I would like to make a complaint about Nancy, the store manager at the 4660 W. Irving Pk, Chicago location. I had mistakenly left home without my wallet but with my checkbook as I went to a dental appt. I only realized it when I went to pay for my sandwich at a Subway but the person allowed my to punch in my cc info manually to pay for it. I then stopped at this Jewel to pick up flowers for a sick friend thinking I could do the same there or pay with a check. I picked out a bouquet that was $9.99 but the gal in floral spent 10 min rewrapping and making it look beautiful. Went to the service counter and explained the situation, asked if I could write a check, showed Nancy the name on my check matched my name on my cell phone info. She would not allow it, she could not make an executive decision to allow it for a measly $11! I was going to drive home to get my wallet and return but it was snowing heavily so I decided not to. Not only did she probably have to waste the bouquet and throw away as I never returned, but she lost a long time Jewel customer because of $11. It's hard to believe a little Subway sandwich shop would accommodate me but not the neighborhood Jewel store that I used to do my shopping at but will no longer :(
Desired outcome: I don't know if there is one but Nancy is not a good manager
Jewel-Osco - customer service
Hello,
Let me start by saying thank you for all of the new improvements you've made to the store. I especially want to say thank you to the store manager at this location for stocking a few select items I requested. I really do appreciate it and want him to know that.
There really are some good things that you do at this store (smile).
There is one incident that just took place on Friday, 6/7/19 at 6:46 pm (transaction number [protected]) that really bothered me. After waiting in line at the customer desk, I told Carol, the clerk on duty at the time, that I wanted to purchase a 7 day cta/pace pass for $33..00. Carol pproceeded to process the purchase just fine. But when Carol was done updating my transit pass, Carol handed me back my card. However, what upset me was the manner in which Carol handed me back my transit card. Carol said in a very nasty, condescending and disrespectful manner:
"Put that away."
That is exactly what Carol said to me. She DIDN'T say "thank you...here is your card." Or perhaps just, "Thank you!" I really was offended by Carol's demeanor and told her so. But Carol just ignored me and waited on the next customer in line. I told Carol that I would have someone from the corprate office speak to her about her disrespectful behavior and left the store.
I'd really appreciate it if you would have a word with Carol about this incident. I really don't think she realizes how offensive her behavior with me was...yet alone care.
I and my family have shopped st Jewel for generations. It is one of the few pleasures I enjoy during the week shopping there. I just hope that Carol will also participate in creating a positive shopping experience.
I know I can count on you to effectively communicate this to Carol and all will be fine.
Again, thank you, Jewel, for all you do. I do not take it for granted. I think I speak for the entire community by saying we really appreciate your being here.
Sincerely,
Ms. Reegis McLaine
