I'm so happy to be a member of The National Society of Leadership and Success!
I'm so happy to be a member of The National Society of Leadership and Success! I've had a pleasure to listen to speaker broadcasts with renowned leaders, influential entrepreneurs, and successful professionals just to name a few. Being able to interact with other members in The National Society of Leadership and Success and hearing their goals let's me know there are leaders all around the nation, who truly wants to make a difference in the world. Being a member of a prestigious honors society has been uplifting and rewarding as I continue my personal journey on becoming a great leader. #theNSLS.
I just looked it up on the IRS webpage “Tax Exempt Organization Search" https://apps
I just looked it up on the IRS webpage “Tax Exempt Organization Search" https://apps.irs.gov/app/eos/ and this organization is NOT a 401c3 (non-profit) organization, meaning it's a for-profit organization, and therefore a scam. E.g., this is in contrast to Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest honor and most prestigious honor society in the US, which is a non-profit organization (and listed as such by the IRS). NSLS is also is not accredited by the Association of College Honor Societies (which IS a non-profit organization).
The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) membership prepares your mindset for success. Being an inducted member has opened a wide range of opportunities for me to be successful. NSLS training provides the ultimate guide to changing your impossibility belief that you cannot achieve your goals. NSLS builds your leadership skills to have self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-efficacy. You can therefore actualize the potential you never thought you could ever achieve.Yetunde Oshinkale Doctoral Candidate in educational psychology with focus on Child and adolescents development.
This is an organization that has been needed for a long time. Yes there are requirements to join even after being invited. These all serve the purpose of starting your training to be a great leader, and to ensure you are serious about your membership. The fee is reasonable and the opportunity for further training is *** get out what you put into your training. If you put nothing in, you have no right to expect more.
The *** was a great introduction to leadership and teamwork. I and other members learned a lot about ourselves and our direction, and it was really nice to meet other people of like minds, with different goals. I would definitely recommend getting inducted if you have the opportunity.
There are a lot of improvements that can be made
There are a lot of improvements that can be made. I got a certificate. But would have had to pay extra for the frame, the graduation accessories, etc... this I didn't mind because they offered scholarships and a job boards. The job board, however, almost never has jobs in my field and the scholarships are ones I don't qualify for. For the money I paid, I'm not impressed with the resources that have been made available. I will say, saving money on my car insurance is nice. And there are some partner deals that are awesome.
NSLS is an excellent program! The board members are always willing to accommodate my work and school demands to complete the steps towards induction. The broadcasts are inspiring, and I would highly recommend taking full advantage of this opportunity for future nominees.
An amazing experience, I have learned a lot, grown tremendously and had so much support.
I am pleased to be a member of #NSLS The members are welcoming and v helpful. They are true to their words I was confident before I became a member yet, the vibe and the commitment of the members really help us to soar. I have set goals and completed them the doors are opening for a better tomorrow. Thank you NSLS.#theNSLS
Enjoy the process of getting to know the members as a leader

I'm so elated and excited to be a part of this organization, I have received a few nominations in the mail, I attend *** in which I was very hesitant about accepting my nomination, but I am so thankful that I did I have learned so much these last couple of days, and I'm so very excited and proud to be part of a wonderful and uplifting organization! THANK YOU NSLS!
Nice Experience I have been very pleased to be part of NSLS and very thankful in applying.
This is an opportunity of a lifetime! Everyone has been very helpful and the motivation is unbelievable...
I am so grateful and honored to be part of such organizations, The *** was a great and new experience, and is a great way to leverage your social and leadership skills, the organizations provide many benefits and I used one of them to purchase my new laptop with a discounted rate. Overall I am very satisfied with the whole process and I do recommend it to anyone looking for certifications and other benefits.
I joined NSLS in the year 2017
I joined NSLS in the year 2017. I have had great experience. I had an opportunity to discover myself and what I can really do. Thanks to the program LTD and SNT those two really helped me see my potential. I not only because a leader in our chapter but also became a leader of a larger youth group outside school. My leadership skills are getting better. I take advantage of every thing the nsls post ie motivational Mondays, speaker broadcast, chances to win scholarship and many other. I would write a whole book about the Nsls?. Overall have had great time with the Nsls. Everyday day is a learning opportunity for me and implementing what have I have learnt into action. Thank you @theNsls.
