HVAC contractor sales & service
We called tru-comfort for a service call on our hvac systems. The technician arrived and told us that our furnace was leaking co2 and it was very dangerous. He called the owner, bill liily who came to the house and had his technician check all of our 4 furnaces and than told us 3 of the 4 were leaking. He gave us a proposal for $33, 168 to replace these units. The next day we flow to our florida home. When we returned about a month later, the main furnace was not working. We called petro fuel to come service the problem. We found a flood in the basement, and the petro technician said that the sump pump was left unplugged (By tru comfort) and they had shut the gas off. The petro technician tested the furnace with a co2 meter and found no gas detected! I than called tru comfort to service the unit and i put it back the way they left it with the gas turned off and the sump pump unplugged. When the technician arrived, i videoed the whole conversation where he told me they accidentally left the sump pump unplugged and that "bill" the owner left the gas turned off because it was "unsafe to run the unit". He than performed the "smoke test" for co2 leaks and reconfirmed that the unit was leaking and unsafe to run. He called his office to have his supervisor come out and have us sign the agreement to put in a new unit immediately. We did not sign with them to put in a unit that did not need to be replaced but tru comfort needs to have their license revoked because we are sure that this is their standard operating procedure to rip off consumers.
