Vitacost customer service is useless. I have an auto ship item that showed it was shipped on Oct 9th. When I did not receive it by Oct 19th I called customer service and they said that the item had not shipped because I had to update the billing information, which is the same billing information on file. Then the agent told me that the item would not be shipped out till Monday and not delivered for another week.
When I order from Amazon, the difference is if a customer is disatisfied, the agent is empowered to take whatever action required to resolve the issue, such as shipping the product overnight since the error was on the Vitacost side as I was advised, on their site, that the item had shipped on Oct 9th, which was not true. If I had not called, I would not have known that I needed to re-enter my credit card information.
The agent and the supervisor I spoke with just kept repeating the same thing like robots! I will most likely cancel this autoship and look for a company that values its customers.

Pleasantly Surprised
I have had Vitacost.com on my radar for quite some time and hesitated to place an order due to all the negative reviews here, and the fact that they use OnTrac for deliveries (horrible experience with OnTrac in the past).
Late last week (Friday), I ordered a supplement, taking advantage of their low price, free shipping (met the $49 criterion) and 10% new customer discount. Well, my order arrived yesterday (Monday). The items arrived, all factory-sealed, and in perfect condition. The expiration date on each bottle confirms that the contents are from a recent batch. I set up alerts on my credit card account and the charge that Vitacost submitted was accurate. I won't need to interface with their customer service department for this order so I have no comment on them.
Great Place to Save Money
I have been using Vitacost for years and save a ton of money. If you open an account they will give you 20% off your first order of food, then after about every month or so they will email you with a code to get 20% off your order again provided your order is $50 with free shipping. Amazon sells a lot of food from independent sellers who charge a arm and a leg over what it should be. Lily's Dark baking chips (sugar free) for instance, an Amazon seller charging $14.99 for ONE package, VitaCost $5.39 after their 20% discount. Now that's saving money and there's many other instances on saving money with Vitacost.
Are their shipping customer service problems with VitaCost - on occasion, yes, but I've always been able to have them solved and with their immense discounts its well worth it.
Constantly improving
Even though I live in a metro area where food allergies are accommodated Vitacost offers me easy, fast ordering and a wide variety of products. I hung with this business for that reason through the shipping problems I originally experienced and one or two unhappy customer experiences. To their credit they have always refunded my money and are constantly improving. Logistics have improved dramatically and I now receive my shipments in perfect shape and within 5 days sometimes sooner. If you have a special diet or food allergies this is a great place to shop. I also get cents off coupons and they frequently run sales. I can search for products that fit my particular diet so don't have to weed through things I can't eat. I've been shopping here for about 5 years and feel comfortable saying this business is terrific

I've been buying from Vitacost for a number of years now. I am gluten-free. In my last sizable order, I purchased 10 lbs of flour, I thought was gluten-free. It was not. This was clearly MY mistake, that I owned. Nevertheless, as a one time special consideration, they refunded my money, AND had me keep the flour. Essentially that was $40.00 worth of consideration! What other company does that? PLUS my packages arrived in ONE day... with the most considerate packaging I've ever seen. Bottled hand soaps, liquids, & items in paper bags & boxes (like flour or starches) were also placed in re-useable sealed plastic bags, to eliminate the possibility of loss/mess/seepage. Those bags were not flimsy but extremely durable & functional to insure the safety of the product contained. Those are Great Business Practices. Mighty Impressive!
Vitacost Really Saves Me Money
I often use Vitacost to buy supplements and vitamins that would cost me MUCH MUCH MORE if I purchased them at my local health food store. In particular, I buy Garden of Life products-the Men and Women's Over-50 Multivitamin/Mineral supplements AND Garden of Life's RawFit, which is a non-whey based protein powder with supplements. At the health food store and at other online companies, Raw Fit retails for around $52, not including tax (if applicable). I recently purchased TWO Raw Fit containers for a total of $56! Free shipping! When I visit family in Wisconsin, I've had Vitacost shipped there; when I'm at home (duh!) obviously they ship to my home. I always get my order quickly. They also carry a variety of foods, flours, and other health care products. I've never been disappointed. I highly recommend Vitacost. I've never had to call Customer Service, so I can't review them.
