Ultra Lean Green Tea offers a free trial online (you only pay shipping and handling). But you are then charged about $70/month for a monthly subscription that you are automatically signed up for. You can cancel this by calling the company number that appears on your credit card bill. Even when you call, they will try to coerce you into another deal to reclaim some of your lost money (a deal that actually costs you additional money). All in all, a harsh wake-up call to the dangers of buying items online and releasing you credit-card info.

I fell for this scam too but I could have good news for some of you. I signed up online and received the first shipment but by the time I received it I already regretted falling for something that was so obviously a scam so I ignored it. After receiving the second shipment, red flags flew up for me. I checked my credit card statements and sure enough, I found 2 charges both for 69.87 for this 'free trial'. On my credit card statement was the number for the company so I called [protected]. I waited on hold for about 45 mins and when I finally talked to someone they said as long as I return everything unopened, I can expext a full refund in 7-14 days. For anyone sending items back, the address to send it to is:
UltraLean MBM&F PO Box 2003, Riverton, UT, [protected] Now, whether or not the refund actually shows up remains to be seen but I will hope for the best and keep hounding them until it does. Good luck to anyone else trying this.

I saw their add on Myspace. I always google every product for their complaints before I even THINK about buying them. THANK GOD I DID! Oh wow, you guys. That is horrible. For me, I don't do so well with a credit or debit card, so I only put in the amount I know I am going to be using and can't use cash for. The over-draft charges would be outragious!

Yeah, I saw the endorcements for Opera and CNN and others... that's ridiculous if it's not true! Thank you for calling and e-mailing them about that, for those of you who did!

What I thought was cheeky was the website I went to first. The myspace add took me to this site:

http://www.laurasweightloss.com/?p=20

What I thought was weird at first is the comments on the bottom... you can tell they were written one after the other. The time and dates on them are all from today, September 23, 2008... and the time is one minute after the other! So I checked out the link:

http://www.laurasweightloss.com/?p=20

A 30 day trial... try it for 14 days? It says that right on top. It was just really really cheeky. I can't believe they have been still operating for this long? The first comments HERE are from 60 days ago.

I'm not one to do this, but I think I will e-mail Opera along with you guys. Hope it works. And I hope you all have better luck!

How can I end this? Should I contact the Better Business Bureau in Illinois? What other recourse do I have? They have my credit card number. I will try to stop charges by contacting the credit card company. These people should be removed from internet after so many people realize they are unscrupulous.

I ordered Ultra Green Tea's free tiral & paid shipping charge to my credit card.I received my product very late past the 14 day trial period in which you have to try the product & cancel if you do not like it.I there after called to cancel any further charges to my account & was given a confirmation number to confirm. The company then 1 week later used my credit card & charged another $69 to my account.I have not received any further product.Nor should they be accessing my credit card for charges.
I have left a message for my account to be resolved?
This is very deceiving & I will never use my credit card online in the future due to this horrible experience. They should be reported.
Christina Simeonoff ( Which by the way is a single Mom & can not afford people ripping me off in the first place!)
Thank-you

When I call the toll free number it is always 'after hours'. I have all the canisters unopened to return, however, there is no return information. I can't find any website, etc. to cancel.

I am contacting my banking institution tomorrow to file a complaint and refuse additional payments. If it works I'll return to let others know how to refuse.

I have learned a hard lesson...don't fall for scams with 'free trial' NOTHING is free.

Interesting that the amounts being stolen from us are different. I got suckered in with the 'trial offer of S/H @$4.95, now being ripped off @ $69.87 each month. I will complain to BBB and I'm making an official complaint with banking institution to refuse payment.

