JacksSmallEngines Review: Frustrating Backorder Delays and Lack of Stock
I recently had an experience with JacksSmallEngines and let me tell you, it was quite the ride. I placed an order on June 7th, thinking that I would receive my items within the promised 2-4 day shipping window. However, I quickly received a backorder notice just two days later, stating that my items would not be shipped for another week. I was disappointed, but I figured that these things happen and I would just have to wait a little longer.
However, every week since then, I have received the same notice - another week of delay. I am now on my fifth backorder delay and I am starting to lose my patience. It is frustrating to think that I could have ordered from somewhere else and received my items by now.
To make matters worse, I placed another order with JacksSmallEngines on July 6th for a basic idler pulley. And what do you know, I just received a backorder notice for that too! This time, they are estimating that it won't ship until the 22nd. I am beyond frustrated with this company and their lack of stock.
It is clear to me now that JacksSmallEngines does not actually have stock of the items they sell. Instead, they order what you order and hope for the best. This is not a reliable way to do business and I am disappointed that I fell for their "most items ship 2-4 days" line.
I understand that everyone wants to save a couple of dollars, but in this case, it has ended up costing me weeks if not months of delays. And who knows if they will ever actually ship anything that I have ordered from them. It is a shame that a company like this can stay in business with such poor practices.

I recently made a purchase from JacksSmallEngines for an item that cost me $69. I paid for it on [protected] and was eagerly waiting for it to arrive. However, after three days, I received an email from them stating that they were waiting for the part from their supplier, Homelite. I was a bit disappointed but decided to wait patiently.
After a week, I still hadn't received any updates from them, so I decided to contact Homelite myself on 11-11-2021. To my surprise, I was informed that the part was in stock and would be shipped within 24 hours. This made me wonder why JacksSmallEngines had not yet received the part.
Feeling frustrated, I decided to send them a stern message, and after some back and forth, they agreed to cancel my order and refund my money within 3 to 5 business days. However, after waiting for 7 business days, I still hadn't received my refund. As a 70-year-old, I needed the part urgently to maintain my yard, and I couldn't wait any longer. I had to open a claim with my bank to get my money back.
I must say that my experience with JacksSmallEngines was not a pleasant one. I felt like they were trying to work on my money for as long as they could get away with it. It's really disappointing to see such behavior from a business. As a result, I had to order the part from somewhere else, which was a hassle.
In conclusion, I would not recommend JacksSmallEngines to anyone. They are scammers who do not care about their customers. Their business practices are total trash, and I would advise anyone to stay away from them.

I gotta say, I was pretty excited when I found JacksSmallEngines online. I needed some new equipment for my yard and they seemed to have everything I needed. I placed my order and waited for it to arrive. But then, just two days later, I got an email from them asking me to call before they could process my order. I was a little confused, but I gave them a call.
And that's when things got weird. They told me that they needed a copy of my driver's license before they could process my order. What?! I mean, I get that they want to make sure there's no fraud, but why didn't they tell me that when I placed my order? Or even in the email they sent me? It just seemed really shady to me.
I told them that I wasn't comfortable sending them a copy of my driver's license and they said that was fine, but they couldn't process my order without it. I was pretty upset about the whole thing. I mean, my husband and I are both lawyers and we've never heard of a business asking for a copy of someone's driver's license. It just seemed really dishonest to me.
In the end, we decided to cancel our order. We didn't want to risk giving them our credit card info if they were going to be that shady about things. But now we've lost three days in getting the equipment we needed and we still don't have it. It's just ridiculous.
I really wanted to like JacksSmallEngines, but this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