Efficient & Easy To Work With
I ordered some Mongolian Fire Oil and Nature's Way Broad Spectrums from them and did so on a weekend. Monday morning the order was in the mail - FEDEX no less. The package delivered on time, but the manager where I am staying thought it was his and took it home. When I questioned him about it, he said it never delivered - not mine anyway. So, I called Vitacost and without any hassle at all, they offered to put another order in the mail immediately. When the manager brought in my package and apologized to me for not paying attention, I called Vitacost and explained what happened and they offered for me to keep the 2nd order as a "gift". It had already been scheduled to be picked up by FEDEX, but I was willing to return it to them and they said "No, please accept it as a gift". And I did.
Absolutely no complaints here! Will do business with this company again. Easy to communicate with and understanding.
Excellent Prices and Service
I discovered vitacost.com about six months ago and just received my third order from them. Each time I shop there, I do price comparisons across the web to see if I can get it anywhere else cheaper. Most of the time, for the things I buy (mostly essential oils), Vitacost wins in the price department. Then, there's the shipping. With this order, I wanted an accurate timeline since I always feel like it arrives quickly, but had never paid attention to how quickly. With this order, I checked out only minutes after checking out an Amazon Prime purchase (with free, two-day shipping). My Amazon order arrived yesterday. My Vitacost order (which qualified for free shipping thanks to their low threshold) arrived today. Free, three-day shipping without paying for such perks is an excellent example of great customer service! I have been nothing short of happy with Vitacost and will continue shopping there regularly in the future.

I didn't experience any issues with shipping delays (most orders come on the third day), products being "bad", or incorrect or missing items. This last shipment, I did not receive an item and two of the items were leaking. I stated I merely wanted a replacement for the missing item, but I wasn't terribly concerned with the leaking items (the tape they place over the lids and caps usually stops the problem). Within just a couple of hours overall for two e-mails, I had replacements for all three items preparing to be shipped.

I have been using Vitacost for like 8 months and never had any issues. Prices are amazing and delivery was always on time, but my latest order is the reason for this review. I made an order last week and it was supposed to be delivered on Monday. Nothing happened so on Tuesday I checked my tracking number to see the status of delivery and it said that it was left at my front door! I checked again all around the front of the house and there was nothing, asked my neighbor lady who is always outside did she see anything and she said nope, so I called Vitacost and they told me that they have to contact delivery company to see what happened and will get back to me. That was yesterday morning, just now I called them again and they said that delivery company was supposed to cal me and come out
Today, when I said I didn't hear anything from delivery guys she just issued a new replacement order and within minutes I received an email thanking me for my order and sure enough everything is being re-sent and I was not charged for anything. I've struggled to find an acceptable store for quality healthy groceries since moving from Washington state to Tampa. I can only get so much from Costco, so I've had to order from different online sources here and there.
After discovering Vitacost, the struggle finally ended! They have a remarkable selection of healthy food and household items that rarely make an appearance in stores. I placed my order and received it two days later in the midst of Covid, where everything has been slowing down. The package was put together so carefully with exceptional packaging methodology that I've never seen from other online stores like Target, Amazon, etc. I know it sounds weird, but I was blown away by the way they packed everything because it showed an excellence in the way they operate. Even the packing material used was high class! Lol.
I received a 20% off coupon for my first order as well as second order, plus it's free shipping which made the prices even better! My vitamins were priced lower than Amazon's price where I usually buy them. My toothpaste that I purchase from Target was also cheaper on Vitacost. There are surprisingly no membership fees; I'm still waiting for their to be a catch, because it's all too good to be true. I literally took time to seek out where I could place a review. They lie and told me they could not process the refund today. I have used Vitacost for years. On one of my recent orders, they cancelled my order, as apparently the coupon code used, wasn't supposed to be accepted by their computer. Since it was, they cancelled without letting their customers know.I AM DEEPLY OFFENDED that Vitacost has added a box when checking out, stating, "if you check this box, the you will allow the company to contact you regarding damaged and missing shipments. WOW! What a way to go...Is this the "New Vitacost" way...blame the customer for not checking a box, that allows the company to contact you regarding your order? There's always special attention to packaging liquid items and fragranced items separately which I appreciate very much. Food and supplements are not mixed in with laundry products and soaps. I had a problem with something leaking on to other items so I called customer service and they promptly replaced all items that were affected. I am pleased to recommend Vitacost to everyone.
