Fraudulent Activity
I called Travelation on 6/10/14 and spoke with Bernard to find a flight for my son to come home. He found a $999 flight for 2 people. I booked the flight and received an email confirmation. An hour after I booked the flight, I got a call back from Bernard stating that US Airways could not confirm available seats on the flight, so he had to cancel the reservation. He said he would check to find another flight for me. He called me back 2 hours later and stated that he had found another flight, but for one day later than we originally wanted, I said to book it. But this time, I never got the confirmation email. He had given me a reservation code over the phone, but I never received anything via email. So I called the next day and was told by Tyron, that he could see it on his end, but I told him that when I tried to look it up under their reservations site, it would not come up, the only reservation that came up was the original one Travelation cancelled themselves. I started getting uneasy and said that I did not want whatever he was showing and was told that there would be $100 cancellation fee charged. I asked for what? Because I never received confirmation that the 2nd reservation was ever even booked. How did I know that he had a reservation to cancel? He said that he showed it on his computer and that I had no option but to pay the fee. I asked for an email confirmation of this, but again never received anything. I called a day later and was told again that they could see the 2nd reservation in their computer, but that they could not email me confirmation because it had to be done by Tyon, but he wasn't there. I was told that they would have him send it to me. Still another day has gone by and I have not received an email. So I am now wondering if it ever existed at all, that my suspicion was correct. Apparently, they charged me $100 cancellation fee for a reservation that Travelation cancelled themselves. They cannot provide any proof that the 2nd one even existed. I find this quite disturbing and fraudulent on their part. I will pursue various means to deal with this with regulatory authorities.

Misleading and just plain bad service
I tried to purchase a ticket from Denmark to Venezuela, compared sites, expedia, kayak, cheapoair, travelocity and so on. Don't remember just how I ended up on Travelation.com but it certainly was bad luck.
They offered a very competitive price and the correct lines and schedule, plus they accepted Venezuelan credit cards, so I purchased the ticket, not really believing I'd have issues. CC went through, the purchase was confirmed, received a confirmation code and all I wanted to receive was an e-mail with the trip schedule and the option to reserve the seats.
Instead I received a letter informing me they needed me to fill a form out before confirming the purchase, now I am informed I cannot cancel the reservation (which isn't done yet) or I will be charged 150 dollars as a penalization... they request I fax them my credit card both sides and passport too... now I'm getting worried... but I had already added the CC in the rez system, so what the heck. Then I receive a message asking for the info in color! What fax sends in colors?!
So I call the people, send them the info via e-mail... yes, yes, I know, insecure, INSECURE! but I did get someone on the other side of the phone, took me ages. Anyway, they guy, who is called Bud or something, despite the guy being obviously Indian, tells me he can't offer me the same rate as my "confirmed" purchase had given me, he offers a ticket that is 300 dollars more expensive. I look up the Travelation site, and there's the rate I was offered 4-5 days ago (there was a weekend in between)... but he invents an excuse that the rates are managed by the airlines and that it's not what they see in real-time on their screens, that the tickets are all sold and so on, the usual excuses. He is going to send me the new itinerary and I have to confirm the e-mail. He sends off a new itinerary and no rate.
I cancelled my credit card immediately and stopped communicating with these shady characters.
Conclusion, don't waste your time with them, it's obviously not transparent, I am not totally sure how they get away with it, but don't do business with Travelation, they are trying to fool you into purchasing tickets at higher than the market rates. I purchased the ticket on Expedia for almost 350 dollars less than the rate they were to charge me in the end, and actually 20 dollars less than the initial rate that Travelation "offered", that day for some reason I didn't find the good rate at Expedia, something that would have saved me lots of time, headaches and distress.
If you see Travelation anywhere, skip them, if not, mark my words, you'll regret it.

I have booked 2 tickets from Travelation.com as they gave me very good price . Actually they are giving $15 off per person . I have booked a trip with my wife.So, I got $30 off. I dnt know whether they are scam or not . Hope everything will go well.

