warranty, master cylinder, abs
I purchased a certified pre-owned blue 2016 Golf 1.6 Trendline in October of 2017 at 401 Dixie in Mississauga, Ontario. There were 54, 000km when I purchased the car. There are currently 64, 000km. My license plate is [removed].
3 weeks ago I was on a road trip, when my brakes started to act up. The front brakes would lock if I had to stop suddenly at a yellow light, and my car would jolt to the right, slightly. When approaching other sudden stops, or when needing to completely slow down on a busy highway, the brakes began making a "skipping" noise, and my car would not come to a stop. I almost got into several accidents.
I brought my car to my local mechanic who told me that the problem could be more than just the brakes, and it was also the master cylinder. They said it was dangerous to drive.
When I called the dealership to ask about my warranty, they were unprofessional and rude to me over the phone. I mentioned the recall on Volkswagens for brake issues and was told "that was only in the States". They told me brakes are not covered under warranty. I told them I knew mechanical brakes are not covered, but asked if electronic brakes are covered. They were unable to give me an answer. I told them I needed to replace my master cylinder and I would also like to replace the brakes. They informed me they are understaffed and would not be able to look at my car over the weekend.
I replaced my rotors and brake pads at my mechanic because I was told it would not be covered under warranty by Volkswagen. I then made an appointment for Monday July 16th at 3:00pm with Brandon at 401 Dixie to get an assessment and potentially fix my master cylinder. My car was towed to 401 Dixie on Friday July 13th.
On Monday July 16th at 4:10 pm, I called 401 Dixie to ask about the status of my car. The service department informed me they would check for me and call me back right away. They did not call me back. On Tuesday August 17th at 9:00 am I called again to ask about my car. Brandon informed me that they had not yet looked at it. He said they would call me back in a couple of hours.
Three hours later Brandon called me to tell me the problem with my car is the master cylinder. He said that "he checked the warranty book" and master cylinders are not covered. He quoted me: $420 as the cheapest on the market for the part, $120 for the assessment, and $350 + tax for labour, as it is a 3 hour job. I told him I would call him back.
I called the other Volkswagen dealership in Mississauga and asked them if master cylinders are covered under warranty. They told me "yes, up to 80, 000km or four years if there is a manufacturing defect". I asked "what would make it not a manufacturing defect?". They replied: "if an animal crawls up and chews the wires, or if you are in an accident".
I then called head office. I asked if master cylinders are covered under warranty. They said yes, up to 4 years or 80, 000 km. I explained what Brandon told me from my dealership, and they agreed they do not know why he would tell me that over the phone as it is untrue.
Abiel at head head office then told me it would take 24 - 48 hours to finish looking into the problem. When I asked about complimentary rental cars that are advertised while being on "hold" over the phone, he would not help me with the steps to get one. I was told I could not get a rental car until my warranty was confirmed.
The next day I called head office multiple times to finally get in touch again with Abiel who had been helping both my mom named Alexa and myself. He told me that the service manager at 401 Dixie had not yet gotten back to him. This was Wednesday July 18th. Abiel called me later that day in the afternoon, and informed me that the dealership concluded: since I got my brakes done at an outside source, my warranty had been voided. They said my mechanic is the one who broke the master cylinder. Abiel at head office claimed to just be "the messenger" and that "this would be the end of our interaction" and hung up.
I then ordered to get my car towed back to my mechanic. 401 Dixie called me, put me on hold, then would ask me to call back. This was in the middle of trying to get my car towed on time before my mechanic closed at 6pm. I told the lady at the front desk that I could no longer be put on hold or wait to call back, because someone was there to pick up my car after sitting at the dealership for over four days. My mom told Brandon from the service department, over the phone, to send the invoice for the assessment to us in the mail.
Once towed, my mechanic Chris from Central Auto Pro in Mississauga ordered the master cylinder from the other Mississauga Volkswagen (not 401 Dixie). They sent him the wrong part. When he called to let them know, they informed him he had to bring the old and new cylinder in person if he wanted it to be corrected. Apparently the serial number on the box was different than the one on the actual part, so it had to be brought in person. Thus, I went another weekend without a car.
Monday July 23rd Chris called me. He informed me Volkswagen said it will take 5 business days to get the new part.
After over 2 weeks of stress, cabbing back and forth from work, studying for final exams, spending $2700 on my brakes pads, rotors, master cylinder, ABS installation, and labour, I finally have a safe car to drive.
I have never had service like this from a company. I have never gone out of my way to make a complaint to either head office or online for any service or to any company because I am a tolerable person. However, I find this very unfair and unreasonable. I thought that head office would help with a solution. I was not apologized to by the dealership once for their service. I was not sent an invoice for their assessment either, which suggests they are aware of the mistreatment.
