My sister tried to schedule her wedding through Destify/Travel Zap
My sister tried to schedule her wedding through Destify/Travel Zap. They recently canceled the wedding for the following reasons 1. The person assigned to her wedding ghosted her for about 2 weeks not returning her texts or calls. We had our cousin reach out and she returned her inquiry about OUR cousins wedding in 2021 within a few hours. 2. The wedding was rescheduled from June to February . When my sister contacted them about the December deadline due to covid our brothers were hassled about their final payments and refused an extension due to covid (theyre in NY). My sister decided to call off the destination wedding. When I asked the company for a full refund due to their handling of her wedding they insisted I am the one trying to cancel the trip and refuse to refund the deposit. Would not recommend doing business with this company.
MICHELLE *** NEEDS TO BE FIRED
MICHELLE *** NEEDS TO BE FIRED. She was the travel coordinator for my sister's wedding in Cabo and we would have been better off doing it all ourselves. Not only did we all end up paying hundreds of dollars more than going directly to the resort website, she was the most rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful person I have dealt with in the service industry. Michelle instigated arguments via email with myself, my sister (the bride), my parents, and 3 other wedding guest couples. If anyone asked her a question, she responded as if it was the biggest inconvenience to her and would give the most demeaning responses. She told my sister (the bride), that one of the guests were "HURTING HER FEELINGS AND MAKING HER FEEL UNAPPRECIATED" because they needed to make a date change due to COVID and Michelle was so unwilling to even help. I'm sorry but how unprofessional to say something like that when it's YOUR JOB. Her supervisor even reached out to my sister after and apologized on behalf of her. That didn't stop the behavior though, it went on for months after. It was honestly one thing after another and because of her I will never use ***/TravelZap again. Horrible experience!
Travel Zap/Destify is a very dishonest, incompetent, and unethical Company and they have continuously refused to respond to any of my emails, phone calls and text messages regarding the overpriced hotel rates they emailed to me for my daughter's wedding. I have sent Destify proof of the rates other booking sites such as Expedia, Orbitz, Booking, and the Royalton hotel, are all charging, which is half of the price Travel Zap/Destify is charging us. I have requested a price match from Destify numerous times, but to no avail, no response. I cannot comprehend why Destify is charging $2,360 whereas the rates on the other booking sites mentioned above is $1,279 for the same hotel suit at the same hotel. For those of you who want to have a terrible experience and want to get taken advantage of, and be swindled, then that's what you will get from Destify. Destify is extremely unprofessional with a complete lack of service, no responses, no price match, and no refunds for deposits made. Sarah is horrible, never answers our calls, nor does she respond to any emails or phone or text messages. This company retained funds for services not rendered and they are blatantly exploiting customers during this unprecedented global pandemic. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Do yourself a favor and avoid Destify if you want to avoid unnecessary stress, disappointments, and excessive rates for your trip. Book your own trip/hotel or contact a more honest, reliable, and competent travel agency.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE from the get-go
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE from the get-go. We are most upset about the fact that we can't even get into Costa Rica (where we had our wedding booked) and Destify is STILL refusing a full refund. Being forced to cancel because of border closures (because of a pandemic!) and having a company still keeping your $800 wedding deposit seems unethical. Secondly, there were pricing errors from the beginning that Destify was trying to pass on to us. First error was they forgot to include travel to and from the airport as part of the package they quoted us. AFTER we paid the deposit for the package, our wedding coordinator comes back, says she made a mistake, and tried to get us to pay the extra money for the travel. We pushed back and eventually she said that she would just cover the travel out of "her own pocket." About a week later, she leaves the company and we are sent to another wedding coordinator. The next error they made was they kept changing the terms of what was included in the wedding brochure. We ended up having to speak with a hotel representative directly from Dreams Las Mareas because our wedding coordinator was unresponsive. In the wedding package that we originally paid for, a sound system was included. Dreams Las Mareas tried to swindle us out of our sound system saying, "we were given an old brochure and the new one which was recently updated no longer includes the sound system." We had to go back and forth with the hotel until they eventually agreed to let us keep the sound system. If we would have known how difficult and expensive NOT being able to have a wedding with both Destify and Dreams Las Mareas would be, we would have never considered this.