Products are all good, but Fed Ex left the package on top of my mailbox,on a day when it was going to storm, 1/4 mile away from my house instead of driving up my lane. Used to get 5 stars from me. Long time steady customer. Suddenly my packages are not at my door and damaged inside. They always had superior packing materials. Just a few days ago I ordered a few things. Inside one plastic bag was a 1/2 gallon laundry detergent and a pricey bottle of nail polish remover. Typically they both would have heavy plastic tape around and across the lid. They would be in individual bags. This shipment had both items together with no packing material in the carton. They both were leaking inside the bag. A soapy smelly mess. Must have been tumbling around for miles. *** I went on site to return/replace I chose replace. I received no email reply. I phoned and the agent was snooty. Told me I had to photograph the mess and send in for approval. It did not mention that on the intake form. So I then went into the trash to retrieve it to do as they requested. Now I have to wait 10 days for approval. Im going to Whole Foods in the future. Much easier now that Vitacost isnt so special.

Vitacost Fraudulent Customer Service
So I made the mistake of ordering so many items particularly cleaning products/soaps, etc but unfortunately one of the packages was damaged as Vitacost was notified by the carrier, without asking me they send a replacement, I was notified by email saying they are sending a replacement, within 5 minutes, I replied to the email asking if they can refund me instead! Guess what, didnt hear from them until 24 hours later, how convenient and they told me package is already shipped but then without asking me again, they placed a return request! These customers services reps are ridiculous, still didnt refund me but placed a request for return through the carrier?
I had placed about 7 orders and half the stuff I didnt even need and my credit card bill was horrendous and I decided to send them many items back and guess what, these people's return system is horrible, they kept sending me return labels with RA numbers but didnt specify the labels for what order or what items, etc, very confusing! And, then the reps didnt even send return label for remaining items and many items I didnt even ask to return but instead on the system it said "all the items are refunded and replaced." Which made so much confusing and as I didnt know what RA belonged to what order number and when I tried to speak to tons of reps via chat, they are so incompetent and dumb and didnt even help at all! And, I had 7 orders and I didnt ask for return labels for all the items from each order as they had listed online, such freakin a big lie!
Then, I finally made a list of order numbers and listed items for each and sent it by return label and I categorized them, which took forever, no thanks to them!
And, now I have to wait for 3-4 weeks for refund and I basically spoon fed them how to process the return by order # and items listed next to it and placed in separate zip lock bags!
These people's return system is just stupid and how can send me RA number and then next email doesnt tell me what return label belongs to what order number or what items and they didnt even send return labels or RA for all the items either as in some of them, they listed items number but on most they didnt, it was damn confusing and then the system was telling how "all the items have been refunded or replaced." which was a big lie!
I say dont place a huge order because when you have to return something, these people make it exceptionally hard by issuing RA numbers and dont tell you for what items or order number
And, they will fraudulently will temper with your returns because online system would say "all the items have been refunded or replaced." then you second guess yourself, think, did I even ask to return this item because I clearly remember, I didnt, disgusting customer service!
Misrepresentations and Hassles Right From the Start
I instantly regretted ordering from Vitacost. I purchased a couple of items on their website, based on representations that inventory was in stock and what the estimated shipping times would be. But then, only after the order was placed, they notify you that supply chain disruptions mean the order will be delayed. Not disclosing this up front is shady. So then I go to their so-called customer service and select the "Instant Chat" option. I start a chat and sit there after many minutes tick away while no attendant picks up the chat. OK. So I go to their website's e-mail form and fill that out (wasting more time). Oh and what a surprise, when I hit send I get red text saying they are "having problems" and to try again later. Right. So I call customer service and what is the wait time? 26 minutes.
