purchased a 8x10 ft garden ranch painted tuff shed but charged for a an 8x12ft shed.
I live in a community with a very strict HOA. I initialy went to purchase a 8x12 ft shed but told the Tuff Shed sales rep Michael Almaraz about the restrictions and was waiting for approval from HOA. I was told I needed to leave card on file to pay the initial 1/2 portion of price for 8x12ft Tuff Shed, so they could start with the process, which I did. I...

We purchased a shed from home depot in Bolingbrook Illinois and had it installed at 318 Karen drive-in Romeoville Illinois there are numerous problems with the shed the inspector will not pass the shed I have made a minimum of 8 phone calls with only one response back and was reassured that it would be taken care of that was on October 21st nothing has been done as of yet how do I handle this we purchased a very expensive shed that is unusable please contact me at [protected]
delivery issues
We purchased a small 8'x 10' Tuff Shed and were told it would be 2 weeks - 2 1/2 weeks tops for installation. We called after the 2 weeks and were told it would be an additional 2-3 and we were not happy and said if we had known this we would have gone elsewhere i.e. Home Depot or Lowes (they had delivery at the time the same week). We asked for our money...

From start to finish terrible. You pay up front and it is a series of corners being cut, delays, excuses, and idiot sub-contractors from then on. Unlevel concrete, obvious mistakes, failed inspections, contractors that dont want to work for tough shed. Do not buy from tuff shed!! They should be sued. I will never recommend them or buy anything else from them. Buyer beware!!!

Had a shed built in 2017. I paid an extra $120 to level the shed. Two years later, and it is now un-level. Looked on their website and saw they provide leveling services for a nominal fee, and that's perfectly fine. Contacted the sales guy who I dealt with during the shed purchase. He never contacted me back (over a week now). I then contacted the company through their website to request their leveling service. They too haven't got back to me. Guess they don't think the request is worth their time. Be very careful doing business with TuffShed. If you need any after sales service, you will not get it.
delivery and setup
We placed an order on July 31st for a 12'x12' Tuff Shed. We received a call from the Las Vegas office and were given a delivery date of August 15. On August 14th in the late afternoon, we were contacted by the same Las Vegas office and told we needed to reschedule because the crew doing the build was behind on other scheduled builds due to excessive heat in the area. We agreed and then found out the first available date they could get to us was August 27th. So another 12 days we wait. On August 26th, again late in the afternoon, the same lady from the same office calls to reschedule because this time she had no crew. Apparently, the entire crew had quit and the soonest date they could deliver was now going to be September 3rd. I have no doubts that we would have received another call on September 2nd asking us to reconsider. [censored]s!
excessive billing
I recently bought a tuff shed through Home Depot in C olumbia, Mo. I had the district sales rep come to my house to view my building site. He assured me there was no problem with the site. He later sent me a email stating I could be charged 125.00 leveling fee. When the shed was delivered and assembly was started I Received a phone call from Tuff Shed stating I was going to be charged 250.00, because 1 corner was to low. In my opinion I was deliberately ripped off by tuff shed. I'll never recommend tuff shed to anyone, or step foot into a Home Depot Store again.
shed
I just discovered one of the door's hinge was missing several nails.. I contacted the "Warranty Support" on July 28, 2019. Mr. Johnny advised me to email him a picture and he will call me back on the next day. As of 8/2/2019, I haven't heard anything back from Johnny so I emailed him back who stated that he's out of town at the moment and will get back with me on the next Monday. Very unprofessional and bad customer service.

