My husband and I went into the ups store and ask for help shipping 2 fishing poles to Fl. Lavette the employee took the poles, we thought to measure them. Brings them back to us packaged up. Which we NEVER ask her to do. When the bill came it was $57.?, we ask for what since it only cost $22.? for the shipping. We were informed that it was for the packaged, THAT WE NEVER ASK FOR!We ask for an itemized bill, but they refused to give us one. We ask what we could do because it was to much. She said it would be $34.55 that we owed for materials. She called the store owner and he talk to my husband Kevin. Kevin tried to reason with him because since we never ask for her to pack them, that we would pay for the boxes she used. The owner lied to my husband and said that every box in the store cost $15.00 and we would have to pay the $34.55. I feel since we NEVER ask for her to package them that we should not have to pay for that service. We were told that if we did not pay he would call the police on us, so we called them while we were in the store. When the officer came he said it would be easier to pay the money than file a complaint to get our money back. They did give us an itemized receipt after the officer came. So I am filing with everyone I can. We never ask for the packaging service, and seriously $34.55 for 2 boxes and packing peanuts.One box was a 10x10x48 for $4.99 and the other was a 10x10x10 for $1.28. I brought the box home, took the peanuts out and the poles fit fine in the one box. There was no reason to use 2 boxes, and not even a wal-mart sized bag of packing peanuts. I feel that we were taken advantage of, and lied to, and way over charged for a service that we did not ask for.