If honest, accurate representations of in-stock inventory and ACTUAL customer service are a prerequisite for you, then don't walk but RUN from Vitacost. I instantly regret trying to purchase anything from them.
Update: I requested a call back from their customer service department. They called back and I asked to cancel the order. (This is within 30 minutes of placing it). They said they would have to put me on hold to speak to a supervisor. Five minutes on hold, the call drops and no one calls back. So I repeat the process, leave my name and number again and they call back. Again, I ask to cancel the order and again they put me on hold. This time they come back and say the order is already processed and they cannot issue a refund. This is all within an hour of ordering. So I hung up with them, will be refusing the shipment and have asked my credit card issuer to begin a dispute as soon as the transaction clears. HORRIBLE experience.
These merchants are not honest. Companies like this should not be in business.
UPDATE: The horror of my experience with Vitacost continues more that a YEAR after I made the mistake of placing an order with them. Despite making it very clear, in writing, than I did not want to receive marketing from Vitacost, I started getting the first marketing mailings about five months after my first (and last) order. So I immediately called and demanded that they remove me from their system and stop sending marketing. That request was acknowledged and I was assured it was taken care of. But then three months later there was more marketing from Vitacost in my mailbox. Once again I contact their customer service and got the old babe in the woods routine about how they don't know how that happened, that they would escalate it, and they assured me I would be removed and not contacted again. So then why I was not surprised when today, in January of 2023, I got yet another marketing mailing, as if the previous three requests have never been made?!
Now I'll be filing complaints with the FTC and my state's Attorney General. Companies like Vitacoast, that steamroll over privacy, need to be stopped.
DO NOT give Vitacost your money or your information unless you want to become a commodity to be marketed to for the rest of your life.
Won't ship package, fake refund never posts
Like many here, I was a long time customer, always rated the site 5/5. You would think after 2020, customers like us would be more patient with their COVID understaffing and longer shipping times, but it's not that: they have truly changed! Their new staff is the worst. Spent almost $345 to stock up on food, shampoo & vitamins, package never sent. Because their stupid system for the past 2 years says "not yet shipped" even after it was shipped and received, now they can claim it was shipped and it's just a "glitch in the system". Well, I never received the goods. I used the automated form for a refund and later that day, got the email confirmation that it had been approved.
2 weeks later, I went to use my card and declined. So I checked on the refund and... it never posted! Not even a pending transaction. I called my bank and they told me to contact Vitacost because nothing shows on their end. I was repeatedly told that the refund was already approved and that resubmitting would do nothing. I have now filed a dispute with my bank, which will take 90 days to finalize. Meanwhile, I'm out $345. Never again! It's not "COVID" and it's not being "under staffed". It's the new reps don't care, give you the run around, are rude, hang up on you (happened to me twice) and are free to get away with it. I thought Swanson vitamins was bad because they take 1 week to ship, without contact info and their reps are based in China, but I finally got my stuff. Good stuff too, may I add, stuff that Vitacost doesn't carry.
People here is a tip: you're probably reading this because you got scammed too. Learn your lesson: from now on, NEVER EVER shop ANY online company before READing NEGATIVE REVIEWS FIRST! Why? Because reading positive reviews is a waste of time. Just gauge how many green reviews they have vs red. Then read the red. FIRST. ALWAYS read the RED/BAD reviews first! This will tell you what you're very likely to encounter. Then, gauge if you want to take that risk. Too many "I should have read the bad reviews". Do this always. There's also plenty of China-based companies too, that show you wonderful items at super low prices: the reviews show you that they received duds, so don't fall for pretty pictures, don't fall for green/good reviews written by their staff and always read the 1-stars first. Also: quit typing "wish I could give 0 stars", we already know that 1 star means the worst of the worst, you cannot type a review without giving a star, that's the starring system. So quit wasting text, and type the true facts.