Deceptive and Dishonest is their business practice
Deceptive and Dishonest is their business practice. Bait and switch to increase reservation prices and refusal to refund deposit when they are called out on their deceptive dealings. I contacted Destify , for my destination wedding for December . Room deposits were made by myself and a number of my guests during the summer and fall of 2019 . The COVID global pandemic happened. In July I notified Erica *** of Destify I was postponing my wedding out of concerns for myself and my guest as a result of the pandemic. She responded by thanking me for notifying her and told me to let her know, and if I come up with a new date she could move the deposit over for me and my guests . In October I contacted her and inform her of my new wedding date, which was confirmed by the resort wedding planner for December . She asked if I had the new travel to adjust the booking. I did not have the new travel dates to adjust the booking; at the time and didn't want to make a rush decision as we had time to finalize. The last email communication from Destify was a request for payment in October which I questioned as we were no longer having the wedding in 2020. On December 4th I received an email from Erica informing me vouchers would be issued to me and my guests for future travel and to contact guest service to rebook. I responded explaining I was confused and wanted an explanation why the funds were not being moved to the new dates as I was told and why vouchers were being issued. the response was, I cancelled my wedding so vouchers were being issued for new bookings. I informed her I never cancelled my wedding and she should review the email I sent to her in July regarding the postponement and further asked if I cancelled my wedding why didn't I receive a refund? She then informed me I could have a refund for $1000 and vouchers for the room deposit. On further discussion , I was told there would be an increase from the previous rates because I changed the dates of travel. I inquired why this was not disclosed in July when I notified her of the postponement or October when I notified her of the new wedding date? I was rudely told, the hotel is open for business and I could travel on the previous dates I had reserved and keep the original rate. This I considered unprofessional and insensitive. (1) The agent increased the rates on reservation without previous disclosure when there were 2 opportunities to do so ,(2) my travel plans was about my wedding not a vacation for 2. (3) I had a guest list of over 50 people of varied ages mostly high risk to contact COVID; they were all notified the wedding was postponed and no one had control of the outcome of the pandemic. With this unprofessional conduct towards me and my guests, I decided it was best to discontine the business relationship as I no longer found the business relationship satisfactory. I requested the bookings cancelled and refunds made to me and my guest for the room deposits. I was told my $1000 dollars would be refunded to my card and vouchers would be issued . I am still waiting for my refund to my bank account. Destify terms regarding their price guarantee states ,"post purchase price increases to a vacation package after the initial deposit is made is prohibited, unless for government taxes and fees" which is not the case here. If further states . " if for any reason we have to increase the price of your vacation, including because of an error computing your price we will offer you the option of cancellation without charge, provided that you advice us within 7 days of your receipt of the increase" Which I did and Destify is refusing to refund the room deposits despite these terms for request of cancellation. The decision by Erica and Destify to cancel the previous reservations was also to bind me and my guest to their revised and updated travel policy which was recently amended to have COVID clause included for travel. I understand their right to protect their interest; however these terms were not applicable at the time we made our deposit for booking and were never disclosed or discussed in the email communication from Erica about issuing vouchers for rebooking just as the non-disclosure regarding price increase until the new dates for booking were discussed. I inquired about the terms of the vouchers to advice my guests in advance, was told the terms would be attached with the vouchers when they were issued. I asked about the option to use the vouchers for the room deposit to continue booking directly with the hotel and was told by A. Lobianco booking could only be done with Destify, stipulation attached to the voucher I received contained language of clear intimidation to which gives clients no options but to book with Destify, as profit is their main objective and not the satisfaction of their clients and a means to violate clients rights to determine who they want to do business with. The stipulation in the vouchers includes ,statement which states "if rates are disputed at the time of rebooking the vouchers becomes null and void" this is unethical. Destify should honor the terms applied to room deposit at the original time of booking and refund all monies per their terms of cancellation without charge due to their increase booking rates, as they were notified in 7 days of my decision to cancel. I have copies of the original terms issued at the time of the room deposits were made in 2019. Buyers beware booking with Destify agent Erica *** her business practice are not in your best interest there have been several negative reviews against her about her rude and unprofessional conduct. Reservations are not made with you hotel of choice directly through Destify, but through a third party. I have never regretted doing business with any business entity as I do with Destify and it's agent.