There are a lot of problems with this situation. I was entitled to warranty from the beginning. I almost got into several accidents because of my brakes. My appointment was blown off. Inconsistent information was given to me over the phone. The wrong part was sent to my mechanic. I was spoken to dismissively by both head office and the service department at 401 Dixie. My view of Volkswagen has been completely ruined from this experience.
My desirable resolution for this is a refund for the cost of repairs, towing, and reimbursement for transportation to and from work.
I will be taking this claim to court and the Ministry of Transportation if I do not receive a response within the next few weeks.
Thank you for your time. Please feel free to contact me via email at [removed] or [removed].

vw service in canada/quebec
I went to VW Laurentides, Saint-Jerome on the 27th of July 2018 with the firm intention to purchase one of your vehicles and was treated with utmost disrespect by agents who were not able to confirm in nay way that their own company respects its clients or honors its guarantees. I am furious and below is the review they got:
Stunned! I came to VW upon recommendation of a friend who 'thought' it was a 'trustworthy' dealer. We chose one of the 'certified' cars (passat), took a day off from work and went there, intending to close the deal on the car. A 'respectable' dealer says 'certified' means in a good condition? no..
At first glance, the car had rust from both sides (2 parts on each side). Certified mechanically, ok, but selling it at this price with rust? IT WAS STILL WITHIN THE SO-CALLED VW RUST-GUARANTEE!
No promise to repair properly! the agents even told us no guarantee even if you buy it that VW will HONOR its guarantee? wtf!
Anyways, we had at that point invested too much time and effort in this affair so went in to discuss the financing anyways, after our friend -kind heart guy- kept believing we might get properly treated!
When we began to have the information, the agent/manager kept changing their minds over and over: first telling us about VW financing then about the bank - mind you I have a perfect credit score and have the full amount to pay for the car, just wanted the safety of not putting so much funds at once.
I hated how they changed their minds. I had called over the phone to ask about the car and got a confirmation it was certified. The car has the certification logos and flags and still when it was time for business, the agent/manager changed their sayings and said it was not eligible to be certified or get the certified cars' privilege.
Waste of time and A BIG AFFRONT TO SUCH 'RESPECTFUL' brand.
It rusts guys and buyer beware.. even the agents are not sure their own company will assume its responsibility DURING the rust-guarantee period.
seeking justice!
Please be aware of this dealership! They might be "nice and honest" when they sell you a vehicle, but afterwards you will find out that you were robbed and lied to. I had a Passat 2015 that I leased in Orlando and three months ago I visited this dealership to finance the car. John Hallar, a salesman there, persuaded me to lease a new car and said he would waive all fees related to my extra mileage as long as I re-signed the lease with a new car! So I did. Now, I get an invoice for the extra milage on the car that I turned in! I called the dealership and the manger started yelling and asking why I contacted VW credit. He doesn't want the company to know that John (salesman) and Scott (manager) are big liars? Probably! I hope the corporate office will read this and fire the two of them. I will be reaching out to the corporate offices in the US and Germany to further continue this process.
repairs

I am complaining about bad service at vw maintenance service agent in egypt. egyptian automotive & trading co.
My name is Emad Nabil. Egyptian male. Live in Cairo Egypt. I own a VW Passat 2012. Chassis number 056303. Engine number 75642. Millage reading as of today is around 44, 000 Kilometer. I do scheduled maintenance regularly at the authorized VW service agent in Egypt "Egyptian Automotive & Trading Co." and I have never missed any. Last February while I was having a scheduled maintenance I was told by the maintenance engineer who was in charge of my car that there is a problem with the clutch set and the set must be replaced. We will replace it free of charge and you will pay only for the workmanship. I was also told that we will call you in 2 weeks time to come and replace the clutch set as we do not have the item in stock. I have been waiting for this call that never took place until today July 17th. I called Egyptian Automotive last month to check as my car's performance started to deteriorate. Answer was we are sorry we still have not got the clutch set in stock, check again in August. I did go to them myself, and i insisted to get a date for the replacement of the clutch set, but no date was given to me . All what i got from them is wait for a phone call from us and I was told by them that it is better to stop using the car while waiting for the replacement of the clutch set to take place. Is this reasonable ? Is this acceptable? The car accelaration has become extremely poor. The transmissions have started to act weirdly. I stopped using the car and I have nobody to turn to. Therefore, I need your immediate help. One more thing worth mentioning is that I have been complaining since day one I received my car from the dealership that I have a strong shudder every time the gearbox is at the 2nd transmission. The engineers at Egyptian automotive never acknowledged that there is a problem and they kept telling me every time I go to them with this complaint that this is normal. Owning a VW car has been my dream for a long time. I do really like my car a lot and I feel very bad about the kind of treatment I get fro your authorized agent in Egypt. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Please let me know in case more details needed to solve my problem.Thank you in advance.

