Great company to work with
Great company to work with. I had my water system installed by them a little over 2 years ago and it has changed my life. The piece of mind and the savings over time is well worth the cost, and the people that work here are always a pleasure to deal with. Thanks Tri-State!

After a 2hr sales pitch and an agreement to start the water service at 93 dollars a month for 10 yrs I was called at 8am with a new price of 108 a month. Classic bait and switch. Apparently a high 700's credit score wasn't good enough, but if I paid an additional 15 dollars a month it would work. I cancelled.

Have been working with Tri-State for almost ten years
Have been working with Tri-State for almost ten years. Two home generator systems, a water softener, and most recently a tankless water heater. Service has never been an issue. Since Kevin started doing our service work, things have even gotten better! We had a small issue after a whole-house surge suppressor, and Kevin was back out within days and took care of the issue. He even gave us his cell so we could text him directly with any issues. Other than that issue, we've not had any service-related problems on any of our installations. I've recommended Tri-State to several friends, and they too have had no issues with either sales or support. Top-notch company and they seem to prefer only the best equipment brands.

I had a very simple gas hot water heater replacement project
I had a very simple gas hot water heater replacement project. I sent Tri-State 2 pictures of my existing water heater and piping. My water heater sits out in the open and these two pictures showed all the details required. They gave me a bid and assured me there would be no extras. After waiting a week the technician showed up told me it would be an extra $60 for a new shut off valve. I had a shut off valve, it was working correctly, it's location was correctly and clearly shown on the pictures that I sent Tri-State. Tech would not install the heater unless I agreed to the extra $60 charge and I couldn't wait another week for a different contractor. Very disappointed with the business ethics of this firm and would recommend you not use them.

Tri-State performed maintenance on my water softener system on March 23rd
Tri-State performed maintenance on my water softener system on March 23rd. While swapping out the charcoal tank the technician dropped it and the tank fell over onto my treadmill. This caused considerable damage to the treadmill rendering it unusable. The tech told me not to worry about it, put a note in his file, and to expect a call from his supervisor to discuss repair or replacement. Several days went by with no call so I called the office and was told to expect a call in a few days. After 5 days of waiting I received a call back from Tyler ***. Tyler asked me to send him some photos and the damage and that he would take care of the issue right away. I sent the photos the following day. Tyler called me back a few days later and explained that he was going to order some replacement parts to attempt a repair. He said he would update me when the parts came in. Two weeks later I hadn't heard anything so I followed up and was told that he had no updates on my parts. Again I waited two weeks and followed up. Now it's early May and has been 7 weeks since the damage happened. I didn't hear anything so I tried again several days later. Still no response from Tyler. On May 21st I call the office number and ask for Tyler and I'm directed to his voicemail. Still no response. It has now been 10 weeks since the incident occurred and I have no real answers on how this will be resolved. The communication from Tyler has been terrible. All I've wanted since this happened is for my treadmill to be repaired or replaced. They had no problem taking my money for the service.

We purchased this system in hopes to help reduce sediment in our water when we lived in the county
We purchased this system in hopes to help reduce sediment in our water when we lived in the county. The system did the job (2 stars for that reason). However, the system was connected to our A/C drain in our mechanical room and we continually had issues with that drain backing up and flooding the surrounding area. We assumed it was a drain/piping issue and just continued to perform clean up each time it happened as well as had plumbers come and clean out the drain a few different times. We purchased a new home and decided to bring the *** system with us to the new home - big mistake, wish we had left it with the house. The system was again placed in our mechanical room to share the same drain as on of our A/C units. The fee charged by TriState to move the unit (and service it as it was due for a servicing) was quite expensive ($125/hour with multiple hours being utilized). Though the service man was quite nice, the removing & reinstallation was process was expensive and incorrectly placed. In the 3.5 months since having the system reinstalled in our new home, we have had gallons upon gallons of water back up from that drain multiple times, flooding multiple areas within our basement. We have paid for plumbers to come out twice so far to clean out the pipes, though the second time the plumber informed us there was no backup in the pipe but that it was simply too small to handle that amount of water being dumped into it all at once (only 1.5" pipe). He suggested having the system moved to our other A/C units drain in another are of the basement which contains a 4" drain. When I spoke with a customer service rep at TriState, I gave him this information and asked if the system could be moved and the fee associated with reinstallation be waived as the technician who installed it initially should have known that the 1.5" drain would be insufficient for handling the amount of water that is dumped every 7-10 days (around 50 gallons). He checked with a manager who said the system could be moved but we would be responsible for the $125/hour fee again. That would be anywhere from $250-500 again on top of the two bills we've already had to pay to the plumber for coming out due to their mistakenly placing the system to empty into a drain that is definitely incapable of handling the waste the system dumps. We would hope that they could rectify the issue by moving the system without an additional fee. We've spent numerous hours sucking up water and cleaning the floors from a flooded basement (which is finished, with tile flooring thankfully, but that we use) on numerous occasions now. The lack of attempting to help in any manner, aside from charging us from yet another service, is super disappointing. We will now have a $7000+ system sitting uselessly in our basement for the time being as we have turned it off and are unsure as to whether or not we will continue using it as that would require us to continue using TriState's services as well. We do not recommend having this system installed in your home, as the hassle far outweighs the benefit. If you have hard water, we suggest going with the more cost-effective and efficient typical water softeners available at local hardware stores. ~Very unhappy Customers