According to their website, the parts were in stock and would be shipped within two days. However, that turned out to be a complete lie.
The very next day, on June 25th, I received an email from Jack's saying that one of the parts was on backorder. I was disappointed, but I figured it wouldn't be too long before the part was back in stock. However, on July 3rd, I received another email saying that the part was still on backorder. By this point, I was getting frustrated. I needed those parts to fix my pressure washer, and it seemed like Jack's was just stringing me along.
On July 8th, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I sent an email to Jack's asking where my parts were, and I told them that I was going to contact my credit card company to stop payment if I didn't hear back from them soon. To my surprise, just fifteen minutes later, I received an email saying that my parts had shipped. I was relieved, but also a little annoyed that it took a threat to get them to finally send my order.
The parts finally arrived on July 12th, which was a full 19 days after I had placed my order. I was not impressed with the shipping time, especially considering that Jack's had promised two-day shipping. To make matters worse, when I opened the package, I found that the head gasket was bent in two places. I was not happy.
In the end, I decided to order a new head gasket directly from the Briggs factory. It cost me less money than the one I had ordered from Jack's, and it arrived in just a few days. I had a terrible experience with JacksSmallEngines. I ordered a gas cap for my generator and it took them 9 whole days just to tell me that they had no idea when it would be shipped. I was so frustrated! When I called to inquire about my order, the guy on the phone told me that he could yell at the warehouse workers to speed up the process, but they would just look at him like he was stupid. What kind of customer service is that?
I asked if there was any way to cancel my order and the guy said, "Yep, I've just canceled it and you should get an email in a few minutes." He didn't even care about my order or why I needed my part or how long I might have to wait for it. It was like he just wanted to get me off the phone as quickly as possible.
To make matters worse, the website claims that the part will be mailed within 24 hours of it being received in the warehouse. But that's a complete lie! My experience proves that they don't care about their customers or their orders. They just want to make money and move on to the next sale.

Disappointing Service and Overpriced Hardware from Jack's Trailer Hitch Kit
So, I was lookin' for a trailer hitch kit for my ZTR lawnmower and I came across Jack's. They had a hitch for $23.00, but I was surprised to find out that it didn't come with the four carriage bolts and nuts needed to mount it. I mean, seriously, who sells a hitch without the hardware to mount it? But, I decided to go ahead and order the bolts and nuts I needed from Jack's. It cost me an extra $13.84, which is like $1.73 per bolt and $1.73 per nut.
When the box arrived, I checked the packing list and it said that it had the hitch, four nuts, and four bolts. But, when I opened the box, I only found three bolts. What the heck, Jack's? You had one job and you blew it.
I had to spend 45 minutes going to the hardware store to find a matching carriage bolt. Luckily, Ace Hardware sells the same bolt for only $0.33.
I gotta say, this is pretty lousy service. Jack's doesn't include the mounting hardware, which is an extra $2.00 at retail, and then they charge five times the retail price for plain-vanilla carriage bolts and nuts. And, to top it off, they shorted me on my order.
Jack's website says that their motto is "After the Sale, It's the Service That Counts!" But, I think it should be "First we treat you bad - then we take your money."
I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.

I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with my experience with JacksSmallEngines. I ordered a 5 pack of gaskets for my Briggs 5 hp engine on June 1st, and it's been a whole month and I still haven't received them. At first, they told me they were out of stock and expected to receive them on June 11th. But then they changed the receive date to June 20th. I was getting pretty frustrated, so I sent them an email to see if they had 5 individual ones in stock. But I didn't get a response. So I went to their website and did a chat. I knew they had 9 individual pieces in stock, so I asked if they could send me 5 individual pieces instead of a 5 pack. Jason, their customer service rep, told me they would only do that if I paid the individual price. He couldn't adjust the price for me.
I mean, come on. There are literally millions of those engines in service, and they don't stock a 5 pack of gaskets for it? That seems pretty ridiculous to me. And by the time I receive my order, it will have taken a whole month to fill. That's just not acceptable.
I've sent them 2 more emails since then, and they keep changing the shipping date. First it was pushed back to June 30th, and then to July 9th. At this point, I'm just fed up. I cancelled my order and placed it with another company who shipped my parts the same day I ordered them. Let's see how long it takes [censored] engines to refund my money they took over a month ago and never shipped my order.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend JacksSmallEngines to anyone. They're slow to ship, don't respond to emails, and keep changing the shipping date. It's just not worth the hassle.

I had a really bad experience with Jack's Small Engines and I don't think I'll ever order from them again. Their customer service is just terrible. I ordered a product from them and it took three weeks for me to get any kind of update on my order. According to their website, it should have taken 2 to 10 days to receive the product if it was on back order, but mine wasn't. I even called them before I placed my order to make sure that the product was in stock and they told me it was.
When I called to get an update on my order, I was told that it was in their warehouse and would be shipped by the end of the week. But the end of the week came and went and I still hadn't received my order. When I called back, I was told that my order was in but there were no updates on when it would be shipped. This happened multiple times and I was getting really frustrated.
I asked if they could give me a $50 credit for the inconvenience and the customer service representative hung up on me. I couldn't believe it. It was so rude. I finally received my product after waiting for a month. It was just a terrible experience overall. I would definitely avoid this place at all costs. Their customer service is not #1 like they claim it to be.

