Recently we had moved into our home after being renovated because of a house fire. We moved back in February of this year and had nothing but trouble with our contour boxes since we moved back into our home. We have gone through 2 contour boxes in the past six months. The only thing that was told to us it could be the box going out or the lack of cable signal to the box itself. I am getting tired of the same old excuse because of the poor service and equipment Cox Cable offers to its customers. We have tried numerous times getting the equipment to work, but it seems equipment failure is inevitable every time. After talking with a customer support/tech support person, we have tried to repeat the same steps over again that were done in the first place. This seems as if the support person is just reading a script to us - not really trying to solve a problem. After putting a work request in the tech support person informed us no field technician would be able to come out and look at the equipment until Wednesday (today is Monday). To me, if I am paying an outrageous sum of money for a substandard service, I should get service support earlier than 2 days. The only reason why we have not switched to satellite is because there is no good line of sight for this to occur. I am beginning to think Netflix and Hulu will be viable alternatives because of the poor service and outrageous prices for completely substandard service.