10/4/12 9:00 p.m. I posted a search for a flight from Washington to Myrtle Beach, most of the returned responses were for $385 on up, except for one by Travelation at $252.60, ID # [protected] this was a 6am flight out of National, Wash D.C. arriving by 11am in Myrtle Beach, the information on the web site noted that you had to contact the call center to book it, not the internet. I called the number listed, within moments of getting my response back, and spoke to a service representative who told me the $252.60 rate was no longer available and the next thing available was one at $338. I said WOW that was a pretty big jump and that I had just received the information on the web, seconds ago! He told me their web site is updated by the Airlines and that they have no control over pricing of the tickets, and that the rate/ seat was no longer available. I immediately asked for a manager, was directed to a gentleman named Roddy? Who went at great lengths to explain to me how their web information is soley driven by the Airlines and that they have “no control” over available seats and the pricing of those seats. Well I believed this and explained that I had a HORRIBLE experience with “CHEAPO air” and had cause and previous bad experiences that made me leery of false promises. Well problem after problem I was able to get it fixed but it cost me a tremendous amount of time with very poorly trained or managed people. Back to Roddy, he confirmed the previous service reps’ information stating that all the $252 seats were gone, and the best he could do was $338. He told me Travelation was run by LBF Inc., and they have been in business for 10years plus and told me that if they were switching pricing they would not be in business long! I asked if they ever had a different business name in those 10 years and he began to mumble something inaudible. At this point I told him I would do some more research and get back to him in the morning! The next morning, I contacted a travel agent inquiring about a one way flight from National via Delta to Myrtle Beach, she confirmed that there was that flight for $252., but it was at 6am, most importantly it was AVAILABLE, still! Although the even better news was that the travel agent was able to secure my ticket for $272.60 a connecting flight. I also attempted to secure the same ticket for ID # [protected] and # [protected] at 9:14pm. In my experience and my opinion, my experience with Travelation, was a classic example of an attempted Bait and Switch, by Travelation. Avoid these people at all costs.

Bad Business Practices
I bought a ticket through Travelation. Had to cancel it and they told me that it was non-refundable (not posted on their website) and the credit would cost me $200. I asked for a manager and then they said it would cost me $100 plus fees to use the credit. Pretty much costing me the price of the ticket. A lot of what they said I couldn't understand because I was talking to INDIA!
I will never use this travel site again. When I told them it didn't say 'non refundable', they said I should have assumed it. Idiots! Bad business practices and poor customer service!
Travelation my credit card twice when I ask for a full refund on both for reason of trust only 11 hours after the reservation they gave me credit for one and not the other. Later that day they sent me a email saying my flight times was changed when I tried to change my flight for another day they said flat out no changes even though their airline partner made the changes I booked with another airline and lost any means to get my money back. The worse part is. they out source everything so when I ask for manager they say one will call me back and it's the same out source people just telling me the same thing. They don't give reference numbers or take notes even when they say they do take notes
Hello, in such cases you should write a mail or take the help of travellerhelpdesk. Write here and there wont help. No one can charge you for refundable ticket. On site it is clearly mentioned "Tickets are non refundable, non transferable, non-assignable". Check it on http://www.travelation.com/flights. Also in flight detail page when you agree to terms and condition, it is also mentioned there. Before booking you should carefully read all these things. Travelation is customer satisfaction oriented and always ready to help their customers.
no flight that day
I had a flight booked with Travelation for May 6, 2012 out of Palm Springs. No flight existed! That flight had been cancelled the month before but Travelation booked me anyway & then if they ever found out about it, they never contacted me. I am handicapped & getting around is very difficult. I had to stay overnight in PS at considerable expense plus great pain & suffering. Don't ever book with Travelation. I wrote them a letter describing this ordeal...never heard from them. Shame!

Scam! Credit card charged for non-existent tickets!
THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!! My mother purchased 3 tickets 3 months before Christmas. Her card was charged, but when they arrived at the airport, their tickets DID NOT EXIST. I made flight reservations online for March 2007, and received an e-mail response, saying I would receive my confirmation within 72 hours. One week later, after not hearing back from the company, I tired to contact them. They did not respond to my e-mails, and I could not find any phone number for them. I tried numerous times, even indicating subject as "URGENT." Finally, I received an e-mail that said, "If we debited your account (they had) then you have reservations."
I contacted someone locally in the travel industry; they followed up with all the airlines serving the airport we were flying to. It was confirmed we DID NOT have any reservations with any airline for our dates and destination. I continue to attempt to connect with the company without any success.
Finally, I went to my bank and filed a fraud complaint. which they were going to investigate. The company sent my bank a letter, along with other paperwork, denying the charge and unwilling to assist. The airlines, Alaska, was unwilling to help as well.
I am concerned about anyone using this company, especially after talking to the City of Coronodo Business Licensing Department, and was just told... the business has changed names throughout the years, and closed this past January (2007), not renewing their business license. This is not a legit company.
I am reporting to Better Business bureau and to the Coronodo Police Fraud Division.
