Tonight the 6th of January 2014, my husband and I attended our local subway store for dinner. We placed our orders and I asked for a wrap. I actually meant a flatbread, but I stuck with my error as it was my fault. Now I often enjoy wraps but tonight when I got home, I opened up my wrap to eat and was disgusted with what I had been given for the price of $9.75. On This wrap was exactly 3 pieces of cucumber, 2 pieces of cheese, 4 bits of capsicum, half a dozen bits of grated carrot, the meat of my choice which was steak and sauce...I do not mind paying for my food but this is stupid paying that for practically NOTHING! I live 10kms from town and was hungry so I ate it and there was no flavor as there wasn't enough of anything to taste. There was more wrap than filling. If this is what is going to be given to the customer then only charge $5.00 or something as they are NOT worth $9.75. Not only that why is everyone charged the same amount even if they do not have half the fillings from Subway? People say it isn't expensive to be healthy...well in this case it is. Everytime I think about having tomato on a subway, I change my mind when I see that it looks as is it has been frozen and sitting there for a week. Sorry but this is NOT good enough for your consumers! Thank you

Let me start off by saying that this was the absolute worst job ever. One day I came into work on time as scheduled. Usually I come early, however one of my coworkers said I couldn't clock in until exactly the time I was scheduled. So when I am early i'd have to wait (so ridiculous)!?! So I can into work exactly on time, as usual, however my coworkers were busy and did not open the door right away. When one of my "higher up" coworkers opened the for he said I was late. Although in my defense, I had been standing their for 3 minutes. He concluded I was late because it was 5 minutes after 5. He then told me to go
Home immediately and that it wasn't ok to be late. I must admit that my subway coworkers were all rude, impolite, and most of all very disrespectful to me. I had gotten ready and drove 15 min to work just to be sent home. Subway has the worst system of hiring because honestly as a student in school, all of my coworkers were high school drop outs and losers. They loathed you when you had a future and only want to bring you down! So take it from me, never get a job at subway. Although I was a "sandwich artist" I only received a few hours a week and that was mostly janitorial work like cleaning floors, or the hundreds of dishes in the kitchen. Or my favorite: picking up heavy boxes of bread or taking out the trash although there are male coworkers who are much more stronger and more muscular for that. Working at subway sucks! With a pay check of $7.80 per hour (not including taxes and what not). My experience at subway was very lousy thanks to the incompalcent manager and awfully rude coworkers. Plus, you don't even get free sandwiches! There are no perks whatsoever when working at subway! And when you get home, you smell of malodorous onions and veggies.

operator of the
premises by means of enforcement notice reference
ENF/13/00096
dated 10th
April,
2013, thus; ”a noise assessment should be
undertaken and
submitted in support of the application”.
In order to support the new application for the plant installation, and to mitigate
alleged
complaints of noise nuisance, Paragon Acoustic Consultants Ltd has been
commissioned to
conduct an environmental noise survey. The results of this are to
be used as the
basis of a detailed acoustical assessment of plant noise emissions
and
accompanying technical report, to provide evidence to show how plant noise
and vibration
emissions will be suitably controlled to the satisfaction of the
Planning
Authority and Environmental Services, Noise Pollution Team.
Reference is
given herein to the agreed strategy for the measurement and
assessment of
plant noise agreed with Mr Alkesh Solanki, representing London
Borough of Tower
Hamlets’ Pollution Team. This is set out in Revision A of the
“Proposed
method statement for the assessment of noise & vibration emissions
From 2no
C950 Chillier Units”, dated 8th May 2013. (They
did not include the Mitsubishi Mr slim unit )

Chillers on to the Walls and on very large, Mitsubishi Mr slim unit
that is screwed to the base of my apartment, and every time Tower Hamlets the
local council turn up to investigate the noise coming from these units, they seem to been turned off.

