I have been a member of US Law Shield for a few years now and I am extremely satisfied with their services
I have been a member of US Law Shield for a few years now and I am extremely satisfied with their services. The peace of mind that comes with knowing I have legal protection in case I ever need it is invaluable. The monthly fee of less than $30 is a small price to pay for the coverage it provides.
Not only does US Law Shield cover legal fees, bail, and expert witness costs, but they also offer a wide range of training opportunities. The information they publish and distribute is also very helpful and informative.
Thankfully, I have never had to use my firearm in a self-defense situation, but knowing that I have US Law Shield backing me up gives me confidence. It is like having cheap insurance that can potentially save me from a lifetime of legal troubles.
I highly recommend US Law Shield to anyone who owns a firearm. The peace of mind and the added benefits of training and information make it well worth the investment.
Be careful with this place they took money from my credit card without my permission!
Be careful with this place they took money from my credit card without my permission! They should not be allowed to make a transaction without any permission.
Impossible to cancel
Impossible to cancel. My mother signed me up without my knowledge and I am continually billed even though I have made numerous attempts to cancel it! It's a useless “service" in my opinion.
I have been a member for almost 4 years
I have been a member for almost 4 years. I have called them a few times just review the process in case of emergency. The receptionist and the attorneys have always been gracious with their time and responses. I have accidentally called the emergency number and ended the call, an attorney call me back in just a few moments to be sure that I was not having an emergency. The fees are dirt cheap for good peace of mind. ($10-15 a month.) If you actually decide to carry a firearm know the basics of the law have an attorney.
They led me to believe that I had coverage after accepting my credit card during a WV seminar
They led me to believe that I had coverage after accepting my credit card during a WV seminar. Weeks went by without so much as an email or phone call. My bank records did not show a payment so I called for a status. They said that my credit card account number was rejected. It turned out that they tried processing a card that wasn't mine. They had my correct email, phone number, and address, yet there was no attempt to contact me. Meanwhile, I was under the impression that I was covered. I wouldn't trust this service if this is how they handle a mistake on their part, especially if it was under serious legal circumstances.

I choose the cheaper plans for both US LAW Shield and *** which provides the best coverages for me. It seems a common complaint about USLAW Shield is the apparent unauthorize renewal fee charges. I simply called and ask not to be charged for the renewal because I wanted to adjust coverage. In order to avoid such renewal charges, I make my initial payment using one credit card. Then, I log in and submit another credit card which I switch to default. I then remove the credit card I used for my initial purchase. Now the default credit card has only about $25.00 credit. This is my way of avoiding the apparent unauthorize renewal fee charges.

This may be a good company but never got the chance to find out. After completing a concealed carry class my wife was “sold" on U.S. Law Shield. She gave them $151 on a credit card that was to be held for 14 days to decide if you wanted their services or not. They processed the payment immediately! When we called for a refund it was not processed. We called again 10 days later and they provided a refund for only $109. We called back and were told that $19.95 was non-refundable and the approximate other $20 was kept because the service was prorated for 10 days. This was never explained and, more importantly, was told that they would not process the payment for 14 days. This is an unacceptable way to do business! My wife said, “I guess this was a $40 learning experience". I believe this will cost this company much more the the $40 they basically stole from us as I will make sure to share our short experience with U.S. Law Shield.
My fiance and I attended a concealed carry class in Cleveland, OH in Nov 2020. During our class, the instructor had a rep from US Law Shield of Ohio give a presentation. The presentation given was ok, but was bordering on fear mongering. He mentioned over and over if you used your concealed carry in self defense you'd go to jail and how much money it would cost to get good representation in court, etc. The presentation reminded me of one of those "help I've fallen and I can't get up" commercials you see on the air channels, that suggest death and doom to all who don't buy whatever product they're trying to sell. The rep also included a story about how he approached and de-armed a man who threatened him with a gun...after we were just taught never to approach an individual with a gun and also to flee if at all possible. He suggested that he acted that way because he was young and reckless, but when asked if he would do it differently, he essentially said no. The "deal" being given to the class was only available that day while the rep was there, so many folks felt pressured to sign up without being able to do proper research. The whole time, the idea of being given a sales pitch during a concealed carry class felt very wrong and inappropriate. I was very suspicious of US Law Shield because I was being pressured to sign up without being given the time to do proper research. In the end, my fiance decided to sign up so I signed up for the monthly plan, thinking I could cancel it by the end of the month if necessary. When I got home, my fiance and I did some research and found some articles and other reviews suggesting US Law Shield is known for pressuring concealed carry students into signing up. Additionally, some suggested that they pay a nice amount to the class instructors for each person who signs up. And, in 2015 they were facing a lawsuit in Texas because of this. We also found that US Law Shield does not provide "per diem" coverage - in other words, if you've lost your job because you used a weapon on someone else or because you're in court, US Law Shield doesn't provide a daily living stipend. Also, you don't have a choice of your attorney, you are simply given one. Based on these major points and my previous experience, I decided to cancel my membership before it auto-renewed. It was very easy to call and cancel the membership. It took me approximately 5 mins. The rep on the phone didn't try to convince me otherwise or give me a better deal, she simply confirmed that I wished to cancel, completed the cancellation for me, and told me when my last day of coverage would be. For that, I was very pleased and considered giving them a 4 star. I would suggest to folks considering US Law Shield, especially in a classroom setting, to consider doing your research before signing up - even if it means you end up paying slightly more because you missed that "deal".
I purchased this ccw insurance a year ago when I got my ccw permit. Recently they took another year's payment out of my credit card. I did not authorize this nor did they give me any kind of notice before hand. The only notice I received was after they took the money. I emailed them by return email asking them what this charge was all about. All I got back was an automatic response that opened a case file. They have ignored that inquiry. I sent in another inquiry about the first question and about ignoring the inquiry. Again, I have heard nothing. I am soliciting help from the ComplaintsBoard.com to contact US Law Shield and refund my money. I don't trust them or their business practices. If they ignore a simple request like mine it seems to me they will ignore a request in event of a shooting--heaven forbid.