My son has been nominated for this group every year since he started college
My son has been nominated for this group every year since he started college. While he has a high GPA, the membership requirement is ludicrously low for an Honor Society. The fact that they KEEP nominating him despite his continued ignoring of their mailings is a red flag. The low minimum GPA requirement is a red flag. The for-profit status of the group is a red flag. The $95 entrance fee is a red flag. The large number of reviews describing it as a pyramid scheme is a red flag. They qualify for Eddie Izzard's definition of a country, with that many red flags - but that's it. My son and I would REALLY love it if they'd stop soliciting him. Seems to me a genuine Honor Society wouldn't continue to solicit membership from people who repeatedly ignore them. Nothing about this is impressive, other than the fact they've managed to convince over a million college students to pay them $95 to join. Sorry, no. Just no.
I really hate the whole star rating to post a review because I dont want to give them any stars
I really hate the whole star rating to post a review because I dont want to give them any stars. I had been sent invitations from this honor society for well over two semesters before I finally paid the membership fee. Since then there has never been an orientation date added to the calendar for me to attend. Thats just one of the many things that is required for induction into an official membership. But there is also not record of my payment to the company even though I have login information that opens up their portal. I just feel that I was taken advantage of and its a shame. Im a disabled mother of 4 on a very limited income. I went back and forth for months before making this purchase because I was uneasy about it. Against my better judgement I saved to pay the fee and totally regret it. I would love a full refund but I dont believe Ill get one. Anyway, please stay far away from this company. There are a few others doing the same thing so just be careful and do your research before you give any company your money. Lesson learned!
The ComplaintsBoard.com logged 13 complaints for this company
The ComplaintsBoard.com logged 13 complaints for this company. Just because they have an A+ rating with the ComplaintsBoard.com does not mean one should sign up. The ComplaintsBoard.com admits Customer Reviews are not used in the calculation of ComplaintsBoard.com Rating. My daughter continually receives solicitations from NCLS, always printed on expensive cardstock. If this organization were truly about leadership and the good of the student, they would a save on solicitation costs by emailing invitations and using the extra money to boost the meager scholarship funds. Another consideration is that they claim 92% of members say they were positively impacted. Misery loves company. Once you realize you've wasted your $95, you look for reasons to justify the expense so you won't feel bad about yourself. The company is counting on people to think "all these other people joined so it must be okay, right?" Once one has spent the money, it's kind of like trying to make the best of a bad situation now that it's too late to change one's decision. This company has money coming out of its ears. They even have enough money to hire someone to search out and answer every single negative review they find. Wouldnt it be great if they spent it on the honorees instead? Caveat emptor.
Joining The National Society of Leadership and Success wasn't worth the $95, at least in current times
Joining The National Society of Leadership and Success wasn't worth the $95, at least in current times. Since we're in a pandemic, all of the meetings were online and some of them were extremely short. Three of the meetings only focused on making goals and some of my chapter's officers who host them don't even attend my college. There were also broadcasts of famous speakers but I think they do these to make the society look more official. They offer scholarships as well but they have very few making it extremely difficult to get one. In addition, you can get additional leadership training and certificates once you're inducted but be willing to pay an extra $125 for each one. The only pros were once you attend all of the required meetings they send you a t-shirt with your leadership certificate which is pretty cool. You also get to attend an induction ceremony, though the one I'll be attending will be virtual. Hopefully by the time I transfer colleges and a new chapter everything will be done in person.I'd recommend [insert alternative society name] instead as every college I applied to is willing to give me a $2,000+ scholarship just by being a member. The alternative society is more official and is actually displayed on my transcript while The National Society of Leadership and Success isn't. Unless you want to waste $95 on a shirt and piece of paper I wouldn't advise joining The National Society of Leadership and Success."