sent to Tower Hamlets, Richard Cain, enforcement officer.
“When you and Mr Alkesh Solank was on site you only tested
components off the unit, you Did not turn the Compressor on, I recall the Subways duty manager telling you “ I never switches it on” J and
you or Mr Solank said “are you calling him a lie now !
“
It just seems too covenant that each time I call
Council, the unit gets switched off 10 mains before they arrive..
This has now being going on for a whole year,
we can only sleep in our bedrooms for 3 hours a night before we have to move to
our front room
The enforcement officer
for
Tower Hamlets, Richard Cain, ,
said that the Subways Head office here in
the UK will not Answer his email or Letters.
Subways did get there
planning permission, (Application number PA/13/01474) for their
2 chillers after 9 months, by supplying
an Environmental
Noise Assessment to Tower Hamlets
and on the bases that Subways would carry out the recommendation from the
report supplied by Paragon Acoustic Consultants in Reading UK There Reference: ENS_2995_PD.
5 month later and 11
emails from me to the council, Subways did install one Large Brown Metal box
over the 2 chillers. This one unit increased the noise Level from the 2
chillers.

I recently worked for Subway in Oklahoma. The food there is really good, but the employee's are lazy. The store has a big cricket problem. There will be dead cricket's all over the floor and the employee's are too lazy to sweep it up. I have always ordered a cold cut or assorted sub as my most favourite. Some months ago I was sooooo disgusted upon biting into a cold cut sub to discover your company has replaced one if the delicious meats with bologna? I cannot even describe to you how disgusted I was. I couldn't even eat it! For a company that prides itself on health and the freshness and taste of your subs, I could not believe you made such a move. Absolutely disgusting and because if this change I will go out of my way to not order from subway again. I also received a sub 2 days ago (not by my request) from subway and this was a turkey & ham sub at least, which I also found myself disappointed in because there was like no meat on it! I was told the sub was roughly 4.50$ and there was literally 1 piece of ham & 1 piece of turkey?
I don't know what's happening but I will not be visiting a subway again I can tell you that much. Subways is suppose to be known for quality and you expect a certain amount of meat on your sub. These changes are in my opinion a bad reflection on your brand and if this continues you will lose profits these changes are clearly suppose to be giving you.

Wow! That's my reaction. You're complaining about your $4.50 sandwich, which you purchased from a franchise of one of the largest multinational fastfood cesspools. You are 'disappointed' because one of the meat-like substances on your sandwich wasn't as 'delicious' as the meat-like byproduct which you had become accustomed to ... and you spell and compose sentences nearly as well as a bright fourth-grader. Horrible service. The woman store manager told me to order and eat or leave the store.. Extremely rude. Feb 2nd 2013 7pm. I was there to speak to the other person working and she tells me I am not going to speak to her. We were looking forward to a subway sandwich and when we went to choose ingredients, a worker took a dirty rag and swiped it along the food in order to clean an empty well where some of the other food was. It made me so sick I had to run out of the place. I cannot go into another subway restaurant. Now a friend gave me a gift card for subway and I cannot tell her I get sick just thinking about it. I was fired from Subway last night for not covering someone's shift after I told my boss that I am four hours away in Jackpot, NV with my girlfriend.On my schedule, it said I have Tuesday and Wednesday off so my girlfriend and I decided to drive to Jackpot, NV for a couple days.
Tuesday was fine and then Wednesday afternoon rolls around and we are in the casino when my boss calls me.My boss is a friend of mine too and I had told him Monday that my GF and I are going to NV and he told me to have fun.Anyways, he asked me if I can come into work and I told him "I'm sorry sir but I'm in Jackpot, remember?" He said he knows that but that one of my co-workers decided not show up and needs me there as soon as I can get there.I told him it will take me four hours to get there (without traffic) and that by the time I get there the store will be closed anyway.
He got mad at me and said "You know I am your friend but I am your boss too.I really need you right now." I kept apologizing that I couldn't come in but that he knew we had plans for my days off.Anyways, he said "Well tomorrow when you get back you can come pick up your last paycheck and find another job." I said ok and hung up the phone.
Sorry I wanted to enjoy my days off with my girlfriend.It sucks our friendship has ended along with my job but i'm sure I'll find something better!I don't even know if I should call corporate and report him.