As for me, soon as I get my near $345 back, I am never shopping Vitacost again. The kind and caring ladies that worked there, even 5 years ago, are long gone. It's like the company is run by TV News looters, now. Would you trust those types with your credit card? Same difference! D-a-mned be their email spam with their coupons and their offers! You can no longer trust these rude millennials that have taken over a formerly great company. The past doesn't mean a thing for the present. They ruined it. Even Amazon is much better now, sad to say this. DO NOT TRUST VITACOST WITH YOUR MONEY OR YOUR PERSONAL INFO, YOU WILL LOSE EVERY TIME!

I ordered a bottle of Cascara Sagrada but it didn't come with my order. There was no explanation in the box, no list of items
The box came today, November 23
I always have had good results when contacting customer service, until now. I could call and the matter would be taken care of immediately. Now I am told that my complaint is too short! Do you want to lose me as a customer or do you want to help me concerning this matter?
Claimed loss: I'm missing one bottle of Cascara Sagrada that I ordered. It did not come with the other things I ordered.
Desired outcome: Please send me the bottle of Cascara Sagrada
Internet order
On 10/17/2023 I entered order# [protected] at Vitacost.com and used PayPal as the payment method. The website and PayPal both said the amount was $302.57 -- I have screenshots. On 10/19/2023 I received an email from PayPal that said:
"You approved an order to Vitacost.com on October 17, 2023 for $302.57 USD. Vitacost.com has updated the total amount of your transaction. Your new total is $303.08 USD. See below for details."
I did not receive any communication from Vitacost about this, so I don't know why they raised the agreed price by $0.51. This seems unethical, if not illegal. This has happened to me at least twice on previous orders, but the change was only a few cents so I didn't do anything.
Claimed loss: $0.51
Desired outcome: Please refund the $0.51, and more importantly, please fix your system/procedures to never change the price after an order has been confirmed!
I tried to contact Vitacost.com customer service about this issue via e-mail and chat, but neither page would accept a message.
My order viteyes complete
I placed an order on 5th. October 2023 for viteyes complete and brewere yeast and my a/c was debited for 2 amounts. On my mini statement the details are 5/10 eftpos deb. $167-44... And also on the 5-10-23 prch-flexi $151-30...
I received my order of viteyes and brewers yeast on 9th. October and I have nothing at all for the other order, I only ordered once and I have 2 debits go through my a/c.
Desired outcome: Please investigate the 2nd. order and advise me.
Bottle broken prior to delivery, pills and broken glass in bottom of box.
Have sent photos, emailed, phoned. Re-sent emails. Was told refund/replacement was being processed... but then it was cancelled, then I was told again it was being processed. But still no confirmation or evidence anything is in the works. Very disappointed. I was a long-time customer and have recommended Vitacost to friends. No longer. I suspect I'm not the only disgruntled shopper.
Desired outcome: Please refund. Apology would be nice, too. Upgrade customer service - it used to be excellent, but not any more.
Magnesium citrate 400mg
First of all I have purchased many products and placed orders of several Hundred dollars twice a year for several years. I used to buy from Vitamin Shoppe and/Lucky Vitamins. Vitacost has always made up for their order or shipping mistakes in the past and for that I applaud them.
On my last order, I ordered a product, only to find out that the product tablet size has increased and subsequently, so has the bottle. I though this was odd. As, I have ordered possibly 40 bottles in the past. Especially after hearing the customer service rep trying to explain what the tech support had apparently said was the reason.
The following is my inquiry into my issue:

The product is NOT the same and I must question why? Your technical support blames the increase in size of the tablets on the new manufacturers inert ingredients...
I say BS. Your label is EXACTLY the same. Even the supplement Facts and Other ingredients label, is exactly the same! Further more, this "new" product acts like Magnesium Oxide in my system!
I understand trying to save money and cut costs, but cutting costs at the expense of the customers health is a very bad, bad business move. If this "New formulation" actually required MORE ingredients to create the SAME product, I would NOT buy it in the 1st place. Why would I want MORE inactive (or other) ingredients in the mix, so my Liver and Kidneys could work Harder to filter these extra unnecessary ingredients out? These extra (off label) "ingredients" DO NOT add to the quality or the assimilation of the product. If they did, they'd be labeled and the old product would have indeed had these as well.
