I read the latest complaints about TD Bank, and while is true the horrors about their "new upgrade system" Have you notice that their policies have changed as well? I found last week that a bank check is no longer free, in fact it was cheaper to go to my local convenient store and purchase a money order. Worse, this week I found out that they are holding my direct deposit for several days. My check use to be release to the bank on Friday and made available by the bank on Saturday, after finding that the money was not there Saturday I learned that under their new policy the money will no be released until Tuesday. Since the bank does business on Saturday and Sunday, (that is the "convenience") that makes it a total of 4 DAYS! That is worse then any other bank, and there is nothing convenient about it. I suggest you look into this and consider changes banks. I know I will!

Don't worry they will process any transactions you do and then charge you $35.00 per transaction for overdraft. My credit card doesn't even charge that much

Bank Checks, and Money Orders have not been free for several years, way before the bank changed to TD. The only account that they offer free money orders or bank checks is the 50 plus checking account, offered to customers over the age of 50. And yes, go to your grocery store and purchase a money order for .69 cents, you're not forced to buy them at the bank. Policies have not changed in the availability of your check. The bank is open over the weekend, you're correct. But the federal banking days are Monday through Friday. So in order for TD bank to be open over the weekend, Friday nights after 6pm their banking system switches to Mondays banking date. Friday before 6pm your check will be available the next day, Saturday because it allows time for the check to be verified by the back office verification. Friday after 6pm the bank is actually working on Mondays date, and with next day availability that makes it TUESDAY! Believe it or not, you will not find a bank with the hours and availability as TD bank does, I'm almost certain. Thats not a new policy at all, it's just overlooked and commonly misunderstood. Every check, drawn off of another bank needs to be verified that the money is in their account, if not how is anyone going to get there money? Read the policy again, because everything has been this way for a long time. Get to the bank before 6pm Friday to avoid waiting until Tuesday.

And you are also correct, they will process any transaction you do, because in case you forgot to have enough money for a check, they will pay it. As a favor to you, so you don't have your mortgage returned, and simply charge you $35.00 for it. Sorry for trying to cover your butt. Balance your account and check book properly and you could avoid this. And spending the money you don't have.

Can I share my TD tale of woe?
I hold a 50plus ckecking account, I thought it was one of the greatest banking games out there...
UNTILL I NEEDED A FRONT & BACK COPY OF THE PROCESSED CHECK ITSELF!
Long on [censored] short on true customer service...I'm OUT!
TD is where I used to bank!
