The service at the office 1143 e main st 85203
I been in pain for over a year. 2 months ago me and my daughter had an appointment and when we arrived, we was told they couldn’t see ppl today because someone caught Covid. Other ppl was there who was of course white went to the back and ppl was still sitting there waiting but we was told to leave. Yesterday my daughter received a postcard in the mail from them for an appointment but I didn’t. The manager at that office called and acted stupid and got smart when I asked about my appointment. I feel we was discriminated against and I’m looking into getting a lawyer with the NAACP. This happened in Mesa Arizona. I called the corporate office at they kept hanging up on me. This is the worst service I have ever had.
Appointments
The Oceanside, CA facility (on Mission Ave.) has screwed up making my appointments multiple times. Latest example: I made an appointment, I confirmed it a week later, and then at the time of the appointment was told that it was not in the system!
Also, I have had to wait excessive lengths of time at the office. Ex: I once spent about 3 1/2 hours at the office for about 1/2 hours worth of time with the dentist.

Worst experience ever. My father was in desperate need of an orthodontist due to a toothache. What did he end up with? His entire bottom teeth extracted because the orthodontist would not work on his teeth otherwise unless he agreed to this nonsense. There were only 2 teeth that he needed extracted and had to pay for 6 teeth to be extracted because they claim insurance will not pay for dentures otherwise. And then decided to extract 4 more because they are starting rot (false!) So yes, the rest of his bottom teeth was extract for absolutely no reason. It's been 3 months and he's still on a liquid diet because they can't seem to find anything wrong with his dentures despite the fact that his dentures come off when he takes one bite of anything. Senior citizen, on Medicare, and on a fixed income. Now they are telling him that they can't do anything until 6 months later since that's when he due for his alignment visit. So... he should stay on a liquid diet until then? He also had dish out 4k up front for bone grafts, money he doesn't even have but he was in pain, in other words, they took advantage of a senior citizen that's barely making it through and now has health issues due to lack of nutrition.
Desired outcome: Money back paid for bone grafts, time spent waiting 2-3 past scheduled time, and gas mileage

