We shopped for groceries and picked up cheeseballs as part of our groceries. Our general understanding, or for that matter anyone's understanding would be that a store like Target will not keep expired items on their aisles, but unfortunately this incident happened to us on 8th October. We did not expect an expired product to be present and picked up a cheeseball container with the impression that they will stack up only fresh/unexpired stock. But only after billing and when we were about to leave the store did we realize that we observe the product was expired. I am attaching a ss confirming this.
We did reach out to staff but they asked us to pick a new unexpired one by ourselves, which took us a bit off as we expected they would help/assisted us in getting the replacement of expired item. But yet we did walk back to the aisle only to find more expired items. We did pick one unexpired cheeseball container though.
But this gives us a negative impression on Target now. We have been shopping there frequently and never check for expire dates on each and every food item we pick. We might now consider visiting to Target and want to caution our friends/relatives to lookout for this.