I have a problem with my car. It doesn't wanna start. I took it to battery centre since the tracking company said it's the battery. So I took it to Battery Centre and they tested and said - my battery is fine, it just needs to be recharged. Ok and I booked with VW autohaus since it's still under warranty and on the 22nd of May 2018 I took in for a service and everything they said was fine but after 3 weeks I started experiencing this issue. On the 10th of July 2018 I took it in and they said they will do tests and if they find that it needs to be recharged they will recharge overnight ok cool - and I asked if they can drop me off at my place since there's no transport to where I stay they said they can't and and and ok cool... I was advised that if there's still issues still today they will replace the battery and now I am told that I might be asked to pay and it's not expensive. however the lady said they will call me and let me know of the outcome... I am not gonna pay anything since it is still under warranty. and they should have said yesterday but now they are telling me that they will see if they can put it under warranty and and and... if there was something faulty they would have said when I took for a service and after some tests yesterday they saw that the battery needs to be recharged or replaced that's it...
Cellphone Number # [protected] Reg Number # FM 55 FL GP Now I have been told that the battery doesn't have the warranty sticker, so I will have to pay for it if they replace it. I have never changed the battery or anything since it is still under warranty. I bought it from McCarthy GVW Gezina in 2017. Now it's at Centurion Autohaus where I am told I will have to pay and they are not done still with the car and the office here and them are closing at 5PM. I do not have transport from here to my place and to work. Yesterday I struggled getting home and this morning. I reported another issue with MCarthy VW Gezina and VW SA (You advised me to raise it with Gezina and I did no one bothered to assist) and now this aowa no I can't take it anymore.
I bought my first car
I bought my first car and I got the loan trough the dealership at Standard bank, the day before I picked up the car, Bidtracker called and asked me if they can install a tracker and I said no because I am at King Price and they are happy with matrix. The sales guy from Volkswagen "Renier" called me back and said that they cannot give the car to me without the tracker because it is Standard banks policy for me to have a tracker in beacause it is their car till I paid it off, then he also texted me and said again that it is the banks policy so they cannot take it out and that I must have two trackers, depends on bank to bank and insurance to insurance. When I recieved my Invoice I noticed that the tracker cost me R3990 to install and I immideatly went to Standard bank and they said that they lied to me to sell something and they are happy to give me a letter because it is wrong and he did make a false statements of the bank. I gave them suggestions to take out the tracker and then refund me or take that money to put on a tow bar and I will pay the difference because I wanted a tow bar because I cycle but didn't want to put on extras because I am only working part time and I am still a student so I didn't want to go to expensive. So they said that they will take out the tracker and put a tow bar on and today more than 3 months later I still have to remind Renier every week to sort things out. I bought the VW polo vivo 1.4 Comfortline in April.
Bad service and lies
They have installed a tow bar where I didn't need pay extra for it.
2015 vw golf vin: 3vwfa7au2fm501489
I want to notify a deceptive and misleading representation of the 2015 VW Golf Vin ENDING 01489. I've made previous attempts to contact the salesperson Armani Algere and have text messages to him with no response or resolve and Mike Murphy the owner and GM of VW Oakland. I purchased the vehicle on or about April 16, 2018 based on communications with Armani Algere and his affirmation that the vehicle had no record of accidents or had any significant or visual damages. He provided me photos via text and carfax that made me feel confident that the vehicle was in premium condition. The vehicle was mispresented to me by pictures and evidence of a car fax report. The damage to the car, and subpar repair are visual to the human eye; these repairs are approx. $2900.
baron n1 city
To whom it may concern,
I would like to launch a complaint against VW - bought a brand new car from Baron N1 city VW, 11 months later the steering wheel locked ( 23 May 2018) in the middle of the road due to internal default. No courtesy car was offered for 13 days until I had to demand it myself, initially I was told that their cars were fully booked! I'm disappointed in their terrible service and faulty products! They're putting customer's lives at risk!
Desirable resolutions: Refund or brand new car
paint job, 2009 vw rusting after being garaged
I am a loyal VW customer. I purchased my VW 2009 CC VR6 in 2009. I love my car and bought it brand new in 2009. I noticed the back truck to be rusting and am upset because this car is garaged and in a covered garage at my work place. I woul like this recrified somehow by VW. My.mom has a 2006 nissan sentra that is NOT GARAHED and her car has no rust spots. Plus I paid $41k fir my VW Cc. I get all my work done at VW, Curran in Stratford CT.