Water softener
I had a service call done to change out a water softener tank late last year. A 20 year old male shows up and wheeled out a replacement tank out of his’ van and brought it downstairs to replace it. After disconnecting and rolling it to the side, I told him to wait, while I mopped up the access water from the lines being disconnected. After which he...

I purchased a water treatment system and hot water heater in 2016 from this company, and also have a service agreement with them
I purchased a water treatment system and hot water heater in 2016 from this company, and also have a service agreement with them. I have recently had trouble with the hot water heater, they sent out a repairman who said the water heater was defective and had erupted, I was told to contact the manufacture to discuss warranty. I called the manufacturer and was told this company needs to call them directly, not me. Tri-State is refusing to address this and to reach out to the manufacturer to get this product they sold to me to be covered under the warranty I was promised.

They installed a water softener on 9/26
They installed a water softener on 9/26. We moved in 3 and they installed it there. It never worked at either home. We are paying for a product that we are paying for every month that is not working. They have come out 6-8 times in the last year and they can't get it fixed. They change the filters. They refuse to take the product back. They told us we could sell it. The water has a real sulfur taste to it and it has a sewer smell to it. We don't want to drink the water. It is not removing the salt from the water. There is slime build up. The regular tap water tastes fine.

I purchased a whole home generator in 6 from this company
I purchased a whole home generator in 6 from this company. The product lost its memory in late-August or early September. They came out and reprogrammed it. They wanted me to sign a service agreement or pay for the repair. I told them I only had it a couple of months. It didn't come with a warranty. They didn't charge me. The memory has gone out on it again and I called them. They told me I would have to sign a service agreement or pay a $150 service fee. I signed up for the service agreement. I saw a commercial for the same exact product and it said it came with a 10 year parts and labor warranty. This product is not a year old yet.

We purchased a new water heater through Home Depot who contracted out the installation to Tristate Water
We purchased a new water heater through Home Depot who contracted out the installation to Tristate Water. Our old water heater had started leaking but ran perfectly otherwise. The first day 1/11 a tech came out and removed the old heater and installed the new one. We waited for hours for the new one to heat up. We knew this was not right as the specs on the heater says it heats within an hour. I waited until the next day to be sure it was not just slow due to pulling ice cold water. The hot ran out quickly the next day. I called Tristate and told them the hot was running out too quickly. They sent someone to check it. The new tech said all the taps were reading the correct temperature. I told him that it was heating but would not last. He ended up staying and tracing the issue to the electrical saying we were only getting half the power we should be. He told me to call an electrician and left. $1400 and no hot water. Had to pay an electrician $200 to fix the way they installed it.

I am reaching out for help concerning a product we bought from Tri State Water, Power and Air in Cape Girardeau, MO, a Rain Soft water system
I am reaching out for help concerning a product we bought from Tri State Water, Power and Air in Cape Girardeau, MO, a Rain Soft water system. We purchased a water treatment system approx. 6 months ago. The salesman promised all kinds of benefits and being able to save almost enough money on products we buy at the store for household cleaners, detergents, body soaps, water, etc. to almost make the payment on the system. We were told how it would soften our skin so we wouldn't have to buy lotions any more. The free products you can get would practically replace any cleaning products you now use. I do not like any of the products I have used except maybe the foaming hand soap which I could buy anywhere. You add water to a very small amount of cleaning product to fill a bottle and that is it. It is, of course, so watery it runs out of the bottle really fast and it does not work as well or better than anything I have ever used. We were not told about how the system makes your skin feel like you never get the soap off. They tell us that is the body's natural oils coming out. I do not know what it is, but I do not like it, and neither does Terry. I guess you would have to shower at least twice a day to get this affect, if that is what it is, because I still have to slather lotion on my dry skin daily. I cannot justify the cost of this over the next however many years when we don't even like it. When we called the first time about not liking the system, I spoke with a lady who was very nice. She said she didn't want us to like the system, she wanted us to love it. They did send a tech to make an adjustment to the system and it helped a little bit, but it is still not at all what we expected. Had we known it was going to be like this we never would have bought it in the first place. It is a shame to take advantage of older people, especially during a time like this, with what I consider misleading information and false promises to convince you it is the best thing ever and how good it is for you. I called Tri State this afternoon (Jan. 4) and he told me that it sounded like the system was doing what it was supposed to do and he was sorry that we didn't like it but he could do nothing about it. They do not have a refund policy.
