I was terminated as service center manager of the valvoline instant oil change in Henderson, KY. I worked for the company for almost 2 years and was manager for the last seven months. Valvoline terminated me for what they say was a procedure violation. But my Area manager promoted me to manager, gave me the keys to the store, and expected me to know everything without the proper training. i did the best i could then my store gets a visit fromm upper mgmt. who informed me they no longer needed me because i wasnt doing things right.

In my experience from working with valvoline they will try to sell you things you dont need, they will sell you services and not even do them.

every night when i would call in my daily sales numbers i would be threatened if they were not up to par. in my opinion you dont just start firing store managers if their supervisors are not performing the work duties they are obligated to such as training nd so on.

Hard to believe that they fired you for what amounts to nothing. Are you sure something else didn't go wrong? Perhaps you can elaborate on what the violation you received was.

They always tried to sell me something I felt like I didn't need, so I stopped going there. I go to walmart now, they do a good job.

I have every reason to believe you were terminated without cause. Just recently all employeess of Valvoline had to sign a caluse that they are "subjec to termination without any cause." A family relative of mine was employed for them for a year; they cotinually switched him from one shop to another as that was where the "good" workers were needed. He asked for a stinking $1 raise and was denied. Showed up to work even tho he was extremely sick - sweating, pain in chest, unable to breathe - and asked to go home so that he could be seen - and the answer was "NO - we're too busy, you have to stay." The day prior a car owner "
gunned" his motor when simply asked to turn on the lights (DUH!) 'causing oil to spill all over the worker's face as well as into his mouth - which may well be the cause of his feeling sick with chest painks and coughing up "junk" all morning. This is how Valvoline treats their workers and needs to be looked into by the Laborforce. I know more peoppoe who have walked off their jobs @ Valvo"lean" than I can count on my fingers - speaks volumes!

Your relative should contact the employee reporting hotline 800-ashland. Many of the grievances you listed above on behalf of your relative are not in line with Valvoline Instant Oil Change's Environmental, Hazards and Safety Protocol. Additionally light checks per our Super Pro 10 guidelines are performed prior to the oil changes starting I am not sure how your relative would have ingested oil unless the oil cap was removed prior to the vehicle being shut off. I am sorry for my skepticism regarding the incident you reported on this message board but knowing our System called Super Pro and the training all employees receive, I am not convinced the above scenario was plausible. Something is being left out of the explanation your relative provided to you as it relates to their termination. Again encourage your relative to call 800 ashland if they felt they were wrongly terminated? Good luck.
