I have a motorcycle financed through Yamaha Installment financing. The loan is serviced by Synchrony Bank. I am current on loan payments but I have serious reservations about Synchrony Yamaha ability to ethically provide service. I have other loans serviced by Synchrony "Lowes" and have not had any difficulties, so it leads me to believe that the issues I...

I have CareCredit and Chevron credit cards. Both are through Synchrony Bank. I have lived in my home 27 years and own it outright. My credit files with the three bureaus go back to 1980 and are many pages of perfection. My credit score with the three bureaus ranges from 820 to 830. I use the credit cards and have always paid promptly. I sold some stock and needed a place to put the cash so opened a savings account with Synchrony for $260, 000.000. Their interest was higher than others. One year later I applied for there CARcredit card. It has 6mos no interest for all things automotive.Synchrony said No! We exchanged 5 letters and all they would say was that there was something they could not verify. They refused to say what. I bought a small toothpaste style tube of vaseline and mailed it, along with my credit cards, to Synchrony. I also withdrew my deposit. I received a phone call but the person did not speak English and it was impossible to communicate. I phoned there general number but they knew nothing except the letter in my file rejecting my application.
my chevron & texaco credit card account
I have had a Chevron and Texaco Credit Card Account since 1974 and it has always been my primary card to use all the time and we keep our account paid off most all the time. We had two accounts, one was my Wife's and I had another account that I used separately for business reasons, both our accounts had a $2500.00 credit limit. We both retired and have been doing a lot of traveling in our motorhome and while we were on a 2 month road trip our bank account was hacked and many of our accounts that were on auto-pay were not being made but we did not know about it and when we got back it was a mess and still is, we were wiped out but our monthly income is still in tact and we have changed banks to try and get back to normal. So what does Synchrony Bank do? They sent a letter to my wife and said based on payments and account history they had closed my wife's account. I stopped to get gas which was $30.00 and used my Chevron Card at a Chevron Station and later when I got home I logged on to pay my account and to my shock I saw they had lowered my credit limit from $2500.00 down to a ridiculous $100.00 which means I can't even fill up my motorhome using my Chevron Card! Is this the way that Chevron wants banks to treat its Customers? Especially one that has been a loyal customer for over 48 years? Please advise because this upsets me and let me say, I will never do business ever again with Synchrony Bank or anything that it is related to because they are worthless in my book and I plan to make it my mission to tell everyone I know or can contact to also not use Synchrony Bank for anything!
Very Sincerely,
John Thomas
Yes it's unbeluevable how they run their so called customer service.
Complaint about my care credit card
Before I received a letter today 1-2-2017, I had my care credit card (Dental card) with another bank and had no problems with them. When synchrony bank acquired my care credit card, synchrony bank closed my account. I did not have a balance, nor did I have a need to use it right now but synchrony bank closed my account for no reason. This bank is prejudice against poor people or middle class people who have a rough patch (Financially) in their life. This bank wants to crucify people before really giving people a chance. This bank reduced my jcp enny limit for no reason. I only use jcpenny when school begins to buy my son clothing and school supplies for school and then the company reduced my belk card limit, I was one payment behind. I thought I had made a payment and what I done was set the payment up in the online system but them did not hit submit. It was my mistake but I immediately paid the account when the representative contact me. I made a simple error. Do no get any account through synchrony bank. Close your account if you can. They do not need your funding if they cannot assist their customers and understand any issues that may affect daily living. J jones.
Fraudulent claim filed 3 months ago. After proving that I filed the complaint and I received a new card, I was informed that the fraudulent charges and late fees ("while under investigation, you are not responsible for the fraudulent charges"). However, I started receiving several emails that my account was delinquent.
The customer service department was clueless and the manager found the original claim from a few months ago and could not understand why nothing was done. She understands that the fraudulent claim was not followed up and wants to promise (only her word) that it will be taken care of now. Now I have to wait another 30 days to receive a letter and the investigation will take up to another 60 days, in the meantime I was instructed by the manager to ignore the emails stating my account was delinquent. After the investigation, the charges will be removed and they will notify the credit bureaus.
I have been a customer of Chevron for over 20 years. Annual salary over 70K and my account is now delinquent because of $260.00 of fraudulent charges that they failed to follow up on.
Is this a joke, if I plan to purchase a car, I will need to explain why I have a delinquent account with Synchrony Financial (Chevron) showing up on my credit report.
