fees, and falsely claim I owe $100 for a waste bin I own. I need assistance with these unjust charges.

The night before trash pick up, I put a whole toilet out at the curb. I wanted to give it to the scrappers who go around the neighborhood picking up stuff left at the curb. Even neighbors might take things from there. I didn't need the toilet, so I left it next to the trash tote. When I got home from work, I found what you see in the attached photos! I called and asked to talk to a supervisor, but there weren't any available. I explained that when they picked up my trash tote, they destroyed the toilet I left for the scrappers. They asked if I had a video of the incident. I said no. Then they asked how I knew they did it. I told them there was no other evidence to suggest otherwise. I asked if a supervisor could call me. The lady said she would leave them a message and maybe call me the next day. The next day came and went, so I called again and asked to speak to a supervisor. I explained why I was calling, and she checked if there were any notes. Then she told me the supervisor said there was no need for us to talk. They said that if I put something within 3 ft of the tote, it could get damaged! I asked how was I supposed to know that? The only instructions I had were to put it right next to the curb. But they offered to pick up the debris for $30, to be paid in advance! I said that was not acceptable. Once again, I asked to talk to a supervisor. They denied my request again. I said that was not acceptable. Why should I pay for them to remove something they damaged? I said this whole situation could have been avoided if they had just sent me an email explaining why they couldn't pick it up. That would have been better than what I've been dealing with. I asked the lady if that made more sense. There would be no need for a call.
