I tried dealing with the local manager after they refused to take back starter/solenoid (paid approx $110.00 for starter with full lifetime warrantee) which I think broke plastic solenoid part likely cracked due to poor workmanship and the solenoid was bad. I bought a new solenoid at Autozone, put it with the starter and it worked great - Store 1561 continued to refused to return any portion of my solenoid purchase again maintaining that I turned it to hard. the person who was putting it on the car has put in between 40-50 starters and never overtightened. I think it was a defective part and was willing to have them just give me $20 back as that is what they said a solenoid cost them they just didn't have any in stock - they refused. iI will not go to O'Reily's as long as Brian is the manager

Which did you buy, the starter or the solenoid. These are two completely separate parts. The warranty period is also not a full lifetime warranty. It is a limited lifetime warranty, which really doesn't cover much. You figured your solenoid was bad so you replaced it with a competitor's part, then returned to the first store to defect return your parts which they refused...
Best bet next time is to have a certified mechanic install the part for you, as this is an easier way to return defective parts if needed