Hello...I ordered this 30-day trial last week and then found this list of complaints this week. I few minutes ago, I called [protected], told the nice girl that I did not want the auto ship and she canceled my account with no questions asked. I got a confirmation number for my cancellation and will keep checking my checking account just to make sure nothing other than the initial $4.95 for the trial is charged. I get to keep my 30-day supply and will try it out. Good luck to y'all!

i too was scammed by this company. Be cautious of the itty bitty print that says "Yes! send me tea suppliments with my order for only $39.95" with the box already checked, that you have to uncheck it. So I was sent the tea and suppliments, of course they charged me shipping and handling. After I spent about 20 minutes on hold with customer service, I discoved I ordered the suppliments and I needed to send it back with the tea or I would be charged over $120.00. So i sent it back, and of course I had to pay for the shipping and handling again. A month later... still no refund from them for the suppliments I did not want. When i called customer service to inquire about my refund, they told me there was an "error" in processing the refund, and they would resubmit it. That was 10 days ago... still no refund. I called 3 days ago and they said it should be in my bank account... it was not. They told me to call back Friday (today) if it still had not processed by this time. It hasnt, so I called back once again, and the woman said it should be there by tomorrow. I am so sick of getting the run around with these people, as I was tricked to begin with and the tea wasn't impressive at all. TOTAL SCAM! Don't be fooled by the pictures of the women on their website with flat abs and big breasts and false testimonials of thier crap product. A healthy Diet and exercise is the way to go :)

This is totally ridiculous! I did not order, because thankfully I found this! :) I'm really surprised that they are still operating since so many people have been scammed! If you have Firefox, the bottom links aren't even visible, they're freaking cut off and you have to use the "box arrows", you can't scroll! After I read this, I went back and used the box arrows to scroll down, and I read the terms. Notice the star. Even though they did do what they were entitled to do, its sneaky and deceitful, and its WRONG. I feel soo bad for all of you guys! I was redirected from myspace to;

http://www.laurasweightloss.com/?p=20

Gay ### D: After I read this, I also went to several "weight loss" sites, including the Acai Berry and the Wingumingu or whatever tea. I looked for their terms, and they too were doing sneaky business. Saying "Oh yeaaah, free trial!" then its like "Oh, forgot to tell you, youll be slapped with a $50 registration fee and billed each month". Their advantage is that almost nobody reads the terms, and even though its there, its camoflauged and veryyy small. So I hope everyone from now on will read the fine print. Oh, and get this- when Im at the wingumuingu tea site, as I go to exit, there is a live chat that pops up. I said that I heard this was a scam and then she pastes some prewritten response "We are a legitimate company based in Arizona --- blahblahblah. Then I said "I've seen several sources say this" and she posts the same thing! Its WRONG. Again, you need to realize THE COMPANIES LIKE THIS ARE DOING ALL THAT THEY ARE ENTITLED TO DO, and that's all they will do. So you need to read every single word and have a freaking magnifying glass lol. I suggest that if you can't buy it in stores, don't get it. That's a lesson my mom taught me early on, and she was right.

PLEASE REEEEEAD THIS!*******;
Since this was redirected from Myspace, I ordered Fat Loss For Idiots, has anybody experienced fraud with that? It's www.fatloss4idiots.com. I got a confirmation to my email and then I received another email saying "Our third party creditor accidentally charged the card twice, youll be refunded soon" And I just remembered now so I need to check my credit card statement. PLEASE SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES WITH FL4I! I looked into it on Google and the reviews were great, but I need to hear the real people's response again! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

I feel that if you feel jipped...well you are a dumb ### for not reading the fine print FIRST. You are obviously an adult and you can read and you can see and you should i say again you SHOULD have enough common sense to know what the hell you are getting into before putting your money, whether it be $5 or $$500, into it. If you don't, well it would behoove you never to do something that stupid again. Learn from your mistake(s)...teach your kids...educate your friends and family... but don't try to convince other you were JIPPED if you were really just STUPID. READ BEFORE YOU BUY...