I am an inducted member since 2019 and found the activities towards induction to be very helpful especially the SNT
I am an inducted member since 2019 and found the activities towards induction to be very helpful especially the SNT. The summit I attended in November is something that one can look forward to attending towards the end of the year! I got to meet new people from different states, interact with them, learn new things, develop new leadership skills, so many things to do and learn... the weekend was not long enough to get it all! I also looked forward to the weekly motivational talks that used to be on Mondays... now I am not sure when it is live because when I receive the emails they do not state this information anymore, however, I can listen to the recorded presentations later. NSLS was also present at my residency earlier this year in Atlanta collecting books for children in needs... I thought this was awesome as we dropped in, had treats and greeted each other. I have not yet used the perks... but will at some time. The additional leadership training after induction may be too costly as not all students are working. I've wanted to complete those other phases but the affordability at this time excludes me. That said, I would encourage anyone who has received an invitation to become part of this organization to accept. There may even be leadership roles you can volunteer for and this will certainly help strengthen those leadership skills you possess. NSLS is a great organization and I am looking forward to future summits (in person or virtual). I have no regrets for accepting the invitation to be a member!

I believe that this is a fake organization
I believe that this is a fake organization. I paid the membership price and then whenever I tried to do my orientation which is required, they never started it. I emailed the Professor that is to be in charge at my chapter never replied with any information. Either the whole program is fake, or my chapter is very unprepared.
I received a misleading invite (I bought into because it came from University of [University Name] my Alma Mater), regarding an Honor Society
I received a misleading invite (I bought into because it came from University of [University Name] my Alma Mater), regarding an Honor Society and how I have been nominated. After reviewing the reviews and researching and calling the number where the woman laughed and called me sir the entire time, I would like my money back ASAP. This is a scam and I do not believe this to be a legitimate organization. Stay away, avoid. I want my $134 (ordered a wood engraved item) refunded now. Throw the fancy envelope away if you get it in the mail.
I have asked for a refund more then once with no reply
I have asked for a refund more then once with no reply. I kept filling out the SNT but they keep getting rejected. I called headquarters and they told me exactly what to do and still rejected. The last email I received was from April 9th. I have tired many times to work with them so I could get this done nothing. They keep saying I have a meetings but no there is not because of covid. I did one speaker broadcast and they say I need another one but yet I am blocked because it says none available for me to get credit from. I have tired many times to get my intro package and they keep blocking that.

i was selected for a NSLS scholarship in May, and have yet to receive the check, even after being told it would arrive by the end of June.. i'm only filing a complaint because after numerous inquires, i've gotten no clear response from customer support if they even reply, and am beginning to feel like this may be a fraudulent company that has a lot of my personal information.. the check is for $1,000 and for those who need financial assistance, not to mention i wrote numerous essays hoping to attain one, so this is frustrating to constantly be waiting on something necessary, for so long..
I received an invitation to join this Honor Society program based on high GPA average throughout my college career
I received an invitation to join this Honor Society program based on high GPA average throughout my college career. I was excited and sought out more information. In order to accept this invitation I had to pay $95 plus pay extra for all these additional fees associated with receiving the certificate and framing. They won't even release your certificate WHICH I PAID FOR until I have completed hours of training and videos. Only to have now found out this society invitation is sent out to anyone and is not merit based. I tried to reach out to get a refund with no success. This is a total rip off and not what they advertise. You are forced to purchase, and then you are provided with all the additional stipulations in order to actually become a "dignified member". Hard to feel "dignified" when practically the entire nation gets an invitation. Due to their clear scheme and false advertising I am demanding a full refund respectfully. As stated above, I attempted to resolve this with the organization with no avail. Please help get my refund issued as soon as possible. Thank you. Molly [Last Name]

Being a part of NSLS is an honor and has helped me in many ways. I have been challenged in many ways to get involved in community services and get out of my shell and contribute to my community. I am proud to be one of these leaders.
I have had a very positive, professional experience in regards to this group. I love that I was offered to be a part of this community and it has changed me in so many ways. I feel I have grown being a part of this community and able to help others in ways that I never thought possible. ?FeeFee