2015 jetta
In 2015 my wife owned a 2013 passat. When she began experiencing trouble with the vehicle at 15000 miles. First came abnormal noises with the exhaust and brakes. Harper VW of Knoxville addressed the issue after several failed attempts. Then as the warranty had just expired, the power steering module failed. So after being told she would have to pay over 1, 000 dollars to repair. She wanted to trade. She then traded the passat for a 2015 Jetta. Since owning the Jetta she has had less than a positive experience to say the least. At 3000 miles the oil light shined brightly to her surprise. Harper inspected the oil sensor and then determined that the oil level was possibly low from the manufacturer. After driving till between 6 and 8000 miles, the oil light shined brightly again. Harper considered this period a breakin period and decided to perform a consumption test at 10k miles. Harper completed an oil change and consumption test. According to Harper, the Jetta performed within VW standards. My wife drove the vehicle again at Harpers request to 16000 miles. Guess what, oil light came on again. Harper's reasoning for the oil light this time, turbo engines just use more oil. Great reasoning, and excellent customer service. Another tactic to shew her out of the service department. Oil was changed again at 20000, oil light shined brightly again 26k. Harpers reasoning for this occurrence, "these newer turbo engines just use a little more oil and can't quite make it to 10k miles. Oil light came on again at 28000 miles, only 2000 miles driven on this oil change. Harper added oil and stated " let's just watch it until next oil change". Now the Jett has roughly 32k an my wife feels like she has bought another lemon. She is scared to drive her car on long trips at this point. I just checked her oil, it is approximately 1qt low with only 3500miles on the current oil change. This is unacceptable, VW what are you going to do to ensure my wife and I are returning customers? I have owned two passats in the last three years. My wife has owned a Routan, 2 Jettas and a passat. We are a VW family. Are you? Take care of you loyal customers. Please respond to [protected]. Or email t.[protected]@gmail.com. Thank you, your loyal VW customer.

world cup commercial
Volkswagen is misleading the people with a commercial that they play on tv at the World Cup.
There's a Brazilian woman saying "we have the most international trophies in football"
But is not true. Brazil has 5 world cups, 6 American cups and none Olympic medals.
Argentina and Uruguay have each of them, 2WC, 15 American cups, 2olympics gold medals.
Therefore if I'm not mistaken,
Brazil 11
Argentina 19
Uruguay 19
Please fix it. It might be a honest mistake but we are using our social media to refuse it.
Make it right Volkswagen, correct your mistake.
Brazil got 18. 5-World Cup, 4-Con Fed Cup, 3-South American Cup, 5- Copa America, 1-Olympics. Brazil got 5 World Cup against Argentina and Uruguay with 2 apiece. World Cup is the ultimate goal of all national team.
by the way, i saw the commercial again, your statement, There's a Brazilian woman saying "we have the most international trophies in football" is not true. the brazilian woman said "we have more trophies than any other team. im sure she mean world cup

vw services
Hello, writing to express my concern of a vw touareg r line. I have 2 claims which I make from insurance.
1st claim was a little hit on rear right side. Vw mauritius did the job but reflector wasn't in stock. Ian still waiting it's been more than 1 year now.
2nd claim is rear left passenger door which they owe me. Vw has ordered the door but still didn't get any response from them. It's been more than 9month.
They acknowledge they have a problem with logistics. But as a regular client of the vw group, leaves me very frustrated.
volkswagen jetta 2017
I bought a. 2nd hand car from a delear in marcel laurin volkswagen prestige. First month I had a trouble making appointments to change my tires they even can't provide you good service when I called in the guy named james said "sorry cannot book you an appointment now, call back tomorrow" then, I was talking with their receptionist who is not nice. I complained about it but nothing happened. Next after a month I saw my windshield washer warning light turned on so I filled it up but, it doesn't go off, they said it's fine. I was so ready to give back the car don't even care if i'd be able to give back my money I just don't want any useless car. Now, I tried reaching out to every volkswagen dealer in montreal but none are worthy. Now, my car has issues again epc light and engine light turned on then my car starts shaking accelerator doesn't work as well. It's a newly manufactured car but it already has issues and I need my car going to work but no one seems to care. Customer care can't even do so much I talked to their supervisor and their supervisor says "we don't give compensations for a time that is wasted" what the freakin crap?! You guys wasted my money, can't give me a spare car and you sold me a [censored] car that doesn't even work well! I'd rather have a bad credit that pay for a car that's not even worthy of! So now it's in another dealer which is I 324 peel st. (volkswagen centre - ville) they said they will call me about what is happening to my car but no one called tried to call them a lot pf times asking about my car left bunch of messages but no one called me back! I need my car to go to work! Waited for them the whole day! But I never received any! Volkswagen watch out your people!
service levels of the salesman, service manager and dealer principle
I purchased a golf 7 in march 2018, and took delivery of the vehicle on the 20th of march 2018. The first disappointment was the poor service I received from the salesman, shaheed shreef, who was more of a joker than a proffessional.