The dentist and manager recommended dentures. They said my lower jaw was too weak to support a bottom denture and my upper was fine. They said I had to have bone grafting, then posts put in then permanent dentures. Posts were to expensive, I couldn't afford them. They talked me into getting them, saying I had to have a minimum of 3 put in for my lower jaw. One up front and 2 in the back one on each side. Otherwise they said they would rock back and forth horribly. If I didn't get them they said my lower dentures wouldn't hold. It never crossed my mind that they would not only lie about everything but also do the opposite of what they said. We scheduled the appointment. The manager said we would do all the paperwork right before my appointment. I asked if we could do it right then and there since I had time. He said they didn't do it like that. So on July 28th I went in to get my teeth pulled. They started setting me up for shots. The appointment would be around 4 hours. I would be awake through all of it because I couldn't afford sedation. As I'm laid back in the chair, one person after another is bringing me paperwork. The manager brings me a new estimate that is 4 thousand dollars higher than what we agreed on. We're constantly being interrupted by assistants that are prepping me for my surgery. The manager and I went back and forth several times. Finally I let him know I recorded every single moment from the second I got into western Dental. I have severe neurological damage which messes with my memory. So I told him I would listen to the recording and we would have to reschedule. He then suddenly lowers the amount back down. He had also promised if my permanent dentures were uncomfortable or I didn't like them he would make a new pair. Many of the negative reviews came from people that hated the fit of their permanent dentures. So this was essential to me. He came back with a contract that fixed the price but he conveniently left that out. I wouldn't sign. So he said he would write up another and be right back. The dentist then started the shots. He gave me 15-20 shots in under 3 minutes. I remember I couldn't breathe, my heart was slamming into my chest. It was all I could hear. Finally when he was done, he told his assistant that no matter what the shots hurt like hell so he just did them all at once. Stupid! So rather than learn the skills to minimize the pain, this jerk could end up killing someone. You have to breathe in between those shots. Anyway I'm pretty sure I went into shock. All I could think, hear and feel was a giant heartbeat, that was super fast. At this point I have to basically go by my recording of the appointment. The dentist walked away and the manager came up to me. He had me sign the paperwork. I was incredibly unresponsive in the recording. Basically mumbling. Then he told me that I ended up not needing a bone grafting. I didn't even respond in the recording. But the reason I was paying 8,700 was because my lower jaw bone was so weak, it wouldn't hold my lower dentures. So how is it possible I suddenly didn't need it. They hadn't even done another ex-ray. Obviously he didn't let the dentist know, or didn't let the dentist know he had informed me. During the recording my dentist tells his assistant, " this is how you do the bone graft, that's what I'm doing right here is the bone graft". It was obvious this was said for my benefit since no bone graft was done. They sent me home with a pair of dentures the dentist had to struggle to get to stay on. With my mouth full of blood and stitches I walked out of the office. The dentures popped out the second I tried to swallow. Suffice it to say they didn't fit. 4 specialists later I found out what was really going on. For starters my lower jaw would definitely have held a bottom denture. So the 8 thousand in cash on top of my insurance that I paid was completely unesesary. Also because they last minute said I didn't need the bone graft all three posts were put up front, exactly were they told me it wouldn't work. The specialists I went to said I in no way qualified for posts. I don't have the bone left and I have an autoimmune disorder. I'm chronically sick. They also didn't even put the head on one of the posts. All of the specialists examined the temporary dentures that medi-cal paid thousands for. I was told over and over they couldn't even rig them to fit my teeth if they wanted. They didn't even touch my gums. After many cancelled appointments from western Dental, I finally managed to get in. Supposedly the dentist who worked on my teeth just up and disappeared. He never came back to work after he did my posts. So another dentist tried sanding, scraping and drilling down the dentures and couldn't get them to fit. I then talked to the manager again who told me he is not allowed to make me another set. Even though these weren't made for me. He said the company only does one, so either we make them fit, or I would have to go without teeth for the next 6-8 months until my permanent ones could be made. I was devastated. I went to another specialist who told me I couldn't keep going without teeth. For starters my posts were fresh I wasn't supposed to be chewing with gums, the dentures protect the new posts while they heal. Second he said the dentures would allow my gums to heal to the dentures molding them. He said the longer I went without teeth the harder it would be to ever get them to fit properly. I'm also loosing more jaw bone the longer I don't have teeth. That was almost 7 months ago now. The diet I'm supposed to be on for my disease can help tremendously but teeth are required. I've been drinking shakes for 7 months now. I was almost 110 pounds and am now almost 90. I've had to hide away in my house for months to embarrassed to see anyone. I tried filling a grevance file but Rachel blew me off. It wasn't even my words or story. It's fake. I've been to several appointments since I got a hold of corporate. They said they were going to make me a new set of teeth. However the many impressions haven't worked and they can't seem to get one accurate enough to work. In October they actually asked for the dentures that didn't fit back so they could use them to make an impression lol. Of course they were unable to do it. I talked to someone on the inside and she they are stalling me until my permanent ones can be made. 2 out of 3 of my posts have fallen out. Now they're saying it could be another 6 months before we start making my permanent teeth.
Desired outcome: I want all money back. Then an additional 21,230 to fix the damages done by this company.
Billing
I had work done on my teeth between 2019 thru June 2020 . The final procedure was delivery of crown in June of 2020. Then here in January of 2021 7 months later Western Dental has sent me a bill for over 4,000.00 demanding I pay them now... In order to even begin the work I was presented with contract showing work to be performed ect and told I would have to pre pay as I had no dental insurance. So through them I was directed to Care Credit and had to apply for a card.. I have been paying Card Credit so I do not use Western Dental a thing. In all that time between June 2020 to January of 2021 I did not once receive any correspondence , bills nothing until the demand for payment.
Desired outcome: I want Western Dental to reassure me they have made a huge error and show I don't owe them anything!
Incorrect crown/cap placement causing problems, pain, suffering and cost to replace
An orthodontist at Western Dental even said that they would replace #19 at no charge due to improper placement. At my next appointment Chico Western Dental was closed related to Covid. 2 appointments after that, my family had possible symptoms. I was turned away twice after that. 11/29/21 8am the girl in charge was extremely rude and refused service when I wanted an exam for possible cap replacement. I've endured a lot pain and financial hardship related to this. All I'm asking for is a refund of both caps so that I can get them replaced. X-rays on both crowns show a gap. I've had problems with #19 ever since. Please let me know if you need a copy of the x-rays. I'm requesting a complete copy of my chart.