Ordered a drawer cover for my refrigerator on 8/28 and now a month later have still not received it. Just like everyone else tried to contact them and no reply. Jacks Small Engines customer support is VERY POOR. I have ordered an assortment of parts to repair one of my clients lawn tractors on 16 July with all parts saying were in stock. Its now 25 Aug and 3 request for a status and all you get from them is their standard answer "Shipped directly from manufacturer, Chat or call for an update" I have asked all 3 times to give me their expected parts arrival from their vendor and as of yet I have not received anything from them. In an attempt to not give my business to Amazon and thinking I was supporting a smaller business, I decided to try Jacks. But rest assured this will be the LAST time that I will ever order anything from them and I would suggest the same thing with anyone else that is considering ordering parts from them. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE Customer response.

We brought our pressure washer to Jacks Small Engine in the middle of June for a repair. There were some hurdles with getting everything started (timing for them to take a look at it and timing on our end for the warranty). *** sent over the pump for them to make the repair and addressed it ATTN: Ron per JSE's request. We reached out to see what the status was and they claimed they did not have the part. They said they receive thousands of deliveries so it could be anywhere if they did in fact have it. They requested the tracking number which we obtained & provided (received in by an employee Cosner). It took them 11 days to find the part that was somewhere within their facilities. We had spoken to Ron & Justin to confirm the tracking information and we were told they would continue to look for it and get back to us.
After a few days I called again and they finally found it. I was told they would be working on it that day (7/21) and the woman I spoke with would have Ron call me back about the delays and lack of any kind of follow up on their part. By the end of the day I hadn't heard anything so I called back. I spoke with the same woman and she was incredibly apologetic and told me Ron did not want to speak with me. She said she had no words for this and he was refusing to pick up the phone. I was shocked. We are new to the area and will need plenty of lawn equipment in our lifetime but I am shocked that supporting local has led to this level of customer service. I had mentioned that the manufacturer told me she was in awe what they were charging me to complete this simple task, I did not go in demanding a discount but to speak on my experience with their lack of follow up and how they lost my part for 11 days and I had to continuously check in. I still have not received my pressure washer back nor have I received any kind of call from their GM, Ron. I will make sure to never support them again.

The website stated everything was availible and would take a week to receive it. My card was charged immediately and they did not send my items for 2 months. When i finally got my items one of them was just an empty bag with my item missing. The company will not return emails and there phones are on permanent wait(at least 2 hrs). DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! Biggest mistake I ever made. Ordered a lawnmower part over a month ago and have called several times and they don't answer phone calls. When I received the parts, there were some wrong parts. Shortly thereafter when I checked for the status of this order it was noted that the item was out of stock and awaiting the manufacturer delivery. As of two weeks ago the status is "Ready to be Shipped". What does this mean? If the item is ready to be shipped, why hasn't it been shipped. I am waiting for this item since 7/22 and today is 8/14. This is beyond acceptable. I have been trying to get a status on this order with no response from emails, message text, telephone calls or Chat's, and the online status continues to indicate "Ready to Ship". The charge for this item was charged to my credit card on 7/23. This company is totally unresponsive to its customers and does not answer phone calls with the exception of a recording that never gets answered. emails don't get answered and Chat's do not get answered. I will never do business with this company again.

I found Jack's online while searching for parts for a Robin Generator with an EY20 engine. Their website showed all the parts I needed. I ordered on April 30 and my card was charged $300+ CAD immediately. The order was to ship in 10 days. Two weeks later, I was told some parts were unavailable and got a partial refund due to exchange rates. Delivery dates kept getting pushed back. By June 23, 8 weeks later, they said all parts were unavailable. I was refunded, but short $27 CAD from the original charge. Despite requesting the difference, I've had no response. I won't use Jack's Small Engines again.

