Date of service: 10/27/22 in for an ankle check. At the time I had Blue Care Network insurance. Was never billed to the insurance, so I get a statement stating that I owe the $400. I called when I got that to state that I had insurance and all I was told was that it would be looked into. Never heard back until I got a statement in the mail from the collection agency! So I called the collection agency to let them know that I had insurance, and got told the same thing; let us check into and see what happened. Again, never heard back.
So not until recently did I really start working on this to get it resolved, and neither the Billing department of Well Now would want to help me, or the Customer Service at Professional Credit Service Collections. I have had numerous calls, even a 3 way call between the collection agency, the insurance company that I had at the time and myself. What was recorded from that call from the rep at the insurance company hadn't even begun to be done like we were told! It has only taken a new rep at the Insurance to make some moves and get more info than I had ever gotten. So to find out, it was your Billing dept that had the mistake from the beginning, billed the wrong insurance, no contact to the patient to check on the information, then jump the gun on just putting it through collections to damage someone's credit history! And now they expect to collect $400 from me?!
Claimed loss: Just my damage to my credit at this point.
Desired outcome: I'm not paying the balance whether the insurance pays or not!! I have made my attempt to work this out, and no one has given me any information like what was told to the insurance rep today!!