I paid a $300 deposit for my wife and I to attend my sister's destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
I paid a $300 deposit for my wife and I to attend my sister's destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Due to COVID the wedding was cancelled. My wife has preexisting health conditions that makes her vulnerable to COVID and due to immigration challenges (she is a temporary green card holder) wrought by the pandemic we are unable to travel internationally. Since both limitations are direct consequences of the pandemic I am entitled to a full refund.

I put a deposit down $900 a year ago for a destination wedding trip to Jamaica through this travel agency. Due to the current pandemic we are not able to go on that trip for several reasons including; 1. The bride and groom cancelled the wedding 2. Jamaica is currently under curfew due to a high number of positive Covid cases. 3. The hotel is willing to refund ALL funds for the deposit. 4. There were young children included in the trip with health issues and traveling puts them at greater risk. 5. Their website states that they are willing to give refunds or change dates due to the pandemic. I attempted to get a credit on the trip due to these valid reasons and was denied. This is horrible to be robbed of funds during such an emergency state of the world for reas.ons that were out of my control.
I paid a $300 deposit in February for a wedding that was to take place in June
I paid a $300 deposit in February for a wedding that was to take place in June . Reservation *** Due to circumstances out of my control, COVID, the wedding was postponed and then canceled. I have inquired about a refund of the $300. It is correct that I did not have travel insurance, however, this pandemic was out of my control. I am entitled to this money as this is a direct consequence of the pandemic. The voucher provided does me no good as I will not be leaving the country by December , due to the pandemic. Yet again, circumstances out of my control.

I contracted Destify to help me plan my destination wedding in Feb 2020
I contracted Destify to help me plan my destination wedding in Feb 2020. The wedding was scheduled to take place in August in Cancun, MX. However, a few months later I had to postpone/cancel my wedding ceremony because of the pandemic. I was told by the my Destify rep that I would be able to use the deposits and any money we'd already paid for a new trip in 2021. My family and I paid $300 deposits for 5 rooms, totaling about $1500. But they have not honored this promise. I called, texted and emailed several times, and after about a month, I received an email telling me that I would not receive a refund NOR could I used the money to reschedule a new trip.

I have been displeased and health wise completely stressed with my service that I have been given for my big wedding in May with DESTIFY They have been terrible. Lack of service all the way from management to my original assigned booking agent who disappeared on us just a few months before the big day. One of the main reasons I chose DESTIFY was having a personal booking agent who was dedicated to my wedding. She herself was disorganized and always forgetful of things promised in writing! Now my guests, myself and husband have had to wait weeks for responses , weeks for phone calls. They have yet to Update my planner with hard rock on any credits . They have left guests unattended and Left in the air with questions regarding booking and insurance. Misleading information constantly provided. When I ask for Someone in chain of command to call me I get NOTHING

Reservation # [protected] Amount Charged: $150 Date Charged: [protected]:07pm I paid for travel insurance and a vacation package in July . 2 weeks before the vacation that was supposed to start on 2/14, Prime Minister Justin *** cancelled all flights from Canada to Mexico and prohibited travel to Mexico through 4/30. I emailed Destify and notified them immediately. They responded with: "According to the Canada travel site, https://travel.gc.ca/travelling/advisories, this is only a travel advisory and not a travel ban so normal terms and conditions apply. Since you purchased travel insurance, if you choose to cancel, you will receive a refund less the cost of insurance." This was not accurate so I proceeded to ask for a refund of my travel insurance or extension to be able to use it in the future and I was told that I would not receive a refund of my travel insurance and only the vacation would be refunded. This was a force majeure event and outside of my control.

Booked 2 Haciendas Suites at *** on 5/26 for a family of 5 for $4050 which included airport transfer. Paid entire balance on 5/27. Entered flight information via Guest Dashboard on 6/10 which showed 2 Hacendia Suites booked for us. On 7/23 logged into guest dashboard with same link provided on 6/10 to discover only 1 room on on guest dashboard for 3 individuals and room booking had been changed to a Riviera suite which was initial quoted $700 lower than the room category we selected. We were never notified of the change. Also when reservation was split from one guest dashboard into 2, they failed to transfer flight information for 2nd guest dashboard so ground transportation was not provided for the 2 of the 5 individuals in our group. I contacted Destify/TravelZap by phone on 7/23 and left a voicemail explaining the issue. Someone called me back within the hour and said they would look into it and get back to me. It is now 3 days later and we have yet to receive a call.