My wife ordered this under the "free trial". No problem with being charged for shipping, but when the $69.87 charge showed up...a different story. My wife did not see anything anywhere about a 2 week time frame for cancellations in order to stop further shipments and charges. She was able to contact the company and she was told to return the unused tea and our card would be credited back the $69.87. We also filed a fraudlent charge report with our bank. As of today, the $69.87 has been returned to our account.

Please, please, please DO NOT USE ULTRA LEAN GREEN! This stuff made me so sick after I used it for 3 days! I had such bad stomach pains that I had to miss 2 days of work and I could not even get out of bed. I went to the doctor and found out that I had a form of Intestinal Bowel Syndrome which can be caused by something you ate. I have NEVER had stomach pains before and it is so painful. Yes, I did lose 7 pounds but from being so sick! I had these pains severly for a few days, but it took 2 weeks to go away completely and I had to take meds! This is no dramatization! I am 5'7" and 160 pounds, I can stand to lose about 10 pounds, but this is not the way to do it...please everyone just diet and exercise!

I too decided to try the "Free trial" of Ultra Lean Green Tea. I received my tea. I never saw any statement regarding cancelling within 14 days, etc. although the company stated there was when I did call them. Today I received my 2nd shipment of the tea. There is no phone number to call on the package so I did find website on the internet and found so many complaints about this company! I called the number that was posted and supposedly they have cancelled my order. I did get a cancellation number and the name and I.D.# of whomever I talked to. I did state that if there were any more charges to my credit card after this last shipment I would not be responsible for them. She stated she closed my account and assured me there would be no more charges. We'll wait and see. I am notifying my credit card company today not to accept any charges from this company again!

I did the same thing. Purchased the trial for 14.95 and there you go they tacked on an additional 69.00. I called and they said that the trial was a 14 day trial and the full price was 69.00 the 14.95 was just for shipping and handling.

Well just like you I will never use my credit card again. What a rip off. It's so sad that people take advantage and rip folks off just to make a buck. Well..you live and learn and boy have I learned my lesson..

I have had a like experience as most of the complaints posted here, I was shocked when I got my credit card statement to find the $69.87 taken by this company !
I was unaware of the subscription aspect of the purchase of a free sample, didn't read the fine print (dumb).
After reading some of the complaints posted here I called my credit card Co. to stop any futher action from this company(panic mode).
I was told to try to resolve this with them and given a phone # for the Ultra Green Lean Co. [protected]), and told if they would not resolve this that thay would (thank God).
I called and they aggreied to close my subscription and refund my money within 14 days.
The person I spoke to was pleasent and helpfull so with fingers crossed I will wait and see.
If they don't live up to it my credid card Co. promised they would get my money back.
I hope this is helpfull information!

URGENT! Everybody be aware of this outrageous SCAM. Do NOT order the Lean green tea EVER!
There is no warning anywhere to be found on the container about the return policy and when you try to cancel the automatic delivery, they put you on hold for 28 minutes! The product does NOTHING! It tastes really bad and even worse when you end up paying $71.90 for 30 tea packets. I returned my second unwanted container with the following note: "This is a SCAM, you should be ashamed of yourselves". Are there any Goverment agencies watching over these fraudulent companies?

I ordered the green tea, because they wrote on their website, 14 day free trial for $6.95. They were to send me the product 2-3 business days. I received the tea 3 weeks later, so by then they had charged my credit card $6.95 plus $69.87. I called to complain but they said it was too late, that if I wanted to cancel I had to cancel during the 14 day trial. Which I tried to explain to them, that I only received the tea after the 14 day trial! Then they said that my next shipment for $69.87 was on its way, which I never consented. THey said that it was automatic, they deduct $69.87 from my credit card every month! On their website it doesn't state that they will send it to me automatic, without consent. What do I do?

Hey for all of you who were charge 69.87 each month for the Ultra Lean Green tea product " You know the one they claim that oprah was crazy about, the same one you only wanted a trial sample. You have to call : [protected] and ask that they credit you the non othorized cherge for that product, otherwise you will carge a complaint the the Consumer protection agency.

careful they are in Utah, and the time is not the same we have in Montreal.

