Went to use a self-checkout register in your store last night. I scanned my card and followed the prompts. I was asked a second time to scan my card and follow the prompts. Figured the system didn't get my information the first time. These things happen. Normally the debit card isn't charged a second time, but tonight mine was.
I had a very small amount of money left on my debit card so when charged a second time I was left with a balance. Matt said I needed to pay the balance. Another employee (I don't know her name) came right over. Three times she said I owed a balance, and three times I told her I was overcharged. Three times she said that it couldn't be because the screen showed I owed a balance - that I didn't have enough money on my debit card.
I told her I wasn't going to pay it because I already paid. She quickly moved the groceries away from me. I told her that the security cameras can verify what I said. She didn't contact anyone and expressed zero empathy. I was really ticked off by then.
I called my bank but had to move completely away from self-checkout because I firmly believe Matt was eavesdropping. My bank representative, Raven, verified what I told your employees. I was informed that I couldn't do anything about disputing the transaction until later on today.
I made the employees aware I had proof of the second charge. The woman told me to just come back the following day and pick up the groceries. She knew I had very little money. I made a point to tell her that. She said it wasn't her problem that what happened to me happened.
As I was leaving the store I told her she all but accused me of lying and to not do it again. Actually, it looks like she really did. She was talking to Matt as I was leaving your store.
If she wants to comment on my behavior, she can also admit that she overrode me every time I explained what happened.
I was out of food and needed groceries.
I have two proven disabilities - bipolar disorder with features of anxiety and post traumatic stress disorder. This requires my taking daily morning and evening prescribed medications with food. It's crucial to eat complete meals. If not, the following things happen: sleeplessness, anxiety, panic attacks, loss of equallibrium, nausea, light headedness, irritability, severe headaches. I also break out in sweats. It takes between 48 to 72 hours to restabalize and missing one meal is all it takes to get thrown off.
Some of these things are starting and that scares me.
Some people don't understand that they will never know who their customers are. It doesn't matter how often or length of time, people in any capacity of customer service never fully know their customers and how easy it is to lose them.
The service from these two employees is unacceptable. It is less than substandard. When people behave in this manner than it is very likely they do it to other customers. Hard to say if associates like I've mentioned change. Usually not. Can't depend on it. And that is coming from someone who has over thirty plus years customer service and management experience.
Jewel-Osco - seven sundays muesli cereal
We are a frequent shopper of jewel osco. Today, I was excited to find the above product. I purchased it at costco, but they are not carrying that item anymore. I was very excited to find them at jewel osco, even though they are more expensive and smaller size, I bought 4 bags, when I got home, I transferred 2 of the same kind in a container. To my disappointment, I found 3 from the 4 bags I purchased were way expired, that disappointed me as I ended up with 1 good bag. I think someone need to look at this matter.
Jewel-Osco - the use of w.i. c coupons
On Dec 3, 2018, at 7:42 p.m. I went into the Jewel's located at 2031 N Main St. in Wheaton, Il to purchase 3 quarts of milk and two cans of apple juice using WIC coupons. I have purchased these items before at this location just a few weeks ago. when tried to use these coupons today the cashier by the name of Barbara said that she wasn't sure if I could use the coupon because it said 1% or skim milk and all the store had was 2% milk. So she called over a lady whom I am assuming was the nighttime customer service supervisor and she explained to her about the milk and the supervisor had a real nasty attitude and told me "I couldn't get the milk because it was 2%" and I explained to her that I came in there before an I got the 2%milk and she said" well too bad because it states skim milk or 1%" and I told her that there was none in the quart size and she said " there was nothing that she could do and she could not give it to me because the system would not let her" and I know that she was lying because it went through just a few weeks ago and she didn't even try. She talked to me like I was a child and I felt that it was because I am black. She didn't try to accommodate me in any type of way and then she walked away and did not apologize. I felt very disrespected in front of the rest of the people in line behind me. Sorry that I didn't get the supervisors name but I am quite sure you can find out. Something needs to be done about the use of WIC coupons and how people are treated using them.