Unless of course, the old product was inferior to this "New" product? If so, why would you have sold the inferior product in the 1st place? Hmm, I did not receive a product RECALL on the original product... ?
This "new" product acts like Mag. Oxide on the bowels. I am genuinely interested in exactly what is even in this "New" product. I may pursue some Lab testing to find out.
VERY dissatisfied with Vitacost allowing fillers and God knows what, to be added NEEDLESSLY to a product.
Too many supplements and raw materials come from China and foolish people continue to use these products, as though the FDA or some other Gov watch dog is monitoring the vitamin industry.
YOU Vitacost, are the consumers watch dog. Sadly, your "trusted" name is all we the consumer can count on...
A simple refund is Not enough. I want some answers and correspondence with someone in upper management with knowledge on this subject matter.

Product misrepresented, fraudulent, deceptive advertising.
5/8/23 - Purchased (6) 32oz bottles of Dynamic Health Mangosteen Juice containing 30g of Mangosteen Juice per serving. Received order with different Dynamic Health label on bottle containing only 16g of Mangosteen Juice per serving. Called Vitacost on 5/10/23 and Customer Service Rep. apologized and said they will credit my account with $163.15. Being that they would credit my account I reordered with Vitacost & replaced them with (6) 32 oz bottles of Gopal Mangosteen Juice containing 30g of Mangosteen Juice per serving. Received that order and everything was as advertised and fine unlike Dynamic Health. Called Vitacost on 5/19/23 - credit denied. I explained that the Dynamic Health Mangosteen has changed their formula and label ingedients now only contain 16g per serving, not 30g. even though Vitacost continues to advertise Dynamic Health Mangosteen Juice with 30g. Very deceptive, fraudulent advertising. Spoke with (2) Customer Service Reps. who both assured me they would have their Supervisor contact me. Never happened.
Desired outcome: I would like Vitacost to issue me a $163.15 credit like they originally said they would. Order# [protected]. I have been a regular, satisfied customer for years.
Vitacost did respond with a fair and equitable price adjustment. Thank you.
A "fair and reasonable price adjustment" does NOT resolve every issue. Nor, does it restore customer confidence to those who were ignored by management and supervisors not doing their jobs and properly handling Customer Service.
Terrible customer service!
Customer service emailed me a few days ago assuring me I was refunded for #order319145125 since my order was lost after delivery, then a week later I noticed the refund was never processed. I contacted them again and they said they canceled the refund. They didn't send me any emails to let me know of the change and they have done nothing to fix this issue even though on their website they have a guarantee policy. I asked for the owner to email me back and they never did nor did they fix this. I would like the owner to email me back and to be refunded for the order I never received.
Desired outcome: Refund. I would like a manager and the owner here to email me back with a solution.
Packing
Vitacost has a TOTAL disconnect between customers and upper management.
I've repeatedly gotten orders with damage/spillage caused by their ineffective wasteful packing.
The supervisors contactable by customers can't/wont contact upper management.
They're only allowed to send suggestions to packing departments.
Have repeatedly called about it with zero results.
I order case quantities of items I use
This could all be eliminated by their simply packing the cartons the product is shipped to them in.
Desired outcome: Contact with someone in upper management who can change packing methods.
To get full refund
I received damaged items via mail. I reported first in October then in November and December of last year to ask for the refund. I emailed pictures of damaged items to prove the items were damaged. They have refused to credit me. The company is very dishonest. The order number is [protected] placed on September 5, 2022 for the amount of 460.19. Shipping boxes of Broth that exploded in my cabinet
They sent broth boxes that looked like they ok at first. I left them in the plastic bags just in case they leaked. A few weeks later I went to use the broth and the boxes looked like they exploded and leaked all over my pantry. They credited me the 2 boxes but I asked them to replace the drawers in my pantry that had warped. I took pictures and also gave them a picture of the replacement costs of the drawers (under 125 each). They kept telling me they were evaluating it. Then they ignored me for over a year. I will buy somewhere else. I was a long time customer.