jlads..., the other actions and instances you describe don't really have relevance to what happened. If indeed the OP did those things, then the manager needed to address those things when they happened. If need be the manager should have fired the OP for those things. But, getting mad at him for not coming in to work, when the manager knew he was 4 hours away and had the day off, is clearly poor management. Firing him for that particular incident is wrong. If the manager fired him because of all those other instances, then again, poor management for not taking control sooner.
As for the OP, sounds like you had a part-time job. If that's what it was, then move on. In most states employees work at the owners pleasure, meaning, barring harassment or discrimination, an employee can be fired for no needed reason. If the manager doesn't like you, or doesn't like your actions, or attitude, or whatever, barring harassment or discrimination, he/she can fire any employee as it suits the manager. You can contact corporate, and if there are other complaints lodged against that manager, then corporate may look into it if they so chose. But, it's no guarantee, especially if there aren't any other complaints against him.
Move on. It's great to have a job, but it's not like you're losing a career position due to your age or sex, which could indicate discrimination, and corporate would then have to respond.
Actually we worked together the OP and I and the real reason is that he kept calling in sick and he expected special treatment over other employees because he was friends with the boss. He was given more chances than others but he took advantage, was allowed extra long breaks, more breaks(he gave them to himself) and expected the boss to say nothing because they were friends.

Earlier this week my elderly brother (73 yrs old) and myself (70 yrs old) went to the Subway here in King, NC. My direct order was a 12 inch Philly Cheese with jalapenos, a 12 inch Italian with extra pravalone cheese and oil and vinegar. The server asked what else and I said 2 medium teas. He then asked what else on the Italian and I told him nothing. I have no bottom teeth, so I can not eat lettuce, tomato, onion, etc. When they brought the food to the take out window, I did not check the sandwiches as I expected them to be right. When we got back home, my brothers sub was ok, but when I opened mine, all I had was cheese on it. No meats whatsoever. A couple of hours later I had some errands to run so I went back to the Subway and spoke with the manager. I asked why they charged me $17. and some change for the subs like that. She informed me that that was what I ordered and it was considered a veggie sub. I do not understand how this could be a veggie sub when I ordered an Italian. She was rude to me and so I left. We are on social security and have always considered it a once a month treat to go to Subway. I guess that is out now. Just want to know What has happened to customer service?

Wow people. Judging from some of the comments it's clear what the employee job pool is and why customer service is so lacking these days. READ what the OP wrote. It was DRIVE through. Kinda hard to see sandwiches being made from inside your car, don't 'cha think? So, you subway experiences are clearly not all the likely experiences others may have. And, your comment got 2 votes, showing yet more of the potential employee pool who simply don't have simple reading comprehension, and would likely put only cheese on an "Italian" sub with NO veggies.
Oh, and great for the poster who's dentures allow him to eat all those wonderful things. But, how is that relevant to the OP's complaint?
Regardless of the OP's good or bad dentures, the customer told the subway employee what he/she wanted.
Why defend this obvious lack of customer service? The Subway employee got it WRONG. And then the manager tells the customer what he wanted and ordered. How in the world of good management would a "manager" offer that idiotic explanation.
The customer comes back to complain that his/her order was wrong, and the manager tells the customer that what he ordered was a "veggie", when clearly they did not. The words "Italian" and "veggie" sound nothing alike. It's likely that the employee thought that's what the customer ordered, but the customer came back to explain that that was NOT the order requested. Proper customer service should have been to apologize for the mistake or misunderstanding and offer a refund or a new sandwich to the customers liking.
THAT would have been customer service.
These days it seems employees and managers are more about being right and proving their interpretation, then to actual serve the customer. It's a freaking restaurant. You don't tell the customer what they want. The customer tells you and you need to be clear and ask questions, and not guess or tell the customer what they want. At all of the Subways I've ever gone to, you watch them make the sandwich. I can always stop them I if I see them putting something I don't like on it. It's kind of hard to mess it up if you are watching it being made.

i am deeply disgusted at the news that subway has took certain foods off their men ufor certain religions, if you cant eat ham then don't order it its that simple its ridiculous and will lose a hell of a lot of customers now because i certainly wont be going back !