I made a Dental appointment for a 3unit bridge consultation. I was brought in by a dental assistant and put me in the chair for X-rays and brief general examination. As i sat in the chair, A man walk in…what i assume was the Doctor to discussed my examination of my mouth, what i later find out by the front desk, he is the Western Dental & Orthodontics Oxnard CA office Manager named Omar talked
about getting treatment for your gums and introduced a product to me about (perils) that fight gum diseases and dental assistant said you have some gum deterioration and you should take the product.
I initially said no…but they continue to pressure me about taking the product…. I'm assume that it was part of the my diagnosis that they discovered after X-rays and examination of my mouth, the Manger who never said he was not a Doctor and the Dental Assistant made it appear or whats needed to treat my treated gums and that it was part of diagnosis…they made it appear as if they were Doctors so i assume but later i found out that he… he the Office Manager Omar were not a Doctor which he was pretending to be. As i told them, I can't afford the product..I'm working with in a budget…
Omar the Manager and Dental Assistant continue to pressure me in taking the product which i finally did…after being highly pressured by the office staff and the Manager Omar who never introduced himself as a Office Manager who pretend to be a Doctor. I try to return the product to the office but staff violently told me No to me and now I'm on the hook for over $1000 of stuff…for something i didn't even need…. this Western Dental & Orthodontics Company have put me in great emotional and financial stress and now I'm looking to lose my room that i rent and eventually homelessness.

I got my braces I had no idea of what I was doing because I'm very independent and did not let my parents get involved, First they EXTRACTED THE WRONG TOOTH, and since I was about 18 yo I thought that was just a mistake now that I'm a nurse I realized how much damage they costed, second They placed the Brackets on with all the cavities I had and it was pretty bad, and w/o doing a cleaning first🤮. And third I got behind on 1 payment I had an emergency and the wire was reaping my cheeks inside and they did not care they did not wanted to see me w/o a payment and I complaint so they stopped charging me and a year later they reached out to me saying that they want me to pay half of the treatment 4, 000 and I just went 3 times there they did not do anything for me besides ruining my denture and charging me. DO NOT GO TO WESTERN DENTAL THEY ARE THE WORST.

I am a patient of western Dental and have been over the last part of my dental history. I went in for an impression to have my bottom teeth extracted and receive a bottom plate. That was six weeks ago. When I returned for the extraction last week I waited two hours only to have finance come and tell me I needed four bone grafts that would cost $2,000 and the dentist refused to extract the teeth and deliver the bottom plate. I am on disability and do not have $2,000 and was told I need to go to Highland Hospital to have the work done before they would deliver the bottom plate.
I have been trying to get a walk in appointment with Highland for the past three business days without success but I did finally get a live person and after explaining the situation to the person I was told that the doctor at WD needed to send over a referral before they could begin the procedure. Why didn't the doctor at Western Dental do that? Why didn't they tell me that while I was in the office.
I have been for the past two hours trying to contact Western Dental office only to get transferred to the appointment line who is also unable to get the office to answer the phone.
I have not been able to eat solid food for the past seven weeks and the bottom teeth are becoming sensitive again. I'll keep trying to reach the office to get them to send a referral to Highland Hospital but ultimately, I am going to have travel to the office in another town just to talk to a live person who could follow through. This whole experience reminds me as if KMart ran a dental clinic. The staff could care less if they helped a person or not. They are there only to receive a pay check and take no pride in trying to help people.

Poor follow-up
My elderly Mother-In-law got her dentures from Western Dental 4 years back. She had also done bone grafting in lower jaw (paid out of pocket $2500 ). Now the denture broke. When she was seen, they said they will get the approval from insurance and get back in 3 weeks. After 4 weeks of no response, when I called them, they had not sent the papers yet !. Now it is almost 8 weeks and no response. Is it fair that an elderly is without any teeth in the lower jaw and completely ignored?

In March 2019, my wife went in for treatment and was told she had to pay up front with her Carecredit and the billing department would bill the insurance and credit the care credit account. I've called, left requests for call backs, stopped by in person 2-3 times a month for the last two years and they have yet to resolve this. Today I head they fired the old billing person. This is crazy. I just want my insurance to be billed correctly and the money we paid via care credit to be refunded.
Desired outcome: Complete billing and refund me for everything I paid up front.