I ordered a part on June 1. When I received the part on June 15 and I sent this email: "I just received ORDER ? and it is not the right part. I checked your website and the picture of the part on the website matches the part I needed and I included a SCREEN SHOT of your website. I have attached pictures of the new part on the left and the old part on the right and you can see the difference. I have also attached pictures of the attachment heads which makes the part you sent unusable with my trimmer. And the original order confirmation confirming the part number was correct but again the part sent wasn't. I have already paid for this expensive part and I have been waiting over a month for it also so I am kind of unhappy the wrong one was sent seeing I need my hedge trimmer. Stuff is really growing. Please correct this ASAP." They say they get back to you in 24 hours. It is June 30 and not a single reply. I sent 2 more emails, sat on hold listening to music at least 3 times for 15 minutes each and never being able to leave a message, and went on their website to initiate another service ticket. I had ordered other parts like air and fuel filters and spark plugs and their prices were good and those general PM parts arrived in a timely fashion and I was happy with that order. This order I am not happy with and their CUSTOMER SERVICE pledge is an empty promise and if I could have given them a ZERO for their CS I would have. I am about to call the CREDIT CARD Company to see about stopping payment because of their TOTAL LACKING of being responsive like they pledge to do and have plastered all over their website and email solicitations.

Terrible Customer Service: My Experience with JacksSmallEngines
JacksSmallEngines is a company that I had the misfortune of doing business with. I ordered a starter for my mower on April 19th, 2010, and when I received it, it was defective. I was extremely disappointed with the product, and I immediately sent it back to them for a refund. However, it has been over two months now, and I have yet to hear from them regarding my refund. I have sent them three emails, but I have not received any response from them. I have also tried calling them five times, but I have never been able to get through to them as their lines are always busy.
I must say that I am extremely disappointed with the customer service of this company. They may have good prices, but at what cost? Their customer service is terrible, and they do not seem to care about their customers at all. I believe that they should charge a little more and hire more people to improve their customer service.
I would advise anyone who is considering doing business with JacksSmallEngines to check them out thoroughly before making any purchases. I would not recommend this company to anyone, and I regret ever doing business with them. I hope that they will improve their customer service in the future, but until then, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I then asked to speak to a supervisor, but unfortunately, they were not available. I left a voice message, but I have not received any response.

After a week, the status was still "ready to be shipped". I emailed their support several times and no answer. I called three times. Each time, support said that the generator would be shipped that day or next. The last call to support, two weeks later, support told me they could not locate the unit in their warehouse but the unit would be shipped in the coming two days. The unit is still "ready to be shipped" in their tracking system, and still no feedback from support.

Its been almost 2 months since ive ordered this part. They will not email me back or answer their phones. When they do im put on hold twice now and once waited 27minutes. I ordered a breaker for a Honda Generator on 4/21. Only after placing the order do they say its on backorder and won't be here for several weeks. That's fine, I get it, Covid has messed up all kinds of stuff. Finally gets here and is the wrong part; my fault, I ordered the wrong one. Waited and still no response about inquiry. Emailed a few more times just to get the runaround. Last email sent to me was on July 28th. The spring I ordered weights 12.7 ounces, meaning the spring was never in the package. The package was completely flat with no marking of anything ever being in it. When I contacted Jacks they said that they had nothing to do with it, and denied having anything to do with the***. the*** is Jack's Small Engines. Besides beating me out of my $20.00, they are more than likely beating a lot more people out of their money. Law enforcement should also be notified. Jacks was a third party vendor. Price was $49.50 +$3.09 (MA) state tax total $52.59. Item was shipped and received on 8/13. Opening the box I noticed a cut into the packing sleeve and the fabric of the cover. I requested an RMA and reclosed the box and shipped the item back same day 8/13 Please note the cut in the item was not along the box seam and I never removed the item from the shipping box. Cut was not caused from opening the box at my location. Jacks received the box on 8/17 Jack refunded $41.96 on 8/18 through *** I am requesting that an additional $10.63 be credited to my account as the item shipped was damaged at the vendor and I feel I should be made whole due to vendor error

Their answer was an automated email exactly like the first one I got, which didn't answer my question or my request. I would not have ordered it if it weren't "in stock" as I need it sooner than later. When you finally check in their site about the status of your order now there is a "disclaimer" stating that "out of stock items" are generally shipped between 2 to 10 days. First of all this should be stated at the very moment you place the order if the item is or is not in stock and give you a chance to decide whether or not to buy and not "after" you paid for it. Second is what the costumer paid for. $8.95 dollar for an envelope via UPS or USPS should travel 65 miles in three days? It is 15 days since I placed my order and 10 days since it was shipped and I'm still waiting! Emails are not answered and so this costumer like many others have to put up with this dishonesty. I say dishonesty because is the second time that this happened to me with Jack's.