Good Luck!

I am a Canadian resident and I too went on the ad from Facebook. I changed my mind after inputting my credit info...like a dope and exited the website. Most online shopping ads require you to click on a SUBMIT icon or CONFIRM ORDER or something, but not this one. To read the Terms & Conditions, you must go onto a different page. The entire ad is VERY misleading and bordering on false advertising. In Canada, the product is stopped and held at the border because it is a Food Product, so you don't even get the 'sample' for a month or more but then WHAM, your credit card is debited $69.00 before you even get the item, which I didn't think I had even ordered! You get NO confirmation of having ordered it through your email or nothing. So I found this website, thankfully...waited on hold and BLASTED the first person who answered. When she said, "I can't do anything our system is down." I blasted her again and demanded her Manager or Supervisor. 'JAN' came on the line and she got a tongueful of excrement too. She told me the situation pertaining to their unawareness of the difficulty they would have shipping this product across the border, apologized and said that I would be refunded for the 1st $69 charge and would also credit me for the SECOND charge ...WHAT...I've been charged again? I went beserk again and I said, I thought your system was down? She says, Oh...mine isn't. They aren't networked? ###. They hope you'll call back or not bother to hold. I told them I'd call them every 30 seconds until someone cancelled everything to do with me and their product! I was assured my credit card would be refunded both debits and that no further billing would occur. She assumed I hadn't received my product yet because I was in Canada. I had just got the first parcel and never opened it. I wrote REFUSED RET TO SENDER on the package and took it back to the post office who accepted it and sent it back at no charge to me. We'll see if my card is credited, if not...my husband contacted the VISA company (he works for the bank the card is through) and reversed them anyway, which you all should do as YOU HAVEN'T SIGNED ANYTHING authorizing payment. As long as it is within the month you had the debit, you can reverse the payment. Because you didn't sign for it. Good Luck Peeps!

The same thing happened to me. I was charged 69.87 on Sept. 4. I called [protected] and actually was put through to someone. I was assurred that the amount would be removed in 8 days. It has now been 1 month and the charge remains on my account. I have tried calling the number above for 3 days now and I only get their answering machine. I called my credit card company and disputed the charge. They are going to remove it. I would advise the rest of you to do the same. If enough people file disputes with their credit card companies, the credit card companies will take action. Ultra Lean Green is a big rip-offf and they should be sued!

I have tried calling both numbers ALL DAY and no one answers! I have been on hold for a total of 3 hours. They have taken nearly $300 out of my bank account and I have never received anything but the initial 14 day trial pack. How do they justify $300 for not sending anything since the trial pack? And the best part is that everytime I am on hold for approx 10 minutes... the connection gets conveniently static. How am I to cancel an account with them if I cannot get in touch with them? I am going to sue the crap out of this company!

What is also interesting - the bottom of their page "Terms & Conditions", they SPELL out the NUMERICAL amounts. So if it was written how we normally see numbers, your eyes would scan down and see things like "$74.00" or "30 days" or "$69.87" - and then you would REALLY read this fine print.

But because it's printed like "seventy four dollars" "thirty days" "sixty nine dollars and eighty seven cents", we aren't reading it as a cost to us, just possible legal terms we don't want to pay attention to.

Very sneaky Ultra Lean.

And I don't think it's Facebook's fault at all. It's our job as the consumer to find out what the stipulations are.

This is the most horrible internet scam, diet scam that I have ever fell into!
I am so freaking upset right now. I just got my second shipment after I have already cancelled, and they said there was no RECORD of it was so ever! And I have been charged 69.87$ I demanded my money put back into my account, and she battled with me, then I said well if I return it give me my money back!
She said in that case yes! Just write return to SENDER! Horrible, I am absolutely mortified of what has happened. No more!
Guess that taught me a lesson.
Good luck.