unfinished work
them that was unacceptable and wanted someone to come that week, so they rescheduled for 7/4/19.
• 7/4/19 Shed was installed but incomplete. I was told that someone would be back to complete.
• 7/7/19 Sent email reviewing items left to be completed, and included photos.
• 7/9/19 Received "generic" email stating they were aware of the issue and the need to reschedule. And received a phone call to reschedule for 7/16/19.
• 7/10/19 Sent copy of email to Shante Jones who acknowledged.
• 7/16/19 Sent Shante an email in the morning to confirm someone would be there in the afternoon to complete the job.
• 7/16/19 a different crew showed up and did some work but still did not complete the job. I was told that they would have to come back.
• Then nothing. No one was picking up the phone number I was given. Shante won't return my phone calls or emails. I called their main number and talked to a few nice ladies in customer service who tried calling the general manager and Shante. Was promised I would be contacted, but as of 2:30 8/2/19 I still have not been contacted.
tuff shed - customer service
This is the second time I am contacting you regarding our situation with the Tuff Shed store on the south side of Tucson AZ. I purchased a larger tuff shed on April 17th 2019. It does require a permit. I was told that they had a lady who handles getting the the permit. I had explained that we needed the building for the summer months as the plan was to use...
Read full review of Tuff Sheddoor not closing, cause rodent to get in
THe door to tuff shed has not been able to close since initial installation. Service men came twice and the issue has not been resolved. This summer it got so bad that I can not close it leaving a big gap. Since it is outside, the gap leaves entry to squirrel and rodents to the storage area. I have shoulder and elbow pain, thus every time, I try pushing the door in, it does not get shut. My concern is when it rains too, the rain will get into the storage flooring when the gap is that big. I have contacted the local service number, but it it taking so long for them to get back to me.
sundance series tr800
I had my Tuff Shed TR 800 Series installed May 23, 2019. I had initially purchased a TR 700 series, but changed over to the more expensive TR 800 Series due to the higher roof line and truss structure. The TR 800 Series model at our local Home Depot also had a secondary storage area built in it that this series allowed. We found out while they were building it that due to the size of the building we had that a different truss structure had to be built. Why would I pay additional money for the next series up only to get less space! I have asked for reimbursement for the difference between the two series that I would not have paid extra for had I been informed of this minor detail in struss variances due to size ($615). My local Tuff Shed office has failed to respond to my three requests for reimbursement. Also the local Tuff Shed told the contractors building my shed to install the wrong soffits even though they knew they didn't fit and then tried to fill the 1-2" gaps with caulking! They are send a crew over for the third time to replace them like they should have done in the first place! My joists are wood rather that steel as the pamphlet reflects should be in place for my model. I was told this was done due to the size of the structure, but this is not told to you until after you purchase it. Feel like a bait and switch technique was used all the way around. My experience with Tuff Shed has been a nightmare!
TOUGH SHED REVIEW January 25, 2021
My current age is 75 and I have built many sheds and additions in my years. I am NOT a licensed builder but all the sheds and additions I have built have always passed a home building inspection. I would say if you are someone with no carpenter skills then hire a handyman or carpenter to build you a shed. I am also a disabled combat Veteran who a few years ago had a very big hand surgery and has lost use of his right hand now so I can't build sheds anymore. I needed a new shed and I went with Tough Shed. Never again would I let them build me even an outhouse on my property. According to my Township inspector these are made to just pass inspections and I mean barely. What a joke this was, the shed was prebuilt at the factory and then they started the final assembly at my location and found out the doors were 2 different sizes and the overhangs were not made for this 12x16 foot shed. They were made for a 10 foot shed. So back to the factory and wait for new ones to be made. When it came time to do the roof and shingles it is required to leave a 1/8 gap between the sheets of the cheap 7/16 OSB they put on the roof and of course you should not butt the sheets up at the peak especially in the cold winter. The use of plywood “H” clips is highly recommended to support extra weight on the roof between sheets and maintain the proper gap. Of course why listen to the old man here, so all the sheets are butted up tight now and no plywood clips were used, they cost 20 cents each and I needed 14 of them and when hot weather arrives the sheets will expand. I don't know how much they will expand but they will. When they nailed down the shingles the nails MUST break thru the roofing material by at least 1/4 inch, this is stated in THEIR brochure with a picture. All my roofing nail points barely break thru the wood and no shanks show thru the back side. Nails for shingles should have been at least 1 ¼ long and the shank should be showing thru the inside of the building. This is definitely a possible failure of the shingle when a strong wind comes and blows some off the roof. My inspector told me that they meet the very bare minimum requirements for nailing and taking them to court could turn into a long battle. Also the T1-11 siding is of a thin quality, bare minimum again and when they shoot the nails in with their air nail guns they go into the siding too deep, the head of the nail goes at least half way into the wood in some cases and it looks terrible even after the paint is applied. They had a few loose sheets of siding and they shot more nails then needed into the wood. It looks like someone was shooting a machine gun of nails in a few spots for the Heck of it. When they put the trim boards on the corners they shot nails into the boards every 5-6 inches, over kill with nails again. When spring comes I will take a good 40 year caulk and fill all them nail holes in flush to the paneling which is something they should have done to protect it from the weather. If I didn't do that then the water would get into the deep holes and start rotting that thin cheap wood, so I must caulk and paint again. Truth is from me I always took pride in what I built for myself and friends. When nailing the sheeting onto the walls I always used a hammer and nail set for a nice finish but for them time is money and a nail gun does the job if only the air pressure is set properly something that is hard to do. I learned many years ago that before installing the siding I prefer that the back side be painted 1 foot up from the ground 2 coats as well as the sides and bottom edge to avoid rotting of the wood walls from splashing ground water. I know it would be hard (sic) for tough shed to do that but it has sure kept my home built shed and my customers sheds in Northern Michigan from rotting when they are so close to the ground for the past 20+ years. The only compliment I can give is that they use 2 ¼ long screws for the hinges on the shed so they do go fairly deep into the wall studs for security on the door. I will add 2 pad locks as additional security to the doors for better security.
Summing it all up, I am sorry I had Tuff Shed do the job but it was August when I ordered this shed and it was not until January that it got built. I could not find a contractor to build me this shed; everyone was so busy because of the Covid 19 and shortage of wood. Take my advice if you use Tuff Shed you do need a permit and you will get a shed but it will meet code by bare minimum, believe me I do know what I am talking about. Possibly for a few dollars more or less you can get a quality shed built by a real carpenter who cares. These sheds are mass produced. Dated January 25 2021 and finally had a final inspection and thanks to the inspector for being so honest with me about something I already knew. Tough Shed is mass produced, poorly built at the factory and assembled in a rough quick way and barely meets inspections. THE END
Additional notes added April 1, 2021.
Shed has been caulked where all the nails to the panels had been shot at least ½ way thru the panels. This is on 90% of the nail holes. The doors on the shed were built where the metal frame is not set in properly and the panels on the doors are warping and away from sealing the doors. We will check into getting this fixed. Also need to call Jason or Derek to paint the building because of my handicap. The had promised to do that in the spring.
tuff warranty request
I call 8:15 AM to request that the Shed door be repair. Door is not aligned correctly with frame. Causing the door to do not close and there is a gap oughn top of the door frame shed. If it rains the shed will get really wet causing damage to floor and walls.
The number that i call i 512-312-2375. I was told that someone should be contacting me . Now is 5:45PM and have not receive any contact.
I bought the shed on April 5, 2019. The buying was perfect but requesting Warranty service it has not been to plesant.
shed
Purchased a Tuff Shed through Home Depot in Feb. 2019. The installers were great however the roof trusses did not fit properly and they had to rebuild them. Biggest issue I'm having is getting Tuff Shed to finish the job. They did not give the installers enough roofing material to complete the roof cap. Have tried several times to get them out to refinish but they only want to send someone out to do the work that is already installing another shed in the area. The first guy called on the day the job was scheduled and said they did not give him the material to do the work. Rather than him calling the factory, I had to call. Rescheduled another date. That date came and went without anyone calling or showing up. NOT IMPRESSED with Tuff Shed's customer service! I do like my shed. I just want them to finish it. Customer # 175308.
premier ranch 10' wide x 12' long
I received a phone call from Emily Tinaco from Tuff Sheds San Jose CA. Store the same day the Shed was installed. She wanted me to give them a great write up right away and it was already dark that evening. I told her that I will inspect the shed and get back to her.
I had 60 days to paint my shed or it would void my warranty if I didn't . While painting my shed I notice bent nails all over the outside of the shed, and I had to remove them and not just paint over them. Some of them broke off in the panels and I had to grind them out. All these nails should of been removed when the shed was being installed. I have a few pictures of the bent nails, but not all of them since I would of been an extra 3 hours taking pictures instead of painting. The vent was left broken, the door didn't close right, the gaps between all the wood pieces had great big gaps that I had to chalk in order to have the shed last. The nail gun they used was set very deep, so I had to chalk all those holes while painting. No refund was ever offered to me, and after several attempts to take to Emily, she never wrote back to me. I am very disappointed with the work on my shed. I feel since I had to repair hours of their work, I should of been refunded something, but never no contact from them. I also had to take apart the work bench they assembled because they used 2 pieces instead of a one piece top for the work bench . The two piece work bench was uneven. One piece of plywood was higher than the other, so I had to shim up the plywood to make it level. Also the door did not stay closed. I had a video but this site could not open the file. The door had to be slammed to stay closed. Not worth the $4, 500.00 they charged me. Be aware, not a good business place, look else were for other sheds.
tuff shed
After paying in full May of 2018 it's the end of Oct and it still has not gone through final corrections and inspections. The office is grossly understaffed and mismanaged every time you call they seemed to be so backed up and disorganized full of excuses. At this point my patience is at end and over with excuses I will make sure tuff shed knows this if it's not finalized quickly. I will file complaints on licensing, BBB, social media and publically. I'm done!