By the way, there is no way to reach corporate. Ridiculousness
They have a revolving customer service line which always reverts back to the unlocking automated policy and if you do get to speak to an actually person they are rude and don't let you get to explain your situation. They just read from a piece of paper like a robot and they don't have any names or employee id numbers that you can request and when you try to explain something to them they say i am going to have to end this call if you won't listen to what i am saying. their customer service is the worst i have ever experienced and none of the speak ENGLISH!
credit card reducing balances
I am writing this email because synchrony bank is not a reputable bank. Customer service representatives are rude to customers. The credit department is reviewing all accounts they "the bank" owns and reducing credit limits even after black customers are paying on time and paying more than the minimum. Beware customers. Check and see who owns your credit cards. If it is synchrony bank, please DO NOT OPEN ANY ACCOUNTS WITH SYNCHRONY BANK AND IF YOUR CREDIT CARD ACCOUNT IS TRANSFERRED TO SYNCHRONY BANK, PAY THEM OFF IF YOU CAN. They are racist and prejudice against black people. Hispanics beware. From the research I have conducted, the bank has not lowered any caucasian credit accounts. Again, is you can avoid haveing any contact with synchrony bank, do so. The board and credit department are discrimination against blacks. The bank is trying to damage your credit score. I have contact the credit bureaus, and this bank is the only bank targeting blacks.
They had said they have not receive my payment and customer is very poor.
It started in November of 2015, I should had contact you'll long before now. But anyways they said it was sending my payment to my bank and my bank said have not receive anything from synchrony bank. I call them and the customer service was poor unconcern about my problem but they can seen paper her to my home but can't resolve the problem. I had been going to the store and they receive it on the same bank card and now when I enroll in the automated payment all the problem started, so I just want to know what are you all going to conic. I'm writing to you'll that I'm sadly that I had a problem with a bill collector and all my bills come out of my bank account and never experience anything like this.
Concern: customer
they closed my account without my agreement
One year ago I have opened the account in SynchronyBank. I have a credit on this account and I have paid this sum on time. It was only 2 or 3 times, when I missed the payments, but I returned the whole sum back all the time. However, the bank closed my account and didn’t inform me about it. When I contacted them and asked why they have done it, the rep told me that they weren’t satisfied with late payments. They also provide reports about you and they couldn’t do it without my agreement.
Unethical Behavior
I and a co-signer have a installment agreement for a boat purchased 12 months ago. We maintained a timely payment schedule. In June 2015, the co-signer was admitted to a hospital then assisted living with his income going towards healthcare. Trying to do the "right" thing, in July, I called Synchrony for a 3-month extension, filled out the paperwork and faxed it promptly back to them. Mid-July, I was notified they needed a Power of Attorney which I promptly faxed to them. In August, we got a call about being late. I called and found out they did not received the fax. We paid the monthly payment, refaxed to another number. In September, we got a call about being late. I called and found out they (still) did not received the fax. We paid the monthly payment, refaxed to yet another number. I called several days later and they had not received that fax either. I faxed to 3 more numbers over a span of 6 days. They finally received it, but could not grant the extension due to 3 months of late payments! 5 fax numbers, 3 months, and no extension. My next stop is to my attorney.
All my backup is in PDF format which I can't upload. Please advise.
My experience is like many, Synchrony Bank closed my Flanigans furniture card, after paying exactly on time for 8000 paying extra on it on many occasions, they cancel you on a whim, if they think you have too many revolving accounts on your credit report it is closed, They did it on a auto repair card, I paid exactly on time, do not use this or sign up for this credit card, they will close your account in a heartbeat even if you have a zero balance, made five phone calls I think to India, couldn't understand half of what he said, got the manager after five calls, on hold for 90 minutes adding up my time wasted, I tried to explain I was behind once because my son died suddenly, and then I came close to death and was in the hospital for two weeks like my son, trying to catch up, but they don't care, do not sign with this company, really a scam, pray someone does a class action suit on this company. They sent a letter to my son who is dead, even though the card was in my name. will check with the fair credit act, to see if this makes sense or is legal, Shame on this company if you use them you will soon regret it
Fraudulent account/credit charges
My 81-year-old mother was harassed into giving personal information to open a credit line at Ramon's Jewelers while walking in the Westfield Mall in Culver City. They persisted and she gave in. Now she has a $3500 bill with a threat of it growing to $11, 400 if the charge is not paid to Synchrony Bank.