Since I took delivery of my vehichle, it's been back to the dealership for two oil testings., and it's only june 2018 now. I have advised the dealer principle, cornel marais that I no longer want this vehicle and have been more than patient in allowing him to offer me a solution to the dealerships poor product sold.
The dealership always advertises their "excellent service" on the radio. Which I must say is far from the truth.
passat tdi 1.6 break
I buy passat 2015 in february, before I buy this car I would love to buy volkswagen passat because I like too much this car, but after I buy the car I realize that was my biggest mistake in my life, until now in 5 months I [censored] my self to spend alot of money for this car... For ur info I save money since 1 year to buy this car but I was never knew that this volkswagen give me alot of troubles, I just suggest every one do not buy passat because I already repair the automatic clutch in 2500 euros and after that I have to change the shocks and the carvis still not in good condition, this passat need more money to spend and I do not have more money to spend on this nonsence car, I will promise my self that I will never buy any volkswagen in my whole life,
Please never buy volkswagen ... this car make me poor already ...
not to be trusted
Took my car in for a service and I asked my service consultant to please check on my rear brakes as they were making a noise when braking, also asked them to check why the car over heats in traffic. The consultant calls me after checking what is wrong with my car and he advised me that i need to change my brake shoes and drums as they where worn and needed to be replaced, quoting me R6100. The issue with overheating was due to my thermostat and wiring that needed to be replaced, quoting me R7200. I told my consultant to put everything back together as i will sort that out at a later stage as i did not have that kind of cash with me at the time. I proceeded to buy the shoes and drums from a reputable store to replace them and when taking my car to a workshop for fitment, the person that took the parts off asked me why am i changing this when there is nothing wrong with them. The shoes and drums where in 100% working order and did not need to be changed. The guy at the workshop serviced my shoes and brakes by removing all the dirt and dust and after that my brakes are perfect without any noises. I was being charged R6100 from VW for something that wasn't even looked at. With the thermostat I took it to someone to sort out and they told me that it was my temperature switch that needed to changed, which costed me R388, whereas Vw was charging me R7200 for something that was not even faulty. This kind of service is absolutely disgraceful and I will never refer anyone to take their car to Vw Fourways for a service or to check on a problem as they do not check on the faults. I was told that i would get a call from the branch manager and I am still waiting on that. This is unacceptable service from such a big brand and the people that where involved with my car should be investigated if they are doing their job correctly.
unethical behaviour
To whom it may concern
I am the first owner of a VW Passat model 2014. Owing a VW was an old childhood wish. It took me years to save enough money to own my favorite prestigious German car brand. For me it was a mark of success and great pleasure.
Soon afterwards I realized that it was a very bad experience to deal with the local VW service agent. During the three years' warranty period in which I was keen to keep my car in a proper condition, doing all my services in time and through the local agent. Each time I had to deal with their exceptionally over pricing and unprofessional attitude; having to wait for example from 9 am to 4 pm just to have just the oil and filter changed and receiving the car with oil hand prints of mechanics all over. This has made me decide to think thoroughly before owning another VW and having to deal with such agent.
Only a year after purchasing my Passat, I started to notice that the car is slow and doesn't perform better than my wife's Hyundai accent in open roads. Each time I delivered my car to service I was complaining about this only to be told that everything has been taken care of and that everything is going to be fine. They never kept record of my complaint
Last week, at the first service visit after my warranty period ended, I was told that the car turbo is destroyed and that it must be replaced. I was told that they are going to send a mail to the company to try to replace it by good will. Next day, they called me and said that the company refused and that I must pay 60000 EGY for replacement. Am wondering if it is possible that any form of faulty usage can damage the turbo? and if it was the reason for the car's inferior performance, why wasn't it replaced during warranty? Unfortunately, I wasn't given any documents to prove my previous complaints.
I find it hard to believe that this is the respectable Volkswagen's company policy. I am sending this email for clarification.
Attached documents to prove that services were done at the certified agent's center. The car is currently in Obour city service center