delayed installation of product
On June 18, 2018 I paid $7607.70 (the full price) for a Tuff Shed through the Home Depot in Hickory, NC. Since mid-July I've been trying to get the shed installation scheduled as promised without success. Communications with the factory location have been very poor. Now they tell me installation will be another two weeks away. This is simply unacceptable. We like the product, but delivery and customer service is abysmal. This is an immediate and urgent need.

I agree and co sign what you mean about scheduling. It took 2 months of delays before they install my tuff shed. I will never recommend them.
quality
I started insulating my Tuff Shed today. This is when I noticed the studs are not evenly spaced. Most are 16" on center, as they should be, some are 16-1/6" on center and at least 1 is spaced 17" from its neighbor. This was under a window and I am guessing it was done to save the cost of one 3' 2x4. Insulating the shed will now be far more difficult because of this sloppy workmanship.

custom made shed for backyard
After the sale I needed some adjustments with the new shed. They failed to show up for two appointments and left me hanging. Tried contacting the assistant manager several times but I got no response. Lousy customer service. Breach of contract. Complai shoulod be submitted too Consumers Affairs Department-Licensing Division.
Manager lied more than once stating they had tried to contact me to set an appointment but my Voice Mail was not setup. My voice mail has been set ups for years!
There are hundreds of complaints in the internet about this company. Unfortunately I did not check before I bought!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
Missed commitments
After many calls and a written contact they still managed to screw up the order. After waiting weeks for the she to be built, it was not built to agreed specs. Their product is very costly and is not worth the wait and missed commitments. Next time I will hire an actual
Contractor to build what I need. Not a company that takes you money, 100% three to four weeks before they build the incorrect building. Communication with them is like begging. They have no idea who a Customer is. This is a scam to float their business by paying weeks before they can deliver one of their standard products, as advertised.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