Desired outcome: I wanted them to replace the warped drawers from my cabinet where the boxes leaked and spilled. I

3 charges with associated foreign transfer fees against my debit card by this company in the last few days 2 on the 6/12/2022 and 1 on 8/12/2022.
I have never done any business with this company and it will certainly stay that way.
Know that such a scam is coming from this company. I hope that you can do something about it. The accounts department needs to stop entirely fraudulent scam charges.

Not issuing a refund
I had an email sent to me by Vitacost to “come back we miss you” and receive 20% off. I had not yet used this coupon and had stopped shopping with them because I was constantly missing things upon arrival from my previous orders with a packing slip stating that they were in the box. I decided to give them another try and went to use the coupon and it said it had already been used but since it wasn't by me I logged onto chat help. I was told to place the order as is and I would be credited back the 20% within 48 hours. But, I haven’t heard back and I have sent multiple emails and it has been 3 weeks. I ordered two bottles oif vitacost strontium by phone 10/26/22m confirmation #[protected] for $ 39.98. I have not received my order and my credit card was billed 10/28/22. I have not heard anything from Vitacost about my order. For some unknown reason I have been blocked from ordering on line. I have been ordering from vitacost online for many years and now suddenly Vitacost says Iam not allowed to order online anymore. So I called and odered by phone.

Expiration dates, all products!
For the last two years I have received products from vitacost with a expiration that has expired. I requested for the item to be replaced which they did replace. When I received the replacement I did not bother to check the date because I thought it was a updated expiration date. About four month's I checked the date and found out they shipped the same date that had expired. I called them and they said they were sorry and would give me a refund. I asked them did they have another date than what they sent me, they said no so I ordered from another company.
I called today to be sure before I placed my order to see if it had a good expiration dates on it that would carry me through the year. The lady I talked to said she could not do that because they do not keep up with expiration dates. I asked, do you mean you not keep up with the expiration dates there and she said no. I told her I would not be ordering from Vitacost no more and hung up.
I sent 100's of dollars at vitacost each year because I order a year supply at one time of my supplements.
Desired outcome: Until Vitacost and guarantee me a date that will last for at least a year, I will no longer do business with them, period!
They are now farming out customer service to out of the country call centers
I have been ordering from Vitacost.com for many years. I just tried to place an order for items that I always order. There are 35 items in my cart. When I try to proceed to purchase there is a message in red that says the items in my cart are not able to ship to Washington. I called the customer service number on their website like I have in the past. I got a damn out of the country call center. I was connected with a foreign woman that spoke poor english and was obviously reading from a script. I asked several times to be connected or have a real Vitacost employe in the US or to have one contact me. She first told me that wasn't possible. After several requests she told me that someone from Vitacost would call me by the end of the day. I am so disgusted that one of my favorite companies has made the decision to use these awful out of the country call centers.
Desired outcome: I hope that Vitacost figures out that out of the country call centers are not a money saver for them. It just makes their customers angry. It will loose them their long time customers.
Just a record of this taking place, as I apparently cannot cancel the order and now will end up with a very large duplicate order.
On 10/10/22 I placed an order with vitacost.com, however an "oops" message appeared and indicated my cart was empty. I went back and made the order again, then when I checked my e-mails ([protected]@yahoo.com) it indicated that I'd made two separate orders (order # [protected] arrived in my e-mail at 8:10 am and order # [protected] arrived at 8:18 am. I immediately went back to the customer service chat at 8:29 to request that the second order be cancelled. The representative indicated that it could only be cancelled within 15 minutes of placing it. As I'd just placed it, I was within the 15 minutes at that time, but by the time she "checked", she indicated that it was past the time and order [protected] could not be cancelled. If this is a common practice with Vitacost's online site, this should be indicated before anyone places an order. I don't know if others have experienced this situation, but I feel this is an exceptionally bad business practice. I have a record of the chat conversation with their representative Brunolina and the times of the exchanges.
Desired outcome: There doesn't seem, to be anything else that can be done.
