Dishonest and unethical
Recently I went back to the Scissorhands at Holland drive to use up my remaining package of approx $150-200. I cannot really remember exactly how much is remaining as it has been a few years. So I went in and spoke to the manager, Ben, a stocky well dressed chap reeking of cigarette smoke. After checking, he tells me my remaining package value is only $77. And I am not allowed to use it to buy products or to cut hair. I can only use it for hair treatment. Fine, I say, what hair treatment do u have? He recommends me their signature "Nano" treatment which is very effective and costs $440. It will make your hair soft, bouncy and light as air. Oh my, I say, that is very costly. To that Ben says, it is very expensive yes, but will be cheaper if I sign a package. To which I replied, no more packages for me as I may not use them up so quickly. I would just like to finish using up my current package. He consults with his senior manager and furiously taps on his calculator, and shows it to me : $119. I just need to pay $119 for the Nano hair treatment package. Original price of $440. Wow, what an incredible bargain, right? How long will this Nano effect last me, I ask. Ben replies, approx 3 weeks. Excuse me? 3 weeks? Do u mean to say, that there are people out there who will visit a hair salon, in a HDB Shophouse, do a $400 hair treatment, only to have it last 3 weeks? If it is a posh hair spa, with Banyan Tree-esque facilities, where the equipment n staff are top notch, and the experience extremely relaxing and enjoyable, I can see why some people would pay. But in a HDB Shophouse with not so comfy chairs, dishonest looking staff and spartan interiors? Me thinks everyone should boycott this establishment! Needless to say I decided the forgo my package with them. This is the price I pay for being so gullible! Buyers beware!

Salon is horrible
Regret for not checking reviews before purchasing from groupon for this salon (The Scissorhands). I just went tody in Holland drive for my hair dye & spa treatment-- Had the worst experience as everyone of you. I arrive on my appointed schedule, yet they let me wait for 30min and seeing not much customer to begin with! They gave me tea with a cup that i saw unwashed lipstick on it! When a hairstylist finally came to my service, she couldnt speak proper english, good thing i can speak basic mandarin, hello am i in sg or china?
Now the lousy things begin, hairstylist started selling me abt their "natural non-chemical" hair dye product and keep on insisting that if i dont use this natural product (which i had to top up sgd68), they will use the CHEMICAL usual product that they have! I resisted to top up cos i've had those same kind of marketing offers before but atleast they never use this stupid CHEMICAL strategy to threat customers! I asked for my usual hair dye brands which are loreal or revlon, they say they dont have. What kind of salon doesnt offer these hair dye brands! And the hair spa thats included in my groupon voucher, they never gave me this treatment, according to them, they will just apply something to my hair to protect my hair from the hair dye! Their voucher indicated clearly that it's a Shiseido hair spa treatment! This salon are SCAMMERS!
PLEASE NEVER GO OR EVEN ATTEMPT TO GO TO THIS SALON. Im sure there are other better salons out there. And always check for reviews before buying ur vouchers.

Scissorhands at bukit batok!! beware when u buy from groupon!!!
Do not buy any deals voucher from any online website for perm or rebonding or any other services from scissorhands! They are scam!
I bought vouchers from groupon to do perming and when I reach they start to do scalps scans and start to psycho u that ur scalp is v bad and insist u do treatment. And when I refused, they start to say if I want to do perming I should upgrade to a.better lotion at a hundred over buck and when I turn it down they said they cannot do the service for me and ask me to pass the voucher to my relative instead.
Pls think twice when u buy voucher to do ur service there as u may end up wasting ur time and money. I called groupon up for a refund though.

Bad Service
I purchased a deal from Groupon for perm and hair treatment worth $48. The Boon Keng branch gave me the worst time in my life for today! They told me that they could not perm my hair coz it has underwent hair coloring. But they asked me to top up $120 so that they'll use a milder lotion and proceed with the perming. Crazy thing is when I booked for an appointment a month ago and told them I wanted a digi perm they didn't say anything about it and booked me a schedule instead. Don't go to this salon!waste of money and time!
Bad service
I bought a groupon for hair perming at The Scissorhands. I went to their Holland branch. They asked me what kind of perm do I like. When I told them I want a regular perm, they insisted that they will do a digital perm. My hair has a bit of curls still from my previous perm. I was done in less than an hour and there were no change from my current curls! They told me the perm is done! They keep selling me some other treatments or services but I told them I don't have the budget for it. Do not go to this salon. They're not really providing the service that you paid for. I paid $48 for the groupon but just wasted my money on nothing.
Thank you for people like you who posted this. This serves as a warning for their bad service.

I tell don't go, I'm going to call police, then he n the lady quickly run. Fxxx. .. I really wanted to slap him by using my bag already
@Nuttyhaze, just to share that it may not be possible to cancel the instalment. What I understand from UOB is the $$ has been disbursed. I have a watsapp group chat with a few victims where we share / update info on the progress and info gathered. If you're keen to join, pls provide me with your mobile number at mawby84@hotmail.com
@Nuttyhaze, based on what I understand from another victim and myself (both of us signed up with UOB interest free instalment plan), UOB's stand is the $$ had been given to the service provider, therefore we would not be able to cancel the instalment. Yes, I guess its the first time for most of us. i have set up a watsapp chat group to share updates about this among fellow victims. If you're keen to join the group chat, can email me at mawby84@hotmail.com with your mobile number.
Hi, I am also a victim have spent at least. 3.5k for packages. I still have a package with them that is under installment with 2 months to go. Any idea is it is possible to cancel the installment? This is the first time I'm encountering such a thing...not quite sure what to do
Hi all,
I'm also one of the victim ~ I've been a regular cust w them for at least 7-8 years(they started w a humble background in Clementi Blk 32x hdb, tik they expand too fast over the years). Thou, they're quite pushy selling me package(s), I still signed-up w them as my stylist "workmanship / creativity of playing w colours" is quite good. I've at least $3.5K(new package signed ~1yr ago) and "bites & pieces" sessions left[colour, nano treatments, hair ampoules, products etc); tik at least another $1-2K with them ~ so total ard $4.5 - 5.5K ! I went to their HV outlet on last Sat and that's the only pcs of info pasted there and tat number is a Hi-card num; called several times also in vain ...
Imagine suppose to be "beauty stuff" stuff that makes you feel happy ended up such a disappointment !
Mawby84 :- it will be great to have a WA chat group to update another. TIA !
just a suggestion. could we maybe set up a watsapp chat group to update one another? I do have another gf who is caught in the same fix :( pls email me at mawby84@hotmail.com if you're keen to be part of the watsapp group. Thanks all :)
@snoopy_tweety01, may I know if we are required to hand deliver the SCT notice? I will be submitting the SCT claim by this week. Could I check what supporting documents did you provide? My package was signed almost 2 years ago and I only have the credit card statement indicating the no. of instalment and each instalment amount. Contacted CASE and they said that it would suffice.
So the plan is to sit and wait?
I also went to the salon and I want my refund back. they give all kinds of reason big boss have to came back to them . It's being 2yrs still now I have not rec'd my refund . I dont get my refund i will tell my lawyer to handler them
snoopy_ tweety01, what is SCT? You know where Pang stays? I went to the Suntec outlet today. Things are still intact inside the shop and no notice pasted on the door, just that the doors are shut. The lights in the shop were still on.
LingLee/Memomemi, do u report to CASE and SCT? I went to his hse and delivered the SCT notice. Pang shd be the one who was the one who opened the door. Shin Min journalist went there but no one at hm or refused to open. Staff has attitude issues and kept on delaying and not telling truth. Got to know recently only...all gone...;(
